Fantastic experience: Sanka was an excellent instructor, ensuring the safety of everyone in the car and teaching me all that I need to know about driving. There were very few time (less than 1%) of communication difficulty, but overall was very helpful in teaching what to do and what not to do as will as the consequence of what could occur if you made that mistake. Overall a great experience.

Negative experience: Sanka was a horrible instructor. I’ve had other instructors but Sanka was the worst by far. Any question you ask him, he immediately says, “I’m not here to argue with you.. !”.. And one time he yelled at me so loud, I was asking him if I should go or who has the right of way in this situation? No reply, then starts screaming his lungs out “OK GO”. I recommend he takes an anger management course. I wonder if the other reviews here are real.. if I wasn’t required to pay for the whole package beforehand, I would have never continued with this instructor. Avoid at all cost.

Fantastic experience: I passed my class 5 exam because of my instructor Sanka! If he can teach someone like me, he can teach anyone. I say this because I am not an easy student to teach. I lost confidence in myself after my failed exam attempt, and kept repeating my mistakes when nervous. Despite my little experience with driving, Sanka has been patient with me. On my first day with him, he listed all the skills I needed to work on. Subsequently, we practiced again and again until I mastered these skills. He also gave me additional resources intended to improve my weak points. I appreciated that he observed me carefully and tailored his instruction to my needs. If you are looking for a patient instructor who will accept you as you are and push you to be more confident with your driving, I highly recommend Sanka.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Sanka. My daughter FINALLY passed the road exam. She failed couple times before. My daughter told me Sanka is a better instructor than the previous instructor. Sanka's ability to give a clear instruction and explanation helped to address the areas she needs to pay attention to. As well, per my daughter, Sanka is a calm teacher which makes her less nervous. Lastly, Sanka's knowledge about the test route is a big plus. As a dad, I found much relieved now. Haha!!

Fantastic experience: Sanka is an amazing instructor. He is so patient and knows exactly where you are lagging. I previously had driving experience but it was right-hand-drive. After taking a couple of brush up lessons, he made me completely switch to left-hand. I passed the road test as well. He is a great teacher and takes genuine interest in his students.

Fantastic experience: Sanka is an excellent teacher! I had previous driving experience (right hand driving though) and took the 6 hour driving course to get more practice before my road test. Little did I know that there was so much more to learn about driving in Calgary. Sanka was always on time for pickup and made sure I spent as much time as possible behind the wheel. He was so patient and kept boosting my confidence even I would not believe myself. He gave me extremely valuable tips many of which came in handy during my Road test. As someone who had really bad driving anxiety, I prolonged getting my license for three years but with Sanka’s superior quality of instructions, his patience and his sense of humour, I was able to lessen my fear and try for my license :) He is a thorough professional who is kind and understanding. Shows up on time and tries to ease driving anxiety by constant motivation and patiently teaches you and tells you tips for the test which are immensely helpful. I would 100% recommend Sanka and 1010 driving school to anyone who’s beginning to drive and want to improve!!!

During our first driving lesson he assesed whatever driving skills and knowledge I had on the and used that as a guideline to help me develop for the rest of our lessons. After a couple lessons I was ready for the road test which I passed on the first try. Also has the option for the insurance reduction which helps.

Fantastic experience: If you are an inexperienced driver, I highly recommend the 1010 driving school lessons! I'm a brand new driver myself (started at the end of May) and my 5 lessons (2 hours each) with Sanka spanned from June 12th - June 20th. He made me feel confident while driving by going over all the rules and regulations and dedicating separate days to parallel and uphill/downhill parking and street light rules which gave me the opportunity to gradually learn everything. After my last lesson on the 20th, I immediately took the road test and passed within 15 minutes. Definitely ask for Sanka as an instructor if you plan on doing your lessons with this driving school!
