Young Drivers of Canada: Des avis
Expérience fantastique: Peter is an exceptional driving instructor. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease and I wouldn't have passed the test without him. He is exceptional and highly recommended.
Expérience fantastique: Online portion does a good job at preparing you before the in person lesson. In person lessons were really well done, and Dariush was a great teacher. Would highly recommend this program for new drivers. Went from feeling nervous/unsure about driving to confident and comfortable. Thanks!!
Expérience négative: NOT WORTH IT.. There are more and better driving schools with affordable and better quality of teaching than this company. They are overbooked, overpriced, and understaffed. They don't give you tips and tricks in driving. NOT WORTH EVERY PENNY! I would recommend you to look into Globe driving academy in st clair w. A thousand reviews with almost 5 stars!

Expérience négative: I did Young Drivers back in 2018. My driving instructor -- I think her name was Kelly? -- was rude and dismissive. A real piece of work. However, I had a couple lessons with another of the instructors -- Dariush -- and he was superb.
Expérience négative: The in car was driving instructor was great Bill! however the Customer service was HORRIBLE. we were not told when we signed up that you have to meet the driver at his designated spot for the in car lesson. We had to drop off and pick up at this location 15 min from our home. It took 6 months to complete the in car lessons as they are limited on drivers and our son went 4-6 weeks between lessons. His final lesson, we were sent an e-mail that our son would be picked up from the house at 10:30(in car test was 12:15) by 10:43am the instructor never arrived. We called him, his e-mail from head office said the pick up spot was at a different location. Bill arrived at 11:12 at our house. MY son lost 42 min of in car lessons before test. Albeit, my son passed however I wanted compensation for the 42 min lost and was wanting that time to put towards a highway driving in car lesson, that I was happy to make up the price differential, I was given a hard no, "your son passed, we won't compensate the difference. so, YD could have made additional money for the highway lesson and requested a discount for for the 42 min lost and had another client from our other child,...now another company will. DON'T DO IT....go elsewhere! again Bill in car teacher was great but the Customer Service, is a hot mess. Find a company that picks up from home, there's many, our work schedules had to revolve around this company with no respect for my son's school schedule. don't do it
Expérience positive: I liked YD. Although, once I got to the in-car lessons my instructor (bald) was sooo rude, he seemed like he didn't want to teach me anything, gave me a bad rating on EVERYTHING after each lesson. He made me more anxious on top of already being slightly anxious being behind the wheel. He was straight grumpy the whole time. Even yelled at me for minor mistakes. I had to pretend I broke my arm before my next lesson because I was so full of anxiety :( A few weeks later I switched instructors and told them the truth. I was with Darius and he was much nicer & patient. I had a better rating on everything after just one lesson. I felt so calm driving. I passed my G2 on the first try. Thank you.:) I wish I could give a 1 star rating and a 5 star but 3 will do
Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience at Young Drivers. My instructor Bill was extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely the best driving school.
Expérience négative: All the contact points published for YD Canada resolve to the national call center and they refuse to provide contact information for the local franchisee. The call center however, doesn't reply to eMails and the managers there do not respond to voice messages for them. There is no customer service culture.
Expérience fantastique: My driving instructor Peter helped me feel more comfortable driving especially on the highway. He taught me a lot about how to be safe while driving and I now feel confident in my skills
Expérience fantastique: Bill has been a great driving instructor! His approach to teaching has been extremely beneficial when learning how to drive.
Expérience fantastique: Passed my G2 test on the first try thanks to my amazing instructor Peter who prepared me
Expérience fantastique: My driving instructor helped me gain confidence needed to drive safely.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent driving school! My instructor was patient, friendly, and helpful. Clearly very aware of good teaching methods for safe driving. Would recommend.
Expérience fantastique: Excellent experience with my instructor, Peter, who helped me gain confidence and clarity while driving. Young Drivers' defensive driving philosophy is extremely valuable in facilitating road-safe habits.
Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience with young drivers. My instructor Bill was very nice and helped me become a more confident and safe driver. I have learned a lot with the program and feel very prepared to take my road test.
