SmartDRIVER Training

Negative experience: The “fraud” reviews are true. I paid over C$200 for a road test with smartDRIVER. My test was scheduled via email almost two weeks in advance. On the day of, 20 minutes before my pickup time, I received a text saying “Can’t make today home sick with the flu”. After this, no contact so far via text or email about a possible rescheduling or refund - I will update my review if I hear back. I do not understand how fraudulent organizations like this still manage to operate.

Negative experience: They are very punctual and professional when it comes to scheduling and time. However the instructor Paul, is very firm and a bit strict. I struggled to learn with him because if you don't learn at his pace he would wear a visibly pissed off mood. He also assumes you know driving somehow. If you're starting off as a new driver with no prior experience, I do not recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Great experience, passed my drivers test first try. The online classes were done through A+ Drivers, which were informative and gave realistic driving scenarios. The practical training was done by Paul and Glen. Having never driven, or driven in St. John's I was nervous. The driving trainers were informative, and good for a chat while learning the roads. Parking was a challenge for me but they ensured I had some additional time learning it, and I nailed it first go at the test. There was a bit of a wait after the initial payment to get started but once I had my first practice in it was smooth sailing. They even accommodated my hectic work schedule! This is one of the most cost effective driving schools on the Avalon.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Paul Prowse and my son's instructor Jason. Very patient and taught him a lot. Made him feel very at ease and confident in his driving.Excellent driver's course. I feel confident with him behind the wheel.
