Safety Services Nova Scotia: Reviews
Negative experience: incredibly poor staff and i found such a wastage of time and wont even find worth it wasting time talking about their foolishness. (instructor for firearms course theory and practical)
Negative experience: I dont recommend anyone who is going to attend non-restricted firearms course here, the instructors has a poor skills of teaching. Doesn’t answer to the questions rather than focus on finishing the course. I have done a lot of safety courses but haven’t seen somebody like that. They just speak their part doesn’t matter students learn or not. They just want students to fail and come again for the course. Fortunately, they behave as racist.
Fantastic experience: Amazing service! Great experiences with the drivers, aswell as during the classes.
Negative experience: Expected people to drive in the 1st massive snowstorm of the year to a PAL course, and wouldn’t offer new dates or refunds - even when asking in advance via email.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff, after 3 months waiting to find a free place to register for the restricted fire-arm course at 8:30 am this morning, travelled for 2 hours just to get there and no-answers calls to the centre, we arrived at 8:31 am (late 1 minute) and the person in charge didn't accept to let us attend the class because we was late for 1 minutes!! And there was no one they didn't even open the gate to talk to us!! They didn't start the course and didn't even seat anyone yet and we can see that from outside! We traveled for 2 hours on our holiday and waited all that time to attend this course! It was NOT fair to do that with a smily face!!! and laughing while standing inside and not even being courteous to come and talk to us outside . ... We were 3 different people at the door surprised with that answer like if we are kids! We paid our money and waste our time and now again we should wait and try to register again and again just for 2 minutes late... I don't know if the management accept this kind of service!!! Really disappointed
Fantastic experience: I Had a very positive experience . Excellent service recommended to go through safety services
Fantastic experience: I just got my license yesterday, and all I can say is that the whole experience was amazing. The course structure was great, and the instructors were especially caring, friendly, and very helpful. Definitely recommend!
Fantastic experience: I can only speak to the quality of their road test (car, not motorcycle), but my instructor was excellent. He was kind and calm and gave me some very useful and detailed post-test feedback on how I can improve.
Fantastic experience: I recently completed the motorcycle training and licensing course offered through Safety Services Nova Scotia, and I can confidently say it was the best experience I've ever had in a training program. But don't get me wrong—you're not paying to get a license. You're paying to save your life. The motorcycle training program is remarkably thorough. The facilitators are incredibly patient, encouraging, and experts in their field. They are in your corner, serving as your cheerleaders, genuinely wanting to see you succeed. The two days I spent learning how to ride a motorcycle again were among the most incredible experiences I've had. The program restored my confidence and equipped me with new skills that are invaluable. Even during the testing phase, when I was very nervous, one of the instructors came over, gave me a little pep talk, and told me to think of watermelons. That simple, quirky advice did wonders to calm my nerves and helped me focus. If you are considering learning how to ride a motorcycle, I wholeheartedly encourage you to take this program. It is well worth the investment. While it may seem expensive to some, the cost is justified when you think about the life-saving skills you'll acquire from these incredible instructors. I cannot emphasize enough how much this course has benefited me, and I believe it can do the same for you.
Negative experience: Whoever the head Motorcycle instructor working today July 13 is a really horrible person. I got lucky with the instructors a month ago. I see why so many gave negative reviews for this guy. He is a real hot head and shouldn't be in this profession.
Negative experience: I took the Safety Services Motorcycle Training & Licensing Course at Beechville DOT Garage on October 14th and 15th, 2023. The instructor Anthony was extremely rude, aggressive and abrasive towards me and I was verbally abused on several occasions; he had tendencies to lose both his patience and his temper whenever I would make mistakes. As it was only my first time operating a motorcycle, I was not good at doing so - however he expected me to ride like Valentino Rossi which became problematic throughout the course. I felt very uncomfortable, intimidated and unsafe whenever he was yelling at me. I sincerely regret signing up for this course and for not standing up for myself against Anthony; I honestly should’ve given him a piece of my mind, learn some basic respect and stop treating others like literal crap. His behaviour made me feel uncomfortable, intimidated and unhappy; on top of that he had the audacity to suggest I ride with a smile on my face.
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience from all the instructors for the motorcycle course. I really appreciated their professionalism, patience and clear instruction. Great bunch of instructors! Thanks again Nancy
Fantastic experience: I did the motorcycle safety course at SSNS in Bayers Lake last weekend. I cannot express how much I recommend it for new riders. The instructors were super helpful and patient and made the course fun. They had a good range of bikes to choose from, which I was worried about because of my height, but there was something there for everyone.
Negative experience: To sum up, i was offended by one of instructors in firearms training program. And then the fast speed of speaking of instructor is absolutely unfriendly for immigrants who are non-english-native speakers. What a terrible experience i have ever had in Nova Scotia
Negative experience: I was denied entry to the firearms safety course even though I arrived only at 8:33 instead of 8:30. And despite having a confirmation of registration and a receipt, my name wasn't on the list of course students for some unknown reason. The person handling check-in told me I couldn't join saying: "you lost your money." I recognize my slight delay, but unforeseen events can cause such minor setbacks. Denying entry for a mere 2 or 3-minute delay seems excessive. Moreover, if they are going to enforce stringent rules on attendees, they should ensure their own administrative tasks, like maintaining an accurate student list, are faultless. It seems like a double standard to penalize students for minor tardiness while having evident major lapses in their own processes.
