Our comment from DrivingSchools.Directory about Humber Transportation Training Centre:

Humber Transportation Training Centre is a well-regarded institution in Ontario, known for providing comprehensive truck driving education. Many former students have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of training and the dedication of the instructors. Key highlights include:

  • Experienced instructors with real-world knowledge who emphasize both theoretical and practical training.
  • Hands-on training that prepares students for actual driving scenarios, enhancing confidence and skill sets.
  • A strong curriculum that focuses on all aspects of truck operation, including safety standards.
  • Positive feedback regarding specific instructors like Derrick Johnson, Sandeep, and Bhupinder Singh for their effective teaching methods and support.

However, some users have reported concerns about scheduling issues, the high cost of the program, and variable quality among instructors. It’s recommended to consider these factors carefully. Fantastic experience: I graduated with honors in 2014 and obtained my AZ license. These guys enabled me to make a lot of money. They were pretty expensive, but I felt like I had a decent foundation to build a skillset on when I was done. It was an investment and the best thing I ever did for myself. Saddened to hear they're no longer offering the program...

Fantastic experience: Former G to AZ student 2016 This school charges a lot, but actually provides valuable training. Should be a 4 star or higher. I heard this school is closing, and the website courses page only has air brake now, no driving. This is an actual truck school, NOT an illegal licence mill that takes bribes! Even at a sub par "school" for half or third price tuition. Training is lower. Back in my time, no bribing to pass here, you actually had to pass tests. There is probably more class and driving time here. Learn with a sleeper cab with a 53' trailer, because that is industry standard. Learning on a day cab, then going line haul with a sleeper cab and 53' trailer is bad. Learning with a standard trailer and a longer sleeper cab tractor is better, in case a student goes long distance after graduation. MTO needs to do undercover school inspection by sending an inspector to driving schools as a student. Humber will pass, licence mills will fail. Regardless of the cost, the Dean should keep this open. At least the industry could still have some future professionals. The ones who were wise to go here for priceless training, over a cheaper licence mill for worthless training. Or the mills that take bribes.

Fantastic experience: My instructor Sandeeb provided plenty of hands-on training, including time behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer, which helped me gain the confidence I needed to succeed. Wish i could give more than 5 stars. i have passed my AZ license on first attempt. I worked very hard to achieve my goal and a big thanks goes to Sandeeb

Negative experience: Avoid this school like the plague. They overprice, and are overbooked, and because of that, they will literally delay your dates many weeks and even run their classes into late nights. A dz takes more than 6k and 3 weeks. Any other credited school will charge much less and is much faster. Their az is overpriced too. GO TO THE ONTARIO MINISTRY SITE and look up accredited schools, and choose any of those. This place has screwed over many people. Please do not book here. They are highly unorganized and will not care to delay you and there will be 0 chance at a refund, and they don't teach that well either. Especially their dz instructor. Save your money and go anywhere but this place.

Negative experience: I enrolled in a truck driving course at Humber College with high hopes of receiving quality training and successfully passing the exam. However, my experience was disappointing due to unprofessional behavior and a severe lack of training from the truck instructor. I had a highly disappointing experience with this driving school due to the poor training provided by one of their instructors. The instructor I was assigned treated me badly throughout my training sessions, which significantly affected my ability to learn and perform Also My experience with the truck 90 degree backing parking from instructor at this driving school was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. The instructor's lack of competence and ineffective teaching methods directly contributed to my failure in the exam. Throughout the training sessions, the instructor demonstrated a lack of patience and provided unclear instructions for mastering truck backing maneuvers. He seemed disorganized and unprepared, which made it difficult for me to grasp the necessary skills. Despite expressing my struggles and seeking additional guidance, the instructor failed to provide constructive feedback or alternative approaches to help me improve. Their dismissive attitude only added to my frustration and lack of progress. As a result of the inadequate training received from this instructor, I performed poorly during the exam and ultimately failed. It's evident that the instructor's shortcomings significantly impacted my ability to succeed, highlighting the need for better training standards and instructor quality at this school. I strongly advise prospective students to reconsider choosing this school if they are looking to learn truck backing maneuvers effectively. A knowledgeable and supportive instructor can make a world of difference, and unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. I hope the school takes steps to ensure better training quality and instructor professionalism in the future to avoid similar disappointments for other students.

