Positive experience: Attended Knowledge Surge to get my DZ license, through their MELT class. DZ Course was 1 week in class for D related training, 2 days for Airbrakes with your endorsement test at the end of day 2. Then 3 intruck lessons (12hrs total). Personally I paid myself to go here and I would say I am happy with my choice, with that being said some students you are in class with may not take it as serious as you'd like but that's on them. Their job most likely paid for them to attend, so just ignore them the best you can and stay focused. The Teachers are where this place shines, They truly care about the trucking industry and want you to succeed. If you are struggling to understand something they will offer to stay after-hours or arrive early to help you 1on1 until you get it. Where they lost a star for me is because of the office staff. When I originally called to price out schools I was told the price after tax ... apparently, then once I was in class and got the invoice it was a fair bit more than I was originally quoted over the phone. (Go talk to them in person, don't call). My next issue is having the classes start at the same time the Office staff start their shift. Almost every morning you're there before any of the office staff, so If you have a question or need to sort something out with them you have to wait until later in the day because they won't be there before class starts. They advertise simulators but you only get to use them if the class size is small and you all move through the in class units quickly, so I never got to use one. All in all, it's a good place to learn trucking. Alot of hands on training and knowledgeable teachers that are personable. I'd recommend people go here if they are serious about getting into commercial driving.

Fantastic experience: I don’t really know where to start. I'am just going to say that my whole experience at Knowledge Surge has been one I will never forget. It has been quite an exciting journey. The AZ course it’s an excellent course here. All the instructors are very knowledgable and very helpful with years of experience. These guys are a bunch of great guys. The staff are all friendly and very accommodating. Thank you Rhiannon and Chelsey. There were a couple of times I really felt like quitting, but these guys encouraged me and push me to continue and keep trying. They believed in me, from Clay allowing me to figure things out and make my own call to John giving me hope that “ it’s ok some guys just get it after the 8th or 10th time “…. LOL.. Good times!!! The really young guy John ;) taught me some valuable maneuvers for backing . Dave is a great instructor and we all learned a great deal from him. All I can say is that If you are thinking about getting your AZ or DZ license this is definitely a place to really consider. I have learned a lot and feel really confident moving forward after all the knowledge I’ve gained here. Thank you

Fantastic experience: From start to finish, the owners, administrators, in-class instructors, and in-cab instructors were top shelf. They were all professionals in what they do and how the orchestrated themselves within their company, and while instilling knowledge from their industry. I would recommend these guys and gals to anyone serious about joining the trucking industry.

Fantastic experience: I went for DZ training and had very little confidence in myself and was extremely nervous because it was a new to me. The office staff was very friendly and inviting and my trainers Dave, John and Jim were friendly, patient, encouraging, helped build my confidence and taught me a lot. The other trainer that brought the truck for my test was just as friendly and encouraging. It was a pleasure to meet everyone there. They all made it feel like we've none eachother for years which helped calm my nerves and I past all my tests with flying colours. Thank you to the team you do a great job, I'll miss you all.

Fantastic experience: If you have no experience in driving transport and wanting to get in the trucking industry. I’d recommend going to knowledge surge. You will learn a lot. I would also recommend Lynn as your instructor when you get to start driving the trucks. She is a great teacher ( the best) with a lot of patience. All around good person to be around. She will make your lessons enjoyable. No stress. Teach you and have a good time doing it, she will let you know if you missed something and tell you how to fix it or remember. Takes her job seriously and her main goal is for you too pass so she will do everything she can to get you ready for the big road test.

Fantastic experience: I just want to say that the knowledge and professionalism of your team was at a level I didn’t expect. The content of the program and how it was delivered was really well versed and it didn’t matter if it was in class or in cab all of the instructor’s recognized how myself as a individual was absorbing the information. These Instructor’s all went above and beyond and made a relationship that won’t be forgotten. Also the process of applying and setting up lessons with a full time job was effortless so thank you and your staff for that aswell Rhiannon. Fantastic experience: After starting a second career I was hesitant and also nervous to be returning to school to begin another career. This didn’t last long as on my first contact with the team at Knowledge Surge from the manager(s) to the trainers ; everyone was welcoming and helpful. This institution provided me with the knowledge to obtain a FT position within 3 days of passing my road test. Knowledge Surge is recognized throughout the industry as one of the best and I can see why. The instructors were helpful and patient, I can’t recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Going in with no experience what so ever drivewise and there great instructors made sure I was ready for my final test. Fantastic experience: I’m a little late to write this review. But I’m here to give an honest review. First big thanks to Dave and Katherine. They both are very understanding and nice people. They helped me with all their heart. I’m happy I did my training at this school and I will strongly suggest everyone come to this school and give it a try most of the instructors are very nice and they will do their best to make you understand stuff and make you comfortable. I have never seen a trainer like Dave who will make notes for students and add extra effort for students who have a hard time. They also help me with my fee I owe them big time. Katherine personally provided me with a couple of free lessons knowing my situation that I’m not able to afford extra lessons. They take care of their students. Give them a chance you not going to regret it. Thank you everyone for making it work

Fantastic experience: Great school for learning the ins and outs of driving an 18-wheeler, the in class portions are fun and teach you a lot. As well the instructors are all great and are dedicated to helping students learn and improve their skills to be able to not only pass the road test but also to be able to succeed in their future with an AZ or DZ license. The office staff are equally as dedicated and understanding and are more than willing to work around your schedule to help you get things done.

