Expérience négative: I signed up for two driving lessons a month in advance. The driving instructor never confirmed the lesson so I called a few days before to confirm with the academy. They were helpful. The instructor showed up outside my apartment building and didn't bother informing me or calling me to let me know that they were outside. After 10 minutes, I called them asking to let me know when they are outside and that's when they said they were parked at the back of the building. That was the first 20 minutes of the class. I wanted to ask specific questions about the different areas for the test but the driving instructor told me that it would be covered in the next class. The next class I was waiting outside but the instructor decided that we couldn't run through the questions I had because there was alot of traffic so it was a waste of $200. Do not recommend.

Expérience fantastique: My instructor was VJ for the in-class and in-car portion of the drivers academy. I was expecting very boring classes but my instructor made the classes very interesting and engaging. Same thing with the in-car lessons, the classes are very engaging and enjoyable. A great down-to-earth instructor, makes me enjoy learning about driving.

Expérience fantastique: My partner recently completed some drivers training with CTDA with Amit. From start to finish Amit was amazing, extremely thorough, and helped my partner get his G2 License in a matter of months. He helped him gain confidence on the road while also targeting the requirements for the test, and we plan on going back for lessons for the highway driving as well. We didn't go with any in class lessons, just strictly in car lessons. Amit is the best!

Expérience positive: I had 2 instructors for my G2 package, Michelle and VJ. They were both very helpful and patient. I especially liked Vijay style of teaching as it was quite effective. I did have some issues with the use of car package. My instructor recommended that I need additional lessons, which I booked and scheduled before my road test. However, I got a call from the academy that they are cancelling my use of car as I haven't taken the suggested lessons. When I explained to him that I have, he checked the records and agreed to it. I didn't appreciate the fact that I was called and told that they are cancelling my use of car without checking the facts and details. Overall, good experience; a bit expensive.

I received amazing and fun class lessons and my instructor VJ Mathura I cannot rave more about him!! He really is one of the best, he teaches you nice and simple tricks for making things super easy to understand and learn (I learned Parallel Parking in 4min!!) ONE OF THE BEST & You must get VJ as your instructor! Tami

He provided me with the right tools to help me not only to pass my exam, but to actually enjoy driving. I've had a fair number of instructors in the past and Vijay is by far most effective one I've ever come across in my experience. Learning to drive with him was fun but also educational, and at the end of every lesson I felt more comfortable getting behind the wheel.

Expérience fantastique: My whole experience with the Driver’s Academy at this location was great from in-class, to in-car lessons. My in-class instructor was Amit, and he made the class fun always wearing a smile. He was very friendly and seemed to really enjoy what he does. I credit my in-car instructor, Michelle, for my ability to pass my G2 road test on the first try. She was so relaxed and friendly during our in-car lessons. She never made me feel nervous or anxious, and any mistakes I made she corrected me in a very kind and humorous way. I always looked forward to driving with Michelle—it was almost like driving around with a friend! I’m honestly going to miss driving around with her. On the drive from the academy to the test centre, Michelle made sure to go over everything with me once, twice and a third time so that I was sure of what I was doing. I’d recommend the driver’s academy to anyone. Thank you Amit and especially Michelle!! :)

He's really driven and and passionate teacher for the art of driving, and a hysterical guy. i never left a driving session disappointed or uncomfortable behind the wheel. If you can choose driving instructors try and choose him!

Expérience fantastique: I had an incredibly amazing experience with CT Drivers Academy. I had taken in-car lessons before with another well-known Toronto institution and came out of it with zero practice knowledge or skills. A few years had passed and I figured it was time for me to try to learn again. My instructor was Amit Dass and not only did he make me feel comfortable driving, but he was kind, instructive, and an all around great person. I passed by G2 test on my first try and I am thrilled to recommend this to my friends and peers. My sister will be taking lessons with Amit as well in the near future through my recommendation, and I would recommend CT Drivers Academy and Amit to anyone else too! He was never late (oftentimes he was early!), we were always on schedule, had a variety of learning opportunities, and was flexible to focus on what I needed to practice with most. 10/10 experience!

