Fantastic experience: Went there for classes and the teacher was great in class very helpful and always by your side! When in the car for lessons he can be a little touchy on the steering wheel but for the most part he’s a great teacher and I got my G2 because of him! Thank you KB.

Fantastic experience: I got my G2, as well as my G from this driving school. The value I got out of this program was immense. The skills that were taught by the instructor were very well explained and easy to understand. I attended this class with some friends of mine and all of us passed our driving tests on the first attempt. Communication with the in-car instructor was seamless and I was able to book lessons with ease. The instructor KB is very engaging with his students and cracks jokes to ease any tension that he notices his students may have. I recommend this program to anyone seeking to either get their license, or to someone who just wants to gain more confidence on the road.

His teaching style is really clear, even for tricky stuff. The scheduling was flexible, which worked great with my busy schedule, and KB was always friendly and cool. Thanks to him, I aced my driving test!

Negative experience: My experience with Defensive Drivers was not a good one. During the in-class portion, KB pretty much just played videos and then sat at the back on his phone. He would very quickly speed through the answers on quizzes and did not go over them with us so we could see why we got them wrong. He spent way too much talking about this own life (especially stories that having nothing to do with driving) rather than actually teaching us about driving. Being in the car was even worse. KB makes you get behind the wheel right away, even if you have never been behind the wheel of a car before and he expects you to magically know what you’re doing. He has you start with driving in the city on your very first lesson, instead of going out to country roads and starting with the basics. He never once went over how to actually start/stop the car, as it was always running when I got in and just made me put the car in park at the end. He would constantly tell me to “coast” (take foot off the gas) when I was still a decent number under the speed limit. We rarely went over how to do turns, and we only did parking I believe twice out of 10 lessons. Most of the time we were just driving straight. Just like in class, he sat there on his phone for most of the lesson. KB was almost impossible to get ahold of to book the next lesson, you have to message a few times just for him to message back. I finished back in June but just got around to writing this review. I would not recommend Defensive Drivers to anyone.

Negative experience: My son and I used Defensive Drivers for our drivers ed and it was not a good experience. KB was our teacher and seems to be the only teacher there. In class he didn't go over our work or give us time to go over our wrong answers, which was highly frustrating. In car was the worst experience. Of the 10 hours we spent 6 out of town mostly driving straight. He will suddenly give you instructions in a stressful, urgent, repetitive manner, talk to you as if you should know what you're doing instead of teaching or explaining what is expected of you. He also is constantly grabbing the steering wheel, the whole time, so you don't actually gain experience. He uses the brake for you excessively as well. He only had me parallel park 3 times, and 3 point turn 2 times, out of 10 hours. We only parked in parking spots 6 times. For the mass majority of the time I just drove straight, including in town. At the end of our time he told me I need more in car time and offered for me to purchase more time, as well as my son. I know that is not typically the outcome of good driver training. He is constantly pushing for you to get training with other people, like he counts on other people training you instead of him. When it's time to change lanes he will start urgently saying "Check check check! Signal!! Check your blind spot!! Change lanes now now now!! Put on the gas!!" And then will take the steering wheel and change lanes for you. When making turns through intersections if you're not gaging your turn well, he just takes the steering wheel to make sure you're in the proper lane, then says "You turn too wide. Stay in your lane." But proceeds to do the same every intersection. At one point he yelled "NOOO!" Without giving any instruction of what he was not wanting me to do. KB is pleasant and can be fun to chat with, but his teaching abilities are basically non-existent. You will feel more stressed about driving then when you started. I do not recommend this place until they have another trainer.

Fantastic experience: All 5 of my lessons were scheduled 4 weeks before my road test. Communication was straightforward, timely and my instructor was reliable. I had driving experience and my own car, but I wanted to know the truth about my driving, to not worry about the appearance of my vehicle on test day and to be done with it. KB was honest and prepped me for the worst case scenario: performance anxiety and a picky examiner. KB made sure I was ready to perform every possible maneuver, he shared common errors with me and he focused on my specific weaknesses. Thank you for your guidance, it was exactly what I needed to pass.

