Fantastic experience: Shawn White is the best instructor. I got the Best Z Training program. Appreciate you and your team
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at CHEC training. From the team in the office/classroom to Dan at the pit i found everyone to be friendly and very helpful with any questions i had. Finished my classes/training feeling much more confident on each piece of machinery. I would highly recommend CHEC to anyone looking to move forward in a career in heavy equipment operation.
Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience at CHEC Training, Shaun! We're thrilled to hear that our team, from the office to the classroom and the pit, made your time with us both enjoyable and informative. It's great to know that you left feeling more confident on the equipment—building that confidence is exactly what we're here for. We truly appreciate your recommendation and wish you the best of luck as you advance in your heavy equipment operation career. If you ever need anything else, don't hesitate to reach out!
Negative experience: The heavy equipment program is absolutely worthless. Maybe in the past it was better but it's a total cash grab now. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The "pit" is like a acre since the owner of the land is trying to make it farmland and took up most of the original pit. The machines are extremely old and will not equip you with the knowledge for any company that isn't operating back in the 90's. They will lie to you in the orientation with false statistics. They promise to make a resume for you but they will 100% lie about what you learned making you look like a liar on a work site. I recieved my resume and some of the stuff they put on it that they said I was competent at I had never done or was directed to do or taught to do. The books for the "observation" (funny how you don't actually observe anything) are torn to bits with pages missing. They even said for the week of in class learning they cut a significant portion of it to save time. Don't expect a job. You'll have to become a labourer and work your way up (unless you're a woman or a visible minority) which makes this school entirely pointless. Overall the heavy equipment college of Canada is a scam and should be driven out of business because it's a horrible institution. Nothing is redeemable about this place.
