Expérience fantastique: J'ai contacté Alex pour des leçons de conduite, mais son emploi du temps était complet (ce qui parle beaucoup de lui), donc il m'a recommandé de prendre des leçons avec son collaborateur, Donald Fung. Donald est un instructeur aimable et assertif, patient, et parfaitement maître de la situation (les leçons et mon examen se sont déroulés dans ma voiture à transmission manuelle). Il sait comment vous mettre en confiance et apprendre dans le processus. Sans ses conseils, je n'aurais pas réussi mon examen de conduite du premier coup ! Je recommande vivement SenSen Driving School et Donald (c'est un excellent instructeur). N'hésitez pas à prendre des leçons avec eux avant votre examen - ça en vaut chaque minute ! Merci, Donald !

Expérience fantastique: J'avais mon permis d'un autre pays, donc j'avais besoin de repasser mon examen de conduite pour obtenir un permis de la Colombie-Britannique. J'étais conducteur, mais pas un conducteur de Colombie-Britannique. Tout seul, j'ai échoué à l'examen de conduite deux fois. C'est à ce moment-là que j'ai décidé d'engager Alex à l'école de conduite SenSen, il m'a été fortement recommandé par un ami. Il m'a lié à son calendrier et j'ai pu réserver les jours et heures qui me conviennent, des semaines à l'avance. C'était un professeur merveilleux. Très clair et calme, il était encourageant et patient avec moi. À chaque leçon, nous nous concentrions sur une ou deux choses spécifiques à apprendre. Il n'y avait jamais trop d'informations en même temps. Il enseigne les règles de la route et les connaît très bien. L'école de conduite SenSen m'a aidé à développer de bonnes compétences et habitudes de conduite légales. J'ai pris 7 leçons avec Alex, et quand il était temps de passer mon examen de conduite, j'ai réussi du premier coup ! Les leçons m'ont donné la confiance et la compréhension dont j'avais besoin pour être le meilleur conducteur possible ! Merci Alex. Je recommande fortement !

Expérience fantastique: J'ai passé mon examen de conduite de classe 5 à ICBC Point Grey, et Alex m'a fait parcourir les itinéraires qui étaient cruciaux pour mon test. Il était très clair dans ses instructions et ses commentaires. Il a répondu à toutes mes questions et a transmis des informations que j'ai utilisées. Certaines habitudes qui peuvent ne pas être appropriées pour l'examen de conduite ont été mises en évidence, et il a réitéré les points clés qui ont rendu mon examen de conduite réussi dès ma première tentative. La Colombie-Britannique est connue pour ses examens de conduite incroyablement difficiles, et réussir dès ma première tentative a également été rendu possible grâce aux conseils incroyables d'Alex.

Ses instructions étaient claires et il donnait des retours instantanés qui m'ont aidé à corriger mes mauvaises habitudes. De plus, en montrant tout de suite comment bien effectuer les manœuvres, j'ai appris à quel point j'étais loin et j'ai pu faire des corrections en conséquence. Même si j'apprenais lentement et oubliais souvent, il me rappelait avec patience et essayait différentes façons de m'enseigner. Enfin, je me sentais très effrayé au volant auparavant, il m'a appris à conduire en toute sécurité afin que je puisse prendre confiance et me sentir plus préparé pour l'examen. C'était ma deuxième tentative, et auparavant, j'avais utilisé un autre enseignant dans une école de conduite. En conséquence, je suis entré dans mes leçons avec quelques connaissances préalables, mais je peux dire avec beaucoup de certitude que si j'avais réservé des leçons avec Alex au lieu de l'autre instructeur, je n'aurais probablement pas eu besoin de deux tentatives. C'est le vrai deal ; pas grand-chose d'autre à dire. Il est très compétent et serviable, mais il ne complique pas non plus les choses. Il est également très disposé à répondre aux questions, même en dehors des cours.

