Fantastic experience: I recently passed my G2 licence test and I attribute my success to the expert guidance and teaching of my in car instructor Tenzing. I had a lot to learn when he took me on and I really appreciated his calm patience and useful hints and tricks to remember the various aspects of good driving. The in class lessons were very good and helpful as well. You can’t underestimate the value of good teaching for driving readiness and being safe on the roads of Toronto!

Negative experience: Premium price, horrible service. Didn’t tell us about expiry of insurance certificate, didn’t answer emails, rude phone service, never called back. Complete scam

Negative experience: I had a very poor experience with Young Drivers, which was very disappointing considering they are an extremely popular school. My in-car instructor was unnecessarily rude and extremely demeaning to the point where I cancelled my lessons. Treating individuals with basic manners and decency should be the bare minimum for operating a business. I am a mature driver, so to think my instructor could potentially be treating young teenagers this way as well is unacceptable and inappropriate. Would not recommend you book here or book your children here.

Negative experience: I only recommend this school for in class lessons and the basics during G1 to get your G2. I definitely do NOT recommend their services for the G licence. The in car instructors just before the pandemic were good to great, but during the pandemic varied greatly with a few being sub-par and others being down right impatient, irritable and verbally abusive example Rod Cummings. Forget getting your money back with their problem of having a driver instructor shortage, the school made it impossible and was condescending with some of the call operators.

Negative experience: Horrible driving school. My instructor has on multiple occasions cancelled last minute or forgotten about our arranged pick up areas. The school is also trying to get away with not providing the full lessons I have paid for. My instructor cancelled on me for a 150 minute lesson and this was somehow marked as attended even though I never had a lesson that day. The lessons are booked to far apart that you don’t actually retain any of the information you learn. Save yourself the money and the trouble and DO NOT ENROL IN THIS DRIVING SCHOOL!! I reached out several weeks ago to try and resolve these ongoing issues and at this point if you are not willing or able to provide the services I’ve paid for I want my money back! Huge scam, avoid at all costs

Fantastic experience: Anan is an extremely capable driving trainer. He helps you prepare for your test in a highly organised and structured manner. I passed my G2 test in first attempt because of his help. Strongly recommended

Fantastic experience: My instructor Allister who now works at Leaside driving was very professional and educational. He was very calm when I made mistakes and that helped my learning experience a ton. If you’re booking with an instructor please book with him. Also make sure to ask him questions as he’s very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: The quality of the lessons themselves is very good and the instructor was professional and polite. but scheduling of lessons was a nightmare - could only schedule next lesson when previous lesson was complete and then it was at least a 2 week wait for the next one. they also do not pick you up at home - have to get somebody to drive you to some dark mall parking lot to get to your lesson - and then somebody has to come pick you up as well. this driving school is almost double the cost of every other one....not sure you get your moneys worth

Positive experience: I you get on the phone with Jim, ask to speak with anyone else, trust me! Other than that, it's alright.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience learning how to drive with Young Drivers. I was taught by Allister, who made me feel comfortable and confident driving. He went above and beyond to help me feel prepared for my G2 test. I had my driving test in a different district, and he helped me by studying the area and practiced parking behind pylons. He was patient, calm, and an excellent communicator. He also sent written step-by-step maneuvers to follow, which helped me memorize. Overall, I would highly recommend having Allister as your driving instructor. I will certainly go back to him for my G!

Negative experience: I would give a 0 if I could. Our experience has been terrible with Young Driver's. The online learning course (started in January 2021) took forever as the platform could not handle the load of users. It took my son way over the 30 hours to complete as it took sometimes 3-5 minutes between screens. We had booked in car lessons and then his instructor quit. We then booked with another instructor. He had 2 lessons, however his next lesson was cancelled. I have heard, NOT through Young Driver's, but through a friend, that his new instructor has quit. We DID NOT receive any notification of this but when he logged on, he said all his lessons were cancelled. For the amount of money paid, this is totally unacceptable. DON'T waste your money or your time. Extremely poor customer service.

