Fantastic experience: Two of our young drivers recently completed the driver’s education program with Gear Up in St. Thomas. They both had a fantastic experience and successfully passed their G2 road tests, feeling well-prepared and confident. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to cancel our next young driver’s enrollment. Gear Up handled the situation excellently, making the process smooth and stress-free. We will definitely return when our youngest driver is ready to take the program.

Fantastic experience: Gear is a great program. The owner Suzanne was my driving instructor and made sure I was ready for my g1 exit test. I would highly recommend gear up for anyone that wants to be a great driver.

Fantastic experience: I had a pleasure taking lessons from the Gear Up Ed Academy. Hunter was my instructor. I had a great learning experience with her. She explains every thing properly, firstly on paper and then by making you do them, if needed she would do it herself for your understanding. Her commands are clear and perfect. She prepared me for the test in every scenario. Taught & polished my 3 point turns, hill parks and parallel parks. Of course one would need to practice by themselves apart from the lessons. But she was very supportive of every thing. Before the test she made me relax and she walked through it all at the test centre with me. I would highly recommend her! Can’t wait to take my Full G Lessons with her. Thanks again Hunter!

Fantastic experience: The actual drivers ed in class time was just amazing all in general. The instructor is very nice and knows how to keep people engaged and entertained. She explains things throughly and takes time on things that are needed. The in car lessons is a great learning experience, the girl I had just had great energy and also explained things very well and talked me through everything, I didn’t have to question anything. I’ve absolutely loved my experience with gear up and am excited for my next lesson. Thank you gear up for everything you have done for me, you are putting me a great successful pathway.

Fantastic experience: Whole heartedly recommend this entire experience as an incredibly anxious individual learning to drive!! The in class portion taught me so much, Suzie was a wonderful instructor and I absorbed so much info, it helped to start build up my confidence. She brought a nice sense of humor to things, which I appreciated. My in-car instructor was Hunter and I am BEYOND THANKFUL for her!! Despite gaining knowledge in class, behind the wheel, I struggled with feeling any confidence, even when I was doing good. Learning to drive (at 34), isn't something I ever thought I'd be able to do, I'd almost written it off. I told Hunter how anxious I was and how little confidence I had the first time we met, and she was nothing but compassionate, patient, understanding and kind. I instantly felt my anxiety ease away and the genuine support and excitement she showed when I finally mastered techniques, or finally felt the confidence I was lacking so bad, is a feeling ill never forget. Thank you Hunter for giving me a safe space to learn and for me to be brutally honest about how badly I was struggling believing I was capable. Look at me now Thank you a million times over!!!

I highly recommend everyone take a couple lessons to enhance their driving skills. There is a lot more to driving correctly than most drivers seem to be aware. Fantastic experience: This course was rather straightforward and easy to understand. I had paid for and registered everything myself and had no difficulties in doing so. It was quick and simple. More lessons are scheduled on the first driver's lesson in advance so you can plan accordingly and make sure you've practiced within the timeframe set. I'm very pleased with the outcome and I'm glad to learn from experienced and well articulated individuals. Thank you very much for how well run this program is.

Fantastic experience: There was not one time where I was displeased with the course I took through Gear Up. Though I had a difficult time during my lessons, she was always ready to adapt to any difficulties or obstacles that cropped up during our lessons. You can tell she values each of her students, she made sure I knew everything I was doing great at, but didn't forget to remind me when I was making mistakes. At the beginning of my driving lessons, I was hesitant and might I say a poor driver. Today, after completing my final lesson I can confidently say that I am such a better driver than when I started. Every single piece of road rule and driving technique has been thoroughly covered, ensuring that I am not only a competent driver but also a responsible one. I would wholeheartedly recommend Gear Up and Suzanne to anyone looking to not only pass their driving test but to become a skilled, responsible, and confident driver. Thank you for this incredible journey of self-improvement and road safety awareness!

Negative experience: If I could give it 0 stars I would. I’ve never experienced a worst customer service experience. Suzanne is EXTREMELY rude and unprofessional. Most of the things that come out of her mouth is swearing and rude remarks. The in person driving was very stressful as well because the instructor I had was not nice. My friends have had similar experiences such as one of their instructors calling them a “ret*rd.” Please don’t waste your money here like I did.

