Mary's Driving School: Reviews
Fantastic experience: "I can’t thank Mary enough for helping me pass my G2 test on the first try! She is incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and professional. Mary not only taught me the technical skills but also built my confidence behind the wheel. Her clear instructions and calm demeanour made the learning process enjoyable and stress-free. I highly recommend Mary to anyone looking for a skilled and supportive Thanks again Mary for showing me the big picture
Fantastic experience: Great driving instructor! I passed my G license examination on the first attempt. I would highly recommend Mary's Driving School to any level of driver with different experience levels. She also offers affordable rates and options in my opinion which makes her school even better!
Fantastic experience: Great driving school best price professional and punctual and teaches complex fancy driving and more advance driving many of my friends have passed the G test first try.
Fantastic experience: Great drive school and best price Mary taught many of my friends from ages 78, 35, 25 and have their full license now. I would recommend using Mary’s driving school I have used Mary driving school personally and will say it’s the best.
Negative experience: Where do I even begin? My experience with Mary was nothing short of abysmal, and I couldn’t even complete all 20 lessons that my sister and I had signed up for. My mother paid the full $600 for all the lessons in advance, in cash, during our first session. Had we known it was possible to pay after each lesson, we would have never committed to this arrangement upfront. The lack of professionalism and countless excuses were truly unmatched. For instance, my second lesson was scheduled for 2 PM. I waited for two hours without any communication from her. After calling to inquire, she casually mentioned she was "on her way," arriving a full two hours late! While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, a simple phone call to notify me would have made a world of difference. For my third lesson, she called and rescheduled it to Friday at 8 PM. Concerned about driving at night, I called her on Monday, several hours in advance, to request a different time. She curtly reminded me that lessons must be rescheduled 48 hours prior, despite the fact that she had been rescheduling lessons on a whim. When I explained my concern, the situation escalated. She began hurling insults at me, my sister, and even our mother, calling us "stupid." Reluctantly, she agreed to stick to the originally scheduled time, warning that if no one was outside when she arrived, she would leave. We waited for her at the agreed time—she never showed up. During the lessons we did manage to attend, her teaching methods were utterly counterproductive. She would frequently intervene by braking unnecessarily or turning the steering wheel for me. This approach rendered the entire exercise pointless, as I wasn’t actually being taught how to drive. After two days of silence, my mother called Mary to discuss how we could proceed with the remaining 15 lessons. Before my mother could even finish her question, Mary erupted in anger, shouting at her and continuing to insult both me and my sister. She then changed her story about the lesson structure. Initially, she had explained that each lesson was two hours long, but now she was calculating the lessons in one-hour increments, effectively halving the total number of sessions we had paid for. In the middle of this chaos, she made dismissive remarks about her 40 years of experience in Canada, suggesting that our five years here somehow disqualified us from questioning her actions. Her attitude was condescending and reeked of prejudice. In conclusion, Mary is a rude, unprofessional, and deceptive individual. If you’re looking for driving lessons, save yourself the stress and avoid her services—especially if you're Black.
Negative experience: Recently, I had driving lessons with this woman, around 30 hours and it was terrible. 1. She was rumbling on all the time while I drove; 2. She never listened to me. For instance, when I asked her to practice more parking but she wasted my lessons just driving around the city; 3. Also, she said all the time that I was not ready for the driving test, and for every small mistake (such as slightly hard breaking) she said “Automatically fail” and after each lesson, I felt that I am a very bad driver and will never pass the exam. 4. Her car is super dirty and uncomfortable. The smell is awful and there is too much trash on the back seats. 5. She doesn’t allow you to turn the steering wheel too much despite you are a student and just learning. She often touches the steering wheel whenever she wants and you cannot understand what happened because she doesn't give you an explanation why she did it. The same about brakes. 6. Every lesson, she mentioned that I needed more lessons, at least 50-60 hours, and told scary stories about people who didn't take enough hours. 7. And the last one, is that she showed me her million postcards from her previous students and spent almost two hours on them from my first two lessons. Considering these reasons, I can’t recommend her as a driving instructor. However, she thinks and says that she is the best driving instructor in Ontario.