Negative experience: DO NOT REGISTER for this driving school. They are way too booked to handle any more clients. The online platform is slow and takes students much longer than the anticipated 30 hours to complete and their instructors keep quitting and leaving students in a lurch. My daugther has had two instructors quit and has been waiting 4 months for her first in car lesson. FIND ANOTHER DRIVING SCHOOL. I would give zero stars if I could but Google won't let me!

Fantastic experience: Allister Lohan was my daughter's driving instructor over last 2 years. He taught her from beginning to passing her G2 on first try and then teaching highway driving to successfully passing her G test. He was excellent!

He is an excellent instructor who was very patient and took away the fear of driving. He gave her the confidence she needed in driving.

I would recommended this course to anybody not just to improve your skills but also to understand the fundamentals of driving much better.

Fantastic experience: Before I started taking lessons with my instructor Mike, I was very insecure about my driving and had a lot of anxiety on the days I knew I had to drive. Mike was very patient with me all the time and all the hints he gave me had helped improve my driving skills and raise my confidence level. Now I feel that I am ready to drive on my own. Negative experience: A good place to learn a safe driving experience. Customer service is terrible, anytime I called them I have to wait over 30 min till someone responds. I was the first in line, and have to wait for 40 minutes. Then they transfer me to a voice mail!!! And they force you to listen to a recorded tape over and over. They have many good instructors, but rely does not worth the money and time to spend here when their administration cannot communicate with you professionally.

Fantastic experience: The in car lessons were extremely helpful to prepare me for city and highway driving. My instructor helped prepare me for both my G2 and G road tests, in which I passed on the first try. Young Drivers really does help you understand how to drive safely and how to remove the stress of passing your road tests. Thank you

Mike made my daughter comfortable with learning to drive and me comfortable with going through this process for the first time as a parent. Mike is calm, patient and very thorough. Thank you Mike! Fantastic experience: I could not be more impressed with our experience at YDC. It has been a challenging two years for everyone and YDC has navigated extremely well through this difficult time. To start with, our driving instructor , Mike was beyond spectacular. I could write an essay on how phenomenal he was. Also the offices were great at allowing us to change the towns to take the driving lessons elsewhere when COVID had different rules in different areas. Mike had my daughter so well prepared for her test and she passed on her first try. Thank you so much Mike and YDC. We will see you in a few years for our next soon to be driver. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: The website where I am taking lessons has been "experiencing server load issues that are causing severe slow downs and functionality issues" for over 4 months. They have made no improvements, have no explanation, and offered no compensation. Their phone service where I have been trying to book in-car lessons also experiences constant technical issues. I've been hung up on countless times, as it seems they can't hear me on the other line. I have to call back constantly to book or cancel a lesson. All of these technical issues have wasted incalculable hours of my life. I don't even know where to begin to review the actual course content for the online lessons, other than to say it's hugely insulting and embarrassing. Some of the videos are clearly as old as I am (30). I should have just set my $1,600 on fire.

Fantastic experience: David Conry / Excellent Driving Instructor I am writing about my recent (amazing) driving experience with David Conry as my driving instructor. I recently passed my G2 and contribute much of my success to David’s teaching skills. David was enthusiastic, patient and engaging. He knows the subject matter and is very clear when conveying the material. David has a keen sense of observation. For example, while practicing parallel parking, I often steered the car too close to the curb. David figured out why this was happening, showed me how to correct it, and explained how to make adjustments during the maneuver if necessary. Observation to details that seem small made a huge difference, for example, my Left, Centre, Right at intersections was a few seconds early. Knowing this and practicing it, allowed me to see more of the traffic ahead, improving my driving skill and my confidence. Lastly, but just as appreciated, David was thoughtful and found time in his schedule for additional lessons. On the YDC website it mentions that driving is not a right but a privilege. It was a privilege to be able to learn to drive with David Conry as my instructor. H Graham

