The learning process was very smooth and he taught me everything with all the tips and we went to different routes so I can make myself be familiarized to the road test. I had no idea how to drive and I never even sat behind the wheel prior, but he taught me everything. Even on my second lesson when he told me it was time to go on the road, I was hesitant as I had never been before. He knew I could do it and I trusted him and it went perfectly. He’s an amazing driving instructor and always makes you feel comfortable when you’re driving. I would 110% recommend him to anyone who’s wanting to take lessons! He always accommodated to me whether something came up and I had to reschedule, push back the time or changed locations. Expérience fantastique: I realized less than a month from my road test that I should take some lessons to remove my bad habits and ensure I was ready for the test. On very short notice, Asa moved some people around and was able to make time for me to take a few lessons. At first I didn't realize how much I had trouble with certain manoeuvres, but Asa helped me significantly with them. He provided very helpful tips and points of reference for better judgement. He made sure I was a little extra cautious about everything to ensure I could pass the test. Unfortunately, before my last lesson, Asa became sick and was unable to complete the last lesson, but because of all of his help in the previous ones, I passed my N test with only a single demerit. He was an excellent instructor for me. The only complaint I have was the car, but that is just a personal preference. It was a hybrid car that I was simply not used to driving, especially within the short period of time I was driving it. Overall I had a good experience and learned a lot from Asa. Expérience fantastique: Asa thoroughly goes through not just what’s in the road tests, but also driving with smoothness, safety and control. He teaches a methodical set of steps for each maneuver (like parallel parking) and mistake-correction that makes them quite straightforward. He also helped me get familiar with the common areas/routes for the road test. As an adult student I have had a learner’s for years but was always too nervous/scared to drive on a real street. Asa helped push me to drive on a real street for the first time. I took a total of 16 lessons and coupled them with practice sessions with my husband. You can also use the instructor’s car for your road test for an extra fee, which I did. For those who like music while they drive, Asa has a nice classical collection and classic rock collection. My personal favourites were the Scheherazade and Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances and New World Symphony. Thank you Asa for helping me pass my class 7 road test on the first try!

Expérience négative: Had the pleasure of driving behind one of their instructors who thought it was appropriate to play solitaire on their phone while driving(it was attached to their dashboard and could clearly tell it was solitaire. Not appropriate at all for a driving instructor, it's extremely unsafe not to mention illegal.

We practiced all the maneuvers that you need to know for the road test, and we drove in the areas that you drive through for the road test so I was familiar with the surroundings. Expérience fantastique: Thanks Asa! When I first got my L, Asa was there to teach me everything I needed to know. He was very professional, kind, considerate and patient. I had an absolute blast with him (and his great music), very easy to talk to! I did a couple lessons with him in 2018 and I was able to learn everything I needed very quickly. I credit that to his fantastic teaching skills. I wish I could have gotten a couple lessons in before my N test today, unfortunately I was to late and they were all booked, Asa is a very popular man! I recommend booking much in advance to get a spot. Even though I didn’t have a tune up lesson with him before my class 7, I used the technique and skills he taught me at the beginning and passed today on my first try with only 1 small demerit. My parents and I are very pleased and glad that I had Asa as a teacher. I will forever use these skills in my future life. His knowledge and expertise is a great tool to help you gain confidence and the necessary skills you need to be a strong driver. He has many tricks and techniques to help you succeed and lessons consist of all the manoeuvres you will be required to do on the road test as well as regular driving to help you gain confidence. Expérience fantastique: UPDATE: Another first-try pass on my way to my full license. Prior to my N, I had taken lessons with Asa (passed first try), and have recently passed my class 5 exam, also first try. I took two lessons with for this road test, one a few days prior, and one, one hour right before. He taught me very well to fix some minor mistakes and bad habits I had built over the span of my N license, and showed me some common routes examiners tend to take. I appreciated how methodical he was in explaining everything, was very clear in his instructions, and was accommodating to my schedule. The best part was coming away with not only my full license, but feeling like a confident, safe and smooth driver on the roads. ORIGINAL: Just passed my N road test with ICBC, mainly thanks to Asa's great help in preparing me and teaching me to be a good driver, following the rules of the road. Asa is an excellent teacher, and an excellent coach, a quality that seems to come naturally, and always is very patient and rigorous in his teaching. He teaches you everything required to pass the ICBC road test, making sure that there are no surprises when you do take it, but also teaches you how to be a great driver in the real world. Not only a great coach but a great person to drive with, and helped me get rid of my negative habits prior to my road test. Being a student, I also really enjoyed his pick up after school lesson system, where he would pick me up, I would do my driving lesson with him then I would drive my self home. I found this very convenient, and helped me stay focused during the lesson it self. His car is also very comfortable and user friendly, even for a tall guy like me, around 6 foot 5. I definitely recommend his driving school, I have no complaints what so ever, and am now a proud and confident driver on the road, with a bright green magnet on the back of my car.

