Fantastic experience: I have a few years driving experience in UAE and was going for the class 5 road test (passed first try with 3-4 90 min lessons). Myself not having driven in Vancouver streets before, Perry was an absolute titan; he knew all the tricky spots having been an examiner himself, gave representative mock road tests, marks deductibles were explained from an examiner's perspective, and his rates are honestly one of the best around (light pocket for students like myself, highly recommend). Not only does he know the insides and outsides of the point grey tricky areas, his explanations are on-point, courteous, and he hones in on your mistakes politely as you drive. 6/5 if I could. Thanks Perry, keep rocking.

Fantastic experience: Perry is a fantastic instructor! He's super patient and dedicated to making sure you become the best driver you can be. Even though I've been driving for 15 years, I found that lessons would be necessary to get used to the BC transit rules and laws. I went with the 3-lesson, 90-minute package. However, I felt better having one more lesson to be totally confident. He was able to accommodate that extra lesson at the last minute, which I really appreciated. I passed my road test on the first try with a clean score! Thank you so much, Perry :)

Fantastic experience: Perry is the absolute best. I wish Google let me give 10 stars out of 5. He really knows what he’s talking about and you can just tell he’s an expert. I took 2 lessons with Perry and he was so accommodating and responsive with scheduling although he’s a one-man operation. 100% helped me pass the road test and fine tune the details. I had a different instructor previously and I failed the first try for class 5. When preparing for my second try, I found him on Google and contacted him. He gives the best advice and was going above and beyond to answer my questions outside of lesson hours. I really feel like he cares about his students and I think my driving has definitely gotten better after the lessons, so he definitely gives advice applicable to regular driving and not just the road test. Will surely recommend taking lessons with Perry to my friends!

He is so experienced and patient with you and he can teach you everything you need to know to be a safe and predictable driver and to pass your road test! He also adjusts to your driving level and is willing to add lessons if you need to practice more for the road test and build your confidence. He gives scenarios that you may experience on the road so that you are able to handle them properly, which is really helpful for new drivers. I am so glad I had Perry as my driving instructor! Because of him I passed and got my N!

Fantastic experience: I am a newcomer to Canada and I didn't think I'd need driving lessons again because I have been driving for the last 29 years. However, I had been hearing from so many friends that they failed the road test so I decided to get the services of Perry from New Day Driving School. Perry was very accommodating, easy to coordinate with and very generous with his time. I had 3 refresher lessons with him and used his car for the test (because one needs a car with Learner's Insurance to take the test). I would have failed if not for Perry's lessons and tips. I appreciated how he practiced me through the different test routes in Point Grey and critical things examiners would probably be looking for. When I passed, I asked Perry if I could give him a hug because he had been my best friend and teacher for the last 3 days. I will forever have his voice in my ear telling me to "slow down, slow down" or "you've got to come to a complete stop at the sign" or "shoulder check!" as I drive through the streets of Vancouver (and the rest of North America!) with my Class 5 BC license. Fantastic experience: Perry taught my sister and I and we both succeeded on our Class 7 tests. Since Perry is a former driver examiner, he offers great insight in terms of test routes and situations that may arise on the road. He was very clear regarding ICBC’s marking criteria and what the examiner will be expecting for a successful test. Perry also teaches in a calm and friendly manner. Fantastic experience: I am a newcomer to Canada who drove sometimes in my home country. I needed to convert my Hong Kong license to a local class 5 one, and I did five 90-minute lessons with Perry within the two weeks before my road test. I am happy to report that I just passed my road test in mid-December at Point Grey ICBC on my first attempt, and I feel very confident to drive safely on Canadian roads now. Perry runs this driving school as a single-person business and he is a very experienced and knowledgeable educator. He worked as an ICBC examiner so he certainly knows common pitfalls in the road test. He also mentioned that he has been working as an instructor for some time but Google cleared his old account with all the positive reviews, so people might mistake his business as a newly established one. Please remember to take a look at his very organized and informative website for tips. I would certainly recommend Perry to all my friends who are learning to drive or converting their licenses since he is a responsible instructor who goes the extra mile for his students (literally). As a result, no doubts remain uncleared at the end of each lesson. Also, the price of driving lessons is very reasonable compared to the larger driving schools that my friends have attended. Perry commented that I might be a rare student who needed fewer lessons than usual, and if I had risked it I might have even passed the road test after one lesson (maybe because I had done 70 hours of simulated driving on a programme called City Car Driving before coming to Canada). However, I felt that taking five 90-minute lessons was just the right amount for me to accumulate experience behind the wheel and learn everything I need to be a safe driver here. Accidents are costly so it is best to err on the side of caution. Perry is accurate and concise in his feedback and explanations, and he would not recommend his students to take the road test if he thinks they are not ready. Students can trust his judgement in the number of lessons required.

Fantastic experience: If you're planning on taking your road test at ICBC's Point Grey location, I can't recommend Perry highly enough. I had learned to drive on my own with my brother, and took a lesson with Perry to brush up on my skills ahead of my test. He's super knowledgeable and knows the Point Grey area like the back of his hand - he showed me all the tricky spots that can fumble new drivers and worked with me to practice navigating them well, and helped me reinforce key skills that you're expected to nail on your road test. I appreciated his direct feedback approach - both offering positive reinforcement on things I did well, and constructive, honest feedback for things I needed to work on if I wanted to pass. I'm super glad I took lessons with him - with his guidance I managed to pass my test on my first try - thanks Perry!

He will also assess you if you are ready, which I believe is really helpful for the student. Had a previous instructor and failed three times, but with Perry I finally passed my road test. Fantastic experience: I've had several different driving instructors and tried 3 or 4 different schools. Perry's was by far my favourite experience. He was super thorough, made it a point to repeat routes and techniques until I understood, and really went the extra mile with every class. Fantastic experience: Perry of New Age Driving School is a wonderful teacher and a great person. We hit it off immediately. I had previously failed my test 3 times with various instructors over the last 10 years. Perry got me over the line on the first try. Perry's years of experience as both an instructor and examiner were immediately obvious. I've never received instruction from anybody as cool, calm, and knowledgeable as he is. I was searching for recommendations and reviews for a long time before I settled on Perry. I spoke with a few other schools but I knew after one phone call that Perry was the right fit for me. He cares about what he's doing, and he can be as laid back and as personable as you'd like. A super interesting dude. The only thing I regret is not being able to chat more during lessons! I got my N with New Day Driving and will be back in 2 years for my full license test, no question.

He has smart techniques that make parallel parking and reverse stall parking easy to maneuver (with practice). He was also once an examiner so he knows the ins and outs of what it takes to pass!
