Fantastic experience: Consulted “Above The Best” for my G driving test. I cleared my exam in the first go. Got excellent information as well as suggestions while working on a couple of live sessions. Mr. Murugan is very good trainer and very understanding person. He is very well skilled in his job and highlighted exact expectations of examination with sufficient details. Please don’t ignore what all he emphasizes on. Also, his rates are very genuine and found him honestly commenting whenever he feels one is ready and doesn’t need any further sessions. One Important suggestion from my side, although Mr. Murugan tries his best to accommodate the request, if possible, try to book sessions well in advance to avoid any last minute rush. I thank Mr. Murugan for all his help and support.

Negative experience: We contacted the office to book my daughter's in car driving sessions. For over 2 months they ignored us - we tried emails /phone. We thought they had gone out of business. We finally got the driving instructor contact info, but then the instructor wouldn't return my daughter's phone calls - they kept saying "I'll call you back in an hour" or "I'll get back to you tomorrow." and the hardly ever did. Their customer support is terrible. It was a very frustrating experience and I'd leave 0 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: My instructor was very helpful. He gave me all the insights into what goes on during the G test which I was practicing for. I highly recommend my instructor Surinder Bhagrath. He is always giving advice into what they will do and how far you should stay from other cars and other information . If you are going for any driving test I highly recommend him for your test and your practice. You will definitely pass.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend "Above the Best" driving school in Ottawa. I recently completed the BDE course with in-car sessions, and my instructor, Muttulingam (Muttu) was exceptional. Despite having no prior driving experience, I successfully passed my G2 road test on the first attempt within a few days of training with this excellent driving school.

Fantastic experience: I was assigned Mr Surinder as driving instructor. I was very skeptical of whether just 10hrs would be enough for learning knowing how scared I am of driving. Mr Surinder mentioned he has an unbroken record of his students not failing ! I didn’t believe it until I passed my G2 with special good comments from examiner about quite a few things. Mr Surinder comes with decades of driving instructor experience. If we put trust in him, he will definitely make sure we successfully pass the test. He has a very keen eye and can anticipate what can happen on road faster than us. It’s good to learn and remember how we should act once we start driving alone Also make sure you follow all his advice and tips. They’re very precious and not all instructors do that. I have learnt from 2 other instructors before him and failed. I’m truly thankful to him for helping me be independent.

Fantastic experience: Did the driving lessons with Muttu. He has complete knowledge of the rules of the road and was able to answer every single one of my questions about driving as well as the road tests. He has a method of teaching that reinforces the necessary habits for driving so it feels almost like second nature after a couple lessons. He has very handy procedures and tricks for all maneuvers (parking, parallel parking, 3-point, etc.). It feels very safe to drive with him, even during the first time on the highway. Took my G1->G2 road test today and was able to pass it without any problem.

He just not sharpened my driving skills also my confidence level. With his guidance and lessons I was able to pass the G2 road test in one try. Fantastic experience: My son just completed his driver's training at Above the Best. I was looking for a school that was affordable, convenient, competent and responsive. These guys met and exceeded my criteria. My son completed the in-school portion over two full weekends. He easily got there on the 88 bus direct from Glen Cairn in Kanata. The class was small and the instructor was excellent - understandable, knowledgeable and personable. He then easily booked his 10 hours of instruction with a gentleman who picked him up at home, did 2 hours at a time in-car, and completed their last session as a dry run at the Walkley Road testing centre. He booked one extra session day-of the test and used the driving instructor's car to complete his G2 road test. The driving instructor was very accommodating and super-responsive, answering my son's phone calls immediately to book his in-car sessions. He's now a G2- licensed driver and I see how competent and confident that he is thanks to Above the Best. I highly recommend this school. A class act.

Fantastic experience: I booked with Above the Best to do my G road test because my G2 was expiring and I only had a few weeks to complete my road test. I’m not an everyday driver and I needed to build road confidence fast. I had my lessons with Surinder, who was patient and gave me good driving tips for defensive driving. I am thrilled to find the school is in business after I returned to Ottawa many years later and I need to retake road test as the old one got expired. I paid for a few sessions with instructor Muttu for my road test preparation to refresh my knowledge/skills and go over the drive test route to build my confidence.
