Joe, my instructor, was instrumental in helping me secure a standby test appointment at an ICBC center. Not only did he accompany me, but he also allowed me to use his vehicle for the test. Beforehand, we practiced and reviewed key areas to focus on. Joe's patience, expertise, and teaching style made all the difference. He emphasized safe and proper driving techniques, ensuring I felt confident and prepared.

He is very encouraging too which really boosted my confidence to take the road test. I passed my class 5 road test with his great mentoring! Moreover, his fees are very reasonable. And didn’t ask for payment outright unlike most driving schools out there. I was hesitant at first because the cars in the photos are a little dated. But I was happy to see his new Toyota Corolla which was really nice to drive!

Fantastic experience: I got my Learners almost 2 years ago, finally booked lessons with another driving school last year but I had three different instructors which felt inconsistent as they all had different teaching methods. So I found the Canadian Driving School and Joe was absolutely amazing. I had 10 lessons with him + one extra lesson right before my class 5 road test, I cannot recommend him enough. I'm a nervous driver, but he made me feel so comfortable, never made me feel stupid and he helped me build confidence. I apologized often when I made mistakes but he always told me it's okay and helped me learn better every lesson. I had my road test today. Because I am still a nervous driver, the last lesson with him right before the test didn't go as well as I would have liked it to be, because I kept panicking and rushed things. He told me multiple times, don't panic, take one thing at a time and try to relax and even though I still have a few things I really need to work on, I kept that in mind during the test and I PASSED! It was my first try and it’s all thanks to Joe that helped me get my Novice license. Having a driving instructor who makes you feel comfortable makes a huge difference and I am so happy I found Joe. As nervous as I am driving, I actually started to enjoy driving. I was so relieved and happy that I actually asked him if I could hug him. Thank you for all the lessons Joe. Fantastic experience: I never leave reviews for anything, but Joe is the absolute greatest! Such a pro. I had not the best experience with an instructor from another driving school - I switched over to Joe and passed my road test after two lessons. He was so patient, taught me the best methods for parking, and was so encouraging. He covered everything I needed to know, was up-to-date on all the signage (school zones etc) in my test area. The price is also great. I cannot recommend enough. Will be passing Joe along to anyone I know who needs lessons in Vancouver!

Just before my scheduled road test, I had to go on an unavoidable last minute trip for a couple weeks (with no opportunities to practice driving there), came back just a day and a half before my scheduled road test, and was therefore anxious about my road test. Joe was very understanding about this, and was kind enough to take time out of his own schedule to give me a last-minute lesson before I went for my road test, which I passed on my first attempt! With only 13 lessons, he taught me everything I needed to know for my road test. Fantastic experience: I came in with barely any driving experience and Joe's 5 class package taught me everything I needed to pass my N road test at first try. Beginner packages with other driving schools are overpriced, claim you need 10-30 classes (which is excessive) and have long waitlists. Joe's instruction comes at a great price, he's accommodating with scheduling, does pickup and drop-off, and is very punctual. Really appreciated his straight forward approach and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Don't bother wasting your time exploring other options, the Canadian Driving School is where its at!

Fantastic experience: I am very happy after passing my road test and taking lessons from joe. In the past I took lessons from other driving schools but I had a really bad experience and it made me really nervous. After my driving lessons with joe I was super confident on the road and he was always patient. His parallel parking and reverse parking methods are very simple and easy to learn. Fantastic experience: I will preface this review by saying that I am a 24-year old that put off driving for years and years from anxiety and fear of driving so I started with ZERO experience. But with Joe as my instructor, I passed my Class 7 on the first try today :) When searching online, I considered many instructors and even a $1000+ driving program. Ultimately, I chose Joe because his straightforward lesson plans were the most reasonably priced in the Vancouver area. I am happy that I did. Joe is a wonderful instructor. When I first messaged him, he replied promptly. I had a lot of questions at first (how many lessons do you think I should take? When do you think I should start taking lessons if my driving test is on XX day? How should I space out my lessons?) and he replied kindly to all of it. The lessons themselves were always very comfortable and Joe is extremely patient. He will go through EVERYTHING you need to know for the test (this includes: left and right turns; changing lanes, scanning and checks; parallel parking and reverse backing in; uphill and downhill parking; pulling over; hazard perception and more). He is very simple and straight to the point with his lessons. Nothing fancy. He isn't an intimidatingly strict instructor either so don't worry! He will give you tips and tricks and reinforce these instructions as you are driving. You will spend the entire 1.5 hours driving and getting your money's worth. He is in it for his students' success, NOT to scam you into paying for more lessons than you need. Each lesson was valuable practice. Joe will take you around the familiar areas near your testing site and be there to constantly give you reminders. He will point out errors and tell you ways to avoid making the same errors so that you are always a safe driver. A LOT of emphasis on being a smart and vigilant driver. Also, he is always on time. He is very accommodating to your availability and will try his best to fit a lesson in for you in his schedule. He wants his students to do well and it shows. (Thanks again, Joe, for all of your help!)

Fantastic experience: Really glad to have him as my driving instructor for my class 5 test. Joe is really kind, knowledgable, and patience throughout the lessons. He always give really good and relatable examples on top of the rules as a road users. Aside from his quality teaching, the price is affordable and reasonable, which I think it's the cheapest amongst all the prices that I know of in Vancouver area.

From parallel parking to three-point turns, Joe taught me tips and tricks to feel comfortable as a driver in the city. Very grateful for all the time and effort Joe gives to his students. I will be back for more lessons, when it's time for my Class 5 :)

He also had so many tips and tricks that it made me feel more comfortable going into the test. Fantastic experience: This was my third road test and eventhough i did not pass due to my own mistake, I would rate Joe highly for being a patient and professional instructor. Joe was my third instructor and by far the best. The best part is he doesnt get angry and encourages you to improve on your mistakes. Fantastic experience: Joe at The Canadian Driving School was excellent. I contacted Joe to get lessons for my daughter. He responded promptly and confirmed driving lesson dates and times within a few days. He always followed up with any questions I had and his lesson prices are very reasonable. He always showed up on time and gave my daughter something to work on after each lesson. After just 4 lessons and some driving time with her parents, my daughter was able to pass her driving test with almost no errors on the first try. Fantastic experience: Thanks to Joe, I passed my road test on my first attempt! I had about six lessons before my road test and each lesson was efficient and useful. I had little to no experience before practicing with Joe but he was extremely patient, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. He taught me how to parallel park and reverse park with a very simple method. Joe also goes over all other necessary components of the road test and gives great tips to help you pass! Fantastic experience: I previously trained under an expensive and reputed training school but I did not get any value for money, neither learnt much from the trainers, I infact had to face very rude trainers. Then I met Joe and I must admit I finally met someone who understands the ordeal each student goes through while training for the class 5 driving exam. Joe made sure I was comfortable in the CAR.