Positive experience: First of all, I do want to rate 5 stars, but sorry I can't. Yes, I do agree they can teach good skills to you, if you can do everything safely on the road driving with tractor trailer. They just end of my course because of two dangerous situations during the training class on driving on the road. I'm a small car driver I know how to drive safely. But with tractor trailer everything is different no matter for make turns, curve or backing. It all takes time to get that experience. I didn't get a second chance because of that which kind unfair. If I already know everything and can do everything perfectly why should I spend lots of money to go to a truck school to learn it? I could just go to the drive test center to pass everything and get my AZ on my driver license easy right. I paid $10k to get in the Humber to study now I just waste half of the money you know even though I do pass my air brakes test. If anyone who wants to learn truck driving and see this comment. I suggest you drop the in vehicle training course in the beginning. If you know you are slow learner like me need to take time to get something. You just go pay the course for the air brakes and truck operation theory course, they will give all the textbook you need. After you pass these to class. Continue study at home and prepare everything like how to do the schedule 1and make turns or backing with the long truck or straight truck. Then decide continue learn at Humber or go to other truck school.

Fantastic experience: My second instructor Sandeep who took me out for an extra lesson who broke the magic spell by teaching and instructed me to do my backing once and for all . I wound never Forget one word he told me and from that point backing became very understanding and simple for me. If you want to know the magic word l highly recommend instrutor SANDEEP . A very courageous instructor really n.appreciate

Fantastic experience: Wish i could give more than 5 stars. i have passed my AZ license on first attempt. I worked very hard to achieve my goal and big thanks goes to MR. SANDEEP KANDHOLA. Sandeep is an excellent teacher. He is very well educated, polite and professional. My instructor explained me very well about inspection, backing and on road skills. All instructors are extremely knowledgeable and have lots of experience and Lauri give simulator training which is really helpful in backing maneuvers.

Fantastic experience: This review goes out to Laurie, Mike FitzPatrick and the Yard instructor. So Guess what Laurie, I got my DZ today. Thanks for all the help you gave me, but also the lessons and knowledge. You taught and showed me so many things that my yard instructor didn't. I have to say that my simulator sessions with you, were the only true practical lessons I received. My saving grace really. 3 days of Stalling a truck in real life, until you fix it in 20 mins, in virtual reality. Still can't believe that one. Perhaps we could suggest cloning you for Humber and to make the world a better place, or perhaps you could teach a class on how yard instructors could be more like you. You were professional patient observant actually explain what I'm doing wrong " AND HOW TO FIX IT" nice You never yelled at me, which was so great. You also never fell asleep or shut your eyes during our sessions. You would watch me and pay attention so that my errors could be noted and corrected. I hope you don't mind me making the examples and comparisons, but as a student and customer who paid a lot of money, I have to set a few bench marks for excellence and expectations both scholastically and out in real life. That being said, you should be teaching DZ. You are one of the most amazing teacher I have ever had. That comes from someone who is a business school graduate with multiple past college professors. 3 Year advanced program, as well as some University. Also, let it be known that Mike Fitzpatrick........is a great class room instructor. Honest and informative, calm cool and collected. Great prof as well. When I changed colleges and left Humber, my new class was half a piece of cake thanks to you Mike, I was answering all questions left right and center. Mike, as with Laurie, you are also a 5 out of 5. My only....."request". Is don't know who, where or what. But the college needs to stop saying that we don't need to know parts. Thats not true at all. All of Schedule 1 is parts. Most of the ministry test is parts Most of the Humber tests have parts Circle check has parts In cab is parts ETC So learning the truck parts in tandem with Schedule 1, would go a long way towards students success. We should be instructed that, it is a "loose script" that we must follow but also ideally know as much by heart as possible. That we could jump from question to question and know how to answer the ministry. I know at Humber it's different, But it still took 4 Days for my Yard instructor to formulate the proper word configuration to explain clearly that you don't need to memorize it, just memorize how to follow it and keep it simple. I know you can't change the lesson plan, but maybe just preach and push it early and tell them. Know this piece of paper. Start practicing it and the circle check. As for my Yard instructor, nothing good to say about him. SO thanks Laurie and Mike, you guys were great and taught me so much that I was able to succeed somewhere else. You guys are great profs.

