Fantastic experience: I had great experience with Hamad. Definitely recommend him. I've tried another instructor before and Hamad taught me much more in 20 minutes than other instructor in 2 hours. He is not wasting time at all. It worth much more than he asking. I have more confidence. Before i found him i failed twice. I believe I'll pass after his lessons. I know there are lot of good instructors but i didn't try all of them. All I'm saying is from those two persons i can give Hamad 10/10, while other one was 2/10. Even if we have language barriers because of my English he found the ways to teach.

Positive experience: I had a really mixed experience with this school. I am new to Canada, and have also had a long break from driving, so was mainly looking for a refresher to build my confidence, as well as some technical teaching on the rule differences between Canada and the UK (where I last drove). Arranging the lesson was efficient and the instructor was friendly and professional. The driving theory teaching was helpful, at the very start of the lesson, and we did cover a wide variety of the different road layouts in Calgary, which was great. He also said that I could message him after the lesson if I saw any road signs/markings or junctions on my walks about the city that we hadn't covered or that I didn't understand, and he would be happy to explain them. I thought this was a really great thing to offer. However, I'd specifically said that I was nervous about driving again after so long, and had requested a quiet time of day and quiet neighbourhoods so I could get used to moving a vehicle around, build some confidence, and adjust to driving an automatic vehicle (I've only ever driven manuals) and being on the other side of the road. I was told that the time didn't matter too much and the instructor would choose a suitable route/neighbourhood for practice. Unfortunately, I was incredibly stressed through the whole lesson, and it got worse rather than better as it went on. We were on main roads and the highway, coming into Calgary downtown during morning rush hour. The instructor also did some things which panicked me a fair bit - like trying to get me to set cruise control (which I've never used) while merging on to the highway but without actually explaining how it worked. He also kept guiding the wheel, so I ended the lesson paranoid about my spatial awareness and worried about scraping the nearside of a vehicle, even though he'd said I was a fine driver (which to my mind was a bit contradictory with his guiding the wheel on my behalf). Unfortunately, I now have even less confidence than before I took the lesson and haven't driven since (over six weeks) because I've been too nervous. So, probably quite a unique set of circumstances but I found it very stressful given I had asked quite specifically for a refresher to build confidence. I was especially disappointed because I'd really tried to emphasise my stress ahead of the lesson. I imagine the experience would be good if you already came in with a decent amount of confidence.

He also discusses weaknesses and strengths, and asks what you think you need practice with. I was taught how to drive in various settings including residential area, highway, and downtown. As a new driver, I would recommend driving with aspen.

Fantastic experience: After failing road test twice , i joined aspen driving academy for Class 5 Driving training . Hamad Alkabay taught me traffic rules which i was not aware even after taking 3 classes from previous training institute. Hamad is very experienced and patiently cleared all by doubts. Interesting part is he holds a reference book with illustrations about different scenarios which we may encounter during driving. Apart from that I didn't had proper understanding and confidence to make left turns at intersections before, and i had failed in my roadtest twice in the same matter. After my training from hamad i'm very confident to make left turn at intersections according to traffic rule. I'll recommend hamad to anyone who is looking for a good driving instructor in calgary.

Fantastic experience: I would like to leave an unbiased review of two driving lessons with Hamad Punctual (arrived early both times) The first lesson he explained the theory points clearly, gave us to repeat the rules before we moved on to practice. Hamad explains and shows by example how to do things. I left my headphones in his car, at the end of the day he brought them back to me, thank you very much for that! On the downside, I would say that both times I didn't feel in full control of the car as Hamad controlled the pedals and steering wheel. He also said that I was not ready for the road test and if I passed it would be (lucky shot) and it would be good to study longer and rescheduled my booked test. In the end I passed the test very well and my examiner praised me. Also, I don't think it's right to ask a client/student to leave a good review on google maps right in front of him My rating as an instructor is definitely 5 stars. Everyone has a different approach to work, and despite the disadvantages I mentioned above, Ahmad is a great teacher! I have a lot to compare it to! So if you want to learn how to ride and pass your test - I highly recommend it!
