1st Class Driving School

Fantastic experience: I just completed the Air Brakes course facilitated by Darryl, and I was very impressed with his knowledge of the subject and his ability to make a seemingly dry subject interesting. His years of experience are readily apparent. I passed the ICBC knowledge test with no difficulty today thanks to his pointing out and reiterating exactly what we needed to know. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Took the single unit air brakes course, class on Friday evening and the morning Saturday with Darryl (7 hours of total theory) & 4 hours of practical on Saturday with Kurt including the pre-trip inspection (ICBC Driver Certification so you only need the knowledge test @ Service BC). Plenty of practice quizzes and we walked through every pertinent chapter in the current "Driving Commercial Vehicles" (2022 edition). Was able to do a walk-in @ Service BC in Campbell River on Monday morning, paid $15 for the exam, scored 100% (the exam ends if you get the first 20 correct out of the 25 questions). $17 for the new license to be issued with the air brakes endorsement, they take a new photo and as long as your license doesn't expire within the next 6 months, the expiration date stays the same.

Fantastic experience: I just took my class 3 driver test with Darryls company. It was not him who did the lessons, instead an employee. The guy was really nice and super helpful. He made sure I was comfortable with all the info prior to my driving test. The truck was in good condition easy to do the walk around on. Darryl is a super busy guy so almost all communication will be through texts but he always got back to me. Would suggest using this company for sure!

Negative experience: One there Trucks just about takes me out and all they can say is there learning. No apologie.

Fantastic experience: I just finished the Air Brakes Course with Darryl February 2023, he is an excellent instructor. Very thorough and professional, easy to understand concepts and fast paced repetition style teaching that solidifies the information quickly so you remember everything, with hands on applications like drum brakes he shows you how to adjust, interactive quizzes and quiz games... I scored 100% on my ICBC written exam after his course. Darryl's class is top tier, 10/10 would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Hello Darryl, I've been driving Super-B Chip trucks for 2 months now since I got my license. It's a driving experience that no one could have prepared me for but you and Brent. My trainers were surprised with my driving skills despite being so fresh out of school. When I took my road test I wasn't entirely sure I was going to pass but I ended up with 0 road demerits and 1 demerit on the pre-trip because I did my air test for 45 seconds instead of a minute. Changing gears had become second nature at that point and I'm sad my company didn't give me a manual truck for that reason. I only wish I asked more questions about my specific profession I was going into before I left. I can't thank you enough for all of the advice, all of the work and effort and all of the specific driving scenarios I asked to work on. The Super-B experience I learned with your school has made my job so much easier than had I not. There's only one thing I have to fear now, and that's Winter. Just make sure new drivers know to always bring a book, some food and drink because anything can happen in this profession. Thanks for everything, -Andrew M

Fantastic experience: My coworker and I just took the course this past weekend and went to write our test and both passed. I had a great time and learned a lot and was nice to have all who were there. So if your looking to take the Air Brake Endorsement course I would highly recommend 1st Class Driving School. Fantastic experience: In January of 2018 I had driving lessons with Daryll at 1st Class Driving School. I must say Daryll is an excellent instructor, with good teaching methods. I passed my Class 1 AutoMatic Driving Test January 30, 2018. A variety of options regarding which driving instruction you want as well as great scheduling of lessons including weekends. Thanks for being accommodating.
