Negative experience: Horrible driving school. My instructor was rude and extremely unhelpful. Every time I asked for help, I was met with criticism, which only made me more nervous about driving. I ended up almost crashes during a lesson because I didn’t know how to turn left properly, and instead of being supportive, the instructor told me to stop asking ‘stupid questions.’ I was already scared and just trying to learn, but this experience only made me more anxious. I would not recommend this school to anyone

Negative experience: Ian was my driving instructor back in 2015. While the in-class lessons went well, there were times when Ian was rude and overly familiar. He criticized my parents' driving abilities and vehicles. He also liked to joke about not getting distracted by hot boys and asked if I had a boyfriend, saying he could help me meet one of his students. During my last lesson, when I was accelerating to get on the highway, he pressed his hand on my mid-thigh because he wanted me to go faster. Still, the in-class instructor said the driving instructor would only touch us by pressing down on our knees to prompt us to accelerate. I'm not saying Ian was necessarily being maliciously inappropriate, but all those things made me uncomfortable. Otherwise, he was calm and taught me relatively well, so I thought I was being oversensitive. But reading reviews about instructors from this school being disrespectful to students more recently made me regret not writing this sooner. I wanted to share my experience, even though it was a long time ago.

Negative experience: The driving instructor named Gary absolutely demeaned both my younger siblings when they had him. He needs to keep his personal opinions to himself rather then commenting things like “you won’t get your drivers license living here ” “your parents don’t know how follow the rules ” proceeded to go through a stop sign and speeding over speed bumps, as young kids trying to lean this is unacceptable for someone who’s been doing this for “too long ” “I should be retired” I’d like to give a shout out to Nancy and Paul for there patience, help and understanding for fixing this situation!

Fantastic experience: Incredible in-class and in-car instructors. I was able to pass my G2 Exam on the 1st attempt after completing the driver’s ed course. I highly recommend Oshawa Driving School.

Fantastic experience: Amazing driving school great instructors well worth it

Negative experience: Horrible driving school, my boyfriend paid for lessons, did the in school part and never heard back from anyone for driving lessons, has tried calling to get his money back or lessons and no one responds. It’s been way over a year, when he did have an instructor that was suppose to take him out there was always an excuse as to why they couldn’t make it.

Fantastic experience: Excellent driving school! My friend who had her children take driver training at the Oshawa Driving School recommended I bring my children here. I brought my 2 daughters and 2 of their friends here and now sending my third daughter here as the staff are thorough, patient and easy to understand. The training provided made it much easier on me to tour around to "practice" drive when we had opportunity. Thank you Oshawa Driving School

Negative experience: Worst driving school. The in car instructors have too much attitude, are very rude, and refuse to teach even after being asked for revision. My sister came home crying after her first lesson because he would spend the lesson telling her how bad she was and didn't correct her. Every lesson after that, they only drove around and wouldn't let her practice the different requirements. His reasoning was because he "taught her everything on the first lesson" and she should know how to do everything now. Even when asked to practice parking he refused. When a mistake was made, he would point it out, and she asked to be corrected and to show and tell her how it should be done, his response would be "just do it". You can not fix your mistakes if you are not shown the write way to do it. He had the windows down and she asked to raise them up because she was afraid and distracted since she was driving for the first time, and he responded rudely with "well you are gonna let me die of this heat!", and kept the windows up. Another lesson she was being dropped home and she took out her phone to let us know that she arrived back safely, and he turned and yelled at her "what did you just send on your phone?!". My sister had such a terrible time with her in car lessons, and can honestly say she is only 20% aware of the in car driving regulations. She only had one lesson of how to do things, and drove in straight lines in every lesson after that. Never been more disappointed with a service in my life.

Fantastic experience: I did past my g2 there I recommend this driving school better than port union by far guys trust me

Positive experience: I graduated from this place a while ago and got my G2 a few months after. The in class lessons were fantastic the instructor was very communicative and clear and also very kind. My in car driving lessons were not as great. My driving instructor was very unkind and only practiced test material a few times. I was also made aware that he taught me outdated information as I had done something he claimed would cause me to screw up my G2 drive test and when I confronted my G2 evaluator he said that the information I was told was not valid. Overall it is a very good value and the in class section is very good it was just my driving instructor that was an issue however I know that isn’t the case with other instructors from this school

Fantastic experience: This company is A+++++. Nancy is always very informative, pleasant, courteous and quick to respond to all questions. Ian is an amazing, overly qualified instructor. He’s very calm cool and collected. He not only properly teaches driving and safety; he installs confidence in his students! Thanks for everything you’ve done for both my children.

Fantastic experience: Ian put my daughter at ease and taught her well. She passed her G2 at the end of August and was well prepared. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Ian is an amazing instructor. He is encouraging and calm while teaching. He is focused on the student's abilities and progress and is honest with his assessment. He is highly recommended. As a note, this review is provided in contrast to another local driving school where our previous instructor uses his phone for personal business during the lesson and plays loud music and sings while having the students drive to places so he can run his personal errands. Please consider Oshawa Driving School if you want your child to be the focus of this learning experience and not just getting a certificate and license through luck. Safety is everything. I wish this was our first choice. ** You will notice with my reviews that I don't like naming bad companies but I make sure that I recognize the good ones.

Fantastic experience: Passed my G2 yesterday. I feel Ian made an excellent job preparing me for the test. He was very calm and considerate. Truly grateful.

Fantastic experience: My brother just went through Oshawa Driving School. Ian was his in-car teacher. He was very calm and made my brother feel at ease. He was not only patient but understanding. My brother has a learning disability and needed someone who would be kind, patient and calm, as he was also very nervous. He not only passed, his confidence behind the wheel has created self confidence in my brother as well. Many thanks to the manager Nancy as well. She was very informative and made my family feel at home. Thank you as well to Paul, the in- class teacher. I would highly recommend ODS.

Negative experience: Worst driving School Had my son go there and would not recommend We had Ian as our instructor. He was late for driving lessons, 3 times he just didn't show up and blamed it on car troubles. Didnt even care to follow up to see if my son got his liscence. Would not send my other Children there.

Fantastic experience: I recommend the school 100%. Especially if you are taking in-car lessons ask for Ash he is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor. The best!

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal school, with extremely dedicated instructors, both in class and in car. Very personable and knowledgeable, and will go far out of their way to help those who put in the effort. Would strongly recommend.

Positive experience: Last summer enrolled my son to get his G2. In class was great and his driving instructor was very knowledgeable. Ten hours in the car isn't enough time for a new driver. But just my opinion. All said and done he got his G2 on the first go. Thanks Oshawa Driving School.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are all very friendly.They really listened to all my concerns and we're very supportive throughout the entire process.My daughter really likes her driving instructor Ash and says he is patient and gives her lots of positive reinforcement.Nancy is very kind ,understanding and compassionate towards kids with IEP's.I would recommend this school to anyone .They help you from day one to make sure your child has a positive experience.
