Fantastic experience: Just got my AZ, first attempt, Hamilton campus! I am so glad I found this school. I live in Toronto, 1-2 hours away depending on traffic, and all of my friends were so skeptical about the location I picked. "Couldn't find anything closer" they said. Yes, and here's why: dozens of schools around me but none of them are the members of any of the trucking association. So does it mean that any other school is bad now? Not necessarily, but if you're the newbie like me and know nobody in the industry, having the AZ license with no experience is gonna bring you nowhere. You have to get your foot in the door somehow and Ontario Truck Driving School seems to be one of the solutions. Of course, nobody guarantees a job once you obtain the license, however when we were driving on the road or filling up the tanks at the truck stops, lots of truckers hauling steel, oil tankers were waving, honking to the instructors. You can not fake this. I saw it with my own eyes. And the guys coming up to us were like: "You are in good hands man, listen to what they say, I went to this school" So I believe I made a good choice. When I walked into their Hamilton office, Christopher and Stephanie welcomed me with their warm and positive energy. I could feel they're nice people. Very approachable and always pleasure to talk to. Always met me with sincere smiles. Then I met Abraham, who walked me through the program details. Very respectful and understanding gentleman. Answered all my questions. Scott, the Air Brake instructor, when I was in his class, I thought: wow, he really loves teaching. He was so passionate about the subject. Super interactive. I wish this world had more people like him. Although the program was super condensed (nothing to do with him, it's just the curriculum) he made boring stuff very interesting Same thing I can say about all other instructors: Sandra and Jean used to be the examiners at the drive test center. Sandra taught me how to back up. Ron and Val are the gentlemen with enormous driving experience. Ron shared his experience with shipping containers. Val gave some tips with long hauls around the US and Canada. Frank gave me an introduction to the manual transmission. The amount of patience he had with me on the manual is unbelievable. I drive manual daily, so I thought it's the same. little did I know... His sudden transitions from strict to a soft instructor in a split second to deescalate the tension inside the cab are one of the most memorable experiences. Well worth it. Jean is amazing: he is the combination of being strict and caring. Like everybody else. At first I was a bit worried I was assigned different instructor every other day, but then I quickly realized they are all strict, disciplined and professional, all of them are on the same level, but just different background. Alison, the online zoom instructor, she went through all the laws and regulations. Gave some interesting tips from her personal experience: "This is what we have in the book, but this is what you gonna see in real life" Amazing people! I am very glad I had the opportunity to learn from them! Thank you OTDS!

Fantastic experience: I just had the pleasure of doing my AZ course at this location at 505 Kenora Rd, I had the pleasure of dealing with the office staff and also the instructors they make you feel like part of the family, they also took the time to make sure that anything I was struggling with was clear and that I did understand it. Every instructor had different ways of teaching you specific things which makes it great to learn and helps retain the knowledge. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn the proper way of driving a truck or any kind of vehicle. I can 100% say they teach you the proper steps to successfully pass your road test (as long as you listen properly to what they have to teach you). Once again thank you so much for teaching me and helping me along my journey that helped me get my AZ

Fantastic experience: I took the F class license training course here and it was great! I received 10 hours of 1 on 1 instruction with a very knowledgeable instructor who was friendly and very patient with me. They also drove the vehicle to the drivetest center for me on the day of the test and I passed the test easily on my first try. They were very accommodating with scheduling. Great school!

Fantastic experience: I completed my D license in-truck training with OTDS this week and passed my road test with zero issues. The three trainers I worked with; Rich, Manish and Scott were all fantastic and easy to work with. Nothing but great things to say about this place and the staff that I met. Thanks again

Fantastic experience: I took my F Class lessons at the OTDS Welland location on Ridge Rd. and my instructor Steve W. was amazing! He really took his time with me and was very detailed in preparing me for my road test. He was very patient, calm and highly knowledgeable about the vehicle and what I would be tested on when it came time for my road test. I passed my F thanks to Steve!

Fantastic experience: After researching most of the trucking schools in the Hamilton area I chose to go with OTDS.. From day one, the office staff was very professional and the trainers are very knowledgeable.. I started my training with any previous experience whatsoever, within a short time I learnt all the practical and knoledge skills required to successfully pass my AR driving test.. Thanks to the amazing staff at OTDS.. I highly recommend this school

Fantastic experience: A big thanks to all the great people I met at the Hamilton location! They set me up perfectly for a pass at the Drive Test first time. I would like to extend my appreciation to the Program Director/Manager Abraham for always being present and ensuring things went smoothly. And the office staff - Christopher and Stephanie for being so cheerful and helpful, and knowing their stuff. The instructors were all fantastic. They all brought something else to the table and were extremely respectful. But necessarily tough too with constant drilling. So a big thanks to Scott (who also had the burden of teaching the Z endorcement classes), Jean, Frank, Sandra, Ron, Mario and finally Shannon who provided me with meaningful last minute advice just before my exam. Fantastic experience: I attended an Airbrake Endorsement course. Clean facility, ample parking, and close to main highways. Our instructor knew her stuff and was understanding in her approach. All in all, I would highly recommend Ontario Truck Driving School if your future has commercial driving in it. Well done!