Negative experience: I had around 50 hours of in-car training with Mary. Here is my comprehensive review of the services that I received. Pros The price is reasonable. She charges $40 an hour, which is relatively cheap compared to other instructors. This allows one to have more training. She shared some good tips and advice from time to time, and I learned something from her. Cons - Teaching quality. Mary boasts a lot that she is the best instructor in Ontario, but she rarely reviews various complex road situations. Also, if I hadn't asked her, she wouldn't have analyzed my mistakes in-depth, leading to the situation where I had to make the same mistakes multiple times before I understood what had been done incorrectly; - Bizare limitations. Mary doesn't allow her students to turn the steering wheel all the way to left or right, as, in her opinion, it's damaging her car badly. Because of that, you will be forced to use the hardest approaches for parking, which is very frustrating; - Stupid actions. She constantly changed gears. I asked her to stop doing so a couple of times and let me control the vehicle by myself, but she would still do that, which led to the situation where I wasn't used to changing gears by myself. This is very dangerous and may easily cause you to fail the road test! - Communication. Most of the time, Mary didn't react to my concerns. I remember mentioning a couple of times that I wanted to devote a couple of classes to parking only, as I was struggling a bit with it, but she wouldn't listen and just ignored my requests; - Feedback. Mary never gave me detailed feedback on my progress. Moreover, she kept telling me that my skills wouldn't get me G2, and I had to train way more. However, when I tried to ask her to do more parking, she would refuse to train it more actively; - Time management. Very often, Mary was 3-5 minutes late. On top of that, in almost every lesson, she would step away for another 10+ minutes to handle her personal matters. She never asked if I was OK with that, and she extended our lesson only once, but I always paid for the full two hours. And she still shows off her stupid cards, where people thanked her. I was never interested in seeing those and just wanted to drive, but one day she took 30 minutes to demonstrate to me her collection of cards; - Car hygiene. The condition of the Mary's vehicle is horrendous. It's very dirty and filled with some garbage on the backseat. At some point, I got very worried about my G2 test success. After taking so many classes with Mary, I still wasn't confident in my skills, hence I decided to change the instructor. When I communicated my intentions to Mary, she became furious and started to insult my wife and me, who had also had some training with Mary. I would ignore this inadequate behavior, but she threatened to cancel my G2 test, and I couldn't tolerate that. I had to visit the DriveTest facility and report this crazy woman. IF MARY THREATENS TO CANCEL YOUR TEST. Just go to the DriveTest center, report her, and request the pamphlet that will hold your booking details.
Fantastic experience: There are no words powerful enough to explain how thankful I am for Mary. She took me from 0 experience to getting my G2 on the first try. She has taught me so much about seeing the big picture, how to be a safe/defensive driver and more. When I first started with learning how to drive, I was so nervous, but Mary was so patient with me. If you’re trying to pick a driving school, pick Mary. She has 37+ years of experience. Nothing/no one in KW can compare with her.
Fantastic experience: Mary is very good instructor in KWC, she is very professional and thorow. She taught me defensive driving and BIG PICTURE, which i am sure not any another school teach students. She put me on the road when it was Safe and I felt confident. I passed G2 with her in first time! Thanks alot Mary for teaching me all the skills of driving✌ Contact her if you are in KWC and don't waste money on some random people who are not real instructors..
Fantastic experience: Passed my g2 test first try! Mary is a great instructor, defensive driving was taught and more advanced driving skills were delivered and all reach ministry standard's. Thanks Mary!
Fantastic experience: Mary was an amazing teacher. Passed on my first try for my G2! Thank you! She is very knowledgeable and professional.
Fantastic experience: I enrolled in Mary’s Driving School a month ago, and it's been an incredible experiencing driving with Mary. From day one, she was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable of directions. She made me feel comfortable behind the wheel, even when I was nervous and allowed me to pass my G2 test just within a short span of one month, thanks to her BIG PICTURE and amazing teaching skills. Without Mary’s help I wouldn’t have been able to pass my test G2 test after the first try. What I appreciated most about Mary’s driving school is her personalized approach to teaching her lessons that will always stick with me even outside of driving school and for the rest of my life driving on the road. She also provided me with the safety needed to know, that she is a real qualified instructor, and reminds me every-time I have lessons with her. Thanks to Mary, I wouldn’t have gained the knowledge and skills to driving that I have now. Thank you!!
