Negative experience: I am not sure which of your instructors is driving Ford Escape older model, but this idiot rips through Home Depot's lumber loading zone because cars in front of him were moving too slow through parking's speed bumps !!! IS THAT HOW YOU TEACH YOUR STUDENTS HOW TO DRIVE ???

Fantastic experience: Communication and sign-up was very efficient. Young family member (16m) just successfully completed his two-day classroom training and the driver road training. He went from very nervous to happy and confident. Started reminding the adults in his family of the rules of the road.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely recommend!, My instructor Vern was totally on the ball with me, and kept the ball rolling. Did two days of driving lessons and passed my drivers test with flying colors. Thx Skillz!

Positive experience: My son did the course over 6 days straight recently. Four days out driving 2.5 hours with Vern and then two days in class. My son really enjoyed his time out driving. He loved his instructor and looked forward to his time going out and driving. He was so confident after his sessions ended. Great communication from his instructor. He didn’t enjoy the in class portion as much as he didn’t feel he learned very much and said it felt a little disorganized (only reason I’m giving 4 stars). He took his driving test the following Friday and passed with flying colours. I would recommend these sessions to anyone with a new young driver. It was worth it.

Fantastic experience: You learn a lot throughout the in class and on road sections. My driving instructor Ross was very experienced with safety and the rules of the road along with being very kind and funny making the road section more enjoyable.

Fantastic experience: Skills driving school is amazing! I went into driving school with very minimal skills but Linda helped me build confidence. I passed my test today and it wouldn’t be without Skills. Thank you Linda and everyone at Skills Driving school.

Positive experience: I rated Skills as a four only because the in class instructor Linda was all over the place with her teaching, giving the class extra breaks, extended lunches, delayed class time, got off topic alot, when that's not what we were there to do. We were there to learn and she was very unorganized. As for my driving instructor Audra, she was absolutely fabulous,extremely helpful, very patient. She helped me overcome my fear and gave me full confidence as a driver to feel safe and ready to drive. I highly recommend Audra as a driving instructor especially for those who are nervous.

Fantastic experience: My "Nervous Nelly" daughter took driving lessons through Skills and she had a very knowledgable, kind, and patient instructor (Audra). My daughter passed her road test first try and she likes to tell me where *my* driving skills are lacking! We have a second learner driver who will register with Skills in the next few months. Also, prior to registering my oldest child, I had several questions. I had my questions answered promptly. Thank you, everyone at Skills Driving School!

Fantastic experience: Skills Driving School really helped me a lot and prepared me to be a better driver. The in classroom was so much fun Linda is a good instructor kudos to her and the stories that she shared with us because that helps me a lot and to anyone who actually wants to be on the road. Negative experience: We did the 2 days in the classroom and the 2 days of driving. The first day in the classroom was just a bunch of stories about drunk driving, while this is important, it took away from learning other important facts on driving. As for the driving, the instructor was absolutely lovely, however, I feel very little skills were learned. They gave my child an 80% pass, however when they went to do the driving test, failed twice. Now driving with them, I realized that they did not learn a thing. It is like starting from square one, but now I am approximately $1k in the hole. I wanted someone else to teach them so they learned how to do things right, and to not learn the bad habits, but they didn't learn much at all. Simple things like, who has the right of way at a 4 way, at a green light, at a turning light, when lights are flashing, etc. They are asking me question after question for things I felt like they should have learned. I get that they may not be able to retain everything, but I feel like they did not learn much at all. Very disappointed!! *** Thank you for responding. I did appreciate our conversation the other day, but it still does not take away the fact that my daughter does not know what she is supposed to do when she comes to a set of lights or to a 4 way stop. She did a lot of neighborhood driving, but not around the town, through intersections. To drive 2-3 hours after each 1 hour lesson is a bit crazy (that is 45-60 hours of driving!) I could have spent that amount of time teaching her myself, and not wasted nearly $700. I wanted her to learn by a professional, and not pick up bad habits from me, but I am one one now teaching her anyhow. She stands by her statement that the first day was stories and extended breaks and leaving early. During our conversation I asked if you could send her the information needed to study and go through it all again, but nobody sent anything. I am sure you normally do a great job and have a lot of success, unfortunately, that was not our experience. Wishing you all of the best.

