I was very anxious about learning to drive and over the years have taken lessons with various driving schools/driven with friends and family. Bill was relaxed but thorough which helped build my confidence. Erin was very helpful with booking times around my schedule. I would recommend Dartmouth Driving School to anyone, but especially older adults who are nervous and have been putting it off for a long time. Fantastic experience: We signed our 16 year old daughter up for drivers ed with Dartmouth Driving School and had a great experience! My daughter just passed her road test today! She enjoyed her in person classes, as well as each of her ten hour long driving sessions. Communication was spot on when arranging driving lessons, and the instructors were always on time. She was able to use their car for the test, which was important to her as she was very comfortable driving their car. 10/10, would recommend Dartmouth Driving School to everyone!!!

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to Erin and Bill of Dartmouth Driving School! I was so anxious to start driving again after failing my road test as a teenager (I’m 31 now lol) and Bill immediately made me feel comfortable behind the wheel when I decided this year to try and get my license again. I actually looked forward to driving lessons rather than dreading them. Erin was lovely to coordinate with and made the process so easy, from scheduling lessons around my hectic work trips to booking my road test. I also love that they offer a lesson right before the scheduled road test. It made me forget any nerves and helped boost my confidence right before the test. I passed with a near-perfect score and definitely owe my newfound confidence and knowledge behind the wheel to this awesome driving school. I would recommend them to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I had to convert my European license into the Nova Scotia one and as I haven't driven for over 20 years, I needed to take some lessons before the road test. Bill is a wonderfully chilled instructor who made me feel at ease straight away. He is patient, very professional and was always on time which was very much appreciated with my busy work schedule. I have found it extremely helpful that he never overloaded my brain with constant instructions, but rather focused on one or two things. This helped me to relax and I very much enjoyed my driving lessons. It was also nice to just have everyday conversations while driving around. Erin offers the best client experience. Booking the lessons was super easy and efficient, she always kept me up to date and helped to schedule the road test, too. 5-star service all around, highly recommend this driving school.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and easy to work with Driving School. Bill was extremely accommodating and understanding and always willing to focus on things that I needed to work on. Completed the course and finished the test right away. They also helped to schedule the test and have road practice just before the test to ensure success. Would definitely recommend others.

Fantastic experience: Dartmouth driving school gave my daughter Hannah a very pleasant experience with her choice of in class or online learning for her 25 hrs of theory time not to mention during her 10 road lessons. The lessons were spaced out nicely for her and she felt comfortable with Bill and Bernie which was extremely helpful with her success. Erin who is managing all of the appointments is fantastic also. Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school, with an excellent service and serious instructors that will help you get your license. Even having previous experience I booked the 4 lessons package + the car for the road test, if you are a foreigner and not used to driving in Canada I strongly recommend doing that, things here are different and you need to get used to this, it worked for me.

Fantastic experience: Great driving School! Working with teens must not be that easy but the whole team was very supportive of ours. We'll definitely work with them for our second teen. Edit to the previous note: I REALLY appreciated the following: - the school does the exam scheduling for the student. No need to worry about this. - the student will take the exam with the school's car - which is something less to worry for. - High adaptability for pickups and overall good communication.

Fantastic experience: DDS was a great experience for my son and I. Driving instructors were always on time, friendly, supportive and patient. When I had questions, concerns or needed to book sessions, Erin was awesome. Helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. Keep up the great work DDS.

Fantastic experience: 100%THE ABSOLUTE BEST experience. For starters this school offers IN-PERSON/classroom instruction for the required 25 hours of didactic learning. The instructor was engaging and encouraged the kids to dialogue with her as well as each other. I feel at this age it is such a better way to learn than sitting in front of a computer. A significant portion of time is spent on impaired driving and I think it’s so important to have these conversations with an objective adult face-to-face (in addition to parents, of course). The virtual option may seem tempting, but I highly recommend that you take my advice and send your kids to the in person. Secondly, the scheduling and communication were unparalleled. I thought it would be so complicated but somehow Erin works all kinds of magic and everything just comes together seamlessly. My son forgot his license once. And the instructor was so empathetic and kind. I just cannot say enough about I recommend it 100% Without reservation!!!!THANK YOU ERIN, BERNIE + DARTMOUTH SCHOOL OF DRIVING! My next son will be coming through In 2025! :)

Fantastic experience: After failing in first 2 attempts and I approached Dartmouth Driving School for my 3rd attempt. Erin responded to my messages in real time. She understood my requirements and within minutes arranged dates and time slots for my lessons. The entire communication from inquiry to fees payment happened over text messages but her communication was so clear. With immense respect I would like to thank dear Bernie. I would not have got the license without his guidance. His honest, unfiltered feedback has polished my driving skills and helped me pass the test this time. He was unapologetically honest when I goofed up and always acknowledged when I drove well. We practiced not only around Access NS but on various other routes. The focus of driving lessons was not just to help me pass my test but to ensure that I learn driving skills. Bernie was always early for the lessons and I drove for the entire duration of the lesson, didn't waste a moment. We had to cancel one lesson due to nasty snow storm, but I didnt have to follow up to reschedule; Erin messaged me and quickly rescheduled for another day. Bernie I will be forever grateful for your coaching and thank you so much Erin for your excellent & timely support!

