Fantastic experience: Took me 8 lessons to go from "I'll never be able to get my license" to "I can definitely pass that test". I'd definitely recommend going for a mock test with him before the road test! He'll point out which areas people make mistakes and what to watch out for, you'll be more confident during the actual test!

He gives very straight forward directions and happily answers any questions given. He also is familiar with the routes that can be on the test and is very honest on whether you are ready to take it. Fantastic experience: THE SHORT VERSION I prepped for both the Class 7 and Class 5 road tests with Daniel (aka Hussein) from Universal Driving Academy. He was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible with scheduling and completely okay with repeating explanations or practice maneuvers when asked. I passed both my road tests and now have my full licence (Class 5). I would definitely recommend Daniel to family and friends. Five Stars! —————————————————————— THE LONG VERSION I successfully learned from, prepared for, and passed both my Class 7 (N) and Class 5 (full) road tests with Daniel (Hussein) from Universal Driving Academy. He was very flexible with scheduling; and was friendly, patient, and non-judgmental. Notably, Daniel was very willing to repeat instructions and/or practice until I understood and was comfortable with both the theory and the mechanics of maneuvers - so don't be afraid to let Daniel know if *you* feel like you need one more go at something (e.g. parallel parking) to feel confident, (even if Daniel already knows that you can do it ;-)). By the same token, Daniel didn't book me for more lessons than I actually needed when I tried to book an extra just before my Class 5 exam. Saying instead, “I could take your money, but you don't need the extra lesson. You're already ready”. In other words, he’s about teaching you to drive safely and confidently so you can pass your road test - NOT about charging the most he possibly can in the process. What Daniel did do before the exam, was make sure that I was very familiar with the area around the testing location, with the routes examiners usually took during the road tests, and with the sorts of traffic and/or hazards that I was likely to encounter during the exam. I could recommend lessons with Daniel at Universal Driving Academy to any of my family and friends wanting to get their licence(s) because I'd know they'd be in good hands. Five stars, well earned and much deserved!

Negative experience: I should have paid little bit more to the other driving school and gone with them. Since I was not familiar with burnaby route, I failed my class 5 the next day after my practice with this instructor. It was my fault I failed the test and I realized there are so many things on the actual class 5 road test and I was barely taught about them by the instructor. The instructor Hussein barely did anything other than guiding me left and right on the route. What a joke

Negative experience: Instructor mentioned there were only two routes in lougheed burnaby for class 5.They were the easiest ones but the actual test had a completely different route. Also didn’t cover all the routes with various signs, when I was with the instructor, he took me on a repeated route with similar and easy signs on the road. The whole point of mock test is to take a difficult route with a variety of signs on the road so we can learn and be prepared for everything on the road. This was a complete waste of money before the day of my actual test.

Fantastic experience: Mr Hussein perfectly walked me through ALL the hard parts of driving tests, what to do, what not to do, how to do shoulder checks, how to do mirror checks, how to park and back up, etc. He analyzed all my mistakes and corrected them which helped me pass my exam. Negative experience: The instructor is friendly and knows a bunch of tips useful for the driving and the road test. However, I found the communication quite challenging. First, he forgot about our first class (even though I sent the payment and a message the same morning!). Secondly, I felt that instead of focusing on my driving and improving the skills he only wanted to chat and have a good time, even though I explicitly requested not to bombard me with personal unrelated questions while on the road. Aside from that, I was surprised to hear inappropriate race related jokes and out of place comments about different cultures driving, "funny accents" etc. When I wanted to ask driving related things the instructor seems to find it hard to listen to a question without interrupting. I was emotionally exhausted after 90 min of such "conversations" and won't attend another class with him.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking to get your driving license from the first time, then you should take lessons with Hussein. He is one of the best instructor I have ever seen in burnaby. He is patient, professional and trustworthy. Parking was the toughest part but after the first class, I was able to do it independently. He helped me to get my class 5 license from the first time after few lessons with him. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn how to drive safely and smoothly.