Fantastic experience: Skills is a great thing to do if you’re learning to drive. Ross is a great teacher and is very passionate and understanding about safe driving. He was always patient with me, and is very knowledgeable about road safety. Thank you to Ross for teaching me how to be a safe and conscientious driver

Positive experience: Update: I was able to discuss my concerns with Linda, and felt she heard them & took them seriously. I believe Skills is striving to do a great job with drivers ed in Okotoks. Amending my review to a 4*. Disappointing experience. No issues with the classroom portion, however the in car did NOT adequately prepare our son for his road test. His instructor was friendly and outgoing, but unfortunately busy doing other things during in car training sessions like chatting on the phone. Our son failed his first road test for tiny technicalities that were not told to him during training. We will not be using Skills for our daughter’s near future training.

Fantastic experience: Had the opportunity back in April to attend skills driving program with Zia. In fact me (19) and my sister (20) both had him as our instructor. With very little driving skills myself, Zia was able to teach me the skills of driving and build my confidence emensley! My sister and I both passed our drivers exam on the first go :) Thank you very much Zia for all the guidance. Forever thankful I signed up for the course, and think about it when I'm driving behind the wheel each day. Thanks Skills!

Fantastic experience: Skills helped me build my driving confidence. They were either on time or early to pick me up for each lesson and were always calm when it came to criticism or tips. I booked a refresher right before my road test and got it first try. They were with me until the end and I now know the proper way to drive. I would 100% recommend taking drivers education with skills and the extra refresher before the road test. Thank you skills for helping me become a better and safer driver.

Positive experience: Skills Driving School made me a much more educated and competent driver. The classroom lessons were well-presented and thorough. The in-vehicle lessons with Zia were valuable in becoming a better driver. He knows what he is doing, and taught the lessons firmly but well.

Fantastic experience: My son recently completed his driving and classroom portion of his training through Skills Driving School! I am so thoroughly impressed with the experience we had. Great communication, very accommodating with our hockey schedule and so positive with every interaction -phone calls, emails, etc. Linda and Vern went above and beyond and I would recommend them 100%.

Fantastic experience: Skills Driving School is amzing. I felt comfortable learning, the instructions were not hard to follow. In the begininng I was nervous I had been holding out on getting my license for a really long time because I was afraid to be on the road. but after taking a few on-road lessons I now feel alot comfortable and not nevous when I'm driving. Before I even took my lessons with skills I was just watching youtube videos on how to drive and that did not ease my nerves at all. just made everything more confusing and scary to me. It Probably didn't help that I was also watching driving exam fail videos either. But anyway enough of me ramblin, I just want to say thanks to Skills Driving School because after a millennia I now finally have my license!!! The teachers I had were Audra and Cindy both are amazing instructors. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with them. The in car lessons were informative and the tips for executing skills were very helpful. The in class time was also educational. Having somebody who also has experience executing the concepts in the textbooks made the classroom time much more enjoyable. Worth every cent and I doubt I would have passed the road test without the program!

