Negative experience: I booked 1 driving lesson and use of car for a road test on the recommendation of the booking staff that the driving instructor would assess if/how many more lessons I would require to be fully prepared for the exam. After the first driving lesson the instructor recommended 2 more lessons, and told me I would be called to schedule them. After a few months of not hearing from YD, I called and asked about getting a few more lessons booked and was told that due to staffing issues they were unable to book new clients. At that point I advised YD that I needed some time to think about next steps, as the next few weeks were busy for me. I just called YD back a few months later and was told once again that they’re still unable to book any lessons even 6 months out. I understand staffing issues, but I’m happy to book with multiple months of lead time and YD is still not able to accommodate. I’ve asked for a refund on the unused portion and will be looking elsewhere. On the actual service I did receive, I was very impressed. My instructor was professional, and provided great instruction. I just wish I could have booked more lessons.

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with Erin. From the very first lesson, Erin’s professionalism and expertise were evident. She possesses a remarkable ability to make even the most nervous of learners feel at ease behind the wheel. Erin’s calm and composed manner was particularly reassuring during more challenging driving situations, helping me to remain calm and focused. Thanks to Erin’s excellent instruction, I passed my driving test on the first attempt.

My instructor, Erin, was really understanding about my anxiety with driving and gave me helpful defensive driving tips, which is not taught at other schools. They really do go above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: I’ve newly moved to Canada and booked Erin as my driving instructor last evening. My road test was this morning so I could only have one lesson with her. She gave me a mock test and ponited out the skills I needed to practice. She even wrote me an email last night to elaborate all the details before taking the test. I was sooo moved to see her heartfelt notes when I woke up in the morning and I kept them in my mind so that I avoided those mistakes during the test. I’ve passed and received my C5 license. They are super kind and professional.

Negative experience: You pay a premium for this service and my son got ill the day of his lesson and we were told we lost the lesson that had been paid for. Next time he's going even if he has COVID I guess.

Fantastic experience: We had all 3 of our boys going through Young Drivers and were very pleased with the skills they learned. From theory to road test, all well handled and taught effectively.

Fantastic experience: YD Kelowna were a nice help in reviewing for class 5. The advice provided from my instructors was succinct and very helpful. Cam and Jodi were personable and professional; their guidance helped make the road-test a breeze.

Fantastic experience: Steve was an excellent instructor. My daughter had him for three lessons and he was so helpful and shared so much knowledge on the driving rules, driving tips etc. My daughter is a shy girl but she said with Steve she felt so comfortable to ask him any question as she sensed he really loved sharing his knowledge.  Proof of the good work young drivers had done was in her road test with ICBC. My daughter scored perfect and her ICBC tester did not find one error to comment on or tick off on the exam.

Positive experience: Been doing quite well having to slightly adjust with new teachers but so far enjoying my learning experience ☺

Fantastic experience: Amazing program! I took the full program package with my Learner's liscence. The in-class sessions were super informative and gave me a full understanding of driving, it's risks, using your car efficiently and safely, and to keep it in great condition. The in-car sessions are a great way to gain practice time on the roads, in parking lots, and doing emergency maneuvers to build confidence in new or experienced drivers. All the instructors are very friendly, encouraging, and make a comfortable and safe environment for the students. After completing the course I was able to get my N (Class 7 Liscence) on my first attempt! I highly recommend this driving school for everyone.

Negative experience: I have contacted YD a few times & every time I connected with someone I was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I have connected with other driving schools in the area & have gotten better customer service.

Fantastic experience: As an adult with absolutely no previous driving experience whatsoever as well as no access to a car/driving supervisor on top of a busy schedule, I can confidently say that Young Drivers changed my life. Their defensive driving techniques transformed me from a non-driver with serious anxiety surrounding driving to a confident, safe driver with great safety habits. Their instructors, particularly Rick Murray, are absolutely amazing at curbing anxiety and giving precise, clear instructions; I loved the personalized in-car experience. The way the instructors are able to pinpoint each of your driving difficulties and help you work on them until mastery is absolutely astounding. CogniFit for brain/reflex training was an added bonus, plus customer service is friendly and highly organized (thanks for everything, Cal!). To top it off, they do pick-ups/drop-offs right from your house! I actually enjoy driving now, and there is no way I could have gotten here without YD.

Negative experience: I am disappointed in this company, not because of the courses that they offer but in the fact that I had sent them an email asking for some information six days ago and have received no response. This to me is totally unacceptable for a company especially a company that is Canada wide. I have emailed other small local companies and have been given all the info that I have requested.

Negative experience: I wrote a negative review last week which was critical of Young Drivers, it was done in a moment of emotion right after my daughter had failed her test. I apologize to the gentleman that called me from Young Drivers. My daughter failed her driving test based on her own merits, Young Drivers had no culpability in her failing. I wish Young Drivers the best and I apologize again for my comments.

Fantastic experience: I could not be more pleased with my experience with Young Drivers Kelowna. With the help of their Adult GLP program and Calum and his amazing team of instructors, I went from barely knowing the first thing about driving and being incredibly anxious behind the wheel, to becoming a confident driver and getting my N within less than 5 months! I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to get a very thorough education on defensive driving. Whether you're short on time (like I was) or not, you can count on them to help you reach your goal, whatever it may be!

