Negative experience: This was the worst driving school experience I've ever had. On the day of my road test, my instructor didn’t even show up. Instead of rescheduling, they assigned me a new instructor last minute. The new instructor said everything I had been taught was wrong and started reteaching me just 20 minutes before my test. Naturally, I failed. Avoid Young Drivers – it's a complete waste of time and money!

Negative experience: Just got honked at and flipped by one of their drivers because I had the right away in a parking lot going to timmies on Harvey road, if their drivers don’t know the rules of the road then how can you expect them to teach your children

Fantastic experience: Great experience with YD, having only classroom lessons was much better than sitting in a classroom all weekend, and in car lessons were an enjoyable time with Justin

Fantastic experience: When I started Young Drivers I had never driven before in my life, but my instructor Nick Penney was so helpful in calming my driving anxiety. He taught me the rules of the road in a way that was easy to understand, and he really cared about my outcome on my road test. Thank you so much Nick and Young Drivers! Definitely recommend!

Positive experience: The online class was good overall but a bit chaotic at times. YD might consider sorting its online classes by age groups teens/adult learners. Other than that it was great. I had Andrew and also Justin as on the road instructors and both were excellent. Andrew has a great structured approach to teaching good for those who need incremental progressive methodical learning. Justin had a lot of excellent coaching tips that relate to gaining good spatial awareness and correct reactions on the road and has a positive demeanour that decreased my stress. Very glad I took this program.

Fantastic experience: Justin Morgan is a great teacher. He explains things well and is a super cool guy.

Negative experience: Very hard to get ahold of. Called 4 times and left voicemails to no avail. Also be aware that Young Drivers won't let you book any driving time until the full balance is paid, however, if you select the payment plan, there is no option for you to pay off the remaining balance immediately. There are many more better alternatives available for driving practice in the St.John's area at a fraction of the price.

Positive experience: Justin was my driving instructor, and it was a blast. He knows the most important stuff that you will need to pass the road test and he shares that information with you. Also, he always seemed to go the extra mile with me, which I appreciate it. However, Justin is very casual and chilled back, so he rarely feels like a teacher and usually comes across as a friend with a bunch of knowledge on the road test. Some people might feel like they are getting a lower quality service with him because they feel like he is less professional, but I personally found that it made him genuine. All in all, great instructor, and he cares about his students.

Fantastic experience: I had had a couple different instructors ( just cause of some scheduling issues) and my last two lessons ended up being with Justin Morgan. And I can honestly say he made me feel a lot more comfortable on the wheel. Great instructor and great guy to chat with.

Fantastic experience: I had Justin Morgan for my instructor! He was absolutely amazing! No matter how much driving experience you have, have comfortable or nervous you are behind the wheel. He makes you feel comfortable right away, he makes sure you feel comfortable before doing anything. His able to make it feel like his a friend while still being professional, helping you every step of the way no matter what it is. He wants to make sure and see all his students so very well and find success! I definitely wouldn’t have gotten my license first time if it wasn’t for him!

Fantastic experience: I had Justin Morgan as my instructor and I can honestly say that I would have never gotten my license on the first try if it wasn't for him! I had lots of anxiety going into driving lessons. I was very nervous to start learning to drive and even more nervous to do that with a stranger. I immediately felt comfortable once he started cracking jokes and assuring me that everything was going smoothly. He even put on some music a couple of times to make it more enjoyable! He gave a lot of good tips, especially for parking, and he picked up on things that he knew I was having a hard time with and made it seem like a breeze after we worked on it. He was super professional, easy to get along with, extremely patient, and I would definitely recommend anyone to book with him!

Fantastic experience: Ryan was an amazing instructor. He was very patient, friendly, and has helped me a lot to pass my road test. Scheduling for driving lessons were flexible.

Fantastic experience: So I had a couple of on road sessions with Justin and he was amazing from the start. He gave me confidence to drive and prepared me for the road test. The communication was great and told me about all the rules. The best thing was the technique he taught me to do the parallel parking and made it really easy for me.

