Bob has taught me driving habits that will stay with me. His teaching style is the best out of the instructors I've driven with. His explanations are clear and he's easy to get along with. Definitely recommend. 4 stars only because the first instructor I got matched with wasn't good, so I asked to be switched to Bob. Otherwise, my experience with Bob was 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Bob Karmakar of AMB Driving School enough, especially if you have anxiety about learning to drive. He's always calm and patient in the passenger seat and, over the course of his lessons, he will help to build your confidence behind the wheel. He's very friendly, gives clear instruction, is well-prepared for every lesson, and is very punctual with scheduling. With his instruction, I was able to pass my G1 exam in just one attempt.

Fantastic experience: I took lessons with Bob Karmakar at AMB driving school to prepare for my G2 road test, and I would highly recommend AMB to anyone learning to drive. Bob was extremely knowledgeable, patient, down to earth, and encouraging. I had put off getting my license for a while and was nervous driving, but before long I felt confident in the car thanks to Bob.

Positive experience: I’m grateful for the support of Suleman, who was skilled, patient, and helped me pass with confidence. However, the process to get matched with the right instructor was frustrating. I went through two instructors before being assigned to him. One instructor didn’t take the time to understand my previous driving experience, which made me feel like my time was being dismissed. Once I was set up with Suleman, my experience improved greatly. I’d recommend him highly, though the school’s matching process could use improvement.

Negative experience: During first lesson the instructor said you need to buy more driving lessons without even evaluating my performance properly. Telling me to take a bus and meet at a subway station on a Sunday morning at 7:30 am where there’s no subway service until 8:00 am. Shame on you

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with AMB, I am so glad that I chose it and I met my instructor Khaled Alkadi . He is a wonderful and experienced instructor who knows how to make students understand what they should do and what they shouldn't do. He is very patient and he is a nice person too, knowing that I am new to this area he shared a lot of useful information of the neighbourhood to me. I highly recommend choosing him as your instructor, and good luck to you all.

Negative experience: Terrible!! I completed my in class instruction and was ready for driving lessons then pandemic hit. Once things calmed down I had one driving lesson then they refused to give me what I paid for! I paid extra to use their car for driving test plus 20 hours of driving lessons. No refund was given as they refused to refund. I paid over $700. Think three times before you decide to go there. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Fantastic experience: My experience with AMB driving school started off horrible, the instructor was late and was not paying attention and left my son in a parked car outside a house for 20 minutes of the one hour class. However, AMB did their best to rectify this and gave us the class again with some reimbursement, the second instructor was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ With AMB and BOB KARMAKAR Supervisor Driving instructor. I would highly recommend Bob and his knowledge as a driving instructor.

Fantastic experience: I decided to go with AMB driving school due to the pricing not being too high and because the packages included classroom lessons, driving lessons, and the instructors car for the road test. I did the online version of the classroom lessons, which was packed full with important information that all drivers should know. For the driving lessons, my friend had referred me to Bob Karmakar. Bob was very helpful in teaching me general reference points when driving, such as left/right turns, parallel parking, and forward/reverse parking. Most importantly, he taught me to look out for potential hazards, so that I can react safely and quickly to them. Not only did he emphasize on safety driving, but he was incredibly patient with me and was always available to answers my questions when needed. Overall, from my experience I highly recommend Bob and AMB driving school for anyone looking to get their G license.

Fantastic experience: I had zero driving experience when I started to learn to drive and Bob (BOB KARMAKAR) is an excellent instructor of AMB driving School, who helped me pass my road test! Bob taught me everything from scratch. Even though I was pretty slow in learning and naturally bad at using machines and navigation, Bob was always patient and found ways to help me learn. His hard work and passion in teaching students can be found in the many materials he made himself - beautiful pictures demonstrating different ways of parking, marking scheme of drive test, etc. I also like how Bob was clear and specific in teaching driving skills and techniques, so I would not be confused during the lessons. Things that Bob taught me helped me tremendously in passing my road test and more importantly, helped me become a safe driver in my lifetime. Thank you Bob:)

Fantastic experience: Just passed my G2 test at Metro East! I've had lessons with two instructors here. Farshid helped me with basic in-car skills; his instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. Mokammel Hossain helped boost my confidence in driving; he gave me lots of advice as I drove, so I was able drive comfortably on the road and got myself the G2. Definitely recommend!

