Positive experience: Being aware that I needed to upgrade my driving skills, and also being required to take the Enhanced Road Assessment Test, I purchased the “seniors package” from Wallace Driving School. With the help of Larry Quigley—a very helpful and knowledgable instructor— I was able to pass the driving test, and retain my drivers license. I highly recommend, and I would definitely utilize the services of the Wallace Driving School in the future

Negative experience: I can't imagine taking driving lessons from this instructor when they drive aggressively and tailgate in the instructor vehicle. Really great advertising for your safe driving instruction.

Fantastic experience: I took lessons with Wallace Driving School to prepare for my “N” road test. They took me from a timid, inexperienced driver to a confident one within a couple of lessons. My instructors made sure I had plenty of practice and preparation for exactly what the road test would be like. Their driving instructors were patient and easy to talk to, I always looked forward to my driving lessons!

Negative experience: The lessons are so outdated and the teachers of the online classes were so uninterested in teaching.

Negative experience: This driving school had a student driving all over the road going very slowly after cutting me off almost hitting me as I was coming through the intersection. I tried to say something to the driving Instructor like maybe this girl needs to practice in a parking lot before the street and the instructor gave me the middle finger and started swearing at me. I tried calling the business and it was the number to the instructor and he hung up on me. Highly unprofessional driving instructor and business.

Negative experience: Not only did they discriminate my daughter for not having the vaccine and said she would discriminate her even if she was unable to get it for health reasons, but also the owner called me back to get mad at me for not agreeing with their new policy which requires the students to be vaccinated. She was beyond unprofessional in the conversation and had no reason to call me back as I said I'd take my money elsewhere. No other driving schools have this policy so we are happy to give our money to them.

Positive experience: 4.5 out of 5 stars from us [BUT SEE ADDITIONAL NOTE AT THE END]. My two kids went through the “Premium GLP course” over the last year, and it was really excellent. 30 years ago, I went through Young Drivers’ program, in which I gained a lot of value and life-long smart habits. Wallace Driving School’s approach appeared to be equally good, and I’m very happy we decided to get the help of a school, rather than only teaching our kids ourselves. From this school we had great customer service, excellent training, smart communications, and prefer to support a local company. [ADDITIONAL NEW NOTE: I recently have read troubling accusations that the owner Steve Wallace has made several young women very uncomfortable, due to inappropriate comments and behaviour. Because of this I would NOT recommend this school! We had only positive experiences, but that may have been due to the particular instructors we had. We didn’t have the owner Steve Wallace as an instructor.]

Fantastic experience: Based on recommendations from 2 friends, we signed our daughter up with Wallace for her driving lessons. We could not be happier with the results. The instructors were all very helpful and professional. Out daughter is now a confident new driver and she passed her road test for her N her first try. Negative experience: Walking across a cross walk today and a driver turns in front of a bus and almost runs me and my daughter down. Great advertisement for your business... 3 people witnessed and commented how unprofessional it was. I hope the driver see’s this.

Fantastic experience: My father is 87 and a fantastic driver although he has the same minor bad habits many of us do. Wallace Driving School prepared him for his ICBC enhanced road assessment instigated by his doctor. Dad still has his license for at least another year because of Wallace Driving School coaching him on changing bad habits and educating him on what the ICBC folks are looking for. I would say these folks are a must for seniors in this situation.

Fantastic experience: This driving school is amazing! I just passed the first time I had the test for N. I had six teachers for 8 lessons (which included Mr. Wallace himself) and they were all amazing. I passed because of them and I have to give credits for them for giving me a lot of practice, pointers, and tricks to do all the parking perfectly! Thank you for this driving school and I'm very grateful that we picked the right school!