Fantastic experience: I reached out to them in an unfortunate situation. I had a bad experience with another driving school and didn’t have a car for my road test. I reached out to them very last minute and they were able to let me use their car for my road test and a lesson before. Very kind people would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I signed my oldest son up for the driving school which includes the in class and in car driving lessons. He had a great experience. The lessons were thorough and prepared him for his road test. In scheduling the session times, Dartmouth driving school was very accommodating and even scheduled the road test on our behalf. I especially love the lesson before the test, as an added confidence builder. I will definitely use DDS for my other children when the time comes.

Fantastic experience: I did 5 lessons in total and passed my road test with their help, they are very accommodating and very nice! Erin is very friendly over the phone and very understanding and helpful when it came to questions and sorting things out with booking a rosd test. And Bill the driving instructor was great when he was helping me drive, didn’t make me nervous and he was also very friendly! Honestly wouldn’t have been able to pass or even do my road test without their help! Negative experience: Horrible. Gave my grandson a horrible experience . Drivers would not show up, can't reach head office when they don't. Pay a fortune yet the driver can't be bothered to show up. No wonder drivers are horrible these days. Pass anyone. God Bless.

They were always there on time, never missed an appointment and Bill put my daughter at ease while she was behind the wheel and she passed with flying colors this week. Fantastic experience: My granddaughter has received her license on 1st attempt. .....instructors were amazing and we were able to use the Driving School Car for the Road Test......Erin was excellent with all of our bookings which could be difficult at times with her very very busy schedule with school and work.....I would highly recommend them to anyone who asks.....she has driven everywhere in the city and highways and I have every confidence in her future driving......thanks again for everything

Negative experience: Please don’t trust at Dartmouth driving school. They are not reliable and kind of fraud.They don’t provide the proper classes. They offer plans in starting after they lie. If you ask for explanation and reason for that the lady who works there she start shouting at the customers.She is very very rude. It happened with me I took classes from them they offered me a plan with car which I can use during road test. But when I called them to provide me a car for road test. The lady started shouting at me in rude way and said to me they don’t have car for me. They could give me if I book my test from her but I booked test with access Nova Scotia. I asked for refund she denied for everything and was very rude to me as well blocked my phone number. Please don’t trust at them.

Fantastic experience: Both of our daughters just finished their course and took their test this week, we now have two new drivers in the house. Fantastic experience: My son was a last minute enrollee. I must say I was very impressed by how flexible everyone was in making sure his needs were met and he was ready to take his road test. It was a very positive experience and we are very happy to recommend Bill and his colleauges.

Fantastic experience: I started driving in 2005 and now its 2017 I have went to this school to learn how to drive and not to be pressured I told them I didn't like driving pass big trucks until one day I had to drive pass construction zone area with little space to drive I gotten over that fear in that day..its been 12 years of driving and clear Abstract ....Thank you Dartmouth driving school for giving me confidence in driving...My son is now 16 we are going to make a appointment soon :)

Fantastic experience: The teacher is very nice

Positive experience: Very satisfied with this school. Two members of my family (so far) have received instruction from them with good results. They offer good training for a good price and see the process through to the end, as one should expect. One slight con is that communication could be a little more effective. Other than that, I have no hesitation recommending this school.

Fantastic experience: I have had four of my children go through this school with no problems at all! Great people to deal with and I have just enrolled a friends son.

Negative experience: Not impressed whatsoever. Classroom instruction was "alright" according to my son. Driving portion is a disaster and they never answer their phones and take days to return a call (still waiting for a response over 2 weeks now!!!). So far they (not my son) have cancelled/missed 3 classes. One the driver called me 2 hours before an appt to cancel because he had to go to the hospital. I can live with this, however, the scheduler said he would have to contact me himself to reschedule and still waiting for that call. Next, the instructor showed up at my house 20 mins early and since my son wasn't home (on his way home from work), he just left. I arrived home 10 mins before the appt, so I know for a fact he arrived and left early. Next my son was to be picked up at school for a lunch hour appt and the driver didn't show. This is not a company I would deal with ever again even if it is a bit cheaper.

Negative experience: I have left multiple messages to resolve a concern. It takes them long time to get back to you and they rarely answer their phone. They do not follow the 24hr cancellation policy. My daughter lost three hours of driving, when she only should have lost two. We called to cancel three classes during march break. The first one was was less than 24hrs, but not the others. I wonder if they listen to their phone messages in a timely manner. My daughter saved up her own hard earned money for this disappointing course. They advertise ten hours of in class instruction, when it is actually five-six hours.

Positive experience: Great instructors. The woman who does the booking is terrible to deal with. Does not get back to you even after multiple phone calls and emails. She is definitely not an asset to the business.