Expérience négative: Qualités de l'instructeur : - Condescendant - Manque de patience - Impoli - M'a fait me sentir stupide - Zéro compréhension de la neurodivergence, ce qui se voyait dans sa méthode d'enseignement. - Pose des questions rhétoriques lorsque vous faites des erreurs, vous donnant l'impression d'être idiot. Si vous êtes neurotypique et que vous appréciez un instructeur qui enseigne comme un robot (tout en criant lorsque vous ne suivez pas exactement ses instructions, même si vous êtes un conducteur débutant), cela pourrait fonctionner pour vous, mais la combinaison de l'instructeur condescendant et impoli était un grand non. J'ai annulé tous mes cours réservés et maintenant je suis très heureux avec une autre école de conduite – avec un instructeur qui est patient, compréhensif et enseigne d'une manière qui convient aux personnes neurodivergentes.

Expérience fantastique: D'accord, Alex était complètement occupé quand j'ai d'abord contacté SenSen, mais il m'a donné les coordonnées de Donald et il est le MEILLEUR instructeur que vous puissiez avoir ! Il sait EXACTEMENT comment se déroule l'examen, donc il n'y a pas de surprises. Vous pratiquez tout ce qui sera sur le test, exactement comme cela se fait lors de l'examen. Expérience fantastique: Amazing! I went to SenSen because I had struggled with anxiety as a new driver and found it very difficult to even start learning. I had Alex Sham from SenSen as my instructor, and I found him very kind, caring, and thorough. He took the time to listen to my worries and explain things in as much detail as I wanted, including drawing very helpful diagrams. He also taught me careful and safe driving habits, and now I feel quite comfortable on the road. Definite recommendation - I will be sending any other friends that need to learn to drive his way.

I’ve gone through multiple instructors and they all fail to help me understand what to do clearly.I also tend to get uncomfortable very quickly and back out to ask questions, but Alex was so nice and friendly and was just so amazing at explaining what to do. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students which is such a big thing when taking a test because he made SURE I would pass. Expérience fantastique: I had a lot of anxiety about learning how to drive. I honestly didn’t believe in myself. I looked at all the people around me who could do it and felt totally at a loss. Why wasn’t everyone as terrified as me? Alex showed me the proper steps to safely navigate the road, and in time, I started to gain confidence. Every time I made a mistake he reminded me that it was a a normal part of learning how to drive. If I got scared or overwhelmed, he took control of the wheel (he has a 2 steering set up so can step in at any time) and this really helped to calm my fears of crashing into everything. Once you have enough experience driving (and by driving I mean driving with all the correct safety protocols like shoulder checks and everything) you start to get used to it and you can actively see that you’re driving better than lots of the people around you. The lessons are strict because ICBC has a very specific driving method that they want new drivers to follow. Some details are so specific that I personally believe that a new driver has no way of passing their test without working with a driving instructor who knows what ICBC is looking for. Alex really hammers in the most important details so that you can perform under pressure during your test. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT I PASSED ON MY FIRST TRY! It took me 20 years to gain the courage to do it, but only a few months working with Alex to actually get my N and now I’m driving by myself! I also got to have a couple lessons with Donald who is an ex ICBC examiner so he has a ton of really helpful tips for passing your test. Alex and his team are really awesome and I’m super grateful that I had him to help me through one of life’s milestones. I feel ready to take on new challenges in my life! Happy I went with SENSEN Driving School!