Fantastic experience: Best driving school in town! Really. I had a great experience doing my driving lessons and test through Wallace Driving School. The instructors are all exceptional and I felt safe, confident, and competent as I learned how to drive. They also did a GREAT job of managing tests with the COVID shutdown. My original test was in April and they booked me in as soon as they could (without even asking) when ICBC re-opened. If you're looking to do driving lessons, go with Wallace. Not only do they offer you an excellent service, but they take care of the community and their employees as well.

Fantastic experience: I needed lessons for my road test on very short notice, and we were able to book them with ease. Without Wallace driving school, I would not have passed my road test. Could not thank you more for your professionalism and teaching skill. The owner even called me afterwards to wish me luck on my road test! Fantastic company, would recommend it to any drivers worried about their road test; in the first lesson, I already felt exponentially more prepared for my test, and with four lessons, I passed with flying colours. Fantastic experience: John is the best instructor that ever lived on Vancouver Island. Also the school has over 100 years of experience as the owners father was a driving instructor and so is he! So yeah, that's like 116 years of experience without calculating the other Wallace staff's years of teaching. Send your kid this way my friends!! Send em this way..yes this way...this is the right way..correct!!!u passed, good good!

Fantastic experience: Wade, Wade and Larry were all great. I went to two other schools before and didn’t have success. They are calm, straightforward and very friendly. They also didn’t just drive me through the course area, they took me all around Victoria to show me everything I could see, I felt I was prepared for the test and also an overall better driver. Overall, highly recommend. Great people there.

Fantastic experience: The teachers here are actually ex high school/elementary school teachers. This is Sam Lund from the GLP course that I took four months ago at this school. John was my in car instructor and his memory was insane as he taught me. He remembered all my flaws and reminded me even after a week between my last lesson without even noting it on paper. Top notch guy. He is truly amazing and full of raw impeccable talent but I am sure he wont be a examiner any day soon. He is too good at his job as a guide. Gotta stay positive, eh. He even admitted it to me that he likes his job more than the dark ICBC criticizing scene. If you want someone to strengthen you, he is the person. Also, the lady named Deborah was a near perfect in class teacher. I had many teachers in my life but she stood out the most because she kept her cool in the most challenging times. Many could not control the class like she did. My father is a teacher in the Navy and Deborah is far more poised than he is and also she helps me stay engaged by watching closely to my eye movements. She brought out a lot from me at all the right times to make sure I stayed focused. She is a classroom genius. I wounder how she marked me? I bet she did her best. Overall, all the experiences I had with all the examiners and teachers were unforgettable but I do get nervous in the car so that will make me blurt out too much information and bore people. I am a nervous person so if you are like me then this school is a good fit for you because they always can keep you ice cool. Thanks guys! A true educational masterpiece. Much thanks and appreciation. Won't find a better place to learn on planet earth. Cheers!! Yes!

Fantastic experience: John is the best instructor in Victoria and he works here! He taught me! The school is the oldest running school in British Columbia. I took many lessons here and did my research and this school takes the most pride and cares for the students more than the rest. You are never treated like a number here. Try them! They will help in all areas and you will be way more sharp learning here.

Fantastic experience: I had lessons with both of the Wades. Their instruction really helped me improve my control of a car, and helped me become vigilant of things on the road that I wouldn't have otherwise been.

Fantastic experience: Feeling so very grateful for having gone with Wallace Driving school. The instructors (no matter who I had) were exceptional and taught me so much. I passed my Level 7 with great confidence and feel so safe and secure on the road, I will definitely go with them again when I take my road test for my class 5. I am an older learner/driver and they never let me doubt myself even once. I think every driver should take lessons with this company - even just to shore up your skills. I can’t say enouch positive things about this driving school, thanks so much!

Negative experience: Pompous and arrogant

Negative experience: So sick of this pompous idiot. Preaching on the news tonight about driving in the snow. Complaining how people are constantly breaking. As if he has a clue about driving in snowy conditions. Maybe 3 years ago when one of his instructors and students drove over my puppy and murdered her without stopping, they might have considered breaking then! Never even had the courtesy to stop to see how she was, and they knew they hit her when i called them to find out. Imagine such a person teaching others to drive!!! Makes me sick.

