Expérience fantastique: Ronald était le meilleur enseignant que j'ai eu dans ma vie, il était très flexible et avait différents styles d'enseignement. Il était très bon pour expliquer les règles et les choses que je devais faire si bien que je n'avais pas besoin d'images ou d'autre aide, et quand j'avais besoin d'autre aide, il avait des images et un livret pour me montrer comment les choses étaient faites d'une perspective différente. J'avais réservé mon g2 avec environ un mois de ses cours et j'ai réussi à passer très confortablement. Si vous avez des problèmes de confiance ou d'anxiété en conduisant, je le recommande vivement, bien que peut-être il vaudrait mieux le faire plus tôt qu'un mois avant votre examen comme je l'ai fait.

J'ai vraiment apprécié le style d'enseignement de Ronald : il était très patient, utile et clair, et ne m'a jamais mis dans une situation inconfortable. J'ai également eu le plaisir de travailler avec Carlos, qui s'est assuré que j'étais prêt et calme le jour de mon examen G2. En plus de réussir l'examen du premier coup, mon expérience à l'auto-école m'a rendu beaucoup plus à l'aise au volant, je le recommande vivement !

Expérience négative: Cela fait un moment que j'ai eu mes 2 leçons (au début de 2022), mais j'étais curieux de voir si cette école était toujours en activité et je suis absolument stupéfait qu'il y ait de bonnes critiques, donc j'ai décidé que je devais faire ma part. J'ai oublié exactement qui était mon instructeur, mais il m'a fait le rencontrer à l'extérieur d'une station de métro par -20 degrés. Il était en retard. Je lui ai dit exactement avec quoi j'avais besoin d'aide (stationnement en épi et parallèle), mais au lieu de cela, il m'a fait tourner en rond pendant une heure. Ensuite, il m'a fait le déposer chez lui pour qu'il puisse utiliser les toilettes et m'a fait marcher jusqu'au métro par ce froid glacial. Je ne sais pas ce qui m'a fait prendre une deuxième leçon, mais je l'ai fait. La même chose s'est produite. Depuis, j'ai déménagé en Colombie-Britannique et j'ai enfin obtenu mon permis avec l'aide d'un instructeur incroyable, qui était extrêmement compréhensif, m'a pris et m'a remis chez moi, et m'a même aidé à utiliser ma propre voiture avant ma leçon. Les gars de l'Académie des apprenants écrivent sur leur site web qu'ils 'ne sont pas un service de taxi', mais il est complètement normal de déposer et de prendre un étudiant chez lui, surtout quand on paie un bon prix pour une leçon. C'est extrêmement décevant de voir que cette école est toujours là.

Il a toujours été accommodant pour faire des leçons de 2 heures chaque jour pendant 4 jours avant mon examen de G. J'ai travaillé avec Ronald et Carlos, qui ont des styles très différents mais dont j'ai beaucoup appris tous les deux. Ronald a porté un regard critique sur ma technique et mes habitudes de conduite, et a travaillé avec moi intensivement pour identifier et décomposer certaines mauvaises habitudes et les remplacer par de nouvelles, plus sûres. Ensuite, Carlos m'a donné quelques conseils et astuces finals, et m'a aidé à atteindre un calme mental pendant que je conduisais, ce qui a fait une énorme différence compte tenu de mon anxiété lors de ces tests. Je n'arrive pas à croire que je suis enfin un conducteur entièrement licencié après des années de lutte avec cela, et je dois vraiment créditer Ronald et Carlos de m'avoir aidé à y parvenir et de m'avoir aidé à devenir un conducteurs beaucoup meilleur et plus sûr.

