Fantastic experience: Al is a fantastic driving instructor. He’s very friendly, personable, knowledgeable and provided great updates at the end of each lesson. The online course was straightforward and easy to complete. The office communication was a little lacking in clarity when emailing in with questions prior to registration, but they accommodated all requests on our registration and were prompt to respond to all inquiries.

Fantastic experience: Carl was wonderful. I would highly recommend his instructor skills.

Negative experience: My daughter took the 15 hour in class training and the 10 hour road practice. She passed her class 5 road test as well. However, they are far too greedy and asking us to take more driving lessons to get her certificate. Please don’t waste your money with d2l .

Positive experience: Our family used this company for our sons driving course and the office staff were very pleasant. The price was fare and services provided were what was advised. Reason for 3 stars was communication issues. Delays in response sometimes days when trying to book or driver showing up late 10 min sometimes and my son not getting the extended time difference and while paying hourly wasn't awesome. Overall though affordable and good small driving company.

Negative experience: I am usually not a ranter or someone to post negative things on social media but here is my rant …. To all of you families looking for drivers training for your kids, in my opinion stay far away from D2L in Red Deer. I have never been more angry and upset with a company. First of all, the communication with this company was horrible the whole time. We did the 15 hours online and the 10 hours in vehicle. My son’s instructor was horrible! My son did the full (painful) 10 hours with his instructor and apparently he still needs more hours. Now, how is this possible when he has just recently passed his drivers test and got his license??? This guy was not helpful, did not let my son ask questions and when he did ask questions the instructor was not helpful - he considered that as him not knowing and uneducated. The truth is that he is a 16 year old trying to get better and learn. His instructor told me he is not passing drivers training because of me and that I do not spend enough time driving with him in between lessons. News flash, when you work and kids do sports in the evenings how do you expect us to drive 20+ hours in between lessons, that’s why I paid a driving school to teach him!! Some kids learn better with someone other than their parents. In our case he sure didn’t learn much from this instructor. We started the horrible in vehicle process June 4th and my son has still not finished with a certificate and apparently he needs more lessons to pass drivers training and would have to pay more money. What an absolute waste of $700+ I went with this company because I bought a Norte Dame Fundraising card and there was a bit of a discount to register with them … big mistake, huge mistake! In my opinion please save your self the money and headache and just book with someone else. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

Fantastic experience: D2L gave me a very fun, cheesy but very informative workload for the online portion of learning, and their driving instructors are amazing at communicating problems and mistakes to the driving student. I would recommend the novice course over AMA.

Fantastic experience: Our kids are safe and competent drivers, because of the excellent training that they received from the instructors at D2L. A big thanks to Carl and the D2L team!

Fantastic experience: My daughter had a fantastic experience with driving instructor Carl from D2L. She has pretty high anxiety and gets nervous easily. Carl was very kind, professional, patient, and was able to make her feel comfortable and relaxed during her driving lessons. Carl has a gift for teaching and a great sense of humor. My daughter was very lucky to have him as her instructor. Thank you Carl!

Fantastic experience: Thanks D2L for Carl. He's an amazing instructor. He explained everything to me while we were driving. I'm really glad I had the opportunity to take this lesson before taking my driving test.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional training instructor. Siting in traffic do to an accident on 30th ave, had signal light on told his trainee to honk and proceed to wave his finger and yell.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with this program. The first day I was so nervous and on edge, however, by the end I was feeling so much better about driving in bigger cities. I gained so much confidence with this program. 10/10 recommend

Negative experience: My daughter had poor experience with her drivers instructor and after she finished the program she went and did her drivers test and passed. I called them to get her certificate and they declined her saying only if I was to pay and book more lessons with them…. Over all poor experience

Always gave constructive feedback and explained the rules in detail while driving. He is very encouraging. Thank you so much Kieran. Fantastic experience: Both of my children recently had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with Carl and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the very first lesson, Carl was polite, patient, and calm, which immediately put them at ease. Carl was great at assessing situations accurately and provided clear, constructive feedback. If there was a mistake he would calmly explain what went wrong and how to correct it, turning each moment into a valuable learning lesson. This approach improved both kids driving skills as well as built their confidence behind the wheel. I highly recommend D2L to anyone looking to learn to drive in a supportive, safe and effective environment. Thank you, Carl for making both of my kids driving lessons such a positive experience!

Fantastic experience: Kerry is really great instructor, her and my daughter hit it off right away. And my kid was able to learn a whole lot with the 2 hour brush up classes. So grateful to have these instructors teaching our kids excellent driving skills.

Fantastic experience: I had Al as an instructor. Without him I wouldn’t have passed my test. He was honest and willing to help you learn. He made me more aware of my surroundings and taught me how to drive with caution and confidence. I would highly recommend going to him if you really want to learn how to become a better driver with the right attitude. He’s the greatest instructor there.

