Negative experience: $70 for an hr is ridiculous. The driver is very mean. Her tone is very condescending despite the fact that I’m an experienced driver she’s not patient a giving me random laws that I never heard about from my other driving instructors for ex. You can’t use your side mirrors when reversing out of a parking spot, and not to worry about the lines only reverse using the 80% rule. FYI she also takes pictures of the license of the driver which I guess is legal but I’m not comfortable with.

Fantastic experience: If others have let you down, Basic Driving School knows all the road rules and regulations and will not let you take your test unless you’re ready. Lots of patience and dedication. I got to practice and take the test in a new car. I took my G test at Toronto Port Union with confidence and got it. I had been driving for years abroad and it took a bit to transition to driving in Canada. Mallalai enforced what I already knew with a firm grasp on Ontario and MTO driving regulations. It’s tempting to go with All Star and the expensive Young Drivers with their “packages” which include a fixed amount of hours of practice. I got personalized lessons to my driving and learning needs as well as dedication and quality for my money with Basic Driving School.

Fantastic experience: Mallalai is a wonderful teacher. You can tell she's very passionate about driving and wants to make sure her students are very well-prepared and confident. I was a very nervous driver and she helped me work on my confidence and I was able to pass my G2! She's also very communicative and punctual. She encourages her students to learn in a way that works for them (for me, it was writing and drawing things out, which she helped me with). She's patient and encouraging, and I learned much more from her than my previous instructor.

Fantastic experience: Malallai is a great instructor who knows her stuff. I was to do a G test straight from a G1 and my instructor fell Ill and was unable to take me to the test. So I reached out to her and I must say, if I never met her I am pretty sure I would have failed my test. Fantastic experience: Mallalai is an excellent driving instructor. She is patient but thorough. She will point out little tips but also allow you the space to get comfortable and make mistakes then gently correct you. I was able to pass my G test in 1 try thanks to her instruction. She helped me overcome my initial fears and doubts about driving and although she can seem strict at first, she is in fact a very reassuring and caring instructor. Negative experience: First lesson and right off the bat she starts accusing me of not knowing how to drive ... isn't that the point of getting lessons? She repeated this quite a few times. Prior to this she rescheduled/changed times of the lesson twice yet was rude upon arrival. In the middle of a busy intersection she says "you are going to get us in an accident". I said excuse me, and she said that I'm too cautious, i will "never pass the test", and we will get in an accident. I had a close friend die in an accident, and with cars zooming past me this set me into such a panic (especially as a new driver!). I felt sick to my stomach and just wanted to leave the car. She tried blaming me saying I can't take direction, I don't have the confidence, I'm too sensitive. As someone who has been an extremely confident young woman all my life this truly baffles me - I was prepared to take a driving lesson and instead was met with pure arrogance. My Christmas Eve will not be ruined by her. Edit: It is clear from my experience and other reviews that this instructor lies. There is no point to even dispute the random lies she makes up in her responses. I hope she tries to better herself instead of making up random lies to make herself look better in reviews.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience getting my G2 with Mallalai. I had two attempts before with other instructors in Toronto,however, the third time I found out about Mallalai, took lessons from her, and that is when I passed. I found Mallalai very knowledge-able in driving. She was also very dedicated and punctual. She was able to point out my mistakes and bad habits that were preventing me from becoming a good, safe and confident driver. I also trust Mallalai's judgement and her honesty in her profession, as I wanted more lessons, but she told me that I was ready test and i passed. i will be seeking her services for G exam as well.

Fantastic experience: Malallai is the best teacher in Toronto, first of all before starting the classes I was thinking about the price but it’s completely worthit because you’ll learn quickly, if you don’t learn Malallai won’t be happy, she’ll get angry on you like your mother. I didn’t even have basic driving skills before starting 1 week back but today in 5 classes I got my g2 driving license. I recommend taking more number of classes to give Malallai enough time to teach you. I’m glad I made this decision.

She is very soft spoken and patient unlike many other driving instructors out there. Her car is always in pristine condition and smells fresh. Fantastic experience: Fantastic lessons from Ms Malallai! Where do I start about her? I was already a driver for 14 years but she really helped me adopt good driving practices such as looking far ahead, which made me tackle tricky lane changes, highway merging as well as winding roads. Can’t thank her enough! Also, she does, deservingly, charge higher rate per hour, but believe me, you end up learning 10 times more in that 1 hour, as opposed to 2 hours with someone else - so in real terms, you end up spending less with her in total. It’s not even about the money - if you want to really learn, learn it from her. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: There are many good things I have to mention here. The very first thing that impressed me was her calm and composed demeanor. I have always had driving instructors who were a little crack, but not her. Secondly, she shared the actual test sheet on which an individual is being evaluated for his/her driving, both G2 and G. None of the other instructors ever did that. And, she would not blabber unnecessarily as I would drive and was more focused on pointing out my mistakes as a driver. She would never be on calls or messages. She would simply disconnect any calls she would receive and paid a close attention to my driving. She is encouraging, supportive and cooperative as an instructor. She can be a an excellent motivational guru as times when someone feels down and less confident as a driver. Not to mention, the car she used was clean and well maintained unlike others. I would highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: I got Mallalai’s number from the MTO directory. At first when she told me her charges I felt too high but thought of taking atleast one lesson with her. After taking first lesson it all made sense to me that she is a perfect instructor. She will scold you, praise you, get upset but she needs everything to be perfect. Today I have my G2 and can drive confidently and by following all rules only because of her. I would recommend students to take classes from her. Excellent instructor.