Expérience fantastique: My driver Darius was very professional and an amazing teacher. I was very anxious while driving and he helped me gain my confidence while teaching me all the rules of the road. Thanks to him, i passed my road test on the first try. Would recommend this business to anyone.
Expérience fantastique: Hi guys. This is the best driving school in Canada. I am so satisfied with their service. They went above and beyond what they had to do. My instructor, Rod, was knowledgable and passionate. He corrected me without raising his voice and he was such a great source of road tips. I highly recommend them. I actually went with YD instead of a cheaper option and all I can say is "you get what you pay for." Kudos to Rod and YD. You guys are truly excellent.
Expérience fantastique: Cut my teeth on the rules of the road at this Young Drivers of Canada back in the 90s. They're simply the best if you want your child to learn the proper way to drive + the rules of the road. Their defensive driving (aka smart!) methodology has stuck with me for 20+ years and I still, whether I realize it consciously or not, employ their teachings for safer driving. Now I have a family and cannot think Young Drivers enough for inculcating in me the proper, strategic and safe way to drive such that I keep my loved ones safer on the roads in a time when it seems drivers are more selfish, unsafe and aggressive than ever. Sounds like I did get old, doesn't it? ;) Control traffic around with your braking folks, leave ample road ahead of you for stopping, always check your mirrors for escape routes, and all that wonderful jazz! #drivinglessons #drivingschool #youngdrivers #youngdriversofcanada
Expérience fantastique: My daughter Eunice pass her G2 today. Greg Laszlo is amazing instructor very patiently teaching my daughter. My daughter enjoy his company, she learn the right of way in driving. I Express my appreciation to Greg for all the help. Young drivers is highly recommended school.
Expérience fantastique: All the instructors are amazing, they are very thorough about every lesson they teach. They address the whole class and interact with everyone making sure everyone understands and answering any questions students might have. The driving instructor I have is awesome. They work on making sure students are prepared for driving and passing the road tests. They are very informative about driving and going into more details of how to drive safe and spotting any problems. I highly recommend Young Drivers for anybody no matter what age. They are by far the best instructors for anyone wanting to learn how to drive.A+++
Expérience fantastique: I had a great experience with young drivers of Canada. My course teacher was great, he taught very well and was very kind to the students. Absolutely no problems, I definitely recommend:) my driving instructor was also great! Very good instruction and very nice, always right on time
Expérience fantastique: The in class lessons are pretty good and teach unique defensive driving techniques. They also offer very flexible packages so that you can attend once a week, every weekend, or even for a week during the summer or March break. They make it really easy to get your 20 in class hours and I have to admit I learned a lot even though I thought I knew the road rules very well. As for the IN CAR lessons, they were so much fun and a great learning experience for me. My instructor Bill was super confident and calm with me. I have never met a man so collected while driving w a new driver. He's also a very enthusiastic coach who will explain things to you in a clever way so that you will never forget. I still remember his "a car is like a kid at a carnival" metaphor as he taught me to inch the car up to the centimeter with slight ankle movements. This helped me with parking and stop signs etc. The first 5 lessons are very information heavy but the last 5 one hour lessons are usually dedicated to strengthening your weaknesses. This also depends on how quickly you grasped the first 5 lessons info. This course undoubtedly covers everything you would want to know even highway driving and tricks for avoiding the yellow light switching on you. Lastly I would like to address the price difference compared to other driving schools in etobicoke. This school is 10/10 worth it simply because the instructors will not be "creepy" nor will they EVER cancel on you. When you book a lesson they will be there 5 min early waiting for you. Not to mention it is super easy to book a lesson with your instructor as they end up providing you with the office booking line and their own personal line as well. Great school. I have never regretted this decision. It's been a full year since I attended the school and I have been accident free and am about to get my full G license next month :)