Negative experience: School offers one of the most affordable options for in-car lessons in Toronto, this is a fact. Unfortunately, the price reflects the quality of the "lessons" you get. I picked this school specifically because it was a closer location to home, and the reviews were really good compared to other driving schools. I called in and confirmed what the package was comprised of before signing up. I was told an instructor would reach out to me within 3 business days. I signed up for the 5hrs and a mini road test package to prepare for my G2 road test, which I failed with 7 practicing hours with my instructor. Just as a background info, I had previous driving experience and also practiced driving at least 4 times a week with a qualified G driver while taking my lessons. I opted to sign up for driving school so that I can learn the tips and tricks from a qualified driving instructor according to provincial standards. For the duration of my course package, I worked with one instructor and he was punctual. The reasons for giving it two stars: 1. Communication was unprofessional; he blamed faulty "miscommunication" for dismissing my messages regarding my availabilities to practice, road test schedule, and the lessons. Getting a response was very difficult, and he rejected every call I made. 2. Unhygienic car; it was the most unclean car I've been into, the entire car was filled with food crumbs and smears on car seats. He was snacking during my lessons. His car was very clean on the day I took my road test though. 3. Safety concerns w/ phone use; the only time my instructor was not on his phone was on the first day when he was driving. He was on his phone 80% of the time during my lessons. To me, this is a red flag. 4. Poor time management; zero preparedness coming to class. Despite me sending him constant reminders, he was never up to date on how many hours of practice I had, my exam schedule, or our lesson plan. I.e., When I've requested to spend more time practicing on certain areas I needed to work on, he would spend majority of the class going over one thing and at the end of the day, explain I'd need to sign up for more hours to get practice on other areas, which I did. It was a constant loophole, he told me I was ready to write the road test after our first session, then proceeded to tell me I needed more practice at the end of my last practice hour. I signed up for 2 additional hours which he said was enough. But of course he refused to go over the things I wanted to practice, only to tell me he "thought" I'd sign up for more hours so he didn't plan the lesson accordingly. He said it was a "miscommunication". Our conversation via text messages say otherwise. 5. Lack of transparency; the instructor advised me my 5hr in car lessons plus a mini road test involved 4hrs of practice time and one hour would be used for me to drive to the test centre. In fact, he mentioned that if I fail, he'd drop me off home but if I pass, I'd have to find a way back home. Just to clarify, this was not true, I called in and confirmed with the school, and they were more than happy to handle the issue w/ my instructor. Oddly, there's not a single review regarding my instructor, Faizullah. I hope my subpar experience is informative to future students. My time is just as valuable, and personal phone use during lessons should be prohibited especially when you have a student with a G1 behind the wheel. This is a safety concern. I don't understand how the school tolerates this or is even aware of this at all.. I deeply regret not reaching out to the office sooner making a request to switch my instructor. With all these concerns, the only reason why I'm giving it 2 stars is because the administrative team was very informative and helpful, they were able to help me right away when I had issues w/ my instructor. I hope they take the opportunity to reevaluate their current driving instructors.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience at AMB Driving school for my teenage son. The instructor Mokammel Hossain was amazing. He taught my son everything he needed to be a confident and safe driver and pass his G2 test. Highly recommend lessons here.

He was also flexible with booking and had good availability. My son feels well prepared for his test. Bob has immense patience teaching his clients and was instrumental in helping me get over my fear of driving. His calm demeanour coupled with a clear instructions led approach helped me master various skills of driving. Bob has years of rich teaching experience and knows the MTO Handbook like the back of his hand. Bob is also available for answering any questions via SMS and provides great knowledge resources to read and keep myself updated on the best practices. His teaching approach has a good balance of guidelines from MTO Handbook and practical hurdles faced during day to day driving. Thanks to Bob I cleared my G2 exam with flying colours ! I’m excited and looking forward to train for my G exam with Bob.