Fantastic experience: Justin Morgan was an incredible instructor. I was very nervous going into it and had so much anxiety while driving. His methods of explaining techniques and driving skills worked perfectly for me. He caught on to where I was struggling and gave me the skills and knowledge to overcome it. He is 100% the reason I passed my road test. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone wanting to learn how to drive, and be confident while doing so. 10/10. He also had the best driving tunes, so for this I will add an extra point. 11/10.

Fantastic experience: I want to put a big shout out to Ryan corbett my instructor in st.johns newfoundland Canada if it wasn't for you buddy I wouldn't of been able to pass and because of your amazing skills ect I got 100% And passed my road test with no marks your the best instructor and super funny and got really great vibes and I couĺdnt have done it with out you bud if I was to rate u I would rate 100 stars because your awesome thank you young drivers and Ryan corbett. December 8th 2021 also I would like to add I had trouble with Ernest and thank god I switched to Ryan for my last 3 or 4 lessons and I'm glad I did switch to Ryan thanks again Ryan corbett your the best. I want to also thank you young drivers for offering me 2 extra lessons for free for the horrable experience i had with Ernest where he almost got me In to a accident by takeing the wheel for no reason and also Ernest also was very rude and keep saying no wonder you people are bad drivers and juge mental when here I was Drive ing perfect. But thank god I switched and let the office know the troubles I had with ernest and thank god I switched to Ryan corbett he is the best thank you all again and I'm glad to hear that Ernest is no longer with young drivers. And I would recommend people to take young drivers. Stay safe and drive safe thank you.

Positive experience: Working with Justin was excellent. He was very patient and approachable. He made every attempt at preparing me for the road test. I lament the cost of the program but his instruction was, in my perspective, superb.

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience with Young Drivers! They are very accomodating! Their prices are very reasonable as I almost called all the schools in St. John's and got a quote. My instructor Justin Morgan, was very friendly, accomodating and taught me in a very relaxing manner! I am pleased that I chose YD for my driving classes! Passed my test with 0 mistakes!

Negative experience: Hello, I'm writing this with my deepest frustration with the driving instructor. His name is Ernst Zeinert. I have just finished the last in car lesson, which the instructor says Mock Road Test. I would like to let you know that the instructor failed my test. I was unable to pass the parallel parking. However, I want you to take a note that the instructor used a different cones set-up in this test compared to the one he trained me on my first in car lesson. the parallel parking cones the instructor used on the Mock Road Test were put very close to each other. And I was unable to parallel park correctly, but he taught me on a different cones set-up that are wide to each other. So, I used the method he taught me but it didn't work on his new cones set up. If he used same cone set up as he taught me then I would definitely pass. On top of that, I want make it clear that the instructor was never friendly to me. I was always felt insecure and stressed due to his negative, rude remakes from the first day. Every time I asked any questions, he was very rude to me. He swears on every car lessons I had. I truly feel that due the instructor bring rude and unfriendly, I could not get the best of the course and many times he put extra pressure on me. I feel victim taking this driving course with this instructor. I am very upset as I am writing this. I passed everything aside the parralel parking and that's due to the instructor use of different cones set up compared to the one he taught me. At this point I really am upset that I learnt so much but could not complete the course because of the instructor. I wished I booked my in car lessons with another instructor only if I knew. He's a rude person and does not have the desire to teach. I regret Singin up with Young Drivers. I have lost $1,000 in this course. I know I would have passed the road test with my driving skill. Please do something about it. I don't want anyone to fall victim to this rude instructor who doesn't like you asking questions, doesn't want to show a manuever more than once, and psychologicaly abusive. If you want to be successful in driving without being stuck for months with this driving school, then please consider booking with different instructor or a different driving school entirely. Negative experience: Update: Thanks to either this review or/and with the intervention of the Registrar of Motor vehicles , YD has issued the graduation certificate! P.S: YD refuses to give me a graduation certificate stating that I haven’t cleared their internal evaluation. Whereas I have completed all the in class sessions and the minimum requirement of 10.5 hours of in car sessions .I Have lodged a complaint and will update this review once I get a resolution. Where do I begin!!! Was fooled by the google reviews and signed up for their training program and it was one of the worst decisions of my life! Everything was fine till the theory classes where you have to go through 25 hours of in-class training . Then came the dreaded part of In car lessons with my trainer ! The schedules were erratic to say the least ! You get a lesson today and then 4-5 days later , the next 90 minutes of practice. For someone who doesn’t own a car and has little experience, this was very hard as there was no way I could retain what was learnt in the previous lessons. First of all , I had made it clear to my trainer that I have little driving experience and he need to keep patience . The patience was kept for exactly 3 sessions and when I couldn’t drive as expected, I could see the irritation in the trainers way of talking to me that the dude was ANGRY! And this was after putting up with his erratic behaviour of calling me to a certain parking lot in paradise for practise and showing up in the one in Mount pearl! This happened at least 3 times ! I have spent close to CAD2000 to convince YD that I am ready for the road test with the MRD . Every time I went for the YD mock road test , I was told I need more practise and need to book 2-3 more sessions . I got fed up of all this BS as this had been going on since June and until early September, YD. kept telling me to book more sessions . Eventually , I ended up practicing with another driving school and got my license. IF YOU ARE FROM A DIFFERENT COUNTRY, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR DRIVER TRAINING NEEDS .I HOPE YOU KNOW I AM POINTING AT SOMETHING THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE THE REASON FOR MY REVIEW AND WHICH I CANNOT PROVE .