Expérience fantastique: Just finished my 10th hour - had multiple instructors ( one left , one was hard to understand / poor schedule options) VJ was by FAR the best instructor I had. Gave me valuable pointers to make parking / general driving a breeze. He made highway driving and ability to maneuver lane changes and general traffic like a walk in the park. Learned more in 3 lessons with VJ then in the combined lessons with the other instructors. VJ made learning easy , comfortable and stress free ! Expérience fantastique: I've had an amazing experience being taught by both Suresh (in-class lessons) and Vijay (in-car lessons). Both are extremely patient and kind individuals and have a great amount of driving experience under their belt. Vijay was very helpful as an in-car instructor by giving tips on making parking so much easier, keeping you calmly alert at all times, and has a great sense of humour, which puts you at ease while driving. I would highly recommend both instructors to anyone looking into going for their G2 or G license.

Expérience positive: I really enjoyed my driving lessons with VJ (he's a really solid instructor) but the "theory" classes were not so great (unless you're 12 years old and like word-search puzzles and cheesy videos from the early 1980s).

Expérience négative: Canadian Tire driving school was a big waste of time, while taking the driving school lessons I went through 2 driving instructors and didn't have a very pleasant experience with either of them. Joel is a big no for anyone wondering about having him as an instructor. Had an funeral I had to attend and informed through the phone that I couldn't attend the lesson on that day, joel told me the day of the lesson that I missed it and was told to pay 50$ in 3 days or more charges would be added. This school is a big waste of time and fully regret taking lessons from here, please everyone reading go to Young Drivers!! Canadian tire doesn't necessarily teach you the proper ways to drive the car that would help maintain it in the future. I was told I failed the final test for Canadian tire driving school and was told by joel to book again, but you have to pay more for the insurance discount which sucks. But the next week after I failed Canadian Tires test I passed my G2, these people are absolutely awful and the in class lessons are outdated and everything about this "School" is awful. And if you can afford Young Drivers I highly suggest going to them!! Canadian tire needs better Driving instructors and not arrogant ones

Expérience fantastique: My in class instructor, Amit Dass, was knowledgeable on the road rules and kept the class engaged. We had two very straightforward tests that you really can't fail. My driving instructor was Peter Fisch. He was exceptional every single lesson and has a lot of experience driving in many areas. He helped me feel comfortable driving in the downtown core where traffic can be the worst. He gave tips to help me improve in areas I was lacking and overall was very helpful and a genuinely nice guy. Ask for Peter if you can get him as a driving instructor. I would highly recommend Canadian Tire Drivers Academy for anyone trying to learn how to drive.

Expérience fantastique: Canadian Tire drivers school is great! I had never driven a car before so I had lessons with Canadian Tire as I knew they would be a name I could trust. The in class instruction was very good. It was filled with videos, role playing and treats and candy as prizes after test and exams! My Canadian Tire instructors (Tony and Suresh) were the most patient and kind instructors I've had. They would never raise their voice at me, make me feel nervous or show any signs of irritation. Even when I almost crashed the car, my instructor Tony showed no sign of fear or anger. They always made me feel calm and secure. I got my G2 the first time and will be going back for practice when its time for my G. Totally worth the money!

He was very helpful and gave such good tips to help pass the test the first time, which I did! The driving test did not feel too stressful and felt easier than most of Joel’s lessons! He really does prepare you for the test and ensures you are comfortable and confident driving! Highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn how to drive the right way!