Expérience fantastique: I PASSED my G-2 with an almost perfect score!!!!! Story time: I came to Ronald extremely fearful and anxious about driving. I definitely had a driving phobia. It was bad. I would shake uncontrollably behind the wheel, cry, panic and freeze up in the middle of intersections. Some days I truly thought it was impossible of reaching the dream of having my license and buying a car. I truly believed I would never conquer my fears. But I was determined to try!!!! So if this sounds like you- take it from me, a 30 year old woman who never thought she could do it. I just did it!!!!!! Ronald was patient and worked with me for almost a year of lessons. Some days I wanted to give up if I made a mistake but I stayed consistent, pushed through it and kept investing in myself. I never imagined I would pass my G-2 on my first attempt - seriously! I did not think I would pass it….but I did it. Thanks to Ronald’s amazing teaching. **for those who have read reviews about the teachers at learners drivers academy getting upset- please remember that when they are in the car with you they are sometimes teaching you lessons that could mean the difference between life or death. They take it seriously so yes- a little frustration can occur but operating a car is a serious matter! So don’t let that stop you from booking lessons with them!!! He teaches EVERYTHING you might want to know and will definitely recommend to anyone whos not only looking to get their license, but really learn how to drive on the road.

I had taken driving lessons before, but Ronald helped improve my skills so much, explained everything perfectly and in a way that made sense to me. He had me talk through my actions so I understood what and why I was doing everything. He was incredibly patient and understanding, as well. I felt more confident in my driving on a whole and he taught me skills that are not only important for the test, but for as long as I'm on the road. Expérience négative: Let me start off by saying that a school that has a no-refund policy, is a serious red flag! Avoid this school at all costs! First driving lesson consisted of a lot of talk, which started with Albert farting in the car, then denying it. It later turned into me filling the tires with air, and wasting more time doing nothing. I was naive, and wanted to give them a second chance, so I did a second lesson. That consisted of more wasted time, by picking up and dropping his mother off from groceries. Completely unprofessional! Avoid this school at all costs!

Expérience négative: I finally passed my G2 but did not do it through this school. Actually, I was traumatized from driving because of this place and avoided driving for a long time. My driving instructor was Albert and he would just straight up yell and swear at my face. I remember having my first full blown panic attack while I was driving, I couldn’t speak and he was still yelling at me. If you’re a nervous first time driver, avoid this place at all costs!! Also, I remember calling in the first time to inquire and they just pressured and pushed me into paying since they were starting class in a few days. Just felt scummy overall.

Expérience négative: I took lessons with Albert a few years ago. Learning academy did teach me the basics of driving and they cemented the rules of the road in my head. However, I found them to be lacking in professionalism. Albert would often show up late for our lessons. He would also have me drive him to his home, the grocery store and other errands in the middle of our lessons. I probably spent a total of about an hour waiting for him on time that I paid for. Alberts demeanor during lessons was atrocious. He would regularly tell me stories about crashes he had witnessed, people he had seen die and how dangerous driving was in general while I was behind the wheel. It didn't really inspire confidence in me as a new driver. Driving in rush hour is hard enough. It's next to impossible with a 300 lb man screaming in your ear and slapping your hands off the steering wheel when you make a mistake. I didn't get comfortable driving until I started practicing with a friend about a year later. I now hold my G License and am a safe and confident driver. But it took me a long time to unlearn all the anxieties Albert had instilled in me. Learning academy's lessons are much cheaper than formal driving lessons, but I really wish I had paid to go somewhere else. Do yourself a favour and avoid this shoddy business.

He will make you a great defensive driver. Ronald is extremely detail orientated and every lesson is packed with knowledge. Expérience négative: I had a good experience with Albert but midway through my lessons Ronald became my instructor. During my last lesson, my driving was unfortunately bad enough that Ronald lost his patience, yelled at me and grabbed my leg to push the gas in what was already a very stressful situation. I felt very uncomfortable being touched and yelled at by someone who is supposed to help me. I paid for 10 hours but did not feel comfortable finishing the last hour and a half. I’ll be looking elsewhere if I decide to take lessons in the future again.