Negative experience: Worst place to learn driving from Iv'e spent over 2000 dollars with them learning how to drive Their instructor was always late never on time and always on phone . Their driver was always bumming me for a smoke. Always hitiing on me. I never learned a thing from them. Was a total waste of my money with them I wpuld not recommemd them at all. Go somewhere else. Never

Negative experience: I took my driving sessions with Bernier's driving school, and I passed the RT very quickly. But I sent my wife to young drivers thinking that she would get a waiver when applying for insurance. Joining her for the course with YD was the worst mistake that happened in my life. A considerable amount of money was spent for the class, and she learned nothing. I found from her that the instructor, Dominique, was always on his phone, texting, and never bothered to correct his student. She also mentioned that the instructor, Dominique, was also very rude to her, sometimes even shouting at her. After doing in-car sessions with Dominque, she was pretty depressed and lost her interest. I had to teach her driving and also had a tough time to build her confidence. Also, never expect to pass even if you are an experienced driver when you are going for the road test through YD. They will definitely fail you and ask you to do additional in-car sessions with YD. They are doing money making business and is worthless. Never ever go for YD I will give a big zero rating.

Fantastic experience: I’m not a person who is comfortable with driving. I’m pretty sure I was past white knuckle stressed while learning. The teacher was very good with that though, he very calmly dealt with problems and mistakes and never escalated the situation.

Fantastic experience: After years of having a built up fear of driving, my on road instructor Trevor Bolger, helped me break down those fears and drive past them. He thought me the good habits to have and the bad ones I should avoid. He was very informative, helpful, and straightforward, but he also kept it fun and fresh. I’ve recommended Trevor in the past, and will continue to do so into the future. Thanks again TB!

Fantastic experience: Trevor was a awesome instructor! Had 15 lessons with him I think, always looked forward to driving, wouldent of wanted anyone else to teach me how to drive, never felt uncomfortable ever, no question was a 'dumb' question, went into the road test getting 100% I don't think I could have done it without Trevor, you the man!!

Fantastic experience: Trevor Bolger has the patience of a saint. Seriously though! I have horrible anxiety when it comes to being behind the wheel, and even suffer through panic attacks. Trevor always made me feel like I was doing great and could accomplish anything! Young Drivers is really lucky to have him!

Fantastic experience: Prior to doing my lessons with Trevor, I was terrified of being behind the wheel. With A combination of generalized anxiety and a bad experience in a motor vehicle, I was sure Trevor had his word cut out for him but none the less he persisted and spoke and taught calmly and with such professionalism that it still resonates to this day. He made learning to drive an easy experience and helped combat the every day anxieties one has while behind the wheel. Some of these coping methods help me to this day. I was the kid that didn't know the difference between the gas and the brake. I ended up aceing my license testing! Thanks again to YD and Mr. Trevor Bolger for being a beauty of a human being and making vehicular transportation a bearable and then enjoyable experience!

Fantastic experience: Trevor was an awesome instructor. I had only 3 lessons with him but in that time I was able to really feel comfortable behind the wheel. Better though was his making me feel comfortable and open with him. Being in a vehicle alone with someone you don't know can be intimidating. With Trevor it felt as if we had been friends for years and he made this way less awkward and me feel less vulnerable. If you want a great instructor ask for Trevor he will steer you in the right direction.