Negative experience: Terrible horrible. She’s the worst to colour people she yells and doesn’t teach anything. Please save your money !!!!!!Don’t give money in advance for classes She won’t give it back!!!!!!!!!. She’s also a scammer she took my money and didn’t book my g2 test . Worst instructor ever. She usually uses her phone and talk too much while teaching. She keeps asking me to pull over, showing her cards and telling how good she is, which wasted too much time without practicing. Who cares about your cards!!!! Pure evil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic experience: Mary is very professional driving instructor, more than anything she cares about you. She prepares her students to not only get driving license but also to be safe of the road. Her instructions and guidance has helped me get my G2 on first attempt. Thank you Mary for helping me out. She is very helpful and flexible instructor. She goes up and beyond to help youget your test dates, gives real case scenario and teaches you defensive driving she is a very experienced driving instructor and I would recommend everyone to get her for their driving classes. Thank you Mary
Negative experience: Single mother of 3, Mary ripped me off today took my money to let me use her vehicle for the road test then she came up with the excuse that her break light wasn’t working. Okay fine so give me my money back - no she instead tried to hit me leaving the parking lot and screwing me over for my drivers test. I have paid Mary well over 2000$ and she has not taught me how to drive, I can barley understand her and her teaching ways are her just doing it Save your money and go to a different school, This lady will only screw you over in the end… ANY OTHER SCHOOL IS BETTER THEN MARYS DRIVING SCHOOL!!!! 0 stars for your terrible way of running a businesses and for stealing food from my kids mouths! You should be ashamed of yourself Disgusting!
Fantastic experience: I just passed my G test with Mary, both my G2 and G were with her, i was a new driver in Canada and Mary taught me so well!! I passed the test both for 1st attempt!!! She gave confidence and taught me well how to be a defensive driver. I passed the test after the other gentlemen (80yold) also passed his senior test with Mary. Thank you Mary! Ill see you when i reach 80! Lol
Negative experience: I can't believe that this crook is still in business! I went to her many years ago and she was horrible. I paid for 2 hour driving lessons but only got one and a half hours because she said she could take 15 minutes to arrive and 15 to go to her next lesson! Why should I pay for her travel time? It's funny that all the reviews are either one star or five stars. Nothing in between. I am sure she is writing the good reviews for herself. Please don't be lured in by these 5 star reviews!! She is not worth wasting your time and money on! To update, I see she is closed for good. Good riddance!
Fantastic experience: Mary was the best driving instructor she helped me over come my bad anxiety after getting into a car accident with a Bob cat.. she was very patient helping me learn the bigger picture I will miss our amazing funny conversations thank u Mary for helping me pass my g2 my first try I will always recommend Mary to everyone thank u Mary for being so patient with me and helping me over come my anxiety I will miss u and our funny conversations I will miss u making me laugh
Fantastic experience: Mary was great with me ! getting my G2 and G I passed the first time both classes! She’s very dedicated to her students success. She’s a very trustworthy teacher and I appreciate all she has done for me. She has my utmost trust in terms of lessons and being ready for every examination.
Fantastic experience: Mary you are an Amazing instructor ! I’m in awe of your excellent approach to an overall training and safety standards. Most of all the confidence you give to the students with your patience and knowledge …every body can learn to drive perfectly with you. Thank you
Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience driving and learning with Mary. I passed my G2 first time with no problems. Anyone looking for an experienced teacher go with Mary.
Fantastic experience: mary tought me alot and i am happy to say mary is a great driving school teacher and would 100% recommend her if you are looking for a teacher. i went through lessons with mary and i passed when my g2 came around thank you so much mary
Negative experience: She spends a significant portion of the two hour lesson showing thank you cards by other students of hers to tell you how good she is. This is unprofessional behaviour. You should not be doing that on the learner's time, which you are charging them money for. You are wasting the learner's time AND money. Who really cares about your thank you cards? Is the learner actually learning anything actionable while you're busy showing them all these cards? Plus, a good teacher doesn't need to brag about how good they are and how many cards they got from their students. She also spends much of the time making you pull over to the curb and read old notes on paper instead of showing you in action how you're supposed to do things (or have the good sense to send some link or a copy post-lesson even if she wanted you to read that). She also spends much of the time talking only about other instructors and schools. Not just once for a few minutes, which would be excusable but constantly. Gives bad driving advice like using your horn if you're merging on a highway in case the traffic on the left lane doesn't give you a chance to merge. She also frequently grabs the steering wheel even when not warranted, and she does it for reasons like pulling over so she can show you all those thank you cards by other students, for example. 2 hours is all she does, unlike other trainers. I understand doing 2 hours for driving near or around the drivetest center, but she will do 2 hours even if you're not going to practice in the drivetest area. She is not a good trainer and is clearly oblivious to her behaviour and quite arrogant, too. Alerting all other learners to.. steer clear of her.