Humber is a wonderful environment from start to finish!! I took my air brakes with Mike and he is super knowledgeable and experienced perfect class!! Then Lorie with simulator great class loved every second I would take this class again just for fun. I then had Alex for in truck he had very high expectations and guided me perfectly to achieve success! Finally did my road test with Shaikh who is truly an amazing instructor your lucky if you can get him as a teacher!!! Thanks for the guidance and knowledge to further my career in trucking!!! Fantastic experience: Just recently obtained my DZ license @ Humber and with no prior experience driving manual transmission. I have nothing but positive experiences from all my instructors from Mike to my intruck instructor Jazz & Dave Obrien who i highly recommend. Daves patience teaching was calming and positive. There was one instructor who made the biggest impact and that was Lauri whom she teaches on the simulator training. Lauri's methods helped me tremendously and it is because of her methods i achieved my goal.. Thank you so much Humber for everything. Edgar.

Fantastic experience: My experience at humber was really good due to the unlimited amount of information my instructors had, both in class and in truck. In Class - I had Mike as our in class instructor who didnt just teach but gave us a walk thru on personal experiences on things that happen thats not included in the books. That personalization helped me understand the lessons he was teaching. Thanks Mike. Simulator - I got to learn to drive on the simulator (Ms Daisy) before actually getting into the truck. Make sure you go to those classes, it definitely helps you understand backing. The class is instructed and guided by Ms Laurie, one of the best instructors there! She helped me get my 'aha' moment with backing! Thanks Ms Laurie for all the help and the knowledge. In Truck - i got one of the best instructors there! Sir Derrick. it was an honor learning from him and he worked with me in making me understand how things needed to be tackled with the ever changing road conditions and situations. He watches you and teaches accordingly, example; i was nervous and tense directing this 85 foot vehicle, he immediately picked up on it and calmed me down by talking about all the cool things in the truck, on the road and experiences and got my mind off tense mode and more focused on learning the new skills! His guidance made a huge impact on my outlook as a now fully licensed AZ driver. Thank you Sir Derrick. it was an honor learning from you. Thank you to all the Humber program liasons, Stephen and Mathew for working with me and assisting me throughout the entire time at Humber.

Fantastic experience: I'd like to thank My instructors Sandeep, Laurie and, Mike for the enthusiastic and meaningful content they have brought to the table. Laurie is an invaluable asset when it comes to the optional simulator training, she helped tremendously when it came to backing and certain driving habits like dry steering, all before I had to do my in-cab training. Sandeep's expertise in the industry and friendly demeanor helped ease me into driving tractor-trailer, he was able to get out the bad driving habits that I had from previous experiences and has changed my driving habits entirely. Overall all the instructors want you to pass and are extremely enthusiastic about it. I came for the Humber experience, I got the Humber experience.

Fantastic experience: My instructor Mr.Keith Sansford at my trucking school was a experienced professional who was passionate about their work. They were patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions and offer guidance. They provided plenty of hands-on training, including time behind the wheel of a tractor-trailer, which helped me gain the confidence I needed to succeed.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Hunber Transportation Training Centre was absolutely phenomenal! From the in class with Mike, very educational and egaging. To Laurie on the simulator. She was absolutely amazing with pin pointing any difficulties i was having. I truly recommend taking extra simulator time ( as it is included in tuition ) Laurie will help you in anyway possible. And my in vehicle instructor Ken really made learning intruck educational, fun and over all a very non stressful environment. I am very grateful and impressed with Humbers program and instructors! As of today i have passed the DZ license course and am on my way to a brighter future!

Fantastic experience: The best transportation course out there. It's the instructors that make this course stand out. Extremely knowledgeable. Ken, Bhupinder, Mike and especially Manny were my instructors and I couldn't have asked for a better team. The name is recognized across the industry and I feel I'm already ahead of a lot of people that are starting out. The trucks are newer, they take the time to help you if you need any assistance. Highly recommended.

Positive experience: The program itself was well put together, but I did have some problems with the scheduling which management was able to sort out. The instructors were all well trained and knowledgeable. The "Z" air brake endorsement course had an amazing instructor named Bhupinder Singh, who was very thorough and knowledgeable. Mike who did my "A" portion had a lot of years of experience, which helped me a lot to prepare for my road tests. I give it 4 stars because of the scheduling problems.