Expérience fantastique: I'm so glad that I chose Canadian Tire Drivers Academy for my driving school! I was hesitant to take driving lessons because I thought it would be me, a 30 year old who never got her driver's license, with a bunch of teenagers for the in-class sessions, but I was pleasantly surprised that it was a good range of ages and backgrounds, which made for a fun class. Doing the in-car lessons, I was super nervous about getting behind the wheel, but no more! My awesome driving instructor, Ashwani, helped me feel super comfortable driving a car for the first time and explained everything really clearly and with lots of patience. He helped me build my confidence behind the wheel and taught me lots of tips and tricks that I'll be using the rest of my life (like when UP hill parking, remember the wheels are like Superman: they go UP, UP and AWAY...from the curb). I've already told a few of my friends (other 30 year olds who never got their licences) that they should take lessons here, and now I'm telling the internet the same thing. Would highly recommend this driving school!

Expérience positive: SO I just finished my G1 exit test this past Thursday. I had started with Michael as my instructor who was quite wonderful. He put me at ease and really helped with my confidence. In the end, I signed up to do the two extra lessons before my test and to use the Canadian Tire car. This was the right decision for me. My instructor this time was Joel. He was great. He was up front and to the point and had a very fun, caustic whit about him. It was a humour that really resonated with me. But more importantly, he was so knowledgable about the testing and extremely thorough. In many ways, he reminded me of the pitcher that they send in at the end of a baseball game, to finish it up. So, all in all, my experience with Canadian Tire was great. If I had one criticism, I really did not like the lighting in the classrooms. I found it quite harsh. But, really, that's such a small thing. I highly recommend this course for sure.

He provided me with helpful tips and tricks for various driving maneuvers, and this gave me the confidence necessary to passing my test on the first try! I would recommend. If you get Ashwani as an instructor you are in good hands.

Expérience fantastique: I did my driving lessons with Ashwani and I can confidently say that he is an excellent instructor, very attentive and patient. He offers a wealth of experience and a lot of practical tips that will help you become a good driver quickly. I would happily recommend him to anyone learning to drive. I am also very happy with the school overall. The theory classes are a bit dry, but they run on time and offer a lot of useful content. The driving component is good, as well. The website makes it easy to schedule, reschedule, and cancel classes. The only challenge is that it is hard to book instructors for convenient times, so you might have to do some of your classes during work hours, which might not work for everyone.

Expérience négative: Do I have to leave any stars at all? My son was enrolled in the driving lessons, the in-class portion was great, the in-car lessons were a waste of time and money. The instructor kept cancelling lessons, ended up only having 5 lessons in 3 months. We asked for a new instructor a couple of months ago and our request was denied, we were told there would be improvements. There were no improvements. Now we're requesting a refund for the lessons, all of them, because what use were those 5 lessons when they were so far apart? You can't build on lessons/skills this way and now he'll have to start fresh again. Now we've been given 2 options: refund for 5 lessons or start fresh with a new instructor, but for only 5 lessons. Is this your way of getting us to purchase additional lessons with you? Just give us our $ back for the full 10 lessons and let my son be on his way. These people just take your $ and then don't deliver. There is no customer service and they don't care to do what's right for the customer.

Expérience fantastique: My experience with Canadian Tire's driving school was great and I encourage other novice drivers to try it out. To start off, the in-class sessions were informative. The class size was around 20 people and the ages ranged all the way from 16 to 40. As long as you pay attention during class, the tests should be fairly easy for you. The in-car sessions were also very enjoyable. I had Michael as my instructor and he was a pleasure to drive with. Not only was he very knowledgeable, but he also was fun to talk to and learn from. Michael also would show up early to the lessons (5-20 min), which allowed us to start early and thus finish earlier. The only thing I suggest as an improvement is I wished we hadn’t drove on the same roads/route (or very similar) every session. It would’ve been nice to get more experience in other areas of Toronto. However, as most drivers taking these courses are new, I can see why it is done this way. Overall I was very pleased with my experience with Canadian Tire's driving school!