Fantastic experience: Hi Mary .Latha here. Thanks for all your driving lessons. She is a highly skilled Instructor and professional , absolutely no second thought coming to her for driving. I took both my G2 and G with her , cleared in first attempts with her. Life lessons learned when it comes to driving safely. She is so sweet, caring and highly talented instructor. Way to go Mary. Takecare.
Negative experience: The very worst experience was using this instructor, my favorite moments were those days I had to wait in the car on my paid time while she went food shopping (I notice she STILL does this to students). I see her OFTEN around my area... Also making me buy her coffee for her. Like I just gave her 80$, always had to pay ahead for the next class! I went to another driving school because she told me I will never get my license if I don't use her to do so...she still owes me 80$...which I will never see. I got my license with no thanks to her! AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL experience. If I could give minus stars I would! FILED with the BBB on her and the experience! if you see her RUN away as fast as you can! I am not the only one that feels this way and if there ARE any good reviews they were the lucky ones!!
Fantastic experience: I would recommend mary to everyone, I pass my g2 in one go ,if anyone wants to be safe and confident driver you should go to mary, she is not like other instructors who just focuse on things which you will be asked in the test but she will train you for all the seatuation which can come at any time on the road including the things which you need to pass the test.
Fantastic experience: After failing twice with fake instructors, I called Mary. After few classes, I passed my G2. She’s very skilled and very professional of her job. Thanks Mary!!! See you soon for G .
Fantastic experience: I went and took driving classes with Mary after I had failed my first road test. I’m so glad that I did Mary taught me so much and gave me the confidence I needed and reassured me after all my lessons that I would pass my road test the next time I went and she was right I 100% passed my G2 road test and it was all thanks to Mary. So thank you Mary from the bottom of my heart for everything you did for me
Fantastic experience: Mary, was so supportive and patient with my daughter. Especially after having a difficult time with another instructor at ultimate driving school who never taught her anything. Mary started from the beginning with her and I asked her to please let me know if she thought if my daughter was ready for her road test and it was thanks to Mary for having the patience that my daughter passed her road test. I highly recommend her and Mary’s driving school.
Fantastic experience: mary is hilarious, disciplined, focused, and efficient as a teacher!! always remember the big picture and watch out for grandmas paid by ministry
Fantastic experience: Best instructor. Mary is highly professional and knows her job really well. I highly recommend Mary if you are looking to learn driving not just to pass the test but as a life long skill. I will remember Mary and her jokes esp Grandpa Grandma Suzy Jaffrey and the BIG PICTURE!!! Mary you are my life saver!!! Thanks alot!
Fantastic experience: Amazing teacher wish her the best!
Negative experience: SCAM ALERT!!! Stay Away from this Lady. She is only focussed on making Money. And deceiving people by showing a chart of “previous student work” and a few greeting cards. She will always talk negatively of your driving skills so that you can take more classes and keep paying her money. I paid for the car for my drive test and she denied to come to my drive test a week before. Her only focus is luring money, deceiving people and she keeps saying you’re not confident yet for the test. I took 3 hrs classes with other instructor and passed my G2 on first attempt. Run…Run as fast as you can from this joker.
Negative experience: Just got off the phone suggesting they look into the driver of a vehicle that was coming close to running off the road. I pulled up beside the passenger side at a stoplight Queen and highland where I was snubbed and also on the phone to administration.nimetpus call backs. Very unprofessional.
Negative experience: SHE’S LIER AND DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO TALK !!!!!! Save your money and avoid this establishment! Mary will try to entice you with the lowest rates in town, only to demand more and more money, claiming you don't have enough experience to take the road tests. I changed driving schools and passed my g1, g2, and g on the first try! I also filed a complaint against this driving school and instructor with the consumer complaints for businesses. She also records her negative reviews and writes her positive ones herself. Try removing this review again, Mary, and I will undoubtedly return and post another!
Negative experience: Worst instructor. Don’t even know how to talk to people.
