Fantastic experience: I recently completed the Insurance Reduction Course (Theory and 20 hours of Practice) with George as my driving instructor. George is an excellent teacher—very knowledgeable, patient and always with a positive attitude. I always looked forward to our lessons. Without any prior driving experience, I was not only able to pass my driving test on the first attempt but also gained valuable knowledge and skills beyond what is required to pass the test. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Took a brush up lesson with Nicholas Tsui last week one day before my road test. Nicholas went straight to the road test skills and absolutely no BS! He’s teaching style of instruction - practice - repeat helped fixed all my weak spots and gave me confidence. Passed the test the next day with a minor point deduction. Thank you! The lesson was on the pricey end. but comparing to the cost of road test and test retake and the anxiety and etc, the investment is definitely worth it. The receptionist answered my questions and was really considerate. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I have done two driving lessons with Drashko and he was an amazing instructor. Driving with him gave me a lot of confidence, and it was very great experience. I just did my third lesson today with George, and I have to say, he is an excellent driving instructor as well. George explains everything in a very clear way and explains what is happening on the road in a way that you can instantly understand. I felt very confident today, driving with George. I would absolutely recommend this school to any learners like myself.

I would recommend him to any anxious first time driver because of his patience and clear instructions. The 20 hour course was very helpful because I learned skills that aren’t necessarily on the road test but very useful to be a good defensive driver.

Fantastic experience: I have a driving experience of more than 20 years, but in another country. To pass the road test here, I took a driving lesson from Drashko and I do not regret it. He gave me all the details, answered my questions and gave me confidence. Explains everything intelligibly. It is better to spend money on a lesson once than to constantly spend it on exams.

George was a fantastic driving instructor, and his years of experience show through his expert mentorship. He treats his students with a warm and personable demeanor while maintaining a high standard of professionalism at all times. His competence not only as a driver but as a teacher makes him an extremely dependable driving instructor - even in the most stressful of situations, he was able to give instructions calmly and rationally. George helped me become a more proactive driver and my confidence as a driver has increased thanks to his mentorship. My experience with this driving school was highly positive and I will be recommending it to my friends. Cheers

Fantastic experience: Very professional course. My son worked through the online course at his pace, found it easy to navigate and learn the material. George was the driver who spent 10 hours in the car with my son. Very professional, provided clear direction and small talk throughout the course. Made my son feel comfortable driving in all conditions. I would defintiley recommend George and this driving school to new drivers.

Happy that I got to practice with George, his communication was clear, very useful tips were provided and moreover, I really understood the rationale behind this or that move/rule. I received 10 pts, which is a great achievement, road test examinator said that the instructor I was preparing with - did a really great job! All the best to you George, will recommend you to my friends. Unfortunately, don't know much about other instructors, but Olga from reception was very helpful to find the right time spot for the lesson because of my short notice request.She is also a real professional.

Fantastic experience: Although I don't usually write reviews, I felt compelled to write based upon such a positive driving experience that I had with George. The tips and lessons received are so valuable to take with you that go well beyond the courses and road tests. First of all, George not only has extensive knowledge as a driving instructor, but his character exceeds most of my fears. He is very patient, kind, respectful, and calm. When mistakes are made, he patiently reminds you of what to do and makes it a moment to learn from. This is the character I'd like to mirror when driving from here on out. George is one of those rare teachers that will be remembered.

Fantastic experience: I took a few brush-up in vehicle courses with instructor Sharanjit for my road test and she was really helpful and very supportive. Instructions were clear, and she identified what I needed to improve on. I had a great experience with her.

George teaches well and you'll have great conversation with him at the same time. He is super patient, knowledgeable and gives good advice. Fantastic experience: I was really struggling with my driving, couldn't pass my road test for several times. Proactive Driving School is the only school in Calgary that taught me how to drive properly. My instructors George and Sharanjit were super patient, kind, supportive and helpful. They know all about the requirements on a road test so they won't ever give you a wrong advice. I also think, they showed a good balance between being nice and being strict so I was able to notice and fix all my mistakes without getting too anxious. It took me a few times but I have finally passed a week ago, and I am very happy. I think if they could teach me how to drive, they could teach anyone. In-class lessons were also amazing and very informative. Brett is a great instructor. I also really liked the reception administrators (Lyuba, Fidan and Olga) at the driving school - always so polite and friendly!