I am very thankful for his patience, music, conversation, and overall teaching. He puts a lot on emphasis on the things needed to pass the road test and teaches everything with great detail. Asa is a really patient and calm instructor which made you stress free during lessons. He is also very knowledgeable and will bring you to the area where the test may take you to. Asa helped me to build confidence, taught me everything is needed for the test, made me ready in the shortest possible time and even canceled some of the lessons which I didn't need. IMHO the best instructor in the Tricity. By the way he is usually fully booked, so it is better to plan lessons with him in advance

Expérience fantastique: I am so beyond happy and grateful that I choose Asa and Burke Mountain Driving School. I'm a 37 year old woman who has had a debilitating fear of driving since I was a teenager. Being a mother of two with another baby on the way I finally decided to face my fears so I could give more to my kids. I signed up for lessons with Asa after reading the reviews and thanks to his patient and straight forward teaching approach, I passed my first road test (with hardly any demerits!) at 37 weeks pregnant! Asa acknowledged my fear and respected it but would not let it hold me back and very quickly pushed me out of my comfort zone. His teaching method is calm and relaxed while ensuring you always know what you're supposed to be doing and why. We also enjoyed good conversation and great music without detracting from the lessons! I felt fully prepared for my road test, as Asa took me to all of the same locations ICBC uses and so I knew what to expect which helped ease the nerves! Asa was always positive and honest with his feedback and I honestly don't know that I would have passed my road test so easily, with the limited amount of lessons I was able to squeeze in between working full time and being a mom, had it not been for Asa. I will gladly recommend him to anyone I know and am so thankful for his time and patience.

Expérience fantastique: I knew I needed lessons because I was so afraid to drive. It took me a long time to go through with it because of the cost, but when I finally had the money I decided to use it for this. Not only that, but I'm 33 years old and thinking about becoming a mother soon-ish, so driving is important to me, and much overdo. My boyfriend's coworker mentioned Burke Mountain Driving School, so I decided to look it up. I sent a message through the website, Asa got back to me and we booked our first appointment. At first I was thinking "oh god, what have I done?" because I was so afraid. I remember our first lessons and how horrible I was at just turning corners or performing any simple task. I didn't want to leave the parking lot, ever. I was embarrassed, but he was super supportive, patient and kind. He was constantly reminding me that it's okay and you're not going to be perfect the first time you try something. You just need practice. As time went on, I became a better driver and took advantage of him as much as I could. He thought maybe I didn't need as many lessons as I paid for, but I wanted to be sure I was ready and comfortable. He doesn't care about money and he never made me feel like I was not good enough. I can't get over how supportive and patient he was. To top it off, we had great conversations about life and he'd play music every lesson, asking what I'd like to hear that day. I decided to pay to use his car for the examination, which was definitely a great idea. It was nice to have him help with a warm up, take me to ICBC and wait for me to complete my test. I was so nervous I cried before going in! The best part though is that I passed, with almost flying colours! I cannot say enough good things about Asa. I would recommend him to anyone. I can't wait until my 2 years with the N is up so I can book a couple appointments with him again to warm me up for my Class 5. Amazing instructor, amazing human. Thank you so much Asa! But when he started feeling that i know all the driving skills now, he canceled my rest lessons to save my money. Very happy to choose ASA at first place.