Fantastic experience: I just finished my 4 days of in-vehicle training, to get my Class 5 license! My experience with Skills was overwhelmingly positive, and I got so much out of my time with Susan. She was kind, patient, and compassionate. Her gentle reminders and helpful tips calmed all the nerves I had beforehand. I feel 100 times more confident than I ever have in a vehicle, and I feel extremely prepared for what to expect on my road test. He was a great driving instructor, his kindness and humour made my anxiety go down and I was able to relax. I have gained so much more confidence on the road... I passed my driver's test on the first try! Linda was a great in class instructor as well and was very direct and made things easy to understand. We had a lot of fun and laughs in her class as well. I appreciate how very seriously the instructors at Skills Driving take their job and the rules of the road. I know I am a confident and responsible driver thanks to what I learned through them. Fantastic experience: The classroom instructors and driving instructors are very professional and are clear. The way they educate makes you feel very confident because they tell you what you are doing wrong when you are driving and they correct you right away. I had the pleasure of having Melinda Proctor as my classroom instructor and Zia Muhammad as my driving instructor. Melinda made it clear that to be a good driver you need the knowledge not the experience and you will realize that she is right. I came into the course thinking that i was doing everything right because my dad taught me how to drive, I quickly realize he was wrong in some parts and that improved my knowledge and skill. The classroom part really compliments the actual driving lessons because you take what you learned and put it to the test. My instructor Zia was very clear with the instructions and made sure I had the full knowledge and skills to be able to drive. At the end they both make sure you understand the importance of drivers ed and I am pleased with the service provided. Most important part is that they also make sure you have fun. Thank you Melinda and Zia hope skills expands so that everyone can learn how to safely drive.

Fantastic experience: I just completed my 4 day course with Skills Driving School and was very impressed with what I got out of it! I came in with little confidence in myself while behind the wheel and within a matter of days I feel completely ready to take my driving exam and feel comfortable with the thought of driving without help. I am now confident enough in my driving that I would feel safe and content in my skills driving alone to and from work. Prior to taking this course I could not have honestly said that. The driving instructor I had was a very nice woman named Cindy who quickly acclimated to my skill level and treated me kindly regardless of mistakes. While I would say I was one of her more advanced students, I can honestly say that she wouldn't have treated me any differently if I had never driven before and had made a million mistakes. Her conversation with me in the car helped me acclimate to a slight distraction while driving and also told me she felt comfortable and confident in me. I know that if I was a new driver she wouldn't have conversed with me as much, due to a dire need to heavily focus, but after she took note of my skill level she challenged the more intricate things with me, such as the slight distraction of conversation going on in the car, a very realistic expectation of what you will get while driving with passengers. Overall, my experience with Cindy was extremely positive and has made me a much better driver than I've ever been!!!

Fantastic experience: We booked our Daughter on this course. She was very reluctant at first but after her first lesson with Sandhu she came back with a big smile on her face. Sandhu is very professional and soon put her at ease, she loved his jokes and could not wait for her next lesson. After her four 21/2 hour lessons she was ready to take her test. Fantastic experience: My instructor was Vern! He is an extremely patient, funny and informative man and made driving a breeze. I lacked a lot of driving confidence when I first started my lessons but thanks to Vern I am much more confident and even passed my drivers test today!! He also helps a lot with explaining the rules of the road and applies those rules to the driving situation you are in so then you get a great understanding of what makes a good, safe driver. I highly recommend skills driving school If you are looking for somewhere to take your Drivers Ed course. The staff at skills driving school are exceptional and you can tell they have a great passion for their job. They have always been so helpful with arranging lessons during these hard times. Fantastic experience: At first, I wasn’t really sure about enrolling at Skills due to the expense. My instructor (Sandhu, Sarabjot Singh) was really awesome! His patience was so high that he would let me commit an error first, and then calmly correct me afterwards. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and taught me a lot of driving tips that I never knew before. His technique of teaching really worked for me. I highly recommend Sandhu and Skills as a good investment in your driving future.

Fantastic experience: My daughter took her drivers training through Skills with Linda Proctor in December of 2018. Skills was well worth the money and time. The in class training filled in so many gaps that we as parents had left in her training. I can’t imagine sending my teen out onto the roads with out this. My daughter really enjoyed the in vehicle sessions. Linda was always on time to start the lesson. She made it fun, and there was not more yelling in the car. It really is her calling to make astute drivers out of her students. My daughter passed her road test on the first try! The customer service with skills was also excellent. Linda always responded to my many questions and scheduling changes in a very timely manner. . My other children will most definitely be taking drivers training with skills in the upcoming years.