Expérience fantastique: I would definitely recommend the CT Drivers Academy to others, especially my fantastic instructor, Suresh Oli. I'm in my 30s and although I got my license as a teen, I spent years being petrified of driving - and avoiding it. Finally I decided to get back in the car, but realized I'd need some in-car lessons with a professional if I was ever going to be confident behind the wheel. I've now had about 7 or 8 lessons with Suresh, and I can't thank him enough. He's been amazing, and believe it or not, I can actually drive down the crazy streets of Toronto confidently now. I seriously never thought I'd be able to say that. Suresh is patient, calm, friendly and has a very soothing manner about him - which is exactly what I needed to feel calm behind the wheel. He has taught me so much in such a short amount of time, and it's really been a life-changing experience for me. Beyond the actual in-car lessons, I'd also recommend the CT Drivers Academy because they have an awesome online platform for purchasing and booking all your lessons. I was surprised how few driving schools actually have an online booking system (seems like a no-brainer in this day and age), but it makes everything so much easier. I just go in and pick the date/time that works for me without the hassle of phone calls.

Expérience fantastique: Canadian Tire Driving Academy offers excellent value and driving instruction (in class and in car lessons) for G2 and G driving tests. The driving instructors are excellent, always onetime for lessons, accessible and accommodating of schedule changes for lessons and are highly knowledgeable on the content and structure of the road test. The price of the BDE course is competitive with other schools in the GTA. A CT driving academy instructor (Suresh) accompanied me on the day of my test. He was encouraging and informed on what the road test would consist of and took extra time to work on skills and parking manoeuvres that would be pertinent in the test, provided constructive critiques and honest feedback. Suresh's last minute tips and reminders were key to my success on the day and I would highly recommend new driving students to find lessons with him. Cannot recommend CT Driving academy highly enough: reliable, honest and hard working instructors.

Expérience fantastique: My Driver's Education package was well worth it. The class room component was informative, interesting, and interactive. Amit did an excellent job of facilitating the class. My road lessons were more enjoyable than they were nerve-wracking. Despite some nervousness, Toni did an excellent job of explaining the practical components of "real world" driving. His calm, reassuring, and respectful approach to teaching helped put me at ease- even if I made an embarrassing mistake. Toni was always punctual and flexible with scheduled lessons. He was also extremely helpful in preparing me for my Road Test. He is an outstanding instructor. One of the things I appreciated most about CTDA was the fact that the cars used were new (less than 2 years old) and in very good condition. I highly recommend the Beginner's Driver Education Value Package. It was well worth it.

Expérience négative: My daughter had an excellent instructor, Tessi with Canadian Tire Drivers Academy and then she was fired. It has been two months and all she gets are cancelled lessons. The next available lesson is December 28th. This is unacceptable when they keep cancelling. If anyone knows where Tessi is let me know ... we would dump Canadian Tire Drivers Academy to do lessons with Tessi again. So i am updating this in May and my daughter still hasn't been able to book all her lessons. Outrageous. The instructor who showed up today complained that the lesson was out of his territory. She is now waiting to do lesson 10 having gone through 3 instructors and not enough content to the driving lessons to do her drivers test. This is a shameful showing on part of Canadian Tire. How difficult is it to run a Drivers Academy when you are a big corporation

Expérience fantastique: This was a fantastic experience because of Ashwani Sharma - he was an exceptional instructor- patient and kind and it was largely due to his attention to detail that I passed in the first try . I would for Canadian tires drivers academy to extend the maintaineence clinic as I paid for the full course amount almost ! Fantastic experience overall ! Highly recommend Ashwani and Canadian tire !

Expérience fantastique: Can't recommend the Driver's Academy enough. The classroom lessons (taught by Amit) were informative and well taught, my in-car instructor (Michael) was helpful, patient and experienced, and the practice test leading up to my G2 road test was invaluable.

