Fantastic experience: Al is the best instructor. Honestly! I aced the road test because of his lessons and encouragement. I was so nervous on the day of my test and he kept telling me I was going to do just fine because we have practiced everything and he trusts me. Thank you Al. You are amazing.

Fantastic experience: We made the RIGHT choice by contacting AL. My son passed his N today after being taught by AL. Take note, one take only and he passed his N! Amazing! AL was very thorough and patient in teaching my son the do’s and don’ts of driving. I am so thankful that we made the right choice. From day 1 I knew my son is in good hands. AL trusts my son and he gave me the assurance that my son is a great and calm driver. I was calmed by his reassurance actually because I know he is an experienced driving instructor. Next up, my daughter, oh wait, she’s just 8 years old. 8 more years to go, AL! I hope you are not yet retired by then because I WILL CALL YOU and book a driving lesson for my daughter. I rarely do reviews but AL is worth it, not just 5 stars. If I could give him 10 or even 20 stars, I would. So to all parents who are looking for a driving instructor for your child or if you are wanting to finally learn how to drive AND PASS THE ROAD TEST, don’t hesitate to contact AL of Abbey Road Driving School! He is really good and trustworthy.

Fantastic experience: Really recommend Al because you really can’t find a better instructor than that man even if you tried. I passed the driving test first try and so did my brother because of him. He fixed my bad habits, showed me everything I should be aware of on the road. And Not that one can teach common sense on the road but he taught me it. He is a great teacher. He never made me feel stupid for messing up or not being aware of something. Al was never tired to repeat something that just didn’t click and made sure I knew that I could ask him questions anytime. Incredibly patient with me and to this day have no clue where he got that patience. When it came to my mistakes (and trust me there were many of them and really stupid ones too) he would take me back to the same road like 2-3 times in a row and walk me through everything so I could build the “ doing it right” streak instead of the “dam I messed up again” streak. Really humbling experience. Before Al I honestly was scared of driving because you never know what could happen, I didn’t want to be the cause of any accidents to anyone because that would be terrifying and definitely don’t want to scratch the precious car. But Al had the fancy extra built in brakes so it was cool. As a result driving with him was fun, light, I am more comfortable behind the wheel and really relaxed and in the moment which is very important for driving. He is truly amazing. One last thing. Thank you Al for showing me the importance of stopping at a stop sign even though there is not a human being or car in sight.

He is very kind, patient and understanding so taking my lessons with him I felt comfortable the entire time! I was able to get a test sooner than I thought and he made sure I was prepared and felt confident in my driving abilities. When I got anxious he was incredibly supportive and encouraging through the whole process. Thank you Al, you’re awesome!!

Fantastic experience: Recently, I made the decision to get some driving lessons to increase my odds of getting my N first try. There was a small window of time that I could get lessons and Al was the only person who was there to teach me, and I'm so glad he ended up being my driving instructor. Al displays a level of friendliness, understanding, and patience like no other. Every aspect of driving where I lacked confidence, Al would slowly teach me until I felt like a professional! It was an honor to have him as my instructor and I 100% recommend him for anyone else looking to learn in a non-stressful environment.

Fantastic experience: Al is an absolutely wonderful driving instructor. My son needed to quickly hammer out as many lessons as possible prior to his N exam, and Al was incredibly accommodating. One time my kid was to be picked up at high school for his lesson and forgot his licence at home so Al drove him to get it. He is a wealth of knowledge. I work in traffic enforcement and hearing his advice and his guidance to my son was very reassuring. It’s clear that Al cares SO much about his students. My sons earliest available driving test was in Richmond and Al gladly offered to pick him up, have my son drive to Richmond, gave him another lesson touring the Richmond test routes, and then let him use his car for the test. I can’t say enough, my son loved his time with Al, they acted like best friend’s and genuinely liked hanging out together. Invest in yourself or your family with Abbey Road and Al, you’ll be so glad that you did.

Fantastic experience: Jeannine A very friendly and amazing instructor. After failing my 1 first road test I meet these instructor who helped to fix all the mistakes i made on the first road test. Fantastic experience: He was a very good instructor, he taught me very well and he made sure to focus on improving my weak points, The mock tests i did with him very useful as he did an amazing job at correcting me on the mistakes i made to help me improve. He is very calm, collected, and kind. He shows a lot of care for other drivers on the road and pedestrians as well and make sure that you are aware of being a safe driver. Fantastic experience: Al is such a grate driving instructor. he has his own teaching methods that truly work and make learning to drive easy, and he makes driving with him a very comfortable experience, I didn't feel anxious driving with him at all because of his super bubbly and friendly personality. After learning to drive with Al my driving skills rapidly improved and I managed to get my class 5 on the first attempt. I definitely definitely recommend him! THANK YOU AL

We took his services to get my wife trained for class 7 road tests and she took 4-5 lessons and passed within a week. We are very happy that we reached him for training. Fantastic experience: After a terrible experience with another local driving instructor, I was an extremely anxious, nervous driver and was scared to give lessons a try again. Al was nothing but patient, kind, understanding and supportive of my journey. I cannot recommend ARDS enough - especially for new drivers who are a bit nervous behind the wheel. I passed first attempt and could not be happier. Now i'm driving by myself to Vancouver almost every day and planning an Okanagan road trip which is something I never thought I would be able to do - all thanks to Al and his amazing lessons!

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful that I found Al! There is absolutely no way I would have my license right now if I hadn’t. My test was coming up in a week and I called him looking to book his time for a practice lesson before the test and a car to use for the test. Al asked if I was ready. Well, I definitely did not feel ready and was contemplating cancelling my test or rebooking it. Al made time in his schedule and offered to take me out for a lesson the next day to see where I was at and work on my weak spots. In a matter of minutes, Al taught me both how to parallel park and stall park, something I had major anxiety about. After every lesson I had, I could tell I was actually becoming a better, safer, and more confident driver. Al also gave me great tips about how to stay calm during the test and not let nerves take over. The result? I was calm and passed on my first try! Something I honestly never thought I would accomplish. Not only is Al a great instructor, but he genuinely really cares about his students and helping them adequately prepare for the test. This is what you can expect: Al is organized, plans lessons ahead, doesn't cancel, never late, doesn't talk on the phone during lessons, you will have 100% of his undivided attention. He goes not waste your time by driving around, he takes you through every challenging intersection, every tight turn, every hard to see school zone sign... he knows every hole on the road, and you will know it too. He is calm, polite, makes you feel safe, so you can focus on building up your driving skills. His instructions are clear and meaningful. Forget about elaborate multi-step maneuvers, his techniques are straightforward, logical, easy to remember. You will feel that this instructor is invested in your success even more that you are.