Fantastic experience: You have made the best decision by choosing Mary as your driving instructor. Mary’s 35 years of experience speaks for itself; she is the most professional and knowledgeable teacher in the Kitchener Waterloo area. I love her approach of always seeing the BIG PICTURE and being a SAFE DRIVER. Mary is the DRIVING ENCYCLOPEDIA. She always answers all your questions; even if you think they are silly, she explains in detail why there is a rule and how it ensures your safety. Mary teaches you every skill in the book and she has the best techniques out there. You will not depend on technology and the latest car features to be a safe or good driver. She does not skimp on teaching just because it will not be tested on the exam and does not believe in shortcuts to pass the exam. Mary is very patient, flexible, friendly, and punctual. Mary will guide you step by step in preparing for the road test and build your confidence for the test and driving in general. I love that Mary does not sugarcoat things to motivate you she tells you as it is. If you are not a safe driver and ready to take the test, she will not hesitate in telling you that. I can not thank her enough for what she has taught me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to everyone.
Fantastic experience: Long over due review. If you wanna learn how to drive, go to Mary! Her approach will be long lasting and will stay with you well past the day you pass your driving test. You can be gauranted under her watchful eye, there will only be the one time. The first time you go for your test will be the only time you go for your test. Grateful for her dedication- this lady will wake up at 4am, just to be on the road for a 5am lesson, now that's commitment! I came in from Toronto for lessons and she would always pick me up downtown and drop me off too, how kind! Grateful for her stories, her voice going through my head, even now, "pick up the speed." Hahaha Mary, you're awesome! Grateful for her being a woman too and running her own business.
Negative experience: Sunday sept. 11 instructor not teaching properly as no signals used while changing lanes than instructor grabbed steering wheel to correct student
Fantastic experience: I would recommend Mary’s driving school to anyone who is just starting to learn or want to improve their skills. I passed my G2 on my first try. She is a patient and very skilled driving instructor. Look at the big picture.
Fantastic experience: I passed my G2 first try thanks to Mary. She was knowledgeable and patient. I've been considering going for a couple of lessons before my full G test just to make sure I pass. She made me feel confident that I would pass.
Fantastic experience: I will give Mary's Driving school more than 5 stars. She knows what do to do and She is very patience and understandable person. Today I got my G and I took lessons for the G2 with her as well and both were approved. If you are looking for someone that more than teach you a road.. will teach to to drive definitely you want to take classes with her. Some people can say that she is rude but she is not. her personality is so nice she always wants to help you. I decided to take pictures with her demonstrating how happy I was with her lessons and with her company during this process. Thank you very much and All the best..
Negative experience: WARNING: Do not give this woman your driver’s license number under any condition. She files them and has the ability to cancel bookings, even the ones you make without her. She uses this method to free up slots for her current students. Besides her questionable ethics and nasty personality, as many reviewers have noted, this woman couldn’t teach a fish to swim.
Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!! She was teaching while she had pneumonia and she even went grocery shopping in the middle of my friend’s lesson. She doesn’t teach you anything, she just keeps talking about random things and other people and doesn’t give you feedback. She yells for no reason. AND SHE ALWAYS TRIES TO PLAY VICTIM! She keeps telling everyone that’s she’s doing them a favour. She’s rude, arrogant and condescending. She spends too much time on the phone and showing thank you cards she got from former students. Even with my experience, I would be driving and she would ask me to change my lane…which is fine, except she would grab the wheel and try to change the lane for me when I would be checking my blind spot (she’s almost caused several accidents doing this)
Fantastic experience: Mary is a good teacher she helped me to get my G2 and I passed on the first try.highly recommend come and see her she will teach you what a BIG PICTURE is I can’t wait to come back for my G test
Fantastic experience: Mary is the best driving instructor ever. she helped me to get my G2 and G license in one shot. I enjoyed her grandma, suize, Mr. perfect jokes while driving and looking for pedestrians. She knows routes where driving instructor takes us.
Negative experience: Worst instructor ever. She usually uses her phone and talk too much while teaching. She keeps asking me to pull over, showing her cards and telling how good she is, which wasted too much time without practicing. Who cares about your cards???
Negative experience: I told her before we met that our goal from the driving school is to obtain a school license, I paid her $400 in cash, and after training for 10 hours, she said that I only train by car and do not give a school license, you can buy it from another place
Fantastic experience: Taught dad how to drive and I went here almost 10 years ago and both of us still have yet to have an accident! Still recommend this to all my younger family members. Glad to see this place is still here doing the lords work!
Fantastic experience: Mary herself is a good teacher, very patient, teaching you step by step and you will love her conversations/chats. "REMEBER THE BIG PICTURE"
Fantastic experience: One of the best teacher in my life. I will recommend Mary’s driving School is the best in town I got my G2 in first attempt. I always remember “ BIG PICTURE” in road and in life. Thank you very much.
