Negative experience: I called and asked for a class 1 Code R removal and the receptionist said she’s never heard of that before and rudely hanged up the phone. I wouldn’t recommend this school.

Fantastic experience: My personal experience with ETT - I just passed my Class 1 road test after completing the MELT Class 1 program provided by Edmonton Truck Training. (Class April 2024) I also did my Air Brake Endorsement course through them in 2023. Instructors - This is a top notch school, all the instructors are patient, knowledgeable and easy to work with. Each has strengths and weaknesses like any diverse group of people, but together they provide GREAT top to bottom training for newcomers and more experienced folks alike. Special shout out to Jay, Sam and Andre for their attentiveness and guidance throughout the process, as well as Anjun for scheduling everything in without any hiccups. Some things about the school - Trucks are well maintained, clean and are essentially the perfect student driver truck. Classroom environment is well equipped with visual aids and is also kept clean. They even provide a little coffee machine as well. My place of employment has put 3 people through class 1 MELT via ETT, and one through class 3. We all highly recommend Edmonton Truck Training for your truck training/testing needs! Thanks again ETT team, see you on the road!

Fantastic experience: Just want to say you can't go wrong getting your license through this company. Jay, Sam, Phil and the rest of the trainers are exceptional, knowledgeable and well prepared. They are able to work with a driver of any skill level and make sure they are capable of learning what is needed to obtain your license. I would not hesitate to recommend this training school to anyone.

Negative experience: I took my Class 1 a year ago and I am very disappointed with the experience I had. I came to this course to learn and when I made a mistake I felt penalized and spoken down to instead of receiving advice on how to correct my mistakes. I felt very degraded and spoken down to when I made mistakes by some instructors. I was even told that maybe trucking was not for me and to maybe pursue something else, which was very defeating to hear and broke my self confidence. I feel like the instructors should be more encouraging. Instead I felt discouraged and mistreated.

Fantastic experience: Great school overall, especially if you want to learn manual transmission. Great trucks, spacious yard, great instructors. 10/10. Quality of education is clearly a top priority here.

Fantastic experience: Great school, great owner and instructors! Class began mid January and I easily passed my road test from first try on February 23, about 5 weeks total. All instructors are experienced drivers who not only prepared me for the road test but taught many real life driving tips. My class was in winter and some days it was cold at -30, but when I came for driving in the morning trucks were already warmed up and ready for driving. The trucks are in perfect condition, clean inside and out and well maintained. Thanks to Christine, Sam, Phil, Jatinder, Anju and especially to Jay for the great experience getting Class 1 license!

Fantastic experience: As a class 3 driver, I have not been behind the wheel in 4 years. I needed an hour of retraining to get behind the wheel and calm my nerves for a new job. Jay was my instructor. He was informative, patient, knowledgeable and supportive. He eased my nerves and knew when to guide me in a safe manor. 10/10 I would absolutely come back in the future if I ever needed training or if I upgrade to a class 1. He has many years of experience and is great at what he does. Fantastic business.

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with my training. I applied to get my class 1 with a grant called driving back to work Alberta while I was unemployed. I got assigned to this school for my training. Although I didn't have a say in where I went, I do not have any complaints about the school or the instructors. They have good equipment to work with. I was pleasantly surprised that I had no delays due to equipment, even though I did my course over a 3 week period of -30 to -45, which makes it difficult for diesel engines to function properly. Jay, the owner, would always arrive early to have the trucks started and warmed up for training. They worked around everyone's schedule and was very open to working with all the students. Every student I talked to had only positive things to say, which is rare considering people are normally hard to please. All the instructors that I had were very knowledgeable and open to explaining all my questions. I got my license done with air brakes in under 6 weeks. I passed my class 1 road test on my first attempt. When starting out I was not even able to shift a truck manual transmission, as it is very different from the manual transmission in my car. The best thing they taught me was the confidence in getting behind the wheel and operating a Class 1 vehicle safely. I would highly recommend anyone interested in entering the industry to at the very least check them out. I landed a Class 1 job under a week from receiving my license. If you are serious about getting you CDL and are willing to do the work, you will be successful attending this school. Thank you very much for all you have done to help me succeed.