They were incredible from day 1 of in class right up to my drive test. They have professional drivers who spent their careers driving commercial trucks, with you every step of the way. Id like to specifically thank Dave S. Dave T. and Jim for my in truck lessons, I wouldn't have passed my drive test without you guys, so thank you! Also I originally did my Z endorsement at another driving school in Barrie a few years back. I redid the Z endorsement when I went to Knowledge Surge for my Class A, as a refresher. There was a night and day difference between the two schools and I am very pleased that I went through the MELT program with Knowledge Surge instead of the original school I attended. Fantastic experience: My husband just finished his AZ trucking license here! All of the staff were amazing- super friendly, and approachable. They always are willing to work around your schedule, and if you need something you just have to ask! Unlike other schools, there is no fuss, and they are extremely professional. The instructors are well experienced and have a lot of knowledge that is useful for new drivers! The drivers are very patient and willing to take the time necessary to train you! The in- class environment is also good! Definitely recommend this trucking school, and will help you learn all the important information to be successful in your first job! Fantastic experience: I've wanted to drive a truck my whole life and everyone here made it happen. I went from a G to an AZ so I had most of the instructors at some point during my time. I learned lots from Dave in the in-class part and Don for my Z course. Chris, Jim, and Ken were all great for the driving lessons. They all have many years of experience and do a great job using it to teach someone who's never been on the road in a truck. There were no issues at all working around my full time job and at one point a sudden issue close to my road test. The trucks are newer 10 speed manuals with 53 foot trailers and the classroom includes simulator time. The simulators are set up just like a real truck with advanced physics to prepare you for the road and give you a good start learning how to shift and handle a vehicle this size. Highly recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: I can't express just how incredible Knowledge Surge is! I Did my AZ training with them. From my first phone conversation with administration to inquire about the course, all the way through to course completion, the staff were nothing shy of spectacular! Everyone that works there is a joy to be in the presence of and they're all perfectly suited for their role in the school. If you're looking for first hand knowledge of the trucking industry, or any education behind the wheel, I would absolutely recommend Knowledge Surge! Going anywhere else would be a waste of time and money!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend doing your AZ training here. The staff is amazing from the office staff, classroom instructor, and the in truck instructors. I did the 200hr 6 week course and it set me up for passing my A written, Z endorsement and A road test first try. I couldn't be happier with the choice I made. They train in 10 speed highway tractors with full size trailers, the same as you'll be using at most on the road jobs. The facility is beautiful and clean, close to 400 hwy, multiple simulators with many different modes. Do yourself a favour and set yourself up for success here.

Positive experience: Nice staff except for the in-class instructor I had. He would rush through topics with little actual teaching being done. He would tell us to search on Google for answer and then he would just sit there. Paid $450 for a textbook that was never used. Mask policy was loosely enforced as half the class did not wear any masks at all. The in truck instruction is the only saving grace I had and the only part that enabled me to pass my exam. The trucks were in good condition with no issues. Unfortunately trucking is next to impossible to get into so the schooling so far has been a waste of time and money. All companies require 1 year experience or you can get ripped off and have no life doing CPM jobs. Like say they hindsight is a B. Gonna have to go back to regular type work that at least pays.

Fantastic experience: What a way to start a new year!! I would like to share with you my experience at Knowledge Surge Institute in Barrie. I recently obtained my AZ commercial vehicle operators licence after a rewarding 6 week course, and had a wonderful experience. I knew the second I walked through the doors, I had chosen the right school, I was always greeted with a smile and encouragement by owners Leslie and Martin. Manager Samantha is amazing, she took me under her wing from day one. Her positive attitude is what got me through each day. Going above and beyond to ensure this was a positive experience. As a member of the Women's Trucking Association Samantha took it upon herself to enroll me as their newest member. And where do I start with the trainers, Dave S., Don Gray and Dave T., each with 30 plus years experience, taught me everything I need to know, in great detail, and with patience, about operating and maintaining a commercial AZ vehicle. I will take their guidance on the road with me each day. With never have ever driven a manual transmission, with their training I can confidently drive a 10 speed manual tractor trailer. That says a lot about the professionalism of these amazing guys. With 200 hours in class, in truck, one on one and utilizing state of the art simulators they gave me the knowledge, skills and confidence to embark on my new career. And I cant forget Michelle, program advisor, she made sure there were no scheduling conflicts and made sure my entire course ran smoothly. The best feeling was when I got back to the school from my road test and the entire staff were at the door to congratulate me, it made the words " You Passed" that much more fulfilling. If I had to do it all over again I would chose Knowledge Surge again in a heart beat, well worth the time and money spent. They are like one big family committed to your success. Fantastic experience: I was student at this school as a new comer in Canada for 2 years. I took my AZ Commercial License after my training at Knowledge Surge Barrie. Even dough English is my second language, they've always done their best to train me perfectly. I was worried at the beginning as a new comer, to be in a smaller city in Barrie and take this course, but they all showed me warm and diverse culture of Canada. I was always more than welcomed by owners, management and my instructors. I always felt like I'm at home. They trained me very well and I've already knew what I'm doing and how to handle 53 feet long trailer with a commercial truck at Commercial Driving Test. 4 Months after my registration I got my full AZ License. Program has been designed excellent, first started with online modules and than very tough in-class training which is supported by brand new simulators with mentors who are experienced average 40 years of truck driving experiences, and then with them 60 hours of driving practice classes completed. Whenever I've any problem managers were always solving my problems. Especially one of my driving instructor Mr. Don GRAY was very impressive for me, he didn't only teach me how to operate a Tractor-Trailer, but also gave me lots of tips about Truck driver's life style, safety of myself, road and other people. defensive and safe driving technics. This school didn't train me just only for driving, but also prepared me for this tough lifestyle! I will always be appreciated to dear school manager Samantha and Program advisor Michelle. If you wanna start a new career you should definitely see those two gorgeous ladies, they'll make everything ready for you. They deserved every single penny that I paid, now I'm starting a new career in my Canada life. Good luck for everyone!