Negative experience: She will just scream at you and put you down. Worst experience of my life. Who cares about prices, go to another school TRUST ME. She is an awful human. Mary should not be running a business for young adults and driving. DO NOT PUT YOU KIDS IN THIS SCHOOL. You won't learn a thing about safe driving and you will just get screamed at by this monster. Constant name calling, anger and misery. DO NOT ATTEND THIS AWFUL "School". Pure evil. Mary should be put in jail the way she operates this business. Absolute joke. (By the way she makes fake 5 star reviews)
Fantastic experience: Definitely recommend!! Passed my G2 on first try all thanks to Mary. She's definitely not out there just to take your money like all the rest, she actually want's you to succeed! Even the examiner said I had the best teacher out there
Fantastic experience: A fantastic driving instructor. She accommodated me whenever I needed, she should honestly be charging more for what she provides, which is some truly excellent driving instructions. Thanks to her telling me several of the mistakes I was making (namely some aspects of observation) I was able to pass first try not three days ago and the examiner said that my observation, was in fact, fantastic!
Fantastic experience: Amazing driving teacher, she got me ready for my G2 test and I passed on the first try! Thanks Mary!
Fantastic experience: I took a few refresher lessons with Mary learning how to drive in Canada after driving abroad for a long time and I was able to pass my G2 exam on my first try, sometimes people need that kind of tough love to push them to learn better and to remember their mistakes better so they wont repeat them, thank you Mary! Best wishes.
Fantastic experience: For anyone who is looking to take driving lessons I HIGHLY recommend Mary’s driving school. I came from another driving school in Kitchener that did no where near prepare me fully for my g2 test and I failed. I heard amazing things about Mary’s Driving school and decided to book with her. Best decision I made. Mary taught me defensive driving, being observant and also how to be a confident driver. I passed my g2 right away. If you want seriously good lessons, go to Mary, no questions asked. Mary is very knowledgeable on the road and not to mention extremely nice with her students. If you want to pass your g2 or any drivers test, go to Mary.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Mary as the driving instructor as she is very patient, friendly and she helped me get my G2 in just 2 weeks. She is an amazing person.
Fantastic experience: I totally recommend Mary's school. I'm not Canadian, so I needed to lear how to drive here, cause of course rules are different. She was very patient and understanding, explained to me all my doubts, as many times I asked, she is always willing to adjust to your time, no matter how early or late u need it. You just have to do your part of the deal, she teaches you, but you have to be willing to learn and listen all her recommendations. I totally will go back for lessons for my G. Thank u Mary, you're the best!!
Fantastic experience: Great persistent teacher that gets the job done. Mary's in car driving classes are pretty dang good for the price. I passed my G2 test on my first try. I was not very excited for learning to drive because I was worried, but Mary helped me realize how its not hard but also not easy. She takes you on routes that are useful, learns what you need to work on and implements that into the lessons. She lets you know what is going to be on the G2 and even the routes that it is on. Mary will make sure you know your stuff. She even tries to start conversations during the 2 hour classes so it doesn't get boring, and likes to have a good laugh. You may look at other reviews here and read that she is a 'bad' teacher, but that just means that those reviewers are spoiled. Ya she is a bit old school but so what? Mary is a valued teacher, not a baby sitter. She is still a persistent teacher, meaning that she will (and has in her 30 years) taught students that need extra help and care. But do not be lazy or take advantage of her service, that's probably what these reviewers did. Great overall, would definitely recommend. - Niko, 17
Negative experience: This may seem irrelevant but I watched the worst display of the teaching of driving in my front yard today. Picture a basketball rolling peacefully through the middle of the road. Children on their way to retrieve it as a Mary's driving school car makes its way up the road. The driver and student both should have and probably did see the ball. I'm sure mass confusion struck the car as I watched it slow down, let the ball roll right underneath, and then speed right back up again... *POP* The ball bursts. Dreams break. And my slightly used $35 basketball is torn to pieces. I wanted to express my anger, but the car had already flew off in a light screech up the road. Not sure what I want out of this. But I would've liked to see the instructor teach the student how to slow down, or stop as we grabbed the ball. Or pay for my $35 entertainment system. A shame really. But hopefully a lesson learned. Have a good day
Fantastic experience: This happens to most of us...we pass G2 (you have 5 years to practice for G test)... in the first bit we are following road rules and courteous drivers, than you get comfortable driving on your own and start sliding into some bad habits and it happens a lot more than not. That is what happened with me. So in October 2020 I decided I would like to go for the G test and get my G license. I thought to myself it would be a good idea to look for an instructor to help refresh my good habits and make me a better driver again. I googled and found Mary's Driving school, called her and took 3 lessons. I am grateful I did! Mary helped me get back my good driving habits. Mary pointed out what I was doing wrong and helped me correct it on the spot. So fast forward February 25, 2021 I felt confident enough drive in for my G test by myself using my own vehicle and I passed! Thank you Mary.