Positive experience: Over all recommend. Great school. Shout out to Satinderpal, best instructor ever! The only downsides in my opinion, is that you are restricted to drive only automatic transmission since they have automatic trucks. And the management kept assigning me different instructors for my driving lessons, which made things confusing (each instructor is different, tells you something else).

Fantastic experience: Training was very good and am glad with my choice to attend humber college, my trainers are great. Awesome

Positive experience: Humber without a doubt is the most intensive trucking course for AZ in Ontario. They teach and train not just for you to pass but to be a better driver on the road. The curriculum thus feel a bit too much for the time you get when you start but if you stay focused and review what you've done after your classes. You'll do really well. All instructors are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Humber if you are really serious about a career in trucking.

Fantastic experience: Go to Humber College if you want to learn more than just how to pass the road test. All the instructors are top notch, but I owe my success to my instructors Mike and Ken.

Akil Desai 3 years ago

Positive experience: I give humber college 3 stars because I feel like in the time you have in school with them they cramp to much information in your head and not enough road time. This industry is more hands on and not books. Instructors and management aren't on the same page and management will sometimes interpret classes and make it feel awkward like they're out to get the instructors and to much politics within the staff. Dont get be wrong all the instructors are amazing but need to be on the same page in every aspect. Think twice about going here because of that reason. Also certain ppl from management will make you feel uncomfortable even as a student. As for my instructor LAURI ANDERSON I give her 5 STARS. She's built for tough skin and very strict! She don't play games but she will make sure you are road worthy and safe at all times. Don't let her get under your skin lol she's not built for the weak! Thank you Lauri, Ken, Keith and Slavic. All of your advice was much appreciated. Dont get me wrong, I passed first try but during my process I felt like my money was wasted at this school. The industry don't care which school you go too, it's how you've been taught and how much road time you have on your belt.

Fantastic experience: I took my training starting October.. i really recommend the school its worth it.They teach you everything during training from coupling ,uncoupling to how to even manage your truck on curves and also how to do the tight turns with a lot more driving skills. My in class was with Derek he was very polite and professional. I did my in vehicle with Manny, it was great. He was very professional and made everything easy for me to learn ,it was great time .he encouraged me so much . Even other instructors Dean,Keith were very polite and professional. Specially Dean he showed so much Faith in me and which helped me successfully complete my course. Even if you have any questions or need any help during training Kristina and upper management support the students. They will go above and beyond to help the students. Thank you Humber for everything.

Negative experience: "MONEY SNATCHERS"-- HUGE MISTAKE COMING HERE DZ is "Manual" Not Automatic. I wish they had told me this before I paid them with my hard earned money. DZ training is on Manual truck not on Automatic. According to their description online they say that the training would be performed on Automatic truck. Even though Manual is hard compared to the Automatic, They still give you only 5 hours a day for 5 days same as automatic. I think they are over confident about their reputation. I wish I hadn't come here. Professor "Ken Price" is very unprofessional , extremely impatient and has bad attitude (swears a lot) towards his students . He confuses you and makes you uncomfortable at driving. He would make you feel like you can not drive and try to make you pay extra for the lessons that is why. I call them "Money Snatchers". Administration is very very very hard to get hold of. They are just unbearable. DO NOT GO HERE PLEASE. THANK YOU.

My Air Brake classes were conducted by Mr. Bhupinder Singh who gave me great insight about the Air brake system and my tractor trailer theory classes were conducted by Mr . Ken Cox who really taught us well about the tractor and trailers before going on for the Practical session . My instructor for the practical session was Mr. Derrick Johnson who really brought the best out of me and helping me in overcoming my problems . I would really like to thank Derrick and Bhupinder Sir for their guidance throughout my journey in this College .