Fantastic experience: I felt very comfortable taking driving lessons from Mallalai and was able to get through my G test first time only after taking few lessons. If you want to pass your road test and be a good and safe driver, do not have second thoughts in selecting Mallalai.

Positive experience: I talk to her one week before, asking to have my driving classes 1 or 2 days before my road test. She said ok. My test was on Wednesday, and we had two classes on Monday, and we were supposed to have two classes on Tuesday evening. She sent me a message on Tuesday morning saying that she could not give me classes... Where am I going to find someone now? Where is the responsibility? You cannot rely on her.

Negative experience: I chose to learn driving from her as she had some great reviews. I had also met her before when my husband had taken classes from her and once on a personal occasion. I found her to be rude on the phone when I first spoke to her but gave her benefit of doubt as she was very kind and friendly with me on one of the occasions when I had met her on a personal front. All her classes were overpriced but still I stuck with her as I thought she is a great instructor. Even in-class lessons were great and she was polite, but she started behaving very arrogantly during in-car lessons. She made my life miserable. Once I even got a panic attack at home while thinking about driving. She always answered rudely and made me cry on my fourth lesson. She spoke in a loud tone and made me feel excessively nervous while driving. I was stuck with her as I had paid her the money. I thought that the package includes the drive test (as all other schools include it) but she gave me the shock of my life when she told me that it's not included. It was my mistake that I trusted her initially and did not check her website before paying her the money. She re-scheduled the classes two to three times but when I asked her to re-schedule she told me that she is not available. Once I had a genuine reason and told her to cancel my lesson a night before but she said that she will count it as a lesson as I didn't give her 24 hours notice. She was never willing to make any adjustments and kept on asking for money in advance. I paid her always on time but she still wanted to know when I'm going to pay her the moment my extra lessons were about to start. Once, I paid her the full amount but forgot to transfer her $10, she screamed about it on phone. Truly disappointed by her behavior. I later on chose another trainer who taught me politely and I've got my G2. I'm writing this to let her know that her kind words would help me in learning fast. By being rude and arrogant you cannot teach people.

Fantastic experience: Mallalai is professional driving instructor, I passed my road test G2 on my first try. I went from not knowing how to drive at all to getting my license with confidence. She is patient and gives amazing techniques in order to teach you how to drive safely with confidence, and she is always on time for each class lesson.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous driving for the first time. Malallai however always made sure I was at ease, which perhaps the most important thing an instructor can do. She makes you realise all your fears of driving have nothing to do with a lack of ability, which helps immensely in boosting your confidence. For the in-car lesson, Malallai will teach you in a way you will understand! I learnt how to park within a lesson! She will prepare you for your driving test properly. Needless to say, I was very nervous, but thanks to Malallai’s calm and methodical approach I was able to relax and learn - even during rush hour on Victoria Park! Negative experience: Do not waste your money. Do not waste your money paying her $50.00 per lesson. She is extremely rude and difficult. If its not her way she gives you a hard time. She doesn't do anything exceptional than other instructors. You said I am a great driver. Honesty doesn't have to be expressed rudely. Honesty can be done in a humble way.

Negative experience: I chose this driving school because I read the best references. But, unfortunately my experience was one of the worst experience in my life. I took just one class and I couldn't wait for finishing it. The instructor was rude with me, impatient. She pointed out all of my mistakes and it is really good when the instructor knows how to say and how to help do not make mistakes again. I felt scared to ask her something, because she answered arrogantly. Instead I feel confident to do my exam, that behavior made me give up for now and get a better professional, who know how treat people. I really hope that bad experience was just with me. In add... Yes. My husband made a called for me. Was it the problem? Even though my English is not very good, I could understand perfectly how you were rude and no worries about my happiness and my English... I am studying hard in English school to get my English better.

Fantastic experience: I had absolutely no driving experience in India, and I have passed my driving behind the wheel test with confidence. Mallalai is the best driving tutor in Canada. In her driving sessions, she explains you about each and every small or big mistake you make, and tells you how to correct it. She brings you back to the same street or same situation and make sure we do not repeat those mistakes. Mallalai is an amazing instructor. I went from not knowing how to drive at all to getting my license with confidence. A very large part of the credit goes to the lessons I took from her. She is very organized, very *patient* and overall a great instructor that points out all the important driving points. She even took me on a really fun mountain drive to get better at steering and this was very useful in learning to stay in the lane. Would HIGHLY recommend Basic Driving School to anyone looking to learn. Awesome instructor, awesome lessons. Well worth the money.

When I first started with her, I was an extremely nervous and anxious driver but with just 3 lessons, she increased my skills and confidence to such a level that I started to enjoy driving! Fantastic experience: I needed to familiarize myself with local driving peculiarities after moving from Europe, so I had 2 lessons with Malallai. It paid off extremely well and I got my full G license after the first road test.
