We think our driver trainer Stan said it best when he told the Drive Test Examiner (polietly) the following: "we no train for your test, we train for life!"
That statement embodies who we are and our mission.
We dont spend two weeks or more in a class room! Our students come to us so that we can teach them how to operate the equipment so as to keep themselves and the motoring public safe and that is what we do.
Depending on the course you have chosen you are going to spend some time in the class room and its important that you do but once your in class in done (maximum one week), its all truck time after that.
Afterall your not paying us to teach you to drive a desk!

Fantastic experience: If anyone is actually looking for a school to teach them how to not just drive but fully operate a truck, there isn't anywhere better to go. Ben and his team take care of their trucks and equipment to make sure you always have some reliable to train on. Stan is the best instructor I've had by far and he actually cares about you and how your learning all the different materials especially when it comes to driving and rule and regulations of the road. I've been to other transport driving schools and left them to come here and I will tell you without a doubt don't train anywhere else you can't go wrong with Ben, Stan and the team here at North American. Best choice I've made. Thanks again guys!

Fantastic experience: I passed my AR test first try and received my Z endorsement thanks to these guys! Their admin Jodie is a gem. She knows the industry front to back and works with you through every step of the process. Both their instructors - Stan and Arden were fantastic, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. It's exciting to hear the plans this team has for the company, so keep an eye on this training school. I have the utmost faith in the future of this school. Anyone who hasn't jumped at this opportunity because of worries can rest easy knowing they're in great hands. The whole crew is a cut above the rest! 10/10 from me.
Jodie is the rock for the Company, there is no doubt about that. She can run a truck, forklift, deliver groceries off the back of a truck and she makes sure that the school runs as it should. Stan is a former student from 16 years ago when he was fresh from Ukraine! He has never left us. Drove truck for us across Canada and the US and has taken on every task we have ever given him. Arden is a new and welcome addition! He is the real deal because not only can he drive them but he can fix them as well. Here is a guy that is not afraid to get his hands dirty and that experience benefits every student! Just like Stan, we are sending Arden off to school to continue his transition from driver to instructor! Tyler between Jodie, Stan and Arden you received your education from people who would have never have compromised on the quality of education you recieved. Fantastic experience: I am a recent graduate from this School, and I will say the GM Jodie was absolutely phenomenal in all of the setup , and gave great support during my course. Stan, the Senior Instructor was very knowledgeable, and and a great Teacher. Arden, the second Instructor, also was excellent in his training abilities, and driving experiences. I highly recommend this School to anyone wishing to get their Commercial Truck License.

Fantastic experience: They’ve individual training schedules, no one other than your trainer while traing. They not only teach to drive trucks but they teach all aspects about this career. And most Importantly they get jobs right away you get your license. I got my license by training from them on 3 January,2023 and I was driving truck for big company by 10 January,2023. Excellent service.

