Lambton Driving Academy: Reviews
Fantastic experience: My daughter had a great experience with Lambton driving academy. She enjoyed all the hands on learning she received during the in class portion of the program. Her driving instructor Sherry was wonderful, and gave her the confidence she needed to succeed in driving, and obtaining her G2. Sherry was always in touch with her about driving lessons, and made up dates quickly when a lesson was rescheduled due to weather or scheduling conflicts. She truly is a wonderful teacher and we can’t say enough good things about her. Our overall experience with this driving school was wonderful !!!
Fantastic experience: Lambton Driving Academy is hands down the best driving school! Their website is clear and well-structured, and the professionalism they showed was impressive. I had the pleasure of learning from the excellent instructor, Erwin Pavliscak, whose guidance and patience were exceptional. Thanks to their top-notch training, I aced my G license exam on the first try! I highly recommend Lambton Driving Academy to everyone. Thank you for everything!
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Lambton Driving Academy. My son’s driving instructor was Jamie and he was great! My son felt very comfortable. Jamie provided a lot of feedback and really boosted his confidence. I felt communication was open and my emails / questions were always answered quickly. Highly recommend
Hi Jody, thanks for the review
Positive experience: April 1, 2022 My son's experience with the second instructor has significantly improved from the first in car instructor he had. I realize that if students and parents don't communicate issues with an instructor, it will be difficult to address issues. I believe there are one or two more sessions required to complete his program, it sure has been a long ride. Most of the delays were completely out of any of our control. I will say that I can now confidently recommend Lambton Driving Academy to anyone who is interested. Our overall experience wasn't perfect, but you have stepped up as you were able to address issues. Therefore, the 4 out of 5 stars. --- To date, our experience with Lambton Driving Academy has not been great. The "in class" portion was done online due to Covid. Our issues are not with this. The instructor that is assigned to my son does not communicate well. He is also not very engaging. We are far less than pleased with the progress so far. I am hopeful that we can sort these issues out with a different instructor assigned to my son. The response to this review as well as the email being sent shortly will determine whether I give more stars at completion of the course. I have more children that will need drivers ed. At this point, we won't be choosing Lambton Driving Academy. Let's get this resolved and put your school back in the running. Reponse: Thank you for taking the time to respond to my comments. I have adjusted my rating. I hope to be able to end on a good note with a higher rating yet. All the best to the first instructor, Covid has certainly made some things difficult and those difficulties only seem to be increasing.
Hi John, as I explained to your son today, our instructor took a job during the months that we were closed by the government. He had committed several weeks in advance to working at this other job when we began working again. Therefore, he was working two jobs for some time. Yes, I know his communication slipped during that time and I want to apologize on his behalf.
COVID has been difficult for all of us and the instructor was just trying to make a living instead of collecting the government allowances. I was aware of the situation, but he has been a good instructor for over 3 years and wanted to give him the opportunity to complete his commitments to the other job.
I have assigned your son to another instructor as requested.
Again, I apologize for the communication issues.
Fantastic experience: I had a pleasant experience here. After failing my G2 drive test twice with classes from a different driving school it became impossible for me to pass my G2 drive test. With just 5 drive classes (10hours) at Lambton driving academy and a very patient instructor I was able to regain my confidence back and I passed my drive test. Sean was very patient and understanding. He prepared me not just for the road test but to be a good driver in Canada. He took me to the 402 even though it’s not part of the G2 test and answered all my questions whenever I had any. I would recommend Lambton driving academy coming from someone who has used a different driving school.
Thank you for the review Rachel
Fantastic experience: Fantastic program and great instructors.
Thanks for the kind words.
Negative experience: My experience with my instructor was nothing extraordinary as the bulk of the rules of the road were told to me after a mistake was made and never how to prevent a mistake. Unfortunately this was a constant occurrence. Some of my lessons were during my lunch break while I was at school and on occasion my instructor would not show up and would message me later in the day that they were busy with other students. I would also like to note that on other occasions, I was asked to start my lesson hours early, and when I would explained my situation, a reply message would be sent to me after my lesson should have ended. I would also like to address the constant harassment I would receive after I completed my ten lessons (which seem to take forever when they book you for one lesson every week) to pay a late fee which I gave more than 24 hr notice for. Even though the in class experience (simulator) was decent, I would like to stress to anyone whom is looking to make a decision on driving schools that the in class is not what you are paying for. Overall, this post is not a recommendation for anyone choosing a driving school, but my experience with the school. I would also like to add that I passed my G2 test on my first try, but was thanks to practice with my father, not the driving school.
I have reviewed all the conversations as the instructor has kept them on their cell phone. First, I want to say that yes, your father did a great job teaching you to drive. We have spoken to him a few times and he seems to be a great person. We could have been more of an influence on you driving if you had not waited 5 months after completing class to compete the MTO required HomeLink. If you would have done like most students and began your lessons shortly after class, I'm sure your experience would have been different. As I reviewed the text/email messages between yourself and the instructor, I only noticed that you canceled 3 lessons without providing the required 24 hours notice. 2 due to basketball practice and one where you stated you walked by the instructor’s car at your school and thought they were there for someone else. The one lesson the instructor asked you to move forward due to a problem with one of our cars and we were attempting to satisfy everyone. You stated that you would only move ahead an hour if the instructor could do a 2-hour lessons instead of 1 as you were in a hurry to get your G2 as you waited 5 months to complete the MTO HomeLink. Unfortunately, they could not as they were trying to get as many student’s lessons in as possible. I have all the conversation if you would like to review them with us. As for your claim of harassment, we contacted you once to attempt to collect the fees for you missing lessons and contacted your mother once. This is what I assume prompted you to write this review as you had completed your lessons in December and only wrote this review after we asked for payment of fees from your mother about a week ago. I understand you are upset we told your mother you had fees owing for missed lessons, but as stated on our registration form, plus an additional form students sign in class, we must charge fees when we do not have 24 hours notice for cancelling lessons. Instructors only get paid when they do a lesson therefore, it’s not fair to instructors who rely on all students showing up as they have responsibilities like feeding their families and rent/mortgage.
Fantastic experience: Definitely made the right choice with this driving school. Wonderful and kind instructors with so much knowledge to share. I learned a lot in the in class instructions that many of my peers didnt learn at other driving schools in our area. The simulator was fun and realistic when it came to actual practice. Absolutely reccomend.
Thanks for the review Aislinn.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved my experience. From the in class content that covers everything you need to know to not only just pass your test, but to be a better driver, and eco friendly driver and actually give you good tips on owning a car. The simulation is honestly one of the best components of the course as it really helps with real world scenarios, like a tire blow out, snow, rain, pedestrians who don't wait for the light to change before crossing and more. As for the time in the car, they'll even take you on the 402 to get you acquainted with it, even though it isn't a part of the g2 road test, and they do it just to give you a brief on how to be a better driver on the 402 without any hesitation and help you when you're tested for your full g as they take you on the 402. 10/10 would recommend it to everyone. Absolutely worth it.
Thanks for the review Sherwin and congratulations on getting that G2!
Fantastic experience: My daughter loved the in class with their simulator and games. In car teacher was great and she passed on first try. highly recommend