Fantastic experience: Completed the Safe Rider Training course for motorcycles in Bible hill Instructors were fantastic, very knowledgeable, personable and patient. I think this course should be mandatory for everyone who rides. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: I had my first session on their cutting edge driving simulator and it was a great, fun learning experience! Kerry was super helpful, knowledgable and friendly and made the whole lesson amazing. Highly recommended for everyone, especially if you are nervous about getting behind the wheel for the first time!
Fantastic experience: I've been trying to drive for more than 12 years but I was always scared and stressed. Instructor Maha Jodah helped me to be confident and encouraged me to face my fears and finally I got my licence at 44 years old. I highly recommend her . Thank you so much Maha and thank you Safety Services Nova Scotia!
Positive experience: Did safety course
Negative experience: Took the motorcycle training course in Truro, that was moved last minute to New Glasgow. The instructor was the most impatient and ignorant instructor I have ever taken a course with. How does it help when instructor tells you you some people don't belong on a bike or not everone is meant to ride a bike. I have tried to contact there head office for over a month with no success. Wish there was another option to the course given by this company.
Fantastic experience: Took the non-restricted firearms class this morning. I myself am a tactical weapons instructor form the U.S. and have taught many students over the past 30 years. But since I don't have a license in Canada, even an instructor with my level of experience has to start at the bottom. Well the 3 instructors (Rob, Tom, and Mike) who taught the class this morning were absolute pros, and you're hearing that from a tough instructor (me). These guys were patient, dedicated, friendly, and had an all-around great approach to the subject matter, and to a large class of students (31) that had an incredible span of experience levels from zero firearms experience to a military-level instructor. These guys did a great job tailoring their approach to each student's experience level and needs. Bravo gentlemen - great job.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff, after 2 months waiting to find a free place to register for the restricted fire-arm course at 8:30 am this morning, with the snowy day and no-answers calls to the centre, we arrived at 8:32 am (late 2 minutes) and the person in charge didn’t accept to let us attend the class because we was late for 2 minutes!! They didn’t start the course even didn’t seat yet and we can see that from outside! We traveled me and my friend all the way under the snow and took a day off and waited all that time to attend this course! It was NOT fair to do that with a smily face “saying you are late so you will not enter”… We was 4 persons at the door surprised with that answer like if we are kids! We paid our money and waste our time and now again we should wait and try to register again and again just for 2 minutes late… I don’t know if the management accept this kind of service!!! Really disappointed
Hi Wael, we are incredibly sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately, we just facilitate the fire-arm courses, they are not run by our company. The rules set in place in which prevented you from accessing the courses were set by the government, not us, so we had no control over not allowing you into the course on late arrival. Still we see this was a very upsetting and disappointing experience, and we would really like to make up for it. Please reach out to us at [email protected] so we can resolve this situation, and hopefully set things right. Again, we apologize for the situation and want to do everything we can to make it better for you.
Fantastic experience: Mohammad is very good instructor. He helped me a lot. I passed my exam in just one class with him. Thank you so much Mohammad. Recommend to all
Fantastic experience: I had the most fantastic experience with Safety Service NS. As someone who waited till adulthood to get my license I was nervous. However with the in class training from Kerri & the in car training with Sarah I have found my confidence! They are well trained , super nice and easy to learn from! I highly recommend using them.
Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful time on motorcycle course. The instructors were very friendly and understanding and fun to deal with. I would recommended to anyone in a heart beat. teaching you the most fundamentals needed to be safe.
Fantastic experience: Awesome customer service here from Jenny on the phone as well as all the instructors of the Motorcycle Course! As someone who had never driven a bike before I felt VERY comfortable in their hands. Thanks again for the certificate, Jenny!! You rock.
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience with one of the instructors. He got his wife to train me and she was very negative towards me and unprofessional. She was even making fun of me while driving. English was not her first language and she treated me as if I am the one who does not know English at all, I don’t think she should be working as a trainer as she got zero communication or any other skills. I paid $65 for an hour and half practise in cash without any receipt. I don’t recommend the business or that specific instructor. By the way, I got replied to my review from the owner saying that person does not work for them and to contact management. I contacted the company and confirmed with the front desk that he does work for them. I left my phone number and was told management will contact me but they never did. What a company
A N. I am sorry that you had a bad experience. I am interested in knowing more about this as we believe that this instructor may not be one of ours and is using out company logo. If you could find your way to contact us and discuss this matter with the Manager of the driving School we would muchly appreciate the feedback.
Fantastic experience: They are the best in the business!!!!!
Fantastic experience: very knowledgeable staff. Great service and friendly
Ainlsie; Thank you for your kind words. They are truly appreciated.
