A Decades-Long Legacy of Excellence in Ottawa

Serving the Ottawa region since 1983, Above The Best Driving School has established itself as a premier choice for driver education. Accredited by the Better Business Bureau with an outstanding A+ rating, the school boasts over 42,000 satisfied customers. Their longevity and high accreditation speak volumes about their dedication to quality and student safety.

Student-Centered Instruction and Patience

The most frequently highlighted aspect of the student experience is the exceptional quality of the instructors. Educators such as Murugan, Muttu, and Surinder are consistently praised for their patience, clarity, and ability to build confidence, particularly for nervous beginners. Rather than relying on a rigid teaching style, instructors adapt to individual learning paces, ensuring that students fully understand the "why" behind driving rules. This personalized approach helps students overcome fears and develop strong defensive driving habits that last a lifetime.

Patience and Empathy: Instructors take the time to explain concepts thoroughly, never rushing the learning process.
Practical Tips: Students receive specific, actionable advice on maneuvers like parallel parking and highway merging.
Confidence Building: A supportive environment that encourages questions and reduces test-day anxiety.

Comprehensive Training and High Pass Rates

Above The Best offers a robust BDE course comprising 20 hours of classroom instruction, 10 hours of in-car training, and 10 hours of home-link training. This comprehensive structure is widely recognized by the insurance industry and helps students achieve significant premium reductions. Many reviews highlight passing their G, G1, or G2 tests on the very first attempt, a testament to the school’s rigorous preparation and the instructors' deep knowledge of MTO exam expectations. The curriculum is designed to be flexible, allowing for efficient completion over weekends or tailored schedules.

Professionalism and Transparent Pricing

The school is renowned for its honesty and integrity. Instructors are commended for providing unbiased assessments of a student's readiness, often advising when no further lessons are needed, which saves students time and money. With reasonable and transparent pricing compared to other local providers, Above The Best Driving School delivers exceptional value. Fantastic experience: Consulted “Above The Best” for my G driving test. I cleared my exam in the first go. Got excellent information as well as suggestions while working on a couple of live sessions. Mr. Murugan is very good trainer and very understanding person. He is very well skilled in his job and highlighted exact expectations of examination with sufficient details. Please don’t ignore what all he emphasizes on. Also, his rates are very genuine and found him honestly commenting whenever he feels one is ready and doesn’t need any further sessions. One Important suggestion from my side, although Mr. Murugan tries his best to accommodate the request, if possible, try to book sessions well in advance to avoid any last minute rush. I thank Mr. Murugan for all his help and support.

Fantastic experience: Mr. Muruga is an amazing instructor and highly skilled professional. This is the first time; I am driving a vehicle. He was given plenty of tips and techniques to handle it properly. His way of teaching was entirely stress-free and smooth, which gives more confidence for driving. So I passed my G2 at the first attempt. My heartfelt thanks to Muruga sir! He focuses on teaching the people for the test. Mr. Muttu explained all the driving rules and regulations in Canada. I highly recommend Mr. Muruga to anyone who wants to be successful in the road test.

He is an exceptionally professional instructor who teaches in a clear and easy-to-understand manner. His rates are very reasonable, and he is always punctual, making scheduling lessons hassle-free. Mr. Muruga excels at building confidence in his students. He is highly cultured and encouraging, helping me pass my G2 test on the first attempt. Unlike other instructors, he doesn't push for unnecessary extra classes. He genuinely assesses whether you need more lessons and provides honest feedback. The driving school, true to its name "Above the Best," lives up to its reputation. Mr. Muruga's commitment to his students' success is unparalleled. I had tried other driving schools before, but none compared to the excellent service provided here. I highly recommend Mr. Muruga to anyone looking to pass their driving test with strong driving skills. Thank you so much for the outstanding instruction and support!
