Fantastic experience: My son just finished the driving lessons with Amit. He prepared him for the road test by letting him know what to focus on. My son passed the road test the first time with flying colours. My older son also took lessons a few years ago and passed the first time as well. Highly recommend Chinook Driving Academy.

He was really patient, helped build my confidence and i had a fun time learning from him. He was 10/10 The online insurance reduction course could be better. It’s very outdated, the information could use an update so does the platform they are using.

My daughter didn't have much driving experience, but Amit put her at ease and I could see her confidence and skill level grow after only one or two lessons. She took the basic course which was 10 hours driving plus 15 hours classroom time (which she did online) and she passed her driving test the first time!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Chinook driving school to anyone. I came across them online after I had failed five times with two different driving schools. I had BJ as my instructor, and he was very calm and patient. I told him I'm going for the six attempts. BJ is highly experienced and intelligent. Within 2 hours of brush up, he discovered the basic errors that have been making me fail my road test. I was so scared to go for the 6th test the following day. He worked with me, gave me some tips, and encouraged me. I'm grateful to BJ, I passed my class 5 yesterday with just 2 hours brush up with him after 5th attempts with 2 different driving schools.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend this driving school more! My instructor was BJ. I’m an adult student and quite the nervous nelly and he made me feel very safe learning to drive. After 7 lessons I felt comfortable on the road and was able to pass the test! His method of learning is great, he pays attention to all the small details of your driving and gives tips how to improve. He was also incredibly supportive throughout and went above and beyond to help me when needed. Thanks to him I finally have my licence!

Fantastic experience: I took my lessons from Mr. Amit and I did like his way of teaching because it was not like a instructor-learner method and more of a friend which was fun and he is a very jovial guy and his method sure creates an instant rapport which does inspire confidence in learning and clearing the road test with utmost positivity. The whole process of learning and taking the Class 5 license was over within a span of two weeks and all thanks to this wonderful person Mr.Amit for his support throughout the whole two weeks during the sessions as well as for my road tests especially for the encouragement & motivation.

He starts the first lesson by taking a brief 10 minute drive and evaluating where you are as a driver. After that he teaches you everything that you will need to know on your driving test. He is very patient and calm and will do everything to put you at ease for becoming a new independent driver. He specifically helped me for one full lesson on learning how to hill park and parallel which has made me become more confident in my driving skills. He makes you practice important maneuvers that are helpful for driving during your entire lifetime. He is very easy to get along with which is helpful when he is teaching skills that are of importance. He is super friendly and does everything possible to let you be a good driver. I would recommend his services to anybody who is learning to drive as he posses all the skills necessary to teach youth how to drive.

Fantastic experience: Went to Chinook Driving academy in 1977. I learned how to drive and became a professional driver near the end of my career. Still remember taking my road test in a Chinook owned 1976 AMC Hornet. My daughter will be learning to drive there this summer.

Positive experience: After taking the lessons, I pass my driving test right away, so I think that’s the important. But Earni as instructor was the most impatient person, he expected me to know how to drive ( why I would pay for lessons if I already know how to do it) and kept telling me all the time that I wouldn’t do it for my test ( very bad way to support your student) and that I need 3 more lessons after that…. Very rude person, but I had the pleasure to saw him and tell him that I made it in my first try on the test…. Change his method maybe

The instructor identified my weaknesses and worked on it with me until I got it correct. I would highly recommend Chinook Driving Academy.

Negative experience: Teachers do not teach new drivers how to drive correctly. Teaching them to stop two meters before the stop line at a red light is WRONG! The light doesn’t activate and leaves drivers behind stranded. Teach your new drivers WHERE THEIR WHEELS ARE!! This should be one of the foundation lessons. Terrible driving school!

Fantastic experience: 2 years ago I decided to take my driving classes with this school and I totally like the services, I learned all the possible skills to be an excellent driver. In addition, The instructor was very patience and all his explanations were very clear. This year I decided to come back for 2 hours brush up lessons to be ready for my road test and I got it !! Negative experience: Advised company no driving experience and that wanted to learn on a standard, as that was the car I had. Company said no problem, advised in car lessons were available according to my schedule and doing evening classes was not an issue. Completed online classes required to do in car lessons, and took one lesson, teacher took on BUSY MAIN roads after quick explanation. After class got a very unprofessional derogatory voicemail from teacher advising that I should not be driving. After discussions with company and an apology for extremely unprofessional voicemail, was given new instructor for one lesson, and they were great, but said could only do lessons occasionally as they had other jobs and were only in town a couple days a week, which did not work for my schedule. They had no other drivers available. After several weeks of emailing, was given a small partial refund, even though the online portion was useless as it was non-transferable to other companies. This company was not upfront about limited drivers being available, and their ability to teach beginners. (pre-covid experience, but people should be aware when comparing companies).