Fantastic experience: I had the most amazing experience with young drivers. I was at another driving school a year ago and the experience was not great at all. Unfortunately the instructor made me nervous and I already suffer from anxiety. With them I failed my first test. I tried again with a little more confidence but still didn’t pass. At this point I was nervous to take it again. My lessons where over with them and for a while I didn’t drive. Since I drove with them for my first time, driving was an absolute nightmare. I had no confidence and was shaky most of the time. At first signing up for the young drivers I was nervous. I didn’t have a great experience the first time with the other driving school so I wasn’t sure. But my lessons where just the best ever. I wasn’t nervous or had anxiety and thanx to them I realized driving is actually fun. With them I passed immediately my N and I couldn’t be more happy that I chose them. Thank you. You guys do such an amazing job to ensure that the students enjoy driving as well as learn. You make sure that it’s fun as well as safe. I felt secure and sure about myself and the result is that I have my confidence back. I would recommend young drivers to anyone who is starting to drive. Thank you again

Fantastic experience: My lessons with Aaron at Young Drivers helped tremendously to find confidence in my abilities behind the wheel, and overcome the anxieties of taking the road test. The Road Test package in particular is an amazing service that goes a long way towards making sure you succeed in your test. Being able to go out for a mini practice test just before the official road test (as a refresher of what to/not to do, and familiarize yourself with the vehicle you'll be taking the test in) was a huge confidence booster. I'll admit that there's a chance I could've done fine practicing my driving and taking the road test on my own, but with Young Drivers I ensured it, and passed my road test with ease! If you have any anxieties about driving (or more specifically, taking the road test), do yourself a favor and at least consider Young Drivers to help you through it!

Fantastic experience: I 100% recommend Young Drivers to anyone who is learning to drive, the experience I had with this organization exceeded my expectations. In terms of in-class it was really nice to be in such a small group (1 of 7 students) which enabled more one on one time with the teacher (Ted who is a funny and welcoming person that always made learning easy and fun) to ask any questions I had. Not only were there a variety of interactive methods of teaching but I was provided with a booklet that contains everything I learned (which I still look through to this day). Once I began my lessons I was had the opportunity to meet Aron who was my instructor for every session. not only was he flexible in terms of my availability but he was very calm and professional. His ability to explain things in a mellow manner allowed me to remain relaxed and feel more in control while operating the vehicle. Before this course, I was mortified of jumping behind the wheel. Because I was taught the correct skill set and eased into the physical aspect I now can say for sure I am a safe and confident driver. The skills I learned not only prepared me for my test but as well equipped me with the knowledge of a safe driver for my future. I can not begin to express my gratitude toward Young Drivers and the people who make everything run so smoothly.

Fantastic experience: Young Drivers has been an amazing opportunity for me, both in class and in-car. I have learned so many useful skills from this program that I will remember for the rest of my life. The Instructors are extremely nice, and really know how to teach the material. They are also not very "critical", as in if you make mistakes they don't make you feel like an idiot.

Fantastic experience: Ted was a fantastic, patient, informative instructor. He gave great feedback after each lesson of what to work on. Our daughter had so much relief hearing from Ted that she was ready for the test and doing a great job!! She passed, just like he said. Lessons definitely instilled confidence, and ensured she was up to speed with current testing requirements.

Fantastic experience: To start off, I'll be completely frank...the in-class lessons felt pointless, at first. Maybe it was just my experience and the teacher I had, but they were incredibly boring and I found it hard to focus because of this. It seemed like the last thing the teacher wanted to do was be there. Come to my in-car lessons, I was a bit nervous because of the negative experience with in-class lessons. What if the instructor I got was just as unenthusiastic? That would only stress me out more. I was lucky enough to have Charles as my instructor. He was encouraging, kind, and (most importantly) enthusiastic, and did everything to up my confidence (not overly so, of course). I am overly pleased to have had him. Every mistake I made was discussed and explained, but never frowned upon or judged. While I didn't have much confidence in passing my exam, he definitely did, and, as was made apparent today upon getting my N, it was not misplaced. In the end, I was always excited for lessons and I think that's important; I'll miss them! If other instructors there are anything like him, I can't recommend these lessons enough. They totally made up for the in-class lessons while also making me realize why both sets of lessons are important to begin with.

Fantastic experience: A great atmosphere to learn the necessary skills required to safely operate a motor vehicle, I enjoyed my time at young drivers and my instructor taught me very well and gave me feedback and which helped me further improve my driving skills.

Fantastic experience: Great instructors and a very thorough course from in-class to in-car. In-car instructions are made very clear and concise for you, and the instructor makes sure you're comfortable with verbal instructions before trying maneuvers. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting a great learning environment and a seamless experience!

Fantastic experience: I took a YD course in order to switch my home-country license to the BC one and to be ready for the road test. I passed it without a problem. The theory part was great, it was very insightful yet concise. I would like to thank my driving instructor Charles Lelliott, whose expertise and input have been a great help not only for my success at the test itself, but also for getting the idea of being a good driver in general. I also want to thank Aaron Holbrook, who acted as my substitute instructor as well as Calum MacMillan, YD Center Director, who was always there able to help with any issues or concerns I had.