The team is fantastic and amazing!Anju, Phil, Jaz, Sam and Jay where very professional and helpful specially to student like me who do not have any background in this trucking Industry and really started to zero. They are very approachable and flexible on your own schedule. Started my training October 2 and was able to finish everything yesterday November 18. Yes, with the help , guidance and supervision of ETT instructors I manage to obtain all necessary requirements very quickly by giving me proper knowledge needed to secure all knowledge test and road test in just 1 take! Fantastic experience: My personal goal was to have the skill sets to safely and confidently drive trucks on hard city maneuvers or OTR long haul when I will be alone. I will not sugar coat, it was at times confusing, frustrating and hard for me. Fortunately Jay and his dad, Phil, Sam and Arjay were very patient and guided me through. After completing my air brake course and M.E.L.T program at this school, I was successful in passing all my exams as well as achieving my class1 license ( 1st attempt). Fantastic experience: In Edmonton it's the best school 100%!!!! When business owner love what he's doing! In December I failed my Class 3 (didn't apply airbrake and left truck) totally my fault. I listened the stories of all instructors and got inspiration from Jay (school owner) to get class 1 license. My studies was so interesting.  I am Ukrainian who never involved into the trucking industry.  I was able to learn all parts and functions! He and his assistants Harjit and Anju are very committed to your success. Jay teaches the MELT course in a very thorough and organized manner. He has spent many hours creating his own content to supplement the Alberta curriculum. You will not find a more detailed and comprehensive course from any other school. Jay's class sizes are small, and he will give you all the attention that you need in order to be sure you understand everything, every step of the way. Jay has been instructing and driving for many years. He is patient, focused and always willing to answer any questions you have. He offers his knowledge, experience and insight to work with you on a personal level. Your success in his school is something that he takes very personally and he is determined so see every student succeed. Harjit is a very experienced truck driver, who is more than willing to teach you the tricks that he spent years learning on his own. He is focused, patient and attentive. He very quickly develops a training strategy that is personalized to your learning style. You will be given a chance to drive all over the city, including downtown Edmonton during rush hour traffic. You will not just drive in the local neighborhood. He will push you to your limits everyday allowing you to maximize your newly learned skills and put them to use in practical applications. He is kind, funny and very likable. Anju is very polite, organized and professional. She is very accommodating and will always do her best to fill your requests and lessons to your preferred schedule. The school is open seven days a week, so there is lots of room for flexibility. She communicates by text message and always reminds you the day before of your next drive lesson time. She always responds very quickly to any messages that you send to her. She handles all that is necessary in regards to booking road tests and filing the proper paperwork. And she will make sure that you have everything in order so that you are prepared for your road test. All yard lessons are done in small groups of four or less and the majority of your yard lessons are done on a one to one basis. You will never be booked for road lessons with another student. All road lessons are taught by Jay and Harjit, and their method of instruction compliments each other very well. They strive to teach in a very similar style, and their patients and demeanor are incredible. They do not get excited on the road and will not stress you out. They focus on your driving and on the road, and very much "have your back"! There is much to focus on as you are learning to drive a tractor and trailer, and you may find that you will be so focused that you may forget some basic class 5 road skills. They will make sure that you don't forget! They will keep everyone safe! You will enjoy every minute of your road hours driving with both of these fine gentlemen. I am so very happy that I chose to get my class 1 license through the folks at Edmonton Truck Training. Fantastic experience: I'm probably 25th person in the raw who just passed road test successfully with assistance of those guys: Jay - owner and senior instructor, Harjit - the best instructor, who will teach any person how to drive a truck, and Anjou - office assistant, which assistance will always help you to be in time. I came from other truck driving school almost with 0 skills, never have any experience of driving a truck, and in 3 weeks they gave me enough training to have confidence and knowledge how to drive, maneuver, back up and park a huge 53ft trailer. You are the best!!! Will recomend to everybody!!! Really the best truck driving school!!!

Fantastic experience: Truly an excellent school with a great learning environment. Both Jay and Harjit are marvellous devoted instructors and their teaching styles compliment one another very well. They happily answered all of my questions during the Class 1 MELT program and believe me, I had a lot of questions. I think one of the best aspects of this school is the driving confidence that they developed in me. The instructors were always patient and thorough, taking their time to explain and show things and work with me on any part of driving that I found challenging. Fantastic experience: When I was looking for a school to do my class 1, I naturally looked up the reviews. When I looked at ETT I saw lots of positive feedback so I decided to take a chance. It turns out everything good that was said about them was spot on. The owner Jay obviously has a ton of integrity and genuinely cares about his students. He was thorough and patient and let me learn at my own pace. Harjit was a solid instructor as well, with tons of experience and gave me all the confidence I needed to be successful. Fantastic experience: Did my Class 1 M.E.L.T training with this school, Jay and his instructor's know eveything about trucking. Very patient and descriptive while training. Honestly the time spent with them made me feel even more confident in my driving. Don't get thrown off when you arrive & find yourself looking around for the office thats on the second floor. This is a smaller traning school that has good attention to detail. 5 star rating for me.

Fantastic experience: If you're thinking of getting training in this field, ETT is the place you want to take it. I started out taking my full day air brake course on Sunday with Harjit and he was a great instructor, thanks Harijt! He covered all the important information I needed to know and I passed my practical exam that day with no issues. There is lots of hands on in the course as well which is helpful when you're learning something like this. I spoke to both Harjit and Jay about what my next steps should be, they were honest and straightforward and because I'd had prior experience in trucks, they didn't try to oversell me on my training. I was back that week for 4 hours of driving in the yard/on the road and I did my road test the following Sunday and passed. Jay is so busy but he always got me in when I asked, I was very appreciative he was always able to accommodate my schedule. Start to finish I was only there one week! Jay's equipment is in great shape and he is so knowledgeable, patient, relaxed and experienced, he is an amazing instructor. He made me feel very comfortable behind the wheel and had so many great tips and tricks to help me remember everything I needed to pass my exam. The school is in a great area of town for learning as well. You will not be disappointed if you choose to learn here! I am so thankful I chose ETT to take my training, Jay you're the best!

Fantastic experience: Jay has some great instructors and runs good equipment. You will leave here with the confidence required to start using your class 1 or 3. They have a flexible schedule and are interested to see you pass as there is no benefit to retraining you if you don’t pass on the first attempt of your road test.

Fantastic experience: Just wow, I came into Edmonton truck training with no experience or knowledge about trucks really. After my time with Jay I feel like an expert. Could not say enough good things about the air brakes course and the on road experience. If you need truck training look no further than Edmonton truck training!

Fantastic experience: Went to e.t.t. with a very busy schedule jay helped to work around that to get me driving his training was based upon my skill level and was patient/ very knowledgeable and after a few sessions with him I passed my class 1 road test with confidence hands down well worth it I would recommend these guys anyday thanks Jay keep up the good work