Fantastic experience: A Proactive Driving School was extremely valuable experience for me. I enrolled in the Novice Insurance Reduction Course (10 Hours) after miserably failing my driving test leaving me anxious and fearful about driving. I requested George Lagaris after reading reviews on here and took a shot at trying to become a driver again. George blew away expectations and gave me confidence on the road to pass my road test with flying colors. George is extremely knowledgable and experienced but what made the difference for me was his extremely relaxed personality and patients. Being use to loud and impatient instructors on and off since earning my learners, George was a breath of fresh air. He deserves a raise for-sure! The total price of $820 was hard to get over at first but I considered it an investment in my safety as well as my families. Hopefully saving money on any possible future accident and insurance long term will make it more than worth it. Strongly Recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: This driving course was absolutely phenomenal, I had George Lagaris as my driving instructor and he was one of a kind, he was really easy to talk to and would always help you if you did something wrong and explain it in a way that you would always understand, thanks to him I passed my Drivers test and can drive on my own.

Fantastic experience: After doing lots of research, I called A Proactive Driving school and spoke to Luba who was really helpful. I signed both of my teens up for driving lessons. The both got an amazing driving teacher named John Odlum, This man has taught both my children to drive, he has patience and made my kids feel more confident after Each lesson. I really can’t thank John Odlum enough, I never thought my kids would learn so quick and become so confident. John you are a driving angel, Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: This driving school is great. I would recomend to anyone wanting to upgrade to a non-GDL license. The whole process was simple, I filled out the form on the website and within a half hour recived a phone call to book a lesson. I was paired with George and he met me at my apartment and took me around town highlighting things I should practice for the driving test. I did what he suggested and I passed the exam without issue.

Fantastic experience: As of 5 minutes ago (as of the writing of this review,) I completed the Insurance Reduction Course that this school offers and I have thoughts. Good thoughts! Going into this entire process with absolutely zero expectations or ideas of what was going to take place, the staff member that I contacted and registered with was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable about what it was that I was hoping to achieve: the ability to drive beyond mashing the pedal down, following the signs and maybe arriving at my destination without maiming anyone. When it came to the day(s) of class(es), Brent, the instructor for my sessions, was a man chock full of puns, experience, and fun side stories that helped explain what it was he was trying to teach us (which was obviously the finer points of driving.) See, reading the book from cover to cover is fine and all, you can know these things inside and out, but when it comes down to actually doing "the thing," having someone who's been doing "the thing" for a few decades really helps because then you get pointers, comparisons, and the perspective of someone who was once where you were. It's incredibly helpful to have someone cognizant of that fact when they're passing along knowledge because it goes from a cramming of information into an effective way to share what it is you need to know. Overall, my classroom experience was enriched by Brent's teaching despite having to shove the entire course into two days with as much material to cover as there was. Fast forward to the driving portion of the course. George, my driving instructor, was endlessly patient (for that one day I accidentally slept in,) experienced to the nines - he gave me an excellent pointer for parallel parking, - and never once did I get that "overbearing presence of the instructor" feeling from him as he kept track of literally everything that was going on around us and inside the vehicle. I tip my hat to his skill, his awareness, and his willingness to put up with a guy like me. I am indebted to him for teaching me a fundamental skill set that'll stick with me for the rest of my days. Folks, if you're told you'll be getting George for your instructor, you're in for a helpful, constructive experience, and maybe a fun drive or two! Thank you so very, very much to A Proactive Driving School for the service they provide and I wish them all the best in the future as they continue to serve Calgary and guide people to becoming better drivers.

Fantastic experience: Really friendly staff and way better prices than AMA. We have sent a couple kids to get their lessons here now and they've both come out much more confident drivers. The instructors seem to really make sure that the kids are getting good experience out of their lessons. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a good driving school program.

Fantastic experience: This is a great driving school where both theory and practice instructors are very knowledgeable and patient. Grant Wilson was my driving instructor and he was always on time for the lessons. He helped me build up my confidence when driving and always gave me very helpful advice. Admin staff were also very helpful and friendly. I'd totally recommend this school for anyone wanting to learn or re-learn to drive.
