Canadian Tire Drivers Academy

Negative experience: I signed up for two driving lessons a month in advance. The driving instructor never confirmed the lesson so I called a few days before to confirm with the academy. They were helpful. The instructor showed up outside my apartment building and didn't bother informing me or calling me to let me know that they were outside. After 10 minutes, I called them asking to let me know when they are outside and that's when they said they were parked at the back of the building. That was the first 20 minutes of the class. I wanted to ask specific questions about the different areas for the test but the driving instructor told me that it would be covered in the next class. The next class I was waiting outside but the instructor decided that we couldn't run through the questions I had because there was alot of traffic so it was a waste of $200. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: My instructor was VJ for the in-class and in-car portion of the drivers academy. I was expecting very boring classes but my instructor made the classes very interesting and engaging. Same thing with the in-car lessons, the classes are very engaging and enjoyable. A great down-to-earth instructor, makes me enjoy learning about driving.

Fantastic experience: My partner recently completed some drivers training with CTDA with Amit. From start to finish Amit was amazing, extremely thorough, and helped my partner get his G2 License in a matter of months. He helped him gain confidence on the road while also targeting the requirements for the test, and we plan on going back for lessons for the highway driving as well. We didn't go with any in class lessons, just strictly in car lessons. Amit is the best!

Positive experience: I had 2 instructors for my G2 package, Michelle and VJ. They were both very helpful and patient. I especially liked Vijay style of teaching as it was quite effective. I did have some issues with the use of car package. My instructor recommended that I need additional lessons, which I booked and scheduled before my road test. However, I got a call from the academy that they are cancelling my use of car as I haven't taken the suggested lessons. When I explained to him that I have, he checked the records and agreed to it. I didn't appreciate the fact that I was called and told that they are cancelling my use of car without checking the facts and details. Overall, good experience; a bit expensive.
