He is a pretty strict instructor, but when it comes to driving, strict is good because there is very little room for error.

Negative experience: It's a terrible organisation. The management is unreachable, the customer support is useless and rude, it's impossible to get a refund. Yes, the drivers are mostly good, but everything else is insanely bad.

Negative experience: Hate to say it... not receiving the service i expected from YDoC. i expected, and chose, YDoC because I thought there was a larger corporate structure overseeing the franchises. Not the case... you are at the mercy of the branch you sign up with. Having trouble getting them to respond [after i've paid] and it's been weeks. fingers crossed this works itself out soon.

Fantastic experience: All 3 of my kids did the Young Drivers course and they all passed both their G2 and G confidentially. The instructors were very good and taught them well. I would definitely recommend Young Drivers to anyone needing to learn how to drive.

Negative experience: I will try to keep this as short as possible, my entire family used young drivers back in the day where, when you got your beginners, which is now G1. You would get your license within a 4 week period, to initially book was fast, easy and simple. I enrolled my daughter in early April 2024. Today’s date is August 8, 2024 and I’ve finally got some answers. She has been done her in car lessons for 18 days, the earliest they can schedule her road test is September 26, 2024, which puts us at 11 the month mark from receiving the G1. We were reassured that she would have her G2 by August. I understand that it is summer and it’s a busy season for these schools but I’m more disappointed in the customer service than anything. I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone from young drivers head office and have been totally unsuccessful. Customer service is absolutely terrible and it’s very hard getting ahold of an individual instead of an automated message. Do not spend $2400 for what you can get at $800 from comparative schools which give you the same services. I payed for the all in package where we use the instructors car and a lesson before the test which is amazing but come to find out today, her instructor has quit and there’s no backlash on him, but now this has prolonged her being able to get the G2. There’s been no reimbursement as now we can not use the instructors car. they have received my full payment four months back, I’m sure there will be no sort of compensation. I’m very disappointed and frustrated with how Young Drivers have not only handled this, but the situation as a whole.

Fantastic experience: I put off getting my drivers license until my mid 20’s, when I became a student of young drivers. Wow, I wish I hadn’t waited! Young drivers of Canada is the best, they eased my anxiety about driving and taught me so many amazing things about safe and defensive driving with their collision free approach to driving. I recommend young drivers of Canada to everyone! What an experience!

Negative experience: Online portion was okay. Actual in car instruction was a hot mess. His initial driving instructor was only available once every 6 or so weeks. Second driving instructor was better—she was shocked and suggested we asked for an additional lesson as some basic skills had not been taught. Tried to contact their office several times, left several messages and NEVER received a call back. His driving instructor said that was a common problem as she can never get hold of anyone either. She had already resigned and was just finishing her notice period.

Negative experience: The website and online portion of the driving course is very glitchy and shows inaccurate progression throughout the course. The poor quality of the online course caused me to lose half of the progress I made in the online material costing me several hours of work. Very frustrating and would not recommended.

The one thing I'm still uncertain about is how new students are meant to make their car straight with no reference points... but, it did come with practice. Looking forward to driving in the future!

Fantastic experience: I was a student at Young Drivers of Canada years ago and still use many of the techniques they taught me today. From different driving strategies, to maneuvering and putting safety first I feel like they helped me become a safe and confident driver. The in class portion was very informative and my instructor was very patient and engaging. I would recommend YD to anyone as I really believe they are the best driving school in Canada and follow the best steps to prepare new drivers for the road.

Negative experience: DO NOT USE. Driver was taking a ZOOM while teaching my son. I contacted the local office and was dismissed within 90 seconds. I have attempted to call their national office and no one calls back. I've emailed the so called President Adam and can't get a reply. YD takes your money, doesn't schedule classes and if you are lucky to get a lesson it's completely unsafe. Complete scam.

Negative experience: The new GM Adam is the worst. They don't care about instructors or students. Onece they got your money for the full package, the costumer service is the worst. If you are looking to work with them, run away, is many better driving schools out there. Never take a "lease " the car is never gonna be yours, doesn't matter what they said. They only want new students, they book you the first 3 lessons, and good luck trying to finish your lessons soon. The closer available dates are in 4 or 6 months. Waist of time and money. YD don't really is to valuable. Especially since Adam is the new GM.

Negative experience: I have recently begun the Young Driver’s online course with a student, as the in-class course at my local office has been paused due to Covid-19. Working through the online course material and navigating the Young Driver’s website has been an extremely frustrating experience and I am very dissatisfied with the quality of the website and e-learning portal. Some things I am experiencing are: (1) being logged out of my account, and having to re-login several times (this occurs every time a module or sections have been completed), (2) delayed loading times i.e. after pressing the [NEXT] button, the loading will take anywhere from 1-3 minutes, (3) when working on a module that has videos, the message “network failure” pops up, (4) not being able to navigate through the modules i.e. not being able to go back and review something I have completed, assessments freezing and having to log out and re-login etc. I have ensured that these issues are not my home internet connection OR the computer I am using (as I first checked these when experiencing issues and delays with the website and e-learning portal). There is a message stating that technical difficulties are occurring and that they are being worked on, however there is no expected time they will be resolved. I have contacted the technological support team, Young Driver’s office, as well as my local Young Driver’s branch and have been given zero assistance or reassurance that these issues will be resolved anytime in the near future. With the dependence on technology and online learning/courses during the age of Covid-19, it is completely unacceptable that the Young Driver’s online course continues to experience these technological issues, and are unable to resolve them in a timely fashion.

Negative experience: This company poses serious dangers to novice drivers and everyone else on our roads. I met with two of their recruiters who admitted they require instructors to teach their students to break laws, specifically, when it comes to speed. Section 128 of the H.T.A. is pretty clear on the rate of speed. When called out on this, they both became very aggressive and outright unprofessional. Absolutely unacceptable. As for your reply to my comment, I admire your attention to detail (or the lack thereof). If you actually read my comment, which is written in clear and concise enough language that even simpletons should understand, you would know I never once mentioned your curriculum. I only repeated what was conveyed to me by your recruiters. And the message was loud and clear - we expect our "instructors" to teach students to BREAK THE LAW. So according to your brilliant reply, you've been instructing novice drivers to break laws for over fifty years. And your company has ZERO knowledge of the Ontario H.T.A. (this stands for Highway Traffic Act ;)...) Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

Fantastic experience: An Amazing Driving School. They have their own curriculum that they teach with wether it is for in class or for in car. Amazing staff and instructors.