Fantastic experience: I was lucky to have enrolled in Humber Transportation Training School. Right from the time my Airbrake course started with Mr Bhupinder to the theory classes being held online by Mr Ken and the one on one in cab training by Mr Derrick Johnson, I knew I was in able hands with plenty of real world experience. I would especially like to thank Mr Derrick Johnson, my instructor for one on one in cab training who kept his faith in me when I did not and always encouraging me to be the best right till the time I passed my final road test. I would also like to thank Mr Dave, who as my road test examiner told me to be calm and composed which helped me to clear my road test in the very first attempt.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Humber transportation. The management team Kristina and Stephen Martin are best sources of information and gave me quick reply. Then moving to virtual classes with Mr. Ken Cox, he is very knowledgeable person and made the theory classes easy. I passed my air brakes course with the help of Mr. Bhupinder Singh,he is nice person. Last but not least practical classes with Mr. Adrian is like a blessings of God to get him. He is very generous, experienced instructor who makes me able to hold the truck’s steering with confidence. As a girl it was a challenge for me to drive such a big vehicle but Mr. Adrian filled me with joy and converted my fear to confidence. He invested his real life experience and helped to overcome from fear. I got my license because of him. Big thanks to you sir. My road test instructor was Mr. Keith, he was such a gentleman and gave me comfort zone while I am driving during my road test. I am so pleased to get him as my road test instructor. Big big thanks to all of you

Fantastic experience: Overall an A+ experience. Doesn't get any better. The course is well structured, organized and executed to help you get your license and a job as soon as possible. I was working and going to my classes at the same time, regardless I got my license and diploma with honors in the fastest time possible. I was getting job offers just 2 week's into the program which I had to refuse since the pay was horrible, so don't sell yourself short because with Humber you should always ask for top dollar and not work in an illegal sweatshop. I had the best instructors who taught me very well like Adrein and Syed. My backing skills are top notch and the amount of companies I have refused to work with is staggering, it's their loss!

My instructor Mr.Derrick was exceptional, he helped me in all the way to get my driving experience/training a memory, also Mr. Bhupinder, he is the instructor i first met when i came to college, Oh my god the amount of real life stories/learnings/experiences he has about his driving experience is immense, you guys pray that you get one of the two instructor to succeed in your AZ career. Also i would like to thank the administration office Miss. Kristina, she is the one who takes care of all the paper works and the office, and she is really helpful and quick in response. Thank you all guys to make my experience amazing:) 100% recommendation to Humber College for AZ license

Fantastic experience: Recently, I have passed my AZ test from humber college it was a great experience. All other staff and instructors was great but i spend most of my time with satinderpal in humber transportation training centre. Stainderpal was my in vehicle instructor. He is really a great and humble person. I love the way he teach me step by step that how to operate tractor trailer and especially his way of teaching that how to do backing maneuver properly. Because, in whole of this course backing was just like a nightmare for me but he start teaching me on daily basis and my backing starts improving gradually. On my 8 lesson i was backing perfectly.

Fantastic experience: I came into humber college wanting my AZ for a VERY long time, I had an amazing experience with Ken who did all of our in class theory, hes a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor. Moving onto my in cab portion i was appointed Lauri as my instructor. Lauri in my eyes is a TOP instructor at humber college, and any future student should feel extremely privileged to be her student. Lauri is very detailed and focused on teaching you in ways that benefit you. Everyone learns differently, and she's willing to help you every way she can and go above and beyond. Im gonna miss coming to school, it was truly an awesome experience and life changing. Thank you to all of the staff, especially during these difficult times.

Negative experience: I scheduled to write my CRSP exam on Jan.30.2021 and on January 28th I had received the confirmation email. I arrived 45min earlier at the designated location to follow the COVID process and get ready for the test. Met another guy who wanted to take his test as well. We looked around to find the employee(s) in charge but couldn't find anyone. We both were shocked! No posting, no announcement, nothing!!! That was unbelievable and disappointing. I can't imagine how this is possible. Tried to reach out to Pearson VUE to notify them but there wasn't any phone number on their website. Finally, I found a chatbox on the website and made a complaint. They opened a case for me and they easily told me it takes one week to figure this out!!! SOMEONE MAKE THE PROBLEM AND OTHERS HAVE TO PAY FOR IT!!!! I Strongly recommend that do not choose this Test Centre. #Pearson VUE #Humber College

I strongly recommend Humber College for AZ Training, You will not be disappointed. Thank you, Bhupinder for your efforts and hard work!

Fantastic experience: Had a great time learning all about and how to drive a truck. Course was really helpful and I accomplished getting my license with the help of Derrick and had a blast while doing so. Really friendly nice people only one thing is it’s hard to get hold of the office when you need to mainly Kristina who coordinates the entire thing. But other that that I got all the help I could’ve from the instructors.