Fantastic experience: Mary was very helpful in getting me in last minute. I started lessons in November and I got my G2 in my first try today! Would reccomend to anyone who wants to pass! I will be back before my G test to see you again! Mary went above and beyond to get me a test time that was not 3 or 4 months later!
Fantastic experience: Amazing teacher ,Mary is the best teacher, she give you alot of skills and so patient ,for this reason i have my G2 license thank you Mary ypu are amazing person ⚘
Negative experience: Terrible horrible. She’s the worst to colour people she yells and doesn’t teach anything. Please save your money. She’s also a scammer she took my money and didn’t book my g2 test .
Fantastic experience: I never thought about driving even in my dreams, now bcs of mary im able to drive safely. Thanks to Mary

Fantastic experience: Passed my G2 on the first try! Thanks Mary!
Fantastic experience: Mary has decades of experience in this field. I was able to get my G license on first attempt since she thoroughly guided me how to be safe driver on the road. Thanks Mary!!
Fantastic experience: Mary is very skilled & experienced in providing driving tutorials. She helped me to pass G2 and her teachings made me a skilled & safe driver today. I felt very confident on my test day and it wasnt a hard job to pass, because she made me skilled to do so. If you want to pass your driving test, Mary's Driving School is one stop destination for you guyz. All the best everyone
Fantastic experience: I practice with Mary for my G2 road test. With Mary's advice I pass the road test on the first try. She teaches well. Thank you Mary
Negative experience: Just don't bother trust me she has zero patience and talks far to much.
Fantastic experience: Two months after I came to Canada, I got my G driver license in my first test. Preparing for the exam with Mary helped me a lot. She is a professional and really knows her job. She is just a little disciplined. If you listen to her and do what she says, you can get your G driver license in the first test in one go. This September, my wife will take G test and first Mary will teach her how to drive. Thank you Mary.
Fantastic experience: Mary is by far the best at her job! She is very helpful and caring and goes to all lengths to make sure you get in sessions! I had been to another school before and had still felt terrified and could hardly drive on the road when I went to Mary. Because of Mary I just past my g2 on my first try and feel confident behind the wheel!
Fantastic experience: Having spent five years doing city and highway driving with my G2, I needed someone to help me prepare for my G exam. I had two sessions with Mary and passed my test on my first try, and I couldn't have done it without her help. She was able to point out many little things that I needed to correct in order to pass, and she knows the routes the driving instructor takes. Mary's approach may not be suitable for everyone, but if it works for you then she's a great instructor and her rates can't be beat.
Negative experience: I don't recommend her. She was the only rude person I met in Canada. Though her driving skills are good, she talks a lot and her car is so smelly, I ended up getting headache.
Negative experience: Dont think I would recommend her. Was just stopped at a 4 way stop it was my turn to go and she headed straight towards me making me hit my breaks so she didnt hit the side of my car... I am pretty sure they are suppose to know how to enter a 4 way stop.... apparently NOT was an older lady driving.
Fantastic experience: Mary is hands down the best driving instructor ever. Passed my G2 road test with only 10hours of lessons with her. Loved her grandma/Suzie jokes that really gave me a perspective of what what it means to be driving defensively whilst protecting the pedestrians. 10/10 would recommend. She is very patient with her students and takes her time to repeating parking maneuvers etc until they can perfectly complete them. She actually rescheduled her other students appointments to give me a 4hour lesson the day before the road test since I still had problems with lane changes and reverse parking. I think that really helped me pass the test given I had very little prior driving experience. Her prices are also quite reasonable. Drive Safe!
Fantastic experience: Mary is a very kind and talented driving instructor she’s super critical and patient and she will make sure you have a big picture of the road. She will make sure you reach all ministry standards and pass your test. Mary’s driving school is the best!