Fantastic experience: AMB driving school has a great Supervisor Driving instructor named Bob Karmakar. If you can, request for him to be your instructor. Bob goes above and beyond when teaching you. Bob is well prepared. Prior to my first lesson, Bob messaged me pictures of his car and all the features inside so I could have this information ahead of time. These pictures include Outside of car, license plate, diagram of pedals (gas, brake, parking break), gear shifts, and mirror adjustment controls. All of these pictures helped to ensure that I was able to know the features of his car before our first lesson. Bob is knowledgeable. Bob is always able to answer any questions you have about driving and the test. The maneuvers that he teaches are simple. He uses hand drawn diagrams to aid you in your understanding of how to park, do three point turns, and lane changes. Bob is friendly, unlike other instructors at AMB driving. Bob always shows up with a smile, excited to teach you and encourages you. He is respectful of your time and ensures that you have ample time to learn everything needed to be a safe driver. He respects your time by sending updates on his arrival time for your lessons. He shows genuine interest in you passing your test, when I passed he even took a picture of me with a sign that said pass, and messaged me after to congratulate me again. Bob is very accommodating, if you need to change a lesson on short notice for emergency reasons, he is very accommodating. His schedule is not too flexible but does his very best to ensure he is available when you are for lessons and test. Overall Bob Karmakar is a tremendous teacher, and was the key to me becoming a safe and successful driver.

Fantastic experience: I took 10 hours of driving practice with instructor Mokammel Hossain. He helped me to prepare for the G Full exam, which I successfully passed on my first try. I think that even if you have driving experience, the classes with AMB can be really helpful to get another perspective and improve your driving skills even more.

Fantastic experience: For the classroom part of the course, my daughter opted for the online, self-paced lessons. Although the lessons were quality, the online system was fraught with difficulties and we spent too much time dealing with technical issues to properly track her progress through the program and access required files. BOB KARMAKAR, her driving instructor was fabulous!!! His rappor with my daughter (and me) was easy and fun and communications via text with both of us was timely and reliable in between lessons. If we could do it again, I'd recommend in-person classroom lessons and I'm giving this school 5 stars because BOB was a superior instructor. My daughter passed her driving test on the first try!

Fantastic experience: AMB customer service was fantastic, I wasn’t able to get a hold of my first instructor and they assigned me a new one right away. My instructor, MD Mokammel Hossain was fantastic. Very supportive and was very patient. As an anxious driver, he was able to tailor his lessons for my needs. Highly recommend him for lessons!

Fantastic experience: I took my driving package of 5 classes with AMB driving school. The school was very accommodating of my schedule. I took classes with Md. Mokammel Hossain. He is an experienced driver, attentive, patient and answered all my questions. I got my G2 from first try. I took my G2 with my own car. Thank you and will be back for G licence!

Fantastic experience: Bob Karmakar of AMB Driving school was the best driving instructor I could ever ask for. I recently had the privilege of learning to drive with Bob Karmakar as my in car instructor, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for his exceptional guidance and support. After a discouraging experience with a previous instructor in my early 20s and also feeling emotionally drained from getting yelled at when I practicing with my dad, I felt hopeless about whether I'd ever learn to drive. However, Bob completely turned things around for me and made the entire process a positive and fulfilling one. I decided at age 31 it was time to try learning driving again after Bob was recommended by a friend who also learned driving well past his teenage years. He urged me to contact Bob if I was serious about learning to drive. After the first two lessons with him I could already see a big change in myself and how much I was getting better. I stopped gripping the steering wheel in fear. From day one, Bob demonstrated an incredible amount of patience and understanding. He recognized my lack of confidence and constantly encouraged me, assuring me that I had the ability to become a skilled driver. His unwavering belief in my capabilities helped me overcome my self-doubt and provided the necessary motivation to persevere. He kept telling me to believe in myself, to not doubt myself because I know what I'm doing. I have social anxiety but I felt at ease during my driving lessons with Bob. Once I started the car I could feel my anxiety about driving melt away. One aspect of Bob's professionalism that I greatly admire is his promptness and reliability. He never kept me waiting or left me guessing if he would show up for our lessons. He texts to let you know when he will be at your place. Even when he injured his back, he prioritized my progress and the lessons continued as scheduled. This level of commitment and dependability is truly commendable. Throughout my lessons, I always felt safe and secure under Bob's guidance. He was keenly aware of potential risks and constantly emphasized the importance of defensive driving. Regardless of any mistakes I made, Bob created a supportive environment where I could learn from them without feeling discouraged and bad about myself. His ability to anticipate and manage any potential challenges instilled in me a strong sense of confidence behind the wheel and I could focus on truly learning. Moreover, Bob's extensive knowledge of the driving test requirements was invaluable. He provided comprehensive materials, including pictures and supplemental learning resources, which greatly enhanced my understanding of the concepts and techniques needed to pass the G2 test. It is evident that Bob genuinely cares about the success of his students and their ability to become safe and competent drivers. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Bob Karmakar as a driving instructor. His patience, encouragement, punctuality, and commitment to providing an exceptional learning experience are truly unparalleled.