Confidence is key for the driving test and he explains things really well and in a calm manner. Expérience fantastique: I came to this school based off of recommendations from other anxious drivers and I am so glad I did. Ronald at Learner's Academy Driving School is an excellent instructor. Friendly and patient but also rigorous in a good way to keep you honest with yourself. He is also highly knowledgeable, and uses a lot of different teaching tools and tactics to help you understand the material. I had never driven before and Ronald was very good with answering all my questions as they came up. Passed my G2 test on my first try and I actually felt very calm and confident as I was doing it thanks to the guidance and technique I was taught. My partner has commented multiple times on the improvement he sees in my driving after doing lessons and he has even implemented some of the tips I learned from Ronald into his own driving.

Expérience fantastique: I spent 17 years avoiding the driver's seat and then suddenly had an ambitious goal. Get my G2 within 42 days before I had to get my G1 for the 4th time. I was always too anxious and scared to drive and my parents refused to be in the vehicle to let me or any of my siblings learn or practice. Ronald is a fantastic instructor and I loved the focus on defensive driving which you find yourself using instantly once you stop over thinking about your hands and feet. 42 days from my first driving lesson to my G2 test is not a lot of time when you're not driving every day and although my goal was ambitious, Ronald was the one to push me to keep my test because I did waver and want to give up. I even cried during one of our lessons because I was so frustrated with myself (not with the instructor) and he didn't make it weird but assured me that students cry more often than you would think. The prices are incredibly reasonable if you compare them to other driving schools too as I personally wanted more than 10 hours of in car lessons. I also enjoy that they offer 2 hour lessons instead of other driving schools doing 45 mins-1 hour. 2 hours is a great time to get comfortable and flies by so quickly as I did feel that 1 hour felt too short when I did do a shorter lesson. I look forward to more lessons with Ronald to help get my full G!

I came in with some experience: a few hours driving with angry parents and 10 hours with another school's instructor who never looked up from his phone during lessons, so I was incredibly stressed about driving. Ronald was extremely patient with me and taught me quite honestly everything I know now. Expérience fantastique: I guess you could say I got lucky: I found Learners doing a Google search and read the reviews (hoping they were all legit) and took the plunge. Driving-wise, I am a city dweller (with no car), driving experience in country where we drive on the other side of the road, who had a G1 mostly for ID purposes. When that expired during the pandemic, I decided that it was time to go all the way. Ronald is an exceptional instructor. He is patient and practical. He is exceedingly up to date with the rules of the road, insider knowledge and I appreciate that his teaching style is both verbal as well as visual (diagrams, model cars and videos). He also has nerves of steel. I overheard someone trying to negotiate the price of the lessons and I'll say this: you could probably find someone cheaper but I doubt you'd get the level of expertise, friendliness and professionalism that you will get from Learners. Worth every penny...and I passed my G2 on the first try. Thanks again and see you for my G!

Expérience négative: My son took a couple of lessons here at the Learners Academy Driving School with Albert a couple of months ago. The lessons were okay at first but they quickly went downhill. Albert would constantly raise his voice at him, telling him that he needs to pay attention more while angrily pointing at the mirrors. He would also smack, literally hit his hands off the wheel sometimes while he drove, telling him to let go of the wheel. He also kept saying that he would fail the test over and over again, and would take the wheel from him forcibly when he wasn't making the turns as quickly because he was nervous which was expected. He'd belittle him, saying that he kept making mistakes and that he "was just taught this so he should know better". Albert would often forget what happened in their previous lessons, asking my son to "refresh" him on what was happening. Overall, a lack of professionalism, lots of aggression which made my son much more nervous behind the wheel, and a lot of impatience. I will not be recommending this school to anyone because of his poor experience.

I spoke with Albert who, although my test was very close, went out of his way to accommodate me in getting enough lessons in preparation for my test. His help didn't seemed strained or "money hungry" either. Albert put me on to Carlos. Carlos! What can I say? He was amazing! He pointed out road safety tips that you tend to forget after driving for many years. He was meticulous and genuinely invested in me passing. He was very patient and professional.
