I had a motobike driver license but haven't touched any car since 5+ years when I moved to other countries. I lose the sense of driving. So when icbc skip class 7 and ask me to take class 5 road test, this is a big challenge for me. Fortunately, Mr John with full of experiences as an instructor guided me step by step. He showed me good advices and easy methods how to park a car, handle complex situations, what are the issues with my driving skills, how to drive smoothly. Most importantly, not only for road test, he showed me how to drive safely. It was really fantastic. I could not believe to myself. I passed my class 5 road test in the first attempt (at the beginning, I expect myself to visit icbc at least 5 times for road test) I strongly recommend Mr. John and VNBC school for anyone who want to find a driving classes.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience taking classes with John. Took six classes before my Class 5 driving test. John was extremely patient and took a lot of time in identifying my shortcomings and fixing them. He was also on time for classes and ensured I got the complete 1.5 hours of training. Fantastic experience: John is very patient and gives you constructive feedback without making you feel bad. One tip as a student is to not be scared to ask a lot of questions. Ask as many questions necessary to clarify your understanding. John answers questions in a very calm and concise way. After taking just a few of his lessons I was able to pass my class 7 road test.

Fantastic experience: It took me a few months to find an instructor because the other instructors I contacted were unavailable. Eventually, I found John. My road test was a month and a half away. I have no driving experience whatsoever. I did about 15-18 hours of driving with John. He is an effective instructor. He's honest. He points out what I need to improve on all the time. I passed my FIRST road test with flying colours. I highly recommend reaching out to him for lessons. I personally know people who did more than 20 hours of driving with other people and they had to retake their road test a couple more times.

Fantastic experience: I had zero driving experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! John took me on all the tricky routes/sections near ICBC and was always very patient with my mistakes. I could tell that he genuinely wanted me to become a good driver, not just pass the test, and his constructive feedback helped me gain confidence on the road. His mock tests were super helpful in identifying weak points and he was always happy to answer questions (even willing to stay overtime to answer them). Fantastic experience: John is the best driving instructor in Vancouver. I was a learner trying to get my N. I had gone through FOUR other decent rating driving schools in a year, and they were all problematic in ways that forced me to keep finding a new instructor. They were either very impatient, annoying, bad at teaching, and yelled at me often when I drove, which scared me, or were too chatty and did not teach me anything. As a new driver, driving can be very scary, especially if the instructor is not doing a good job of guiding you and giving feedback. I had tried to take the road test twice and failed terribly because I was not taught properly. I didn't know it at the time, I thought I was ready but turned out none of the driving schools I had attended before taught me the very crucial skills to drive safely and how to pass the test. They only wanted to take your money and let you take more lessons. Not until I book with John, VNBC Driving School, during the first driving lesson did I realize that I had wasted too much money on incompetent instructors and useless lessons. I basically need to relearn everything! After the first lesson, I already know John is the man! He assessed and pointed out all my problems in the first lesson. I immediately bought the six lessons package with him, and after only six lessons, I relearned everything and I got my N smoothly. Thank you John, you are truly the best.

I had issues with parking, but John showed me how to properly park and gave great advice. I passed the test on my first attempt, and it is all thanks to him. Fantastic experience: I took a total of more than 10 lessons with Mr. John Nguyen for both my Novice and full license road test. With my experience, I wholly recommend John and his driving school. Let's be clear here: a good driving teacher doesn't teach you just to pass the licensing tests. A good driving teacher teaches you the driving logic and mindset that lasts a lifetime, which is far more important in the long run than driving licenses (they're still important tho, don't get me wrong). John is better than good, he's excellent! I don't think I would have passed the two driving exams without his expertise and patient approach. He is very straightforward with his teaching, which is great for new drivers to learn on the spot. Come to classes with an open mind and a desire to always self reflect and grow your driving skills, and I can assure you that not only will you now most likely pass your driving tests, but you will also become a safe and level-headed driver - for your own sake, for your loved ones, and for the sake of the public too! He has 25 years driving experience and it can be easily seen in his teaching method. Their prices are pretty reasonable as compared to other driving schools in the town. He gives you an excellent insight to what to expect on the exam and how to drive in a safely ordery manner with respect to other users of the road. Knowledgeable and very patient. Recognizes your weak points and help to prioritize those. Worth booking even if you already have your license and just need to refresh your skills.

Fantastic experience: I debated for many years on whether or not to learn how to drive with an instructor or family and friends. Finally this year I did decided to take the plunge and try out driving lessons (which would cost as much as a Prada purse) but I was rejected by a few schools due to my working hours and overflow of students in the city. Luckily I came across the VNBC website and was able to speak to John and figure out a schedule for my lessons. This is the first thing you will notice about John, he is a good communicator. Taking lessons with John is without a doubt one of the best decisions I made in life, forget designer shoes or purses! I had no driving experience before I signed up for lessons with John. As I completed each lesson, I realized more and more they were a good investment and how much I needed them as they helped me gain confidence in being behind the wheel and get over my fear of driving. Frankly, I don't think everyone is built to teach and learning from someone you know, there is no guarantee they will teach me everything I need to know on the rules of the road and good driving habits. John is a very skilled instructor and he will not only teach you how to do well on your exams, he will teach you how to be a safe driver. When learning from John he will give you step-by-step instructions, valuable driving tips on and off the road in all kinds of weather conditions, parking and more. Especially under bad weather conditions or during the evening, don't expect a cancellation from John, he is more than happy to teach you how to drive so you can drive in all kinds of situations. Of course, you have the option to cancel...that just means it opens up a spot for another of John's students, he's as busy as any other school! John is so skilled that if you make a mistake, he will be able to tell you exactly what you did wrong and how to fix it. What I find is the most unique about learning from John is not only are you learning how to be a safe driver, you learn how to make others in the car feel safe/comfortable and be alert to unsafe drivers on the road. As I don't own a vehicle and only just received my N, I look forward to taking more lessons with John to finesse my driving skills and prepare for my full license exam. Thanks John, looking forward to the next lesson!

Fantastic experience: I am naturally a very scared and nervous person John was extremely calm, and patient with me he was able to make me very comfortable so that I was able to concentrate on learning how to drive. The skills that he taught made it very easy for me to grasp the concept of driving quickly and safely. I would recommend John to anyone that I know that needs to learn how to drive, not just because I passed on my first try but because it’s a testament to his teaching ability that felt like I passed quite easily!

Fantastic experience: I had John and Toan as my instructors. Both were very detailed, patient, and calm. They helped me drive more confidently and safely, so I not only passed my test but also can drive safely later. They helped me familiarize with the road test routes in New Westminster and Burnaby. The lessons were always on time and so informative. Can't recommend them enough!

Fantastic experience: I have had such a wonderful time at VNBC Driving School.  Both my instructors, John and Toan, are excellent teachers.  With their clear and helpful instructions, I have been able to make really good progress improving my driving skills after such a short amount of time.  With their years of experiences, there're always new things to learn in each lesson.  On top of that, everyone in VNBC Driving School is super friendly, which makes each driving lesson really enjoyable.  In fact, the lesson is one thing that I always look forward to every week, not only to learn from the pros but also to relax and feel the joy of driving.