Negative experience: The classroom lessons were informative and Neil was a good in class instructor, but the movies are SO OLD that Blockbuster is in them. My driving lessons were with someone named Joe who clearly didn’t care, got frustrated easily and even told me “you’re driving me crazy” as I was learning to change lanes. Numerous times he was on his iPad, not paying attention to my driving, looking at vacations and furniture. I got extremely flustered and confused and I didn’t learn properly. I requested a new instructor after his terrible comment, but at this point my anxiety was already through the roof. My new instructor was alright, but still not great. I expressed my anxiety based on my previous experience and he asked, “are you going to complain about me too?” I also feel extremely rushed to get my G2. I just want to learn! Now I feel more anxious than ever about driving and super uncomfortable. Because of my first instructor, I half learned things, didn’t get enough practice parking and now I don’t feel confident. I am super disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend them. I’m in my 30s and my partner and I are going to just buy a car and he will teach me. This way I don’t have to keep asking for help from friends and I don’t have to pay for additional lessons! They actually recommended I pay for more lessons because I was poorly taught initially. Forget it. I don’t want to use them at all anymore, even though I have 2 more lessons. Also, the cost is HORRIBLE! Not worth it.

Fantastic experience: Great set up to learn the rules. Very helpful faculty and staff.

Negative experience: I have reserved the incar lesson in this place. On the lesson day, I have waited for a hour but the instructor never showed up. When I called them they are just keep saying the files have been misplaced or sth so I had to reserve lessons on different days. No compensation give to me for my wasted time but asks students to pay if they failed to give cancellation notice.

Negative experience: First off the course is very expensive compared to competitors, I paid around $1800 for mine. On my first day, my in class instructor admitted to being on heavy duty pain killers and it was visibly difficult for her to teach the class. Eventually she was replaced, but she should not have been teaching at all in the first place. Then comes the in car lessons. I loved my instructor, awesome guy, patient, insightful and nice. Few flaws with the system, they dont have enough instructors, so at the time I booked, you have to wait 2-3 months before your first lesson. That means if you or your instructor misses a lesson, you will have to wait 2-3 months to make up for it. I also dont understand why they charge you quite a bit of money if you miss a lesson, but I had my instructor cancel multiple lessons with as little as 30 minutes notice sometimes.

Positive experience: Generally I find the company a very good place with which to conduct business. Everyone was very professional. My in class instructor Dan was a very good teacher. As someone who learn to driver later in life I was super nervous. I had to driving instructors from Young Drivers of Canada. Mike was the the most amazing instructor anyone could ask for. He is knowledgeable and patient. This winter was my first time driving in the winter and everything he taught me was useful. I absolutely could not have driven through those snow storms of 2019 without Young Drivers of Canada! Thank you for making me a confident driver.

Negative experience: Our son sucessfully complete the classroom sessions and 7 out of 10 in car lessons. At the suggestion of his instructor, he held off doing the last 3 in car sessions so that they could be closer to when he would take his in car exam with the Ministry of Transportation. He neglected to tell us that all of the in car lessons needed to be completed within a year of starting with young drivers. When we went back to schedule the last 3 lessons, they informed us that too much time had elapsed, and that he would not get a certificate that the ministry of transportation would recognize as having completed with young drivers. While we were only months late, they would not yield, even though it was their instructor who suggested we hold off on the last sessions. Not impressed at all with their lack of understanding. Also not impressed that they don't have systems in place to warn people prior to their artificial time limit expiring. They are the 800 pound gorilla in the drivers ed world, and they are certainly acting like it.

Fantastic experience: I had the best time learning to drive with my instructor from young drivers. I'm gald I was able to achieve a G2 class liscence thanks to the help of young drivers!

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend the Young Drivers program! Specifically, I would reccomend the instructor Peter! He is patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable about anything and everything when it comes to driving and handling a vehicle, not to mention he has a demeanour about him that makes any somewhat new/nervous driver comfortable. He made this process extremely easy for me to pass my drivers test for the first time. I now have my license and I don’t feel nervous one bit because I know the foundation that both Peter and Young Drivers has instilled in me, has prepared me for any situation I may encounter on the road. I’m definitely using him again when it comes to going for my “G” license! Thank you Peter :)

Negative experience: Driving Instructor Ravi Venkatesh charged me $105 for not showing up to my lesson, insane amount even after paying for the course which was $1500. They just take your money.