Expérience négative: The only reason I’m giving this two stars is b/c the in-class lesson was convenient to my schedule, and had a good instructor. I still apply some lessons I learned from it. The in-car lesson however was a terrible experience. I had Kelly as my in-car instructor. My G1 was expiring soon (my fault I admit), but she suggested I rush to do my G2 test when she found out it was expiring (I didn’t mind doing the G1 test all over again so that I can take my time with the in-car lessons). As a result I was pressured to do extremely well during each lesson in a short amount of time (in a span of 2 months). The rush in learning everything in a short amount of time resulted in me failing my first attempt at my G2 road test. She was very tough during each lesson. There was never a time I felt comfortable driving with her or driving at all. One minor mistake she would yell or be snappy at me. She was not personable, and did not try to get to know me or ease my nervousness, as it was very evident that I showed anxiousness behind the wheel. Multiple times she was late picking me up, most importantly on the day of my G2 road test she was 30min late. Her hours were also not flexible. Due to me working full time I was only available during the evening or weekends and it was always a struggle working out an appointment. At the beginning of each lesson she would struggle to remember what we covered or the lesson we needed to work on. I understand that she has multiple students but it showed that each student was not unique or memorable to her. We never practiced general parking (forward or reverse parking). As a result I failed at this during the road test. Going into the road test I felt like she knew I wasn’t going to pass and kept on saying, “at least you’ll have one more chance after this,” instead of more encouraging, positive words. Overall experience with her was bad. She would give little positive feedback and did not feel genuine. After every lesson I felt like a failure. And every time I had a lesson coming up I would feel so dreadful and unenthusiastic about it. After failing my G2 road test, I had to switch driving schools, as each additional lesson was very expensive, and I could not stand my instructor anymore. Once I switched schools and instructors, holy cow the experience was night and day. It was only then I was able to pass my G2 with flying colours. Do not take this driving school. Don’t wast your money. There are other, more affordable, government approved, great driving instructors out there.
Expérience négative: The instructor I initially had that was also my in-class teacher had a van, and my blind spot was massive and I voiced my concern to him. Right from the beginning (before I even started driving), he said I need more lessons and to practice with my parents' car (my parents don't have a car). He proceeded to talk down to me throughout the lesson - telling me about how his wife is also asian and doesn't drive well like I do, and it took her a long time to learn. In-car he would be managing the breaks the entire ride and wanted me to just steer - how am I supposed to learn like this? Also - my first in-car lesson wasn't in a parking lot.. It was directly on the road - not just any, he picked me up at Dundas Square. After a handful of lessons with him I felt like I learnt nothing and wasted my money. I moved homes and thus was given a new instructor. His car was smaller, easier to handle, and he was a nice guy. I should have had him from the beginning, would have learned a lot and much more quickly. I went in for my scheduled G2 test but the Young Driver's Head Office made a mistake - I showed up ready to take a test that wasn't my scheduled time. The alternative time they had written in, did not work for me. Their suggestion was either the week or week or two after on a Monday, otherwise not until August. I needed a license as soon as possible. I told them Monday is difficult for me and I wasn't sure - they said it was best if I booked anyway to reserve my spot and let them know ahead of time. They were also unable to accommodate what I paid for (lessons prior to the G2 Test as a refresher due to my instructor being unavailable prior to this newly scheduled Monday appointment). I found out Friday evening that 100% I was unable to make this appointment time. I expressed this to my instructor and he told me to call the Head Office - they were already closed. They are closed on weekends. I had no choice - I had to miss this appointment. The woman who called me in regards to this had a very angry and irritated tone with me. I told her my priority was to be at work if I am on on-call because I cannot afford to miss any shifts when living paycheck to paycheck and trying to make up for the money lost on this expensive school. I had already earned my certificate but she told me I would get charged an extra $100+ and would need to pay $600+ if I wanted to work with the same instructor and use his car for the G2 Test. I was crying on the phone. She had no empathy. Just might as well be belittling me throughout the entire conversation. Are you kidding me. This is how you handle and treat cases like this? Ever since this encounter I have discouraged every one I know from attending this school. A complete waste of money. I could have went to any other school to obtain the same education and probably would have had better customer service as well.
Expérience positive: FIRE KELLY! SHE SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO TRAIN ANYONE. In class instructor was great. The in car instructor Kelly was snappy and barky. Makes you feel worse after each lesson like you've learned nothing. Not someone who should be instructing driving.