Fantastic experience: Jodi - Stan - Ted There’s nothing I can say that the other reviews haven’t already said. You couldn’t ask for more Precise, caring, and motivating individuals! Each piece of that puzzle fits together perfectly. You have Stan that can answer any question you ask him!(With sound effects! Lol) - you have Ted that doesn’t skip a beat when it comes to fundamentals! And you have Jodi who basically does it all.. literally. They are passionate, dedicated and disciplined and strive to ensure that the students are educated to the highest levels. We need to do everything we can to avoid another Humboldt. Fantastic experience: Kingston Location - Great staff goes above and beyond to help you learn at your pace. They will do everything possible to help you succeed. It’s well worth the money. There’s a lot of shady training centres, this not one of them.
Fantastic experience: Between Stan, Ted, and Jodie, they did way beyond the minimum to help me achieve my DZ license in record time. Ted teaches theory with hands on learning materials and lessons that actually make sense. I went into this course with the absolute bare minimum knowledge in automotive parts and how they work together, and left with a truly complete knowledge of engines due to Ted’s teachings, and I am very grateful. Stan was beyond helpful with the Z course and practical driving. He took time to answer all the questions I had (there were a lot of them) and even staying beyond the lesson time to help me with things I didn’t learn right away. When it came to the driving, Stan was patient with me learning the proper inspection procedures and would go through them multiple times with me until I was 100% confident. The pre trip inspections were thorough and explained in a way that actually made sense . Jodie was instrumental in helping me get my new DZ. She not only helped me to find a doctor to do my medical but throughout the program was patient and answered all of my questions through the process. I cannot thank this company enough for all they have done to allow me to journey into this new career with a strong foundation of knowledge that will help me truly excel. Fantastic experience: I normally don't leave reviews of businesses, but feel that I should give credit when it's due. If you are interested in gaining thorough knowledge, as well as your license in truck driving, this place is where you should go. The instructors were very engaging and extremely knowledgeable. The secretary Jodi was an absolute pleasure to deal with and kept me on track and organized the entire way through. Since finishing the program, I have gained full time employment at the organizations that I had originally intended on getting work with. Cheers!
Derek, I dont leave allot of reviews either and normally not a negative one. I preferr, like you, to give credit where credit is due. Your right though, I have the privledge of working with an incredible team of people including Jodie, Stan and Ted and these people need to be recognized and their craftsmanship celebrated! Mohit, you had an amazing road test! Perfect! Zero wrong on all aspects and only 4 pull ups for backing! Seriously! Now you know how you managed that Mohit? Because you worked and worked and worked at it here in the yard. On your own time you would pick out a truck and practice, practice, practice and even the Drive Test Examiner said he has never seen anyone complete a pretrip with the precision and knowledge that you demonstrated today. With a test like that I would have you driving one of my trucks with no issues. And yes you are right Jodie, Dave, John and Stan are top notch. They know their stuff, they don't teach you just to pass that test, they give you a great foundation for a successful future in transportation. Terrific folks to work with! Will, which ever station house you find yourself in when you enter your new career as a fire fighter, the residents where you are stationed will rest easy knowing that you are on duty. I know that simply based on how seriously you took your course. Practice, Practice and more Practice along with studying on your own time to master the skills. Fantastic experience: This academy is very professional if anyone wants to achieve A license. I also got my Class A from here. Everyone worked very hard and I always had access to truck and trailers to practice myslef in yard in my free time. I also got job there. So it is complete package to have training and career. ✌✌✌ I reccomend this institute to those who want to be successful.
Manjot, you attended class every day and were on time with your homework completed! You even came in on your own time to practice your pre trip in the yard. You did very well on all your school exams and as a result you aced your Drive Test and then went on to haul from Kingston to Milton and back and did a great job as a new driver! Fantastic experience: I am currently working on getting my ACZ license with the Kingston branch. The instructors and staff are truly amazing and go far beyond the mere requirements of training you. I have had trouble passing the road test as I freeze during testing. This is not a fault of the school, support or training. In fact they have gone even more beyond to employ me and help me get the confidence to pass with on the job training. I have recommended the school to a number of people in the past few months and will continue to in the future. If anyone is looking for a great fundamental start to a great career then North American Trucking Academy is definitely where I would recommend without hesitation.
Learning takes time and people learn at different rates and in different ways. My goal is to give people who want to enter this industry every opportunity to succeed. With Eugene I challenged him to come in every morning and shadow our drivers with respect to pretrip inspections and help himself and our driving staff improve on the quality of the inspections. Eugene has taken up that challenge and has demonstrated to me his willingness to become a true professional in our field. My hat is off to him for the extra effort he is applying to his studies. This determination to do the job right the first time will serve him well in our industry. Ben
Fantastic experience: I needed a DZ in a hurry for work. The whole staff were able to accomodate and get me to a road test in time. The instructors are excellent and dont count their time. I received above and beyond instructional service. When one instructor was away dealing with paperwork etc another would just jump in and test me. I aced the practical and it is an easy 5 star review from me. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Course content was up to date and instructors took great care in teacher students. Shift board had some confusing stages during the course, however I am sure it will improve with time. Instructors had great knowledge of course content and seemed to care about the students understanding of course material. I would recommend this course to others.
Thanks for the post. Shiftboard (our online scheduling tool) can take a bit of time to get used to and because its up in a cloud somewhere it can go off kilter every once in a while but its the best platform to inform our students regarding their schedule. Course has vastly improved since you were here. It is night and day and we continue to work to improve as often as we can. Thanks Ben