Fantastic experience: As a mother of two boys, I looked for driver training that instilled smart and defensive driving habits. Young Drivers provided an excellent instructor in Jasmine Suhner. My oldest son had such a positive experience with Jasmine, that I requested that she be the instructor for my younger son as well. She always took the time at the end of each lesson to review their progress with me, which I greatly appreciated. Jasmine was able to teach both of my sons to be excellent and safe drivers.

Fantastic experience: My instructor was Jasmine and I couldn’t recommend her more highly. She was thorough and really instilled in me the importance of developing good safety habits which I still use today, about six years later. She was also kind and good natured and made learning to drive fun! All around great instructor!

Fantastic experience: I decided to learn to drive at the age of 35 which is not easy. I was so terrified to drive a vehicle, I couldn't even drive down a quiet country road without stopping the car and giving up after thirty seconds. When I called Young Drivers, I advised them that I would need a very 'special' person to be able to deal with me. I was told that they had the perfect person. Her name was Jasmine and 'special' doesn't begin to describe her. 'Phenomenal' wouldn't even do her justice. During my first class, I lost control of the wheel while making my first left turn into a busy intersection and nearly hit a Fedex truck. Jasmine didn't flinch. She had the wheel faster than I could blink and calmly steered us out of disaster. My heart was racing but she made me continue on rather than give me time to develop any extra anxiety. She established my trust early on. My confidence in her ability to both teach and take care of the wheel/brakes in sticky situations overrode my lack of confidence in myself. This allowed me to really begin to learn to drive. My driving fear slowly disappeared with each lesson. Her patience and teaching savvy allowed her to take things with me at the correct pace. Slow enough for me to feel comfortable, but fast enough to make me work hard to be where I needed to be at the end of our lessons. I clearly was not the only student to think so highly of Jasmine. During our lessons we regularly drove past former students of hers walking home from school who cheerfully waved, called out to her, or thanked her. I always thought to myself what a fulfilling job she must have to make this many students so grateful to her. Thanks to Jasmine, I not only passed both my G2 and my G driving tests on the first attempt, but I am now a very relaxed driver. I take long road trips regularly and feel a confidence I never would have achieved while driving had I not made the decision to take in-car lessons. Thank you YD for pairing me with your absolute best! I am forever grateful.

Fantastic experience: I started at Young Drivers in November 2012. I had both my in car lessons and in class lessons with Jasmine Suhner, who was personable, knowledgable, and made each lesson exciting and entertaining to the point that myself and two of my sisters have requested to have her for all of our driving lessons. She was definitely a highlight in my driving career and I've been a fully licensed G driver for 2 years now thanks to her support!

She is precise in giving directions, her advice are always helpful and she also remains calm in all situations. I just got my G license yesterday thanks to her and to Young Drivers. I recommend her, she is the best!!

Fantastic experience: Jasmine was an INCREDIBLE driving instructor! She took time to answer all of my questions (of which there were many) and ensured that I genuinely understood what she was saying. I practiced driving with her prior to my G2 road test (when I was a new driver) and she helped me get over my initial fear of driving. She also helped me develop safe and defensive driving habits early on. I saw her again 4 years later for a refresher lesson before my G test (yes I did make the unfortunate mistake of waiting to take my G until almost the last day before my G2 expired) and she was just as helpful as previously - but for different reasons! I had developed some bad driving habits over my past 4 years of driving that Jasmine really helped me kick to the curb (lol). Jasmine genuinely cares about ensuring that her students are safe drivers! As a bonus, she is an extremely patient, kind and fun person to spend a few hours in a car with! I passed my G2 and G road tests the first time and I attribute my success in large to everything Jasmine taught me!

Fantastic experience: My driving instructor Marin was very patient with me. He taught me many skills for driving collision free. We covered many different techniques of driving safely. He's also very passionate about his job. It's been a great experience driving with Marin. I would definitely recommend him as a driving instructor!!!!

Fantastic experience: Young Drivers is the VERY BEST at making sure new drivers get the confidence and proper defensive driving skills they need for driving on today's busy roads. My two children are now fully licensed, safe drivers - and I can rest easy when they are out driving. Thank you Young Drivers!