Fantastic experience: I have never been driven tractor trailer before I learn AZ driver license program at Humber College. I got one of the best experience from Humber and had a best training by humber’s instructors. I think AZ license program at Humber College is top of the line in GTA. In Humber, every instructor has decades of real world experience. I had an excellent instructor Lauri Anderson who was making sure I was successful in my training and kept safety for public and my driving. She was wonderful, patient and amazing to be I was learning how to drive. Lauri taught me a lots included in class learning, air brake, pre-trip, coupling, uncoupling, drive on road and backing. Meanwhile, she shared lots of experience from her life and knew the way to teach me better. Therefore, she improved my confidence and made me to be a professional driver at the end of the course. At the weekend, Bhupinder is also very kind and patient instructor. He helped me build more confidence, taught me lots of techniques for some of the toughest parts of driving and told me about job fair. He also told me some good companies that I can apply. Overall, Thanks all of my instructors. Thanks Steve and Kristina for help. I highly recommend AZ program at humber if you want to be successful in your career and to be a professional driver. Not only Lauri and other instructors made me understand the concept of driving but they did it a way that was very relaxed and enjoyable which I love.

Fantastic experience: Humber has really professional team of instructors. They explain and help with everything. They teach you a lot of skills that you definitely need for your job. Also, they share their own experiences that can help you in the future. It was really pleasant several weeks of training. Special thanks to Adrian for his help and patience. As well, thanks to Derrick and Lauri for their advice during the course. Last but not least, I have really good experience with administration team as well - Kristina and Steve. They reply quickly to any of your questions and provide well planned schedule of your training.

Fantastic experience: I was a student from January 2020 to what should have been March 2020 but because of the pandemic end up being July 2020. My instructor was Satinderpal Singh he was a very patient instructor that wants his students to be the best I learned so much from him I give him 5 stars as well as the school they're the most helpful and professional staff helping it whatever way they can. They ROCK! Every question or worry I had about anything pertaining to the course Kristina or Steve would respond to my emails so efficiently I really appreciate all the guidance I got from Kristina from day one... you guys are the best at what you do..100%

Negative experience: Please all that read this, rethink your decision to attend this school. It is massively over priced, improperly managed (by some one who has never spent a day in the trucking industry). Equipment that needed to be replaced years ago, instructors that are not qualified (though not all are unqualified). I ended up being kicked out without being tested, because I made a complaint. They refused to give my money back. They are the worst kind of thiefs, who uses a established collage name to scam you. I am currently working with the Ombudsman's office to get my money returned after trying to work with higher ups at Humber Collage (suprise suprise they're greedy thiefs too).

Fantastic experience: I just got my AZ licence from Humber college. I had a great learning experience. Initially my instructor was Lauri. I was having too much difficulty learning with her. Then I got Mr. Bhupinder and Mr. Satinderpal as my instructors. They are both very dedicated and professional. Thanks to them I know how to conduct proper pre trip and shift 10 speed truck smoothly. Both instructors are very patient, friendly and care about their students success. Other instructors like Keith, Derrick and Slawek are also very good and they gave me very good tips on driving. Mr. Bhupinder has even told me about the job fairs that are coming up in the good companies. He has decades of experience as a professional truck driver and trainer in Canada’s top companies. He gave me right guidance to become a responsible and safe driver. Mr. Bhupinder helped build the confidence in me so that I really enjoyed driving. The training at Humber college is worth every penny and I recommend all aspiring truck drivers to get licence from Humber college.

Fantastic experience: After meticulous research for driving schools, I decided to go for Humber and my experience exceeded my expectations. I had the great opportunity to have as instructors Mr. Bhupinder and Mr. Slawek, who in addition to being great professionals and excellent human beings, were my guides in my learning process and went beyond from a professor, becoming my mentors and with whom I will always be grateful.

Fantastic experience: I just recently completed my AZ Course through Humber College. Started in early November and finished my road test by end of January, would have been completed earlier but the program ran during holiday season. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the program. I would like to thank Lori and Jeff for the in-class training, as they both had great knowledge and had real life experience to explain certain aspects. All the instructors I had training with were all very experienced truck drivers with extensive knowledge. Thank you to Derrick, Adrian, Keith and Emmerit for being very understandable and giving myself the confidence to complete this program. For others that are deciding which school to choose for AZ program, I would highly recommend Humber College. I know the cost may be a factor, however, every penny spent is worth it. For new students going through this program, don't feel nervous or have no confidence after driving the trucks for a week or two, as the instructors will make sure they will get you to the end of the course with confidence and skills to pass the road test.

