Fantastic experience: I used shiny side up for both my motorcycle skills test and road test. I'm glad I did, because Roy's expertise really helped me out. These lessons taught me a lot that not only helped me to pass both my MST and road test, it also made me feel safer on the road.

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of taking two lessons with Roy after feeling like I needed additional training following a course closer to home. Roy’s approach to teaching was nothing short of outstanding. From the very beginning, it was clear that he is deeply passionate about motorcycles and riding, and this passion shines through in his teaching style. He is incredibly patient and understanding, always taking the time to ensure I fully grasped each concept and skill. What stood out most was Roy’s knowledge and ability to adapt to my limitations. Fantastic experience: Roy was great, he focused on whats important to keep you safe as a new rider. Reinforcing best practices....again and again and again. That persistence is what cleans up bad habits. I used his services for both the MST (skills test) and later on for the road test. In both he sets me up for success. I passed both first time as a new rider I was very happy. I would recommend Roy and Shiny Side Up.

He was a calm and patient instructor through out the whole program I took with him before doing the MST test and with his help I passed the MST first go. Fantastic experience: In October, 2023 I failed my road test miserably in Kelowna where I live. When I was staying in North Vancouver, November 2023 I was able to get a new road test date. I booked with Roy from Sunny Side Up two days before the ICBC test. What I learned from Roy and the calm nature he had I would have never passed the road test. It was raining terribly but Roy kept giving me the confidence to carry on. He taught me skills that I didn't even learn when I took the school in Kelowna. I took my ICBC test two days later and passed with only two very small demerits! I did so well, my examiner told me to go back to ICBC after just under 20 minutes in, as he didn't need to see anymore of my riding skills! Booking with Sunny Side Up is worth every penny! I recommend him 100%. Thank you Roy!

Fantastic experience: I have had beautiful and a fantastic experience with Roy at the Shiny Side Up Motorcycle Training. Even though i am an experienced rider from a different country, Roy understood my riding style and helped me alter my riding style as per the Canadian Standards and Rules and Regulations. Roy is a really good teacher, his teaching style and is adaptability to teach different riders with different style is just mind blowing because during his sessions he is very detailed about it, he is highly knowledgeable in all kinds of bikes.

Not only is he a good instructor but he is also a great friend. He is thorough in his teaching and he was in my ears every turn I made during my exam. He not only completely assured me of how to pass the ICBC road test, he ensured that I began driving with an attention to detail and an accuracy that excels the expectations of the ICBC road test. Fantastic experience: I've had a wonderful experience with Roy at Shiny Side Up Motorcycle Training. As a beginner rider one lacks confidence, especially on the busy roads. Roy is excellent at providing guidance and critiquing you so that you will stay safe, while enjoying riding. With his riding knowledge and expertise he will help you gain confidence rather quickly. Fantastic experience: I came from India with many years riding experience but nothing in Canada. When I met Roy he was very quick to notice what I was doing wrong that would fail my test. I felt that he did more than get me through my test first time, he gave me many road skills that will help me stay safe and enjoy my riding. He also helped me in finding a Moterbike for my test and he was also very helpful after the lessons with general tips on bike maintenance and how to store my bike in the winter. Having him teach me certainly got me through my test and he really cared about my success and the person who come in contact with him. Thank you to him

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Roy enough! This man is dedicated, and just generally an amazing person. In the days leading up to my test I was feeling pretty uneasy about riding in general, my confidence and abilities were subpar and everything I could think of needed some kind of improvement. When Roy came along, he brought loads of dedication, understanding and patience. He spoke to me in a language I could easily understand on the go and made it simple to learn rather than over complicate things with lots of details. I cannot describe how much help he was to me and I passed my test with ease thanks to him, and I know for sure I would not have been ready if I had not taken lessons with The Shiny Side Up and Roy. I really have never had a teacher that truly cared about me and the outcome, and I can't thank him enough for the amazing help he's been.

Fantastic experience: Contacting Roy was the best decision I made. A week before my test I was still nervous riding solo on the road, so I reached out to Roy. He truly went above and beyond to help me succeed. Not only did he fit me in on his day off, he lent me rain gear for the week and provided numerous resources outside of our sessions. Roy is so thorough in his sessions that it was as if he was in my ear during the test , which resulted in passing with a perfect score.