Expérience négative: I took lessons with Alex and it was such a negative experience that I switched to Young Drivers BC and had a way better time learning. Alex can be very condescending especially to young women. For beginners, you need to learn how to feel relaxed and in control in order to be confident on the road. Alex makes you the complete opposite - yelling multiple times, startling students while they are driving and making them question their own intelligence. BTW I graduated from an Ivy League so I'm definitely not stupid. At the end of our many lessons he straight up said to me that I'm incapable of learning. When you make a mistake, Alex doesn't take the time to explain. I used to think it was because he was impatient, but now I'm realizing that it is because he literally does not know how to explain the rules of the road - he is only good at telling you what to do. If you want to be a good driver, you need to understand why things are the way they are on the road. However, Alex will not teach you that. He is only laser focused on teaching you how to drive a very specific segment of the street, so if you try to drive outside of that area good luck. He is a very "mechanical" driver so if you want to learn how to drive like a robot geared up for the exam, maybe this is for you. But if you want to adopt an intuitive, smart, and confident driving skillset that is widely applicable to other situations, you better go to Young Drivers or somebody else. For instance, as a new driver, Alex makes you memorize a lot movements, so you find yourself going through the motions rather than understanding WHY you have to make those gestures. You end up focusing so much on not missing any move that you forget to pay attention to the conditions of the road, which is actually dangerous. For a new driver, there are a lot of things to pay attention to, but Alex forces you to drive exactly like he does, rather than help you learn to become an independent driver. He will drain your confidence and destroy your abilities to make good judgments. If you watch his YouTube videos you will see how he has a tendency to blame students for their mistakes in a very nonproductive manner. Teachers should be patient and encouraging instead of snapping at their students at every turn. Driving with Alex was one of the worst paid experiences I've ever had in Vancouver and I would never recommend. By the way, this driving school offers discounts for good reviews so that is most likely why there are so many five stars on google maps. I'd recommend maybe paying for just 1 lesson and not a whole package right off the bat to see for yourself. Honestly, he only cares about money so he has overbooked way too many students for their actual capacity which might explain his bad attitude.

Despite my slow learning at times, he was very patient and unwilling to give up on me, and I appreciate that a lot. Expérience fantastique: For 3 years, I was scared to step foot in the driver's seat because of a bad driving lesson in the States. That is until I moved to Vancouver, and started taking lessons with Donald. His professionalism, friendliness, and patience kept me at ease at every drive. Donald teaches driving fundamentals and offers practical tips to become a safe, efficient driver and not just pass the next driving test. I recently rented a car to run errands around town, and the driving anxiety was completely gone! 10/10 would recommend.

Expérience négative: The worst experience ever… I was mistakenly impressed by all these 5 star reviews&Youtube videos (whereas he seems to be nice and down to earth). I was very excited to start my driving lessons with Alex, confident I was in good hands. I didn’t expect that it would have turned out this way… The instructor is very rude, lacking patience and gets irritated easily. I was in a complete shock when he pulled over and asked me if I had any difficulties learning at school and also added “Have you ever taught anyone before? Do you realize that I am teaching someone who is not learning?” I got 98% out of 100% on my knowledge test at the first attempt and had difficulties putting my theoretical knowledge into practice. His communication in a derogative manner made me feel very uncomfortable and nervous. Not sure if it was personal or in general. It was terrible, just horrible. A person with such demeanor shouldn’t be teaching anything at all, let alone driving. I was paying for a service from an instructor who would guide and coach me but not belittle or bring me down and ruin my confidence. Glad I haven’t invested any more time and money into this. I checked reviews on Yelp and found a couple of comments from females who encountered similar experience a while ago. I didn’t even want to drive at all at first but only until I relocated to Victoria and found a great instructor here. The difference is night and day, heaven and hell. He is encouraging when I am doing the right thing and remains calm when I make a mistake, and he is helping me to rebuild my ruined confidence and become a safe and competent driver, I have made a lot of progress since then. Based on my experience I would not recommend this school and this instructor from hell especially if you are a female taking your first steps into practicing driving. I am sure he wouldn’t be talking to a male this way.

He is: • friendly • punctual • caring • professional I was fortunate to have found Alex -- he is the ONLY reason I was able to pass my road test. I had taken my ICBC Road Test once, but I failed and for many years since then, I have been in the perpetual cycle of re-acquiring my Class 7 Learner's Permit. I never really recovered from flunking my road test, but Alex assured me that we could make it happen. RESULT: I passed! He somehow managed to provide me with the confidence and competence to pass and get my "N" (Class 7) He is a miracle worker.