Negative experience: After this school took $7,500 of my hard earned money, I completed the in class training course plus on road practice driving I did not get enough training on backing up with the trailer. By the end of my training, I requested to take my Class A road test in Guelph Ontario instead I was pressured to take my Class A road test in Hamilton. Upon arrival I had an uneasy feeling with the Examiner the moment I met him. As I was saying and doing my outside pre-trip inspection, I was getting told to move on before I could finish my sentences and finished performing my Exterior inspection test. The examiner was one of the rudest individual I have ever came across, I had a gut feeling I would not be going home with a Graduated Class A License my mind was exactly what I thought and knew would happened. I was then told by this school I had to pay a road test fee of $99 to redo the Class A road test, before they can rebooked my road test. After driving to the DMV drive test center to pay the fee, I provided a receipt of the fee my road test was never booked months past as it was the end of Summer it started getting colder outside Winter was on it's way and my road test was basically non-existent. My Class A License just expired in February, I now have to do the written knowledge test all over again it's like starting from scratch. I would never recommend enrolling into this school, they do not give you enough lessons on backing. They care more about the outside pre-trip inspection rather then actually training you on offset backing and 90 degree Alley dock backing. Save your money, find a school that properly trains their students how to back up and operate a Semi Truck. Don't waste your money on this school.

The best thing, instructors make learning fun and easy. Really thankful to "Stan, Frank, Ron". The management team is always quick to respond. Fantastic experience: Thank you OTDS for all your training. I did the Class A road test in a manual truck and passed on my first attempt. I would not have been able to do it without the instructors expert knowledge! They were all very helpful and patient through out the learning process. Fantastic experience: The staff at this truck school really know their stuff. As I was sent to this school to learn for work my time table was a bit cramped, but that's on my work place, not them. Really friendly and welcoming. would definitely recommend them for anyone looking for Air Brakes, Bus, D class or A class licenses. Fantastic experience: Had an absolutely great experience at ontario truck driving school. All the instructors are very knowledgeable and have years of experience and wisdoms to share with a new driver. Everyone in the office is super friendly and accommodating and made the experience smooth and as stress free as possible. If you do your part and put in the effort I don't see any reason why anyone would have any issues getting a license with otds. Definitely recommend for those interested in getting a commercial license. Thanks again for all your help!!

A feeling of accomplishment and confidence and pure joy. I truly looked forward to everyday I had a lesson with these instructors. Fantastic experience: I went to the Hamilton branch for my DZ training and I must say I have never had a better experience with any other drive test centre/ driving school. The staff at the Hamilton branch was so nice, professional and overall beyond helpful. They took the time to book extra training if i needed, and provided me with any material I needed in order to pass my DZ licence. 12/10 experience and would recommend for anyone needing training!!! In addition, I received my DZ on the first try!! Thank you guys!

Fantastic experience: An excellent driving school!! I completed my AZ training with otds and have nothing bad to say. They are great from the management and office staff to the instructors (i had all but 1 instructor and they were all great). They are very professional and really care about the successful completion of your training. They have a great team (ex drive test examiners and ex truck drivers with different backgrounds in the industry) that will work together and give you the knowledge, skills, and tips to pass your road test. Fantastic experience: I just finished my AZ plus course with OTDS in Niagara. I really enjoyed my time there and all the staff was amazing! The instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly. It’s really helpful to have multiple instructors giving different perspectives and sharing their personal experiences. The administrative team was really friendly and very accommodating. Thanks to Michelle for being so helpful. Most of my driving time was spent with Peter who really prepared me for my road test and was a great guy. Fantastic experience: Hamilton OTDS was incredible and I absolutely recommend anyone considering a license upgrade to come here. I did my Z on the weekend with Scott and he was a great teacher. Very good at answering questions thoroughly and making sure the content is understood. I did my AR with Stan, and he is a great teacher as well. He is very thorough very knowledgeable and knows how to keep things fun. I will gladly come back again to get my full A when I can.

Fantastic experience: I’ve passed the road test at the 1st attempt. As Abraham explained to me when I first visited them, they’re not cheapest but has best teaching materials and instructors. I saw lots of examinee from other schools at test center who couldn’t drive out from the test center. OTDS would not send any student to the test until they’re ready for it. Strongly recommend to all looking for good driving school for the commercial vehicle.

Fantastic experience: I just finished my AZ training last week. The instructors were all very professional, and I had a great experience learning from them. I appreciated the different perspectives that each instructor had from their own driving experiences, and the way each one would teach the same lesson from a different angle which I found helpful. I would highly recommend OTDS to anyone wanting to get their AZ driver training.

