Fantastic experience: I just passed my road test today on the FIRST TRY despite having EXTREME anxiety about driving. Chris was so calm, so nice, and super duper helpful. If you suffer from anxiety and nervousness regarding driving, Phoenix Driving School is the way to go!!! Even as a total beginner, he makes sure to take lessons slow and reassures students with every step. I never thought I would get my license but it’s because of my lessons with Phoenix Driving School that I was able to pass today with a nearly perfect score, as someone who was a super beginner and couldn’t even turn the car! Fantastic experience: I took drivers ed in high school and although I finished it over 12 years ago, I didn't want to drive as I was anxious and nervous after not being supported by my drivers ed instructor at the time. I heard through a friend about Chris and I liked the other reviews so I took a chance and it was the best decision I made! Not only did Chris help me with overcoming my fears of driving, he also spent time getting to know me and supporting me. Chris is very patient and knows what he is doing. I spent 3 months taking courses with Chris and went from feeling super anxious just thinking about driving to passing my road test on my first try with 0 mistakes!! I strongly recommend Chris as your driving instructor as he is super knowledgeable, will be supportive and will teach you how to be a good and safe driver!

Fantastic experience: Chris is experienced, patient and kind. I was learning how to drive for the first time. When I made mistakes, he explained why that would be wrong (by the book and by intuition), and he shared tips on how to do better. I especially appreciate Chris’s reminders on the importance of keeping my pace with the flow and practicing defensive driving! Although I was so nervous before my road test that I almost drove away someone else’s car, I passed the test on my first try with an excellent score , thanks to Chris’s great lessons.

Fantastic experience: Just passed my road test on the first try! I had My learners licence for 23 years, and had severe anxiety regarding driving for the last 10 due to previous accidents I was involved in. Chris recognized this, once I started taking lessons from him, and gradually worked my driving skills up, while casually keeping me calm behind the wheel with great conversations. My driving improved, with alot of skills becoming second nature. Most importantly, I felt comfortable and prepared for the test. Chris is a great instructor. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Completely inappropriate, spent most of our time talking about his girlfriend at the time and her ex husband, crossed SO many personal and professional boundaries. Wasted a TON of my time and insane amounts of my money. The level of emotional dumping that was happening from him made it incredibly hard to focus on anything, did not teach me based on my skill level (I've had my license prior), but instead used huge chunks of my time driving around in circles during rush hour and not going over anything I had specifically asked to review.

Fantastic experience: I reached out to Chris after some thorough research on driving schools in Winnipeg. He was very patient, thoughtful, and helpful during the lessons. From the very first lesson, I knew I wanted to continue taking lessons with Chris. 5 lessons later, I took my road test and passed.

Fantastic experience: I passed my road test yesterday with the help of phoenix driving school. Chris was very patient and understanding, explains stuff clearly. i am a very anxious driver and gets distracted very easily. But i passed! Every lesson was fun and encouraging. You will definitely nail your parallel parking if you get him as an instructor. He has a way in making parallel parking so easy. I would highly recommend him specially to anxious drivers like me! 100% worth your money :)

Booking a lesson days before your road test to refresh all the rules of the road is a great suggestion Chris will make and believe me it makes a difference for your road test!

Fantastic experience: Honest, respectful, professional and clam. He is always on time to pick me up, and is organized and well-prepared. He has a big document folder which shows rules and instructions whenever you need them. He has good communication skills which make everything clear and easy to understand. He is patient, especially if you are not an English native speaker. One thing I really appreciate is that unlike other driving trainers, Chris doesn't yell at me or blame me or criticize me, instead, he gives me positive feedback and encourage me which boost my confidence.

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough good things about Chris. His parallel parking strategy is down to a science. Chris not only taught me skills to pass a road test, but skills on defensive driving and being a good driver all around. As a woman, I felt totally confident, comfortable, and safe in the car with Chris. Fantastic experience: The best driving instructor! He's very chill, has many great tips and tricks on road tests, defensive driving and the rules on the road. His lesson on parallel parking is the best method that I have been taught and it is really easy to remember. It's very clear the first day of your driving lesson with him that he knows how to make people feel comfortable and safe driving for the first time or the first time in a while. He immediately catches the frequent bad habits you have driving or the frequent mistakes that you do and works with you to easily fix it. Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my driving lessons with Chris! He is excellent at teaching and a very friendly person. When we started, I was completely new to driving, but he was patient and made me feel comfortable and confident at driving. I didn't have a chance to practice with someone else between lessons with Chris and was worried that maybe it would be hard for me to pass the test, but I passed on the first try, made just 4 mistakes. Fantastic experience: Highly recommended!!! I had less than 1-year driving experience in Australia, where people drive on the other side. So I was so nervous taking my first driving lesson in Winnipeg. I was looking for a professional and friendly teacher, then my friend introduced Chris to me. Obviously, Chris is really good at teaching, and he cares of his students. He will tell you not only everything you need to know for the road test, but also notice you some unexpected and dangerous situations and how to handle it. I had about 5 lessons with him before the road test in January. Then I passed in my first try with only 1 mistake by following his instructions plus a little lucky. By the way, Chris is very humorous, and he really makes you feel comfortable during all your lessons. Thank you a lot for all experiences, Chris!

Fantastic experience: Amazing teacher! I contacted Chris to book a crash training for my wife who was taking her road test for the first time within 72 hours. We were able to find a 2 hour slot and he was very professional in understanding her strengths and weaknesses. She took another quick class one hour before the test and took the test... boom.. she passed with just 3 minor errors! It is rare to find someone with so much knowledge and patience to take on such a challenge and deliver! That is exactly what Chris did!! Thank you Phoenix driving school. Fantastic experience: 5 out of 5 stars! Chris is an amazing driving instructor who makes the entire practice session feel like a breeze while coaching along the way. After the car accident I was in a year ago, I thought I would never be able to drive without fear again but he helped remove all the anxiety of driving. He taught me things that drivers ed (and my horrible instructor) never taught me and made so many things easier, while teaching a safer and more practical way of doing them. Fantastic experience: I came back from Japan after 14 years living abroad and had to take a retest. I'd grown accustomed to driving abroad (Japan has their own set of rules outside of the whole 'driving on the other side of the road' thing) and felt that a lesson or two to re-familiarize myself with Canadian rules would be worth it. Boy was it ever. Chris was knowledgeable about those differences and where foreign drivers frequently ran into difficulties with our road tests. He kindly explained those things while we took the lesson, making notes on what I'd likely learned over in Japan and then thoughtfully explained how it was different. I took the test, kept Chris's advice in mind, and passed it on the first try.