Fantastic experience: Had Trevor and he was an awesome instructor, had a ton of fun learning to drive! Super easy to talk to and glad to be stuck driving around with him for hours at a time! Very patient and helpful! Would like to give him a shout out as well for my standard skills which would be no where as good without his excellent knowledge and encouragement.

Fantastic experience: Before getting behind the wheel, I remember I was super nervous and I constantly questioned if I was ready to drive. On my very first day of driving lessons, my driving instructor, Trevor Bolger could tell I was nervous right from the get go and somehow he instantly made me feel calm, despite not having a clue how to drive. Well by the end of that lesson I had drove all around the city and was looking forward to my next lesson! He was excellent and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone, especially any younger more nervous driver. I have had my license for 10 years and still accident free!(knock on wood) Thanks Trevor!

Fantastic experience: My instructor, Trevor Bolger, made me feel at ease as soon as I got in the car, and inspired confidence in my driving. He (and the Young Drivers programme) is far better than the relative who offers to teach you in a calm, collected manner, but is minutes later screaming at you to pull over. I still use the lessons Trevor taught me daily.

Fantastic experience: Trevor Bolger is an amazing driving instructor, he is very knowledgeable and patient with new drivers and would recommend him for future Young Driver applicants. Moreover he specifically helped me on various techniques and maneuvers to help me pass the road test on my first try! Trevor is very energetic and enthusiastic about his job and it shows, as most of his students pass the road test which in turn is a great testament to his skill and talent not only as an instructor but as an experienced driver as well.

Fantastic experience: Whenever anyone talks about a loved one getting their licence I always recommend Young Drivers, and the fantastic Trevor Bolger! Trevor is an outstanding teacher who helps alleviate the anxiety of starting out behind the wheel with his patience and humour. I always looked forward to my lessons with Trevor and his teachings have helped keep me safe. I highly recommend both Young Drivers and Trevor to anyone getting their liscence or who feels like they could use a refresher course .

He was excellent in teaching me how to drive a manual, and instilled safe and skilled habits that I still use when driving. Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with young drivers when I did my training a few years ago. My instructor Trevor Bolger was excellent and very easy going. Teaching me how to drive standard was certainly not easy as I was not so keen on doing it but he made it a fun experience for me. To this day I still drive standard and I enjoy it and it's all thanks to him!

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank YD for helping me obtain my license back in 2012. Mostly this is a huge shout out to my most amazing driving instructor Trevor Bolger. He taught me all of the driving skills that I needed to stay safe and comfortable while driving, and because of him my driving record has stayed clear of any at fault accidents or tickets. As a kid I grew up wanting to learn to drive a standard and never wanted to ever own a automatic. Thanks to Trevor I am now on my 3rd standard vehicle and have never had a clutch problem (lol). This is a great program for any new driver to go through, the people were great and the skills you learn while attending are both helpful and useful. Another plus, you’ll have a fine laugh doing it.

Fantastic experience: I had an incredibly positive experience at Young Driver and the biggest reason why is because of Trevor Bodger. Trever Bodger was a kind and understanding driving instructor who is a patient and knowledgable person. Simply put, if you need to learn how to drive or want to become a better driver then there is no better teacher than Trever Bodger.

Fantastic experience: I completed my driver training a few years ago with Trevor Bolger, back when training was still offered for manual cars. He did an excellent job honing the skills I had and teaching me defensive driving techniques as well as skills to make driving a manual easier and safer. Trevor did all of this while making the car a comfortable, safe, and easy-to-learn environment. He believes in his students, he trusts them, and I believe that is absolutely a credit to the man, as that makes learning from him such a great experience! Fantastic experience: I would like to recognize my driving instructor, Trevor Bolger who taught me to drive in 2008! As a new driver I was incredibly nervous about learning to drive, but Trevor was patient with me throughout the entire process. He took time to motivate me to learn while equipping me with the skills I needed to become a confident driver. He practiced numerous teaching techniques catered to my learning style which enhanced my skill development, this in my opinion, makes him a great educator.