Fantastic experience: KB is an awesome guy and driving instructor. He has stayed with me for 3 years while I learned how to drive all the way up to my test which I passed with his help. He is very good and calm and has never made me more nervous on the road than I already was! He went to college for this so he is very knowledgeable and works with you, wherever you're at to improve and teach driving. Never would go to another driving instructor he's always been great! Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Great school with clear and concise instructors.

Negative experience: Aside from the insurance savings, this was a waste of money. The "instructor" spent his time watching movies on his phone or texting - not instructing. I essentially had to teach my daughter to drive. There was minimal feedback and what was given was rude and demeaning. Look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I just passed my G2 test today with the help of Defensive Drivers! KB was my driving instructor and he was very knowledgeable in the rules of the road and had the answer to all my questions. He helped me practice everything on my G2 test and made even parallel parking easy for me! It also helped that he was a very funny guy! I recommend this school for anyone who is in need of help for the driving tests. Thank you again!

Negative experience: Was not aware of the in-car lessons expiring 1 yr after in class instruction. Contacted them asking for exception as my son had an accident shortly after the in class part of the training and it kept him from driving for a little while then Covid kept us from driving. I contacted them 14 months after the in class and was notified that it expired and they were frank about them not willing to do anything for us. They had our son sign the paper saying it expired but neither my wife or I were ever told about this. Over $600 for in-class instruction only. what as waste of money...I would not recommend based on them not being up front with the parents.

Negative experience: Worst instructor. Always finds a way to get more money. Not understanding at all. He is always angry and speaks an an aggressive way. Be aware of the contract and notify your daughter or son to read it carefully.

Negative experience: -Bad instructor who is disrespecting and takes every single chance to take more money. When I asked to visit the school and know the conditions before I start the course, KB rejected my request and provided me with the contract during the first class. How can read and listen to the lesson at the same time? -He expect you to know everything before you come to the course and that's why he does not explain everything but rather her asks you questions (teaching by examining!!) - I had to cancel a class for a health condition but he asked me to pay fees for cancelation as I did not give him a notice 24 hours in advance. How can I know that I will be sick that day!!!

Fantastic experience: KB is the best! He knows how to light up the classroom and has taught me everything I need to know about driving. This school overall is great quality and is very professional. KB's teaching skills have taught me to become a confident driver. 10/10 highly recommend.

Negative experience: KB is rude, unorganized and takes forever to get your hr in. He does NOT return texts, you will NOT be able to book your G2 because he does not finish the in car. My nephew has been trying since Jan to get his hrs in and only has some of the hrs and will not respond to texts or phone calls. DO NOT USE THIS DRIVING COURSE

Negative experience: I have had 4 children get training at Defensive Drivers, but they have changed the packages and the G2 test no longer included but the price is the same. In the past, Dave was awesome. As well, KB is rude and does not communicate. I have left messages and i don't receive a call back. He advised my son that he would have a 3 hour lesson today to catch up so we made arrangements and then my son was told that he was just joking about the 3 hours. So frustrating. I called him and he said, like always, without answering my questions, "other than this question, is there anything else you would like to ask me" I don't understand how this business exists.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to this company and I was glad that I was. I needed to complete my G Test before my license expired and would have to restart. I passed my G Test and the instructor was very patient. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: I had KB as my G2 driver instructor. He was a very funny guy! Also super nice. I passed my G2 test the exact day I had to do my test! You can tell he was even super happy I passed as well. Definitely going back for my full G just to have a refresher!

Fantastic experience: The in car training which I was accompanied by the great instructor KB. He gave me all the tips and made me gain more confidence in my self driving , before the g2 road test. I highly suggest taking the lesson's as they are great to understand the rules of the road and how to be a very safe driver. I did my g2 test today and without the course I do not think I would've passed first try, KB is the best instructor.

Fantastic experience: I passed both my G2 and my G tests with Defensive Drivers of Cambridge and KB. He made me a very confident driver and I'm very happy I chose this Driving School. The refresher lessons after I finished my G2 training were by far the best prices per lesson and really helped me pass my G test. They were also very flexible and he booked both my tests for me so that was very nice not to have to worry about that. Also I could use his car for both tests. Very very satisfied and would defiantly recommend.

Negative experience: KB was terrible and always trying to get money out of his students for dumb reasons and doesn't stop until you put up a big fuss or until you pay him. So if you don't get dave don't take this course.