Fantastic experience: Hello, I am a 32 year old women that is in the process of getting her license. I had sign up for the program in march and I was very nervous about being older in the teenager class. On the first day of class Susanne made me feel very welcome and understanding about my situation and worked with me amazingly. She is an amazing teacher and I learned so much and had a lot of fun in the class room. Once it came to taking my I car lessons and me having a full time job she work around my schedule. It was amazing to get to know her. I learn everything I needed for my g1 in class. Taking the in car lesson she taught me everything I needed to know all the way up to my full G. I definitely got my moneys worth and I will be sighing my son up next year. I know that he will have an amazing experience as well as learn everything he needs to know. The one thing I can say that I really appreciate as being a parent she takes on very student she teach as her own. She gives us her personal phone number that way if u are ever out drinking and don’t have a ride or money to take a cab she tells us to call her and if she can’t come get us personally she will pay for a cab. I don’t care what anyone says you will never find another business that cares about their customers or students the way she does. So if u want ur child to be taught the rules of the road and be prepared for anything this is the school for you! NO MATTER what age you are! So here is my chance to say thank you Susanne for EVERYTHING you have done for me and taught me I appreciated the experience and everything I learned.

Negative experience: On April 12th I signed my son up to take Driver Education with GearUp driving school in St Thomas. I received no receipt, nor email to confirm signing up. Day of class sent an email, requesting a phone call. Only short email was received an hour later stating to meet Suzanne at the office. I proceeded to call Suzanne wondering what was going on. Suzanne proceeded to tell me that my daughter could come any time to join the class. I told Suzanne very clearly that I do not have a daughter. Suzanne's response was, "Whatever, your student", 5 times that Suzanne referred to my child as feminine, each time corrected, each time same response from Suzanne. Suzanne has never met my son, not once did Suzanne recognize masculinity of my child. Suzanne was rude, disrespectful and very poor business sense. Hopefully MTO will review the practices of GearUp Driver Education and Suzanne as the communicator/believed to be owner.

Negative experience: Pathetic customer service. Called here few days back requiring information, no call back, no meaasage back from the office.

Negative experience: This is a horrible place to take drivers ed such a poor learning environment and the instructor Suzie uses the F word during the whole course, pathetic and not worth your money do not send your kids here.

Fantastic experience: If I could give 6 stars I would Zee was my driving instructor and he taught me everything to needed to know about driving safe and making the correct decisions on the road. I highly recommend Zee being other peoples driving instructor. And in class Suzanne is the best teacher for it my days always went by soo fast cause of her she is always energetic and holding a smile on her face all the the best to gear up academy I passed my first try for my g2 thank you guys

Fantastic experience: Suzie was awesome during the in-class. All the information that one has to know with regards driving are all covered. For my in-car training, I had Vivian as my instructor and she is beyond awesome. She went way beyond and even did overtime just so I will practice my driving just before my road test. I passed the G2 road test during my first take and that was because of her patience and clear demonstration of the safety and how to’s of driving. Thank you

Negative experience: The 20 hours at the building were fine, that's pretty regulated. What was unacceptable was the overall experience with the in car sessions. Not only did she take almost a YEAR to complete the sessions with me, but her communication and teaching was at many times contradictory and confusing, which was very frustrating and not helpful at all.

Fantastic experience: I got my G2 license today I would say I'm so proud that I learned a lot in this school. I'm grateful to have a wonderful and amazing driving instructor, Ms. Suzie who taught me everything i need to know. Negative experience: I would not take a lesson from these people based on my experience with one of their cars in St. Thomas last night. We have were stopped at a light and the Gear Up car was turning left. We were pointed north and as soon as the east/west light turned red, and though our light was still red, the Gear Up car advanced through the crosswalk and began turning before our light turned green.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed my G1 Exit Exam and my experience has been nothing but fantastic with Geared Up. The in-class portion is both engaging and informative and I found that those 20 hrs went by really quickly. I had Hunter as my driving instructor for the in-car portion and she is amazing! She's really accommodating if you have school or busy with work and she makes the in-car a positive experience. If you are a nervous novice driver, she's a definite must for the in-car. And for those wondering, I passed on the first go! I highly recommend giving Geared Up a try!

Fantastic experience: BEST PLACE TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. Classes are awesome. Suzanne does an amazing job teaching. She uses different teaching strategies such as films, reading, writing, group work, etc., everyone is always involved! I drove with her daughter Hunter. Hunter was the best... such a good drivers instructor! She made me into a great driver. Hunter and Suzanne give a lot of instruction, and they are beyond supportive! If you don’t get something the first time, they will try different strategies with you. I recommend Gear Up to anyone looking to get their licence through DriversED!

Negative experience: Tried a couple of times to ask questions about their driving classes, once in person and once over the phone,. Both times we were told to just look at the website.
