Tecnic Hull Centre-Ville driving school

Positive experience: Having taken my driving lessons at this school, here is my list of things I appreciated and those I liked less. What I appreciated: - the driving outings - the good advice from the instructors - the usefulness of the courses - being able to talk to the very nice instructors! (Taoufik and Hassan) What I liked less: - customer service - the instructors of the theoretical courses, how come I can't eat during my zoom, it’s dinner time frankly - the theoretical courses (I can open my notebook and read what’s written in it, no need for 12 courses of 2 hours to explain it to me) - the strictness of the theoretical courses, if my camera stops working, I am excluded from the course and I have fees to pay, what? - how poorly organized this school is. There you go! That was my list!

Fantastic experience: Was great! Very helpful and friendly. I had Taoufik Najih for my instructor. If you’re reading this review and can be sensitive about being yelled at or being like scorned he won’t! He was always so great never yelled and helped make corrections with good explanations so I could properly learn from it. I know like many driving can be a stressful task and having an instructor that works well for you really helps! If you can try and make appointments with Taoufik Najih. You won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: I just had a 2 hour class with Najih Taoufik, he is such a lovely instructor. He is very funny and good at making you feel comfortable in the vehicle. He said he was surprised that he gets this many good reviews but I think he deserves all of them :)

Positive experience: The school is generally good but the administration of Tecnic is problematic: I transferred from another branch of Tecnic and there were several errors with the transfer of the file from the central administration. We had to call several times to correct mistakes. Moreover, the instructor Taoufik is particularly good: patient, encouraging, and genuine. It should be noted that the entrance to the school is hidden. There is a sign that says you have to go around to access it, but you can easily get in through a hidden staircase next to the SAAQ. This is not indicated, and we took a big detour as a result.

Negative experience: My name is Kelvin Bernards and I'm writing review today about my experience with the instructor and the staffs at Tecnic school. I did a driving session with a male instructor (I won't say his name) for phase 4 this morning. I haven't drove the car since last year, and I thought I had a confident while driving the car, I didn't. I made a couple of mistakes in the first 30 to 40 minutes because I was shaky, scared and rusty too in the beginning. The instructor was giving me feedbacks on the things I need to work on. I appreciate he's teaching me how to drive safely on the road, but what I don't appreciate is his negative attitude. The way he speaks to me was very rude, loud, angry and I felt disappointed and disgusting. He keeps blaming over my faults rather CORRECTING me as a professional driving instructor. He fails to be calm, patient, and he supposed to give some respectful advice for me to improve my driving skills. He said I need to practice on driving the car, he's right, but he uses his angry tone to tell me to practice everyday when I go to school everyday. He even got upset with me for not knowing what a yield and some certain driving terminologies. I haven't practice driving since last year. I wasn't upset or offended by any means. I was fine throughout. I was able not to create an altercation with the instructor, so I kept my mouth zip to avoid the drama. The only things I like about the driving school is the good service with very nice staff. They're very friendly, respectful, nice  and the place is very clean and well-kept. The only problems I had with the staff is their English language, and their English are not their first language since it's hard for me, and other anglophones to understand with their French accent. I love the instructors, staff and the service too, but I won't recommend Tenic driving school for anyone who wanted to come and learn how to drive based on my experience with it. I'm sorry but that's the truth. I'm on the last phase, so I have to finish it.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service à la clientèle et instructeurs. Jade offre un service auquel j'ai rarement eu droit. Un service hors pair! Elle est serviable, comprehensive et polie. Elle a vraiment travailler fort pour m'aider à terminer mon cours cette année. Merci aussi à mes instructeurs Dave et Francois. Toujours plaisant d'apprendre en s'amusant.

Negative experience: Service beaucoup moins bon depuis que Lauzon a vendu. Fait plus d’une semaine qu’on laisse des messages et nous n’avons pas reçu de réponses. En plus, aucune disponibilité de cours sur la route en vue, rien en juillet, août , etc.

Fantastic experience: Adoré mes sorties avec Taoufik. Très très sympathique, ma fait adoré les cours et la conduite en général. Beaucoup appris grâce à lui ! Il est toujours calme et donne d’excellents conseil :)

Fantastic experience: J’ai eu la chance de travailler avec Sabrina B. pour l’inscription de mes cours, elle est très courtoise et respectueuse! Elle était disponible en tout temps pour mes questions et m’a donné d’excellent conseils. Un gros merci!

Fantastic experience: J’ai toujours eu les meilleurs cours de conduite Taoufik sincèrement j’aime énormément ses cours, je suis devenue une bonne conductrice grâce à lui. Merci infiniment Taoufik.

Negative experience: Worse place. They are not respcting clients time, clients phone calls or email. They are not respect clients request. They call you any time what they want and if you're unable to answer it, they send you email telling we tried to reached you instead of the writing the reason why they tried to reach you. If you ask them why you guys do not answer my calls? when you showed up their, they simply says " we are not answer any any calls when we are working alone here. Frustrating place. Noone take responsibility.

Fantastic experience: Najih is an amazing teacher, always a calming instructor when on the road and provides great advice thats tailored to the student who is driving.

Negative experience: Hyper difficile de rejoindre la secrétaire par téléphone, rarement disponible, pour avoir de l'aide à s'inscrire en ligne, répondre aux questions, vraiment déçue. Je suis inscrite, mais mon compte n'est pas complet et je ne sais pas où je m'en vais

Fantastic experience: Personnel dynamique et courtois. Excellent service à la clientèle. L'équipe est très dévouée. Moniteurs et monitrices très compétents. Voitures toujours récentes et propres. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir tout en apprenant. Ils offrent également le service de location de voitures pour l'examen pratique, très apprécié vu l'emplacement de la SAAQ. Je recommande à tous :)

Fantastic experience: J’ai adoré mon expérience avec Tecnic, le personnel est qualifié et professionnel. Il y a toujours de la disponibilité et le personnel est exceptionnel, toujours prêt a aider. J’ai eu la chance de connaître la propriétaire, Ericka, qui est une personne en or. Elle ma beaucoup aider a réussir l’examen de pratique, dont j’ai réussi du premier coup! Merci énormément!!! Je conseil l’école Tecnic a hull !!! Moi qui a transferer d’école de conduite, je vois maintenant que c’est le meilleur choix que j’ai fais !! Merci bcpp!

Negative experience: I wish I could give them 0 stars but I can not do so. Avoid this driving school at all costs. Their instructors are horrible and they teach the students to drive incorrectly. My dad was cut off (not putting on their signal turn) earlier today while a student was driving and when he tried to address the issue with the  instructor, he got flipped off. Good way to represent your company! Then he proceeded to go to the office and that was the worst thing to do. The same instructor was still flipping him off and someone else came out, trying to intimidate him and said " You're sick, old, need to take medication and he needs to have someone to take care of you". This type of behaviour is unacceptable especially when a new driver is being taught how to drive. A complaint will be filed with SAAQ as they need to be made aware of the type of driving school they operate. And also the behaviour that their staff has towards people that are on the road.