Fantastic experience: Before joining any school for my AZ License, I googled a lot and went to many schools to make a choice. I saw so many awards and bold statements in their website. I thought these are just to attract the students BUT they are genuine and true to the roots. So, I went with these guys and I made it in time and I am now a proud commercial licensed driver. I started with 4 classmates and we all got our AZ license !! I would love to recommend this school to anyone who wants to go for their AZ.

I was under a tight timeline to meet a job posting requirement and the team pulled together to bump up my re-test date, provide some additional information that I didn't receive with a competitor and had me test-ready. Fantastic experience: Past training in the U.S. was nothing compared to the course here. There, I was shown how to drive the expected test route with three days of training in a single axle, automatic vehicle and all written answers handed to me. At North American, I learned much more about safety procedures, log sheets and had lots of time to practice in the truck ... with and without the trailer. Dave's a great instructor ... great experiences with him. Looking forward to applying what I have learned at North American in my career here in Canada.

Fantastic experience: I took my course there over 16 years ago! Never looked back. I was driving the night I passed my test with the MTO. They placed me with Sysco foods and have been driving ever since. I am now an owner/operator with two trucks.. I still call and ask questions and always get a welcoming response and answer ! Always continuing education!

Fantastic experience: I went to North American transport driving academy to take my ACZ license. The instructors were amazing they worked one on one. They worked around my schedule and concentrated on my weak areas where I need more attention. They were all very patient and professional in their teaching. The instructors were Dave, Andy and Robb. They all encouraged me in everything I did. I would recommend North American to anybody that wants to upgrade their license. They are even going the extra mile to find a company that I can drive for . Which is amazing . I don’t know of any other transport driving academy that is better than North American.
Fantastic experience: I went to Crossroads which is now Ontario trucking to get my DZ and I was not happy with their program or their teachers. So I went to North American Transport Driving Academy to get my ACZ. They have best instructors for you to work with one on one. When I wasn't getting along with one of my teachers I talked to the owner Jason about what was going on. Jason made my course very enjoyable because he gave me the instructors that were the best fit for me and there names are Dave and Andy. They have a lot of patience and they are professionals and know what they are doing. North American also has only 1 week of in class. Crossroads has 2 weeks in class so they can save money instead of getting the practice you need for your on road Drive Test. I would recommend everyone that is reading this to go to this school because they will help you find a career even after you have graduated. Now I am going to Kriska for a Entry Level Mentorship and they will pay for my tuition reimbursement and after completion of my apprenticeship they will also give me $2000. North American got me on track for a great and successful career.
Fantastic experience: For anyone looking for commercial driver training in Eastern Ontario, they need not look any further than North American Transport Academy. Jason, Ben, Serge and the entire team went above and beyond at every step of my son’s training. They built a custom program that accommodated his learning disability, succeeding where traditional education had failed. In addition to providing extensive classroom and on-road training, they instilled driver responsibility and self-confidence. When my son struggled with his drivers test because of his disability, they were incredibly non-judgemental, and persevered as if he was family. Their commitment to training safe, successful and professional drivers is clear from the outset, and now my son is one. Not only did this open employment doors for him, it sky-rocketed his self-esteem. The North American Transport Academy is a first class organization, and I give my heartfelt endorsement.