Fantastic experience: I’m so glad I found Mary’s driving school they helped me learn to drive from scratch and to drive with defensive skills. Thanks to her I passed my G2 test first try with a very high score. I would highly recommend Mary’s driving school to everyone, any age (senior citizens), new immigrants, people with no prior practice driving, everyone!! She’s so helpful and kind she even helped me find a great deal on a brand new car. Can’t wait to go for more lessons with her for my full G! Which I’m sure to pass with her teaching!!
Fantastic experience: I've only been here in Canada for a year and half and I was able to pass my test because of her. If you guys are driving and youre already confident on what youre doing, talk to her if you can do something else. Don't wait for instructions all the time. Mary youre the best! Thanks for helping me.
Negative experience: Really bad experience in Canada with this lady she always say people come from another country don’t know how to walk in Canada and she is really rude and not a good instructor
Fantastic experience: Mary is a great driving instructor. She is straight to the point and provides great tips instructions for new drivers. She is flexible with scheduling. I went from no driving experience to passing my G2 on first try with 20 hours of in-car driving with Mary.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Mary , such a nice and pleasant personality .she makes you feel very comfortable and confident in your driving . Very helping and kind person. I personally recommend everybody to go for your driving classes with her. Got my G2 and looking forward to get my G licence with her help. Thank you Mary for all your help and efforts. Jyoti
Fantastic experience: Mary is very experienced and very punctual. Her rates are very competitive as well. I took a few lessons with her and I was able to pass my G test in my first attempt. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Mary is the best instructor I know around town. She makes the lessons interesting, it's affordable, she's flexible with schedules and works well with her clients. I passed my G2 on my very first attempt. Many thanks and lots of bleesings to you Mary.......looking forward to going for G.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely hands down driving experience person. Very help full and good
Fantastic experience: Mary will help bring you up to speed very quickly, her style is brutally honest and helps bring you up to speed in the most efficient way possible. If you want someone who will help bring results, she is the instructor for you.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Mary. She is very nice and has great stories and makes you feel comfortable regardless of your level of driving experience. She is an excellent instructor for novice drivers and has loads of experience and stories of other students that allow you to learn key details about actually driving that you won't read about in the manual.
Positive experience: Great Instructor who is very accommodating highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Best trainer, She made me learn everything and I cleared my drivers test with ease.
Fantastic experience: Mary is incradible. Like i was a scared 28 year old never driven and sucked. What she had done was amazing. She took me from never driving to passing my g2 on the first try. If there were more room ill tell you all of the benefits, but just take her coarse for yourself and find out... first price unbeatable second...passed on first try...boom. Oh yah watch out for gramma paid by ministry!!
Negative experience: Worst instructor ever. Aggressive and very rude. Shouldnt waste your time here
Negative experience: I have been with this lady. She made for me discount , but she told me that I had to pay for 20 lessons before we began. I paid all the money in one time, unfortunately, she was the worst instructor i have ever seen. Every time she took me to a parking lot and she asked to make back up parking which I was new and I didn’t know that, this parking is NOT required in the test. 20 lessons was just in the reversing parking. On our way to the parking lot, she just look to the street houses and conunt how many garages each house has. And saying this house is huge. The owner might has lots of money. He should be a doctor. She was never focusing on how I drive and gossiping others driving schools and telling her stories . Also, she asked me to drive to the another students houses to pick them up for their lessonss. She was talking in her phone a lot. I Don’t recommend her. DON’T waste your money Iike me. If there were a 0 star in the reviews, I would give it to her.
Negative experience: the worst in town. crook for money. driving test using their car was in the deal. at the end says you have to pay for hat again. i will never recomend
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Mary. I've hired her twice now. To do my driving course and to help me with lessons before my road tests. She knows what she's doing and truly helped prepare me for my road tests. You're going to be taught valuable information that which will help you to pass, that isn't all necessary in the driver's handbook. Thank you Mary, Anna.
Negative experience: Her rate is probably the cheapest in town but you won't get to learn much. Wasn't the best experience I'd say and leave it at that.
Fantastic experience: What a lovely experience! Passed my g2 on my first try!!!
Negative experience: just saw an older women driving a mary’s driving school car and she was talking on her cell phone!!!! what the heck, is that what you’re teaching you’re students?
Negative experience: She asked me $150 as advance as $30 per hour. After 3.5 hours she asked another $150. As i said i have not even completed 5 hour, she got aggressive and shouted at me and told me to get out of car. Ruined my whole day. She was behaving really rude way as she was quite sure that i am an international student and cannot do anything more. Never had such an experience in Canada.
