Omni Lateral Driver Education Centre Inc: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I had Susi as an instructor and she was wonderful! Made me feel very welcome and comfortable and made safety a top priority, I learned so much from her and improved greatly over our time together, glad she could put up with me lol
Negative experience: online portion of driver’s ed is buggy and confusing, having to contact support just to complete the course because of a bug that HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. driver didn’t even show up for my first lesson but after that the lessons were chill, driver scott was nice
Fantastic experience: I had to requalify for my G licence at 80 years of age after my first ever accident. I wasn’t successful in passing the road test until I had a couple of lessons with Keith (my daughter’s suggestion as she had enjoyed her beginner driver education course with Omni-Lateral). Keith suggested my daughter observe in the back seat so she could help me practice what he showed us; this helped a lot as well as saved money. Keith is such a good teacher, very kind and patient, and he makes learning fun. And I passed my road test! My granddaughter also took a lesson to prepare for her road test and was successful too. I highly recommend this driving school!
Fantastic experience: When it was time to find driver’s education for our son we kept hearing the same name over and over again, Omni Lateral. The staff and instructors were beyond accommodating. Our son was able to do the online potion of the course at his own pace and the one on one in car sessions taught him how to drive with confidence! Our son was able to pass his drivers test on the first try with flying colours! Can’t recommend Omni Lateral enough!!
Fantastic experience: I would like to recommend Omni Driving School in Arnprior, Ontario.Recently I took a two hour lesson from Keith and learned safer driving skills and gained confidence as well. Keith was a very good instructor - giving useful tips and advice in a respectful manner. As a result , today I passed my road test with ease. Thanks to Keith and Barb at Omni
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this driving school! Kieth was wonderful to deal with and our daughter’s driving instructor Daryl was fabulous. The confidence our daughter gained even from the first lesson was impressive! A big thank you to both Keith and Darryl!
Fantastic experience: STRESSED SENIOR looking at being tested after 60 years of driving. Keith was awesome. A two hourlesson on the renfrew test course was all i needed. He gave me a mock exam, showed me where tricky spots were (merging on and off highway, school zones, etc.. i failed the mock. I was speeding, poor shoulder checks and poor intersection manners. I went over the same course several more times with my wife and his corrections highlighted. TRIED THE MOCK it a second time— A PASS. With his confidence tips, i tried the real exam a week later. A PASS, real this time. I had few errors and not nervous at all. Thank you Keith, OmniLateral, Robin Hetherington
Fantastic experience: I got great drive lessons with Keith before my G2 drive test. In the first minutes I realized that he is a true professional, I’m not scared, I CAN trust him and can ask any question about driving no matter how stupid it is. I’m happy that I found him on google, so I’m leaving here my review for other people looking for highly qualified help to improve their driving skills.
Negative experience: Very unprofessional and my daughter was threatened with a baseball bat (it was in the car) if she made any mistakes. It took us 3 months to get a certificate for insurance.
Negative experience: I’d give them 0 stars if I could. I’ve just found out this school has less than a 45% success rate for new drivers passing their road tests. I’m questioning absolutely everything about this organization. My son picked this company because it was advertised through the high school. He has finally finished the final in-car portions of the training but now it has been more than 3 weeks without the certificate needed for a discount on his insurance. It’s been just over 3 weeks without an answer or even a response from them. I also question the legality of the vehicle and professionalism of the instructor (whom I’m not even sure is properly licenced). I did not like hearing that the instructor used an accelerator on the passenger side to speed the vehicle up, past the speed limit on Hwy 7 and through the corners on Tatlock road. I will be pursuing a refund at least if I don’t hear from them soon and I will report everything to the licensing bureau and the OPP should I not be satisfied with their response.
Fantastic experience: Amazing instruction for young drivers. The one on one time spent with Keith is worth more than 10 hours with a nervous parent. Drivers are made to feel calm and capable with very really world information.
Negative experience: I cannot express in words how unacceptably unprofessional this organization is. At the time we signed our son up for his training, "online" was the only option. Because of a learning processing disorder (not one that prevents anyone from actually learning, but affects methodology of learning) we eventually found that our son was unable to progress in an online format. As in-class opportunities had opened up again, we provided Omni-Lateral with our son's diagnosis, and requested that he be moved to an in-class session in order to help assure success. They flat out REFUSED. Let me repeat that: they refused to accommodate a formally-diagnosed learning disability. They then began threats that he had to have the entire course/program complete within the prescribed 12 months, or lose out. We are now EXACTLY one week from the expiration of his 12 month program, and we have barely been able to get him through the online courses without extensive amounts of torturous work. They REFUSE to extend the deadline. How does an organization that is licensed by the Government of Ontario FAIL to provide appropriate (and very simple) accommodation, which then puts the student at risk of failing? Because of the Provincial Licensing element, I will likely be forced to open a case with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal for resolution, as this is both unethical and illegal.
Fantastic experience: My lesson with Keith way great. He helped me fix my habits before my road test and knew exactly what would be on my test. Would highly recommend.
Negative experience: This is a completely unprofessional business. I was reassured from Day 1 that the in car portion of the lesion would not be delayed (as I had read there was long waits). I have now been trying to book the in car since February 1 with constant contact to the point that I’ve now requested a complete refund. Still no reply! I completely regret using this business and I’ve never seen anything run so poorly.
Fantastic experience: Been using them since high school Julie is absolutely amazing super supportive very understanding amazing company to overcome your driver anxiety
Negative experience: Despite several phone conversations and messages Steve will not follow through on his commitment to book lessons for my Sr father. I have been trying for two weeks.