You are the diamond of Humber college. Thank you

Fantastic experience: My instructor at the school was Derrick Johnson. Derrick is a very special person, very kind, always happy and ready for a laugh. He cares a great deal about you succeeding. He has so many stories about his years in the trucking industry and to a new driver trainee like me, it makes it more real. Derrick has a world of patience and will relentlessly go over and over the things you need to do while driving. Derrick, thank you so much for everything and keep on truckin!

Positive experience: Hello After a long time, I changed my carrier to Truck driving. Base on my research from drivers and internet, I found Humber college as the best school in the greater Toronto aria (GTA). I had great INSTRUCTORS there. Me and my driving Buddy, Mohammad, from Pakistan were driving 5 hours a day from the first day. My Indian Instructor, Mr. Standar, had an Indian accent but was one of the best, patient, friendly, insistent to teach us the bast. Thanks to him that I have a new self confidante in the new society. One of the best of Instructor is Mr. kith. he was excellent as well. But when I came to the real world of truck driving, I find Backing very different and complicated than what we where doing at school. If i were Instructor there, I will tack my students to the real DOCk for baking. Thanks a lot Mr. Standar. Hedayat

Fantastic experience: I just finished my AZ course with Humber college. They have high qualified instructors for the training. My instructor was Derrick Johnson. He is an amazing instructor. His knowledge and experience In truck driving field was a great help for me. Derrick’s way of teaching is very different and great. Thank you so much Derrick for being so patient with me and helping me in every possible way you could to get me through this course. If you get Derrick as your instructor, consider yourself lucky. Over all, wonderful experience with Humber and would definitely recommend everyone to get their Training from Humber.

Fantastic experience: I was a student at Humber College Transportation and recently graduated there in the AZ truck driving program center at 55 Woodbine Downs Blvd in Etobicoke Ontario Canada. I'm proud to say that I was very pleased with my instructor Derrick Johnson that trained me in the AZ Truck Driving Program. Derrick is an amazing instructor to be trained by and made the lessons quite fun and extra intuitive. Derrick has a vast amount of knowledge and insight as a long standing truck driver and more so as an instructor. I'm glad I was assigned to his roster of students. Derrick made me feel at ease and helped me very well where I found the program a built difficult in certain aspects of it to get through it with sound advice and recommendations. I now have a greater appreciation for the skill and the extra insight Derrick provided me with to graduate successfully in the AZ program. Thanks a bunch Derrick you made the program challenging, fun and enjoyable with your instruction. I made a new friend with you and I highly recommend your services and expertise in the program to others interested in enrolling in the AZ program at Humber. All the best to you Derrick Johnson in your career. You made a difference for me. Cheers!

Negative experience: Very unprofessional staff . Enrollment guy Ric Mikula has no sense to taking to students he just take you for granted. This is just not it their instructors are worse then the office staff they will just keep telling you stories and when it’s just time of actual in cab training no results. I wish I can give them zero stars, just another money grabbing community college there are lot better truck schools outside in the market just don’t fell for their fancy name they are just another peice of trash

Fantastic experience: Top Notch Trucking School. Instructors are the best in the business. My instructor has over 35 years of driving experience! The G to AZ Tractor Trailer program is well worth the investment and the time. Every potential employer I have approached is chomping at the bit to hire Humber College graduates! The focus on safety and practical experience is phenomenal. It is great that something I enjoy so much can be a great career path as well!

Fantastic experience: Extremely professional and thorough instructors that really care about their students success. Teaching moulds you into a professional, ready for driving properly in the real world. it's not just designed to help you pass the road test. Best decision I've made of recent. Highly Recommended.

Positive experience: They teach on 10s manuals. Program and faculties are not bad. But definitely overpriced!