Fantastic experience: I did a refresher AR course with Gord. Found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful with relaying the changes made to the inspections portion of the daily pre trip requirement. Would highly recommend OTDS for their services if required. You have a satisfied customer here.

Fantastic experience: If you go into training with a serious mindset and a commitment to actively learn you will get so much from your otds instructors. I had Scott and Frank who both went above and beyond to provide me with all the knowledge and practical information I needed to not only pass, but to excel on my drive test. To anyone on the fence about attending driving courses with otds, I would say it’s a no-brainer, they will get you fully prepared for your road tests.

Fantastic experience: I needed an F-class license to drive an ambulance, but I could not pass the technical inspection part. I did not feel like failing the exam again, and I was not in a hurry to re-take the test. I drugged my feet for so long that I ran out of time. I had only a week to pass the driving test to apply for a job. I called OTDS, explained the situation, and they squeezed me into their busy schedule. After 2.5 hours of instructions, I took the driving test the next day, and I passed with flying colours. The examiner praised my knowledge and skills and said that she expected no less from an OTDS student. With the new license in hand, I applied for a job before the deadline. Everyone at OTDS, from the office administrator to the manager, did their best to help me, and the instructor was great. Thank you, OTDS!

Fantastic experience: Very happy with the program through OTDS. Needed my DZ for Firefighting operations and the 10 hour practical driving course plus the Z endorsement course fit the need perfectly. It also prepared me well for the ministry test!

Fantastic experience: It was difficult for me to pick the right school since I don’t know anything or anyone in the industry, but luckily I found OTDS Hamilton, then everything were so nice and smooth. Management was so nice and easy to talk to, they always trying to help you with your needs. Instructors are all highly knowledgeable and skilled people, also so easy to deal with. They don’t only teach the right stuff to help you get your license, but also teaching you what’s the real trucking world looks like. Really appreciate what I learned from them. I got my first trucking job on my first interview the same month I got my license. If you’re reading this review, stop searching, this is the right school for you I promise ;)

Fantastic experience: I have a big package thanks to the staff trainers, specially teacher Scott, teacher John, Ron, ect... All those teachers are wonderful about respect, courtesy, and comprehension, patience ect... With every students for an excellent cdl training.

They want to ensure you succeed and understand the materials before you are due for your road test. Fantastic experience: Choosing a School to get my AZ was a quite stressful ordeal as there are loads and loads of schools out there. Getting a AZ license is quite expensive now due to regulation and If you are skeptical like me, you assume all these schools just want your money. Abraham brought me in and explained the program and how they would schedule my classes to suit my hectic schedule. I felt good about this place so I enrolled. I fell behind in class because I bit off more than I could chew with my schedule and my inability to get studying done at home. OTDS offered me a few group sessions to help get me caught up and be ready for my drive test. I was really blown away that they cared more about my success than just making money. This is a hard thing to find at any school. I can't say enough about these guys, they will hammer the things you need to know into your brain until it sticks. I completed the program and got my License on the first try. I would recommend OTDS to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Originally I did my training in brantford and I failed my D test twice. But thankfully I came to the Hamilton location for training and passed my test on my 3rd attempt. I strongly recommend going with OTDS for any license, and they will train you exactly to the criteria that the drive test examiners are expecting of you as a commercial driver. The hardest part of the test is getting past your nerves and being confident in your skills! Be the best like Muhammed Ali as Dez told me! Fantastic experience: Great place to learn ! Called awhile back for some information about the AR schooling , since the schools in the Gta have zero respect for. The ladies in the office were first rate , arranging everything to fit my late day availability for lessons. Including the Drive Test appointment way earlier than I would have found in To. The instructors were awesome . They instilled in me a ton of info both in the classroom and on the road with trailer that is way heavier than i would used elsewhere. Big shout out to Dez and my big Welsh bro' Evan , for the support at the school and at Drive Test . This school is tops in the region , Well worth the drive from anywhere. Period .

Fantastic experience: Needed some help to get my DZ. I was provided a package that suited my needs. Awesome and knowledgeable instructors. Office staff most accommodating. They walked me through what I could expect for my road test and pretrip. I would not have been able to do this without them. I passed first try.

Negative experience: Place is a joke, If you're not successful your first time, OR IF YOUR LOOKING AT GOING TO THIS PLACE, SAVE YOUR MONEY Go to another school. I unfortunately did not pass the first time and had to wait 2 weeks to see how much it was to rent their bus to do the test again, I NEVER heard back from them or had a courtesy call to ask how I was doing or if I was going to take the course again ( PRIVATE CAREER COLLEGE, THATS HOW YOU MAKE MONEY) Go take a look at different schools for success in obtaining a commercial drivers license.

Fantastic experience: I am extremely satisfied with this school. They are truly there to help you and they want to watch you succeed. I would recommend this school to absolutely ANYONE. They took a woman who knew nothing about truck driving and turned her into a truck driver in a short amount of time. If you're looking for fair prices and outstanding instructors I would go to this school.