Fantastic experience: My daughter needed a "boost" after failing her first attempt and just prior to her second attempt of taking her N license. Wallace Driving was amazing - helping her with her confidence, sharing tips with her and making her feel she was ready to go. She passed with one "demerit" and knew exactly what she had forgotten to do based on her one lesson with Wallace. The office matched her personality with one of their instructors and she enjoyed the experience as did I knowing she was in the right hands. Thank you Wallace!!

Fantastic experience: I got a last minute lesson with Kevin after trying and failing my driving test a couple times already. I was coming from taking the test in Ontario and he completely prepared me for what I was going to experience. He also taught me a way to parallel park that I got immediately and have used since. Although they mostly do packages, I asked if they would do a one-off for me and they made it work. Thanks y'all!

Negative experience: I was looking around for places to take lessons in Victoria and decided to check out Wallace Driving School. Unfortunately, I found the staff to be uninterested in me and somewhat rude. I decided to go with Drive Wise instead. Although they are more expensive the service there is much more exceptional. I was able to get my N after taking 8 lessons with Arthur. Go to Drive Wise if you want professional, caring, service.

Fantastic experience: Coming into driving lessons, I was an anxious driver and I had little confidence in my ability to perform most driving skills. John Hawkins did more than teach me the skills I would need; he inspired the confidence that I was already capable of said skills. He goes above and beyond in making his students comfortable and happy, and I could not recommend him enough as a driver and instructer.

Fantastic experience: Steven and his team were excellent working with my dayghter and dealing with the extremely poorly administered ICBC. Do not underestimate the life of the union driven civil service is live and well at ICBC and I feel for individuals who have to deal with hhese people on a daily basis. You. Eed a champion to stick handle these people and Wallace Driving school has the patience and professionalism to do so.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Wallace driving. I signed my daughter up for lessons to augment the practice driving we were doing to prepare for her N. All the Wallace instructors were excellent coaches and she finished each lesson inflated and more confident about her skills. I received excellent, quick, respectful and helpful customer service from the office and from Mr Wallace and could tell they take great pride in their business. My daughter was successful the first time in passing her N test and I feel confident that she has a safe start to her driving.

Negative experience: My 16 year daughter registered for the package and decided to opt out the teen smart because she read it's not mandatory. After she failed her first test, we were hoping the driving school would give her another lesson, but just because she didn't take the teen smart, the driving school told us that they were done with her. My understanding was that the school takes care of a student until they pass, however, there seems to be a fine print that the student must finish the teen smart in order to get the service. Is this school an insurance company that lays out all the fine details to trick customers? If I could give a rating of no stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: I have used Wallace driving school now for both my kids and I can't say enough about how impressed I am with them. They were incredibly organized, professional, on-time and friendly. If there was any type of concern they were on top of it and I felt that not only were they there to help the kids but the parents too. Both my kids really enjoyed learning from the instructors and passed their tests with flying colors. I would absolutely have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone needing driving instruction

Negative experience: They come down our dead end road to practice driving skills. Last week a student driver hit and killed a neighbour's dog and they didn't even stop. Not impressed.

Fantastic experience: From the first info gathering phone call, Steve Wallace shared his teams experience and efforts to train young drivers safely and knowledgeably. The preparation for young drivers included an optional pre-exam primer that gave our son the confidence to pass the first time. He was particularly proud of the first exam passing rate with standing exam times that made it easy to schedule a driving exam at the only ICBC exam centre.

Negative experience: Not recommended. They sent unmarked small car (Chevy tracker 2-door) while advertising toyota corrolla with glazed stickers. We felt they're short of instructors and vehicles when they tried to reschedule a pre-booked lessons by a week and change previous instructor. They tried to sell as many lessons as they could by citing the example of a lady who took 25+ lessons to get her license. Not customer-friendly attitude!