Null Void 7 years ago

Fantastic experience: I recently completed the G-AZ program at Humber, and the entire program was fantastic. The in class portion was professional, with a great presentation. The driving was even better. My in truck instructor was Slawek, and the wealth of knowledge and skills he was able to pass on was incredible; he prepared me for the road test, and beyond that taught me smooth and safe operation of the vehicle in a variety of real life traffic situations. He also provided lots of real world info for when we graduate and move in to the work force. Humber is also well recognized in the field, and i had no difficulty in finding a good job within days of even looking. Let me be clear thought learning to drive a truck is like taking on any skill based trade, and definitely there will be people who won't possess the coordination to drive a 10 speed manual 80000 pound truck and trailer, and i believe that may be at the route for some of the negative reviews as they don't mirror my own or any of the experiences i witnessed in my time there. It's challenging, and you need to be constantly alert, and Slawek really help build the confidence in me so that i could get to the point of really enjoying driving and knowing i'm doing it safely . The training is worth every penny, and you really get what you pay for with Humber College.

Fantastic experience: Humber is best if you want how to learn driving the truck and be safe on road. Instructors are competent and helpful and know what they are doing. My instructor was Mr Slawik,he is a great instructor .i enjoyed learning truck with him and how to be defensive on road .HIGHLY RECOMEND humber college for people who want to learn and operate truck trailer safely and efficiently on roads.

Fantastic experience: Just finish the AZ license course and it was done very professionally, with very good teachers and course materials. Would highly recommend! Also, I cannot understand the amount of bad comments and ratings. Out of about 30 people who were in my class maybe 1 person didn't have a good experience, because they couldn't drive very well.

Ashley Mckee 7 years ago

Negative experience: Awful school. We picked Humber, because we thought they'd be the best.. But after months of the school canceling lessons, and unqualified teachers, my partner was kicked out of the program, without even being given the chance to test.

Farah Abdirahman Jama 7 years ago

Negative experience: Bad people and un proffesional staff, Never Experience such kind of weird people

Axel Veracity 7 years ago

Negative experience: Really awful experience. My partner registered there- their fees are much higher than private colleges but he chose this place hoping high fees fees equated with quality. His trainers were changed frequently, were irregular, lots of classes got postponed. But he remained consistent and made sure not to miss a single class, and he got no negative feedback from any of his trainers. Then he failed his road test twice and they refused to take him on for further lessons. AND- he was not the only one. So my question is this- if your own students fail the tests that you yourselves conduct,- doesn't that say something about about the quality of the training and the program as a whole?

Najdeep Kaur 7 years ago

Negative experience: My husband had driving test with John Dennehy .First he passed him and handed him the paper ,after some time he grabbed his paper out of his hand and scratch passing box and failed him. That was very unprofessional action. Their examiner couldn't make a clear decision. For some people passing the test is very important. While giving their results they couldn't even make decision. Very bad experience with humber college. My husband didnt even make major mistakes in his test he was allowed to make 30 mistake from which he olny made 5. He was really surprised how his examiner failed him.i would never suggest anyone to go to humber college for their commercial license.

hari bhandari 7 years ago

Negative experience: I had road test exam on November 28, 2017. My examiner was "Jeffrey Showers". He pointed out couples of mistakes but I don't agree some of his comments. He told me that I was driving too slow from highway merge. When I merged the highway, there was a construction and workers were working so that I drove at 80km/h speed. When he was commenting about my mistake, HE ALSO SAID THAT my INSTRUCTOR fail his student. this means my instructor failed his student that's why "Jeffrey Showers" Fail me in road test. Beware Guys....If you get "Jeffrey Showers" as a examiner, don't give road test with him.

Fantastic experience: Hunber College was a great experience! The teachers are so patient and willing to assist you with driving a truck. I went into school not knowing anything about the truckibg industry. I left confidant kniw i had been taught by people who had been there and done that. They even gave me phone numbers so if after graduation i had any questions or needed advice i could call. Great place to learn. Highly recomend this school to anyone wanting to obtain a AZ or DZ program! Thanks to all who helped us! We had a job and on the road w weeks after we left school! So loving my second career choice!!!

Karamo Kone 8 years ago

Negative experience: master class scam artists, your second-carreer money will be stolen legally and not even the ministry for second carreer can help.because there's a ligne in the contract they made you signed allow them to kicked you out of the AZ program on the fifth week.WARNING,AVOID HUMBER TRANSPORTATION TRAINING ,choose any other COLLEGES.i was 1 of they victims back in 2015.
