Expérience fantastique: Emily is a good driving instructor that is patient and helpful, especially when I came to her and the school with little to no driving experience. Taught me a lot about driving especially the turns on the roads (eg. residential and main) and parking (eg. reverse). Also, shes good at correcting at driving errors in real time on top of being patient, which helped me a lot in learning how to drive. I got my G2 after my third attempt, as the two failed attempts were due the "road test anxiety" and the need of more time on the car (Emily suggested to take more lessons which I decided to do before finally getting the G2). If you want to learn how drive properly and thoroughly, then this school is for you.

Expérience négative: I was waiting to write my review till after my program had completed. I did pass my G2 test, and I considered if I should write and post this review quite a bit, so let the fact that I am choosing to leave this review, in spite of my success, speak to how much I want to warn people off. I took a total of 18hrs of lessons along with the online learning courses and I have to say Emily was very unprofessional. From the second you get in the car she tries to sell you more lessons and is extremely pushy about paying her right then and there. Nearing the end of my intitial program (10 hrs) she pushed me to sign up for 8 extra lessons and when I eventually agreed, she immediately asked if I could pay $400 cash right there. Several times she would even say “this isn’t about money. I don’t care about money. I have money.” and in the same breath talk about how I needed to take more lessons with her. She was regularly late for a one hr lesson. She would even end them early and a few times was running errands during the lessons. I distinctly remember one time she had me pick up and drop her sister off to grocery stores, under the guise of “giving me highway practice”. Another time she used lesson time to pull into a mall and grab food, easily 10-15 mins in a 1hr class. She would often change lesson timings on the day of, even 1 hour before. I remember the one and only time I raised the issue with her, she had kept me waiting 30mins with no intimation of her ETA or if the lesson would be extended, and when I got in the car she just started yelling at me about how I don’t understand and how she was at the CRA and I dont get her stress. I just tried to not cry and stay focused on the road. She made me sign my attendance sheet for lessons in advance, and would fill in an arbitrary time to meet the package requirements. Independent of this, she would also make passing sexist remarks about how “boys love cars so its easy to learn for them. Just like how girls are good in kitchen and cooking.” I dont know if she meant it as a joke or not, but it was so uncomfortable. She would also regularly badmouth other students to me, and no doubt spoke badly of me to other students. Her teaching style is also lacking. She will never actually tell you what to do, only tell you that what you’re doing is wrong. As a first time learner, I was very nervous, and she has little to no patience for any mistakes from Day 1. She takes calls in the middle of giving instructions, and eats her meals during lessons, and is generally not very involved or interested in the student. Maybe this is an experience specific to me, and her other students have not felt this. Perhaps she felt it was easier to take advantage of a younger girl’s time and money, but please take your business elsewhere to an instructor that actually cares that you learn, because Emily is in it for the money and will treat you like it.

Aileen and Emily are very knowledgeable and understanding of the safely and rules of the road. They are both very calm and professional towards you, especially when you are a new driver this is great, they give you confidence and guidance when you are driving. When you have questions about driving, they give tips and in-depth explanation to you so you know what to do. I did both my G2/G with them and I highly recommend this school to anyone.

Expérience fantastique: I reached out in 2022 for help with preparing for my G2 exam. At the time, I had no in-car driving experience and I experienced a lot of anxiety surrounding the road. I also had no access to a car to practice - so my only practice were my weekly lessons with Emily. I am blessed to have Emily as my first (and only!) instructor. She worked around my busy schedule and supported me with slow exposure of various driving techniques. She accommodated weekly lessons and ensured I learned the curriculum requirements in the limited time we had. Emily prepared me with defensive driving techniques. We worked around cancellations due to a variety of reasons, such as the extreme weather. Every lesson was a challenge, but Emily continuously gave me the encouragement to persevere. During our lessons, Emily was energetic and alert. She pointed out my mistakes before they became habits. Emily ensures that the defensive driving techniques become second nature - which I believe helped me pass my G2 exam on the first attempt despite the nerves. Emily led me through the journey from being an absolutely shaky beginner to a confident highway driver. Leading up to my G2 exam, Emily dedicated multiple lessons to test my skills. I had difficulty trusting my own abilities, but she saw through my anxiety and stayed firm that I was ready. When she says you’re ready - trust her! I got my G2 with flying colours. Emily has left me with a toolkit of defensive driving techniques, excellent driving habits, and plenty of confidence to navigate both urban and rural roads. While taking my 1st driving lesson with her, She did not asked before hand for cash payments only, just while ongoing driving she demanded only cash or pay taxes extra $6.5 on $50 hourly rate if paid online transfer, the way she handled situation while driving lesson ongoing was very impolite, unprofessional and disappointing. Do not recommend anyone to take lessons from Emily!

Expérience fantastique: As a beginner driver, I would strongly recommend taking the MTO-approved course offered by them because it is highly informative, and it gives you timely & relevant information that will come handy when you start driving. If you are Filipino, and prefers your in-car lessons to be delivered in Filipino/Tagalog language, that is something that they do offer here which I think is very beneficial if you are new to Canada. My instructor was Emily, and I really loved my experience with her. She really took the time to explain complex scenarios and even gave me tips to pass my road test and become a safe driver on the road. It was not an easy process given that I have zero driving experience, but with Emily’s help, I was able to overcome it. She really helped me build that confidence behind the wheel, and I was able to build a connection with her easily. You can have a knowledgeable instructor, but without interpersonal and great relationship-management skills, it will not work. In addition, she really went above and beyond when it comes to booking my road test and was able to get the appointment that I preferred and needed, so that was definitely a huge plus. Overall, I would highly recommend this driving school to a friend!

It was stressful and frustrating because of the closing then reopening ( and again) but we've persevered as much as possible with COVID-19. Ate Emily helped me gain confidence with driving over time. She's really honest which is what I liked about her. She will say what you have done right and wrong. That's a great feedback to have so you know what to improve on. She gives me 2-3 attempts to try again on what I've done wrong and how to correct it. I was actually recommended by my father. She's the instructor of our whole family .