Expérience négative: Schedules were not flexible, did not have a good experience at all. In class lessons need to be revised; very long lessons on basic knowledge. Amit was a nice driving instructor but Joel was a big no. This driving school is very expensive, failed me on my last examination during a big snow storm and expected me to book and pay for another examination lesson. I took a few in-car lessons somewhere else and booked my G2 and passed on my first try. Go anywhere but here to save your money and time.

Expérience fantastique: My G1 was about to expire and finally decided to take the G2 test at last minute (couple of months left), so I contacted The Drivers Academy for some road hours. I thought it wasn't going to be so bad (although the last time I drove was 23 years ago). It was bad. I did not even remember where was the break. I was lucky I got Ashwani as my instructor. He helped me become more confident, was encouraging and kind. Now I have my G2 (I got it at the first try!). Thanks Ashwani!

Expérience fantastique: The in class lessons are nice, its a clean place, and close to many food places so on lunch break there is good food to eat. As well, i did the car lessons with Joel, and his lessons prepared me for the test. He was hard on me, but he knew what he was talking about and straight up told me what i was doing wrong every time and so i learned from the experiences. Because of all of this, i passed my G2 test first try!

Expérience fantastique: Joel was the best instructor you could ask for! I successfully passed my G2 on my first try. He was professional, observant, and made sure I was fully prepared before going into the test. There were a number of little things I wasn't aware of from only having my G1 and he kept reminding and teaching me over the course of my lessons. All in all, a really great guy, and a fantastic instructor. Thanks for all your help, Joel. Will definitely see you before I go for my G test!

Expérience fantastique: The last time I drove was many years ago in England. I wanted to get my road confidence back and took lessons with Toni at the Canadian tire school driving academy. He was an amazing instructor, really nice, and speaking as someone who teaches for a living, he was an exceptional teacher. I'll be back with him in the winter to get some snow driving lessons.

Expérience fantastique: My wife was really satisfied with Canadian Tire Driver academy . She was first afraid of driving as she was in accident as passenger in a car but her instructor was really patient a kind and took her on a gradient . He push her out of her comfort zone but seing that she could do it and as a month later she passed her driving test and is very thankful to her instructor Tony and recommend him to any new drivers who are nervous to get on the road he will get you through .

Expérience positive: Tassy was a patient and energetic teacher. She takes pride in teaching her students and is professional when doing so. Tassy emphasized the importance of being a confident and responsible driver and was always encoraging and positive. She exceeded my exceptions as a teacher and if you want to learn from the best you come see Tassy.

Expérience fantastique: Tassy is Greatest, she listens, respect, everyone she taught in car lesson. She is always on time . Tassy covers 80 % of lesson of what students need to cover in order for me to get it right . If you need someone to give you in car lesson refer Tassy to anyone. Thanks Tassy ;)

Expérience fantastique: I have had the honor having Tassy as my in-car driving instructor/teacher. Tassy is a very passionate instructor, have lots of patience and patient, high proficiency, lots of driving knowledge and best tip of the trade she shared along our driving. Every moment driving with Tassy was a pure pleasure and very unique. After the hours behind the wheel mentored by Tassy, I know that if Canadian drivers would adopt only 10% of what I've been taught by Tassy, Canada's roads could be safer and more pleasant to drive.

Expérience positive: In class portion could use some revising. A lot is geared to parent dependant students but a lot of mature students take this course in my experience. My in car lessons were with Toni. He is very experienced, encouraging, calm and patient. He helped me gain the skills and confidence I needed to pass my road test the first time and to drive on the roads of Toronto.

Expérience fantastique: Tassy was my instructor and of anyone I could have imagined having teach me, I am so grateful I had her. I had never driven a day in my life, and on the first lesson she already had me driving on the lakeshore. That may seem daunting, and it was, but Tassy was able to calm me down and allow me to drive with confidence. If I didn't understand something, we'd spent an entire lesson on it. If I consistently did something well, we moved onto the next thing. Not only is Tassy a great teacher, but a caring, passionate, and respectful woman. I highly recommend her, and the Canadian Tire Drivers Academy.