Fantastic experience: Al was a fantastic instructor. My son was given a very strong skill set to not only pass his driving test, but also to be a confident driver for life. It was money well spent and I appreciated the fact Al used every minute to teach. He was always on time, good communication and taught the full 10 hrs. I highly recommend this driving school to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Hi had an amazing experience at D2L and was able to pass my class 5 driving test thanks to D2L. I moved from Hong Kong recently and had 20+years of driving experience in Hong Kong however failed my first attempt! A friend of mine recommended D2L and I was able to book a brush up class with Kieran. Kieran is just a wonderful instructor who is very patient, knowledgeable and will teach you the right techniques and tricks with safety as the top priority. I was confident to go for second attempt and was able to pass the test thanks to Kieran and D2L! Shout out to Jennifer as well who was very accommodating and helpful in communicating and arranging the class. I would highly recommend D2L if you are looking to get your driver’s license here in Red Deer Alberta. Hope this review helps someone out there. Thanks Trevor

Fantastic experience: We had an excellent experience with D2L! The staff was so helpful booking us in and finding convenient driving times as well. The driving instruction was excellent and while the tips certainly helped with the driver’s exam (passed the first time!), the teaching was definitely geared towards safe driving for every day! I would highly recommend this program and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Having my girls drive in Red Deer vs Lacombe gave them a far larger learning environment and experiences on how to handle different situations. Carl was phenomenal with both my girls and was easy to talk to and answer any questions that were asked. Would strongly recommend D2L in Red Deer to anyone.

Negative experience: Terrible experience from start to finish with this company. Major lack of communication between the company and driving instructors. The instructor didn’t realize we were in Penhold and that I’d need to have my daughter at a pick up/drop off spot in town. I corrected him on that(sent him the part of the registration that says otherwise) after paying another fee each time she was picked up, her drive times have been so incredibly dragged out that there’s no consistency with her learning. Instructor has now “bumped” her last few drive times because she needs more practice. We paid all this money to have someone teach our daughter because our schedules don’t allow a lot of time. I do not recommend this company!

Fantastic experience: D2l was easy to work with and provided great service. Al was a confident, knowledgeable and friendly instructor. He communicated clearly to me as a parent about my son's abilities and progress. My son felt comfortable with him and enjoyed his driving lessons. My son was well prepared and passed his driving exam handily. I confidently recommend Al a a driving instructor.

Positive experience: *** update*** Carl was very accommodating and was able to schedule my daughter in to complete her lessons within 2 weeks. I can now schedule her road test before the summer is over. Much appreciated!! *** My daughter finished her classroom lessons at the end of April 2023. Since then, we have only had 3 in-car driving lessons over 2.5 months (July 17, 2023). I don't find this to be acceptable and was expecting her to be able to take her test during the summer months. I will update my review if this improves. I just received a response to my email so fingers crossed the frequency and attention improves.

Fantastic experience: I had Kieran and he was a great instructor. He really taught me a lot and was very nice and kind while doing so!! It was a great experience that really helped me succeed.

Fantastic experience: good instructors,teach professionally and quickly. I also advise you to try with several instructors, because everyone has a different technique, and you will find what suits you best.

Fantastic experience: Both of our children had an excellent experience with D2L. They took their driver’s education in winter with Tamantha. Tamantha was kind but honest with them and with us. She was in frequent contact to update us on how our children were progressing. We highly recommend D2L for drivers education.

Positive experience: Our daughter had a great experience with D2L. She had Kieren and really appreciated him and found he was kind and helpful.

Negative experience: Do not waste your time, zero communication between office employees and drivers in the field. My daughter was due to finish in November and still no return communication as to when they are going to finish her training. Carl/Ramona have been of no help on 4 different calls. No return calls and office staff are not willing to help. A waste of 800 dollars!!! Go elsewhere!!!

Fantastic experience: I had Al as an instructor, had i not had him i probably would not have learned to drive or gotten my license. He worked with me and my driving anxiety, including doing 1 hour driving lessons opposed to 2 hour lessons to help me with that anxiety. Would hands down recommend, especially to those with anxiety over driving

Negative experience: I was followed and harassed by your driver named Keiran. He apparently didn't like my driving then proceeded to follow me home and threaten me. After getting home he still would not stop following me at which point the I had to call the police for my safety he did all of this while his driver sign was on top of the vehicle. Please do not let this creep teach your kids. I am young pregnant women who he followed home and got out of his car to threaten even with a company name on the vehicle extremely dangerous individual and he would not leave until the police forced him

Negative experience: My son spent a good amount of time with this organization. Spent the entire fees for the course, attended the two full days in-class and went for in-car training. Final result is, this institutions saying they don't have any documentation shows his attendance. I had to provide all the related documentation to prove his attendance. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Would definitely recommend D2L. Affordable compared to other companies and Carl was great and helped me perfect my driving to get ready for the test. I passed my class 5 first try with only 1 mistake.

Fantastic experience: We looked around at all the companies when it came to registering our daughter for drivers ed. We are 110% happy with D2L Driver Ed. Our daughter had Al as in instructor and said he was so easy going and comfortable to drive with that it made the whole experience awesome. 3 of her friends also went to D2L and said the same thing. Great experience and all 3 passed with flying colors when it came to obtaining their licence. I 110% recommend D2L for drivers ed.

Fantastic experience: I had few classes with Kayle and I pass my Advanced class 5, he is very experienced and very calm. Highly recommended to prepare your driving test at D2L.
