Negative experience: UPD2: They've just edited the answer removing all the passive-aggressive remarks. There was no apology given. UPD: Jennifer, what is wrong with you? You already have my phone number, you had it since September, you've even called me. Jennifer Knox, centre manager, is a terrible person. I explicitly told her that I have autism and stutter, and it's hard for me to talk. But not only she ignored it, and refused to handle the matter over email-- when I called she asked me to tell her my phone number. And when I proposed to send it in an email, because it's hard for me to speak, she said, verbatim, that I'm doing great. Crazy impolite. I suppose passive-aggressive answers to the reviews here is also Jennifer. And I'm a grown-up. So if your child is even a bit neurodiverse, it is definitely not a place for them. Also, there's no way to file a complaint, their customer service is basically non-existent.

Fantastic experience: Great driving school, Jordan was a very good instructor and nice guy to talk to. He helped me a lot with lessons to get my G2 test. I recommend young drivers to others who want to improve their driving skills for license tests.

Negative experience: The online course was confusing and hard to understand. The time limit meant we lost out on finishing the course and found the staff at YDC unhelpful. A lot of money for nothing.

I thank and recommend Jordan Lewin. He was a great instructor and helped me out significantly. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and was easy to talk to as we did our lessons. My sister also went through Young Drivers a couple years before me for her driving lessons and she has nothing but good things to say about Shawn. Overall I highly recommend Young Drivers and their instructors at the branch in Collingwood. They also let me know that I can use them as a resource if I ever have questions. I will definitely reach out to them for practice for my G test.

Jennifer in the office is wonderful to deal with- prompt replies and very friendly and professional. Shawn taught my eldest daughter to drive 3 years ago and she is a confident and safe driver. Fantastic experience: I can confidently say that my decision to do driving school. With Young drivers was the best decision, I could have ever made my instructor Shawn taught me everything that I need to know and then some and made me more confident in my driving abilities than what I was. He is an amazing person and I trusted him completely down to us humming Christmas Carols in the car while I was driving. Nobody would ever regret their decision doing this with young drivers. And I would gladly go back any day.

Fantastic experience: TLDR: Young Drivers Collingwood is a top tier driving school, you will go from zero to safe driver with their program. I took the YD course online with the G2 road test package from mid 2022 to the beginning of 2023. I had Shawn as my instructor and he was able to turn me from an unconfident, zero experience driver to a capable and safe driver. My very first lesson was also the first time I drove any car, which was not the prettiest since I was like "wow, I am actually driving a car!" and also I had no understanding of how much I needed to turn the steering wheel to make the left and right turns or how much pressure I needed to press the pedals to stop and go. I knew I needed extra lessons after the first lesson, as I was a little slow at grasping it, but I did get better and more comfortable driving with each lesson. Shawn was able to give me useful feedback and advice, telling me what I am doing well in, what I need to improve on, and how I should do certain tasks effectively and safely, such as parallel parking. I was able to get my G2 and my G, both on my first attempt, so I am very thankful for the knowledge and experience that the YD team has provided to me. The staff at YD Collingwood are top tier and I will happily recommend their lessons! I liked the online portion of the lessons, being able to go at my own pace was nice with my schedule. The content was good, which was a mix of reading, video, and interactive based materials. The only problem I had with it was the software experience. At the time, there was no way to purchase extra lessons from my profile (I am not sure if that is still the case now), so I decided to purchase them from the main website. When I did that, it only wanted me to create a new account, which I used my existing email and password for it. I will admit, I should have been a little more careful with that. That being said, the website somehow accepted it as it did not check to see if an existing email was already in the database. This basically caused all sorts of errors with my account since there were two entries of my email and password in the database. Jennifer was able to fix that problem for me so I can finish my online lessons and complete the course. If anyone is reading this and is looking to get extra lessons, please go through Jennifer first. This will prevent login errors from occurring and it will save everyone from potential headaches. Thank you again for the lessons Shawn and the rest of the YD team! I have gained a lot of experience from you all, and I am continuing to use that knowledge for my personal driving. All the best!

Fantastic experience: Taking YD was the best decision I’ve ever made for my daughter and I. This program should be mandatory for every driver in Canada. My instructor Shawn, is extremely knowledgeable and patient. As a woman in her mid/thirties, learning to drive for the first time, I couldn’t have been placed with a better instructor. This program has made me a much better driver and much less nervous. I’ll continue to pass on safe driving habits to family and friends.

For everyone else who is looking for a drivers course and an absolutely amazing instructor, I cannot recommend Shawn enough. No matter the age, he always has your safety in his mind and a plethora of useful methods and advice for the road. It's hard for me to make a brief message on just how helpful and impactful my time with Shawn has been. I have recommended him to countless friends, and even my own parents - he really is that good! He's a calm and knowledgeable presence who is never afraid to tell you if you make mistakes, but always there to help you build yourself up better than ever before. I intend to take more courses with him in future to continually learn and improve. Fantastic experience: I know, I know, a very overdue thank you message to the Young Drivers Team in Collingwood. From the in person classroom lessons (provided with take home notes) to the in car vehicle lessons, the young drivers program was perfect. Shawn Knox was the ideal driving instructor, an absolutely exceptional instructor!! (btw, school’s are always looking for a new Gym Teacher! Haha!). Shawn was friendly, personable, clear with instructions, provided informative answers for questions, very patient, and beyond supportive (no question was ever a stupid question); while presenting himself with an encouraging and professional teaching style. Shawn constantly reassures that making mistakes is normal and expected, as long as you know how to correct them. Shawn excels at confidence building; providing incredible knowledge, while also how to apply that knowledge in different aspects of driving. I'm beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to take the Young Drivers course. I would highly recommend Shawn to any young or older driver. Fantastic experience!! Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Shawn and the whole company. I had my g2 test scheduled for about one month before my first time sitting in the drivers seat. I hadn’t driven a car before getting my lessons from Shawn and he was very patient with me while being a great instructor and teaching me everything he knows about car safety. In the span of a month and a half he took me from a beginner to passing my g2 test with no problems. Can’t thank him and the company enough. Fantastic experience: Just completed the full online course with 10 hours of driving lessons, a 45 minute refresher before my road test and used the young drivers vehicle for my road test. Jennifer was so kind and accommodating when booking my lessons. She booked my G2 road test appointment the same day I asked about it. Shawn was my instructor and he was very knowledgeable and encouraging. I was a new driver with VERY limited experience and I was able to pass my G2 road test on my very first try without paying for anything on top of what I had already purchased. I personally took classes from other driving school as well but this school is amazing and among of that it is best. Fantastic experience: I called Young Driver’s Collingwood a few weeks before my G road test in town to refresh my memory on the things I had learned in Young Driver’s several years ago. He really helped me build my confidence in preparation for the test, and took a lot of the mystery out of what to expect on test day. Fantastic experience: I never had anyone to teach me how to drive so I decided to go with young drivers because I heard alot of good things about them, I started my course Jan 2020 and finished near March, I had shawn for most of my lesson he was a relaxed and great teach he knew what he was talking about, one day before my g2 road test everything got shut down, fast forward to September young drivers was able get me a road test in orillia my preload test and my final in car lesson I had Bob as my instructor and he is as informative as shawn was about road safety and answering any question I had asked.
