Positive experience: I took Class 1 MELT paid for by DBTW. They assigned me AGP Truck Driving School. Eddie, Ricky and CJ know their stuff, are stern and fair instructors. They are reliable, show up on time, are generous with hours and will drill into you what you have to know for Class 1 road test. They will make sure and do whatever it takes for you to pass the Class 1 road test. Will start you on manual transmission but if it takes too long to master they will suggest you switch to automatic. Fantastic experience: Very positive experience. I took my Class 1 MELT program with AGP. Theory - the class I was in was a good size and was taught very well by Ricky (and the odd class by Eddy) at a good pace for everyone to follow (since the class had students with different ethnic/language backgrounds). We were able to ask questions and attain clear, simple answers. Even when someone didnt understand, they tried their best to break it down and make it as easy as possible to follow. They didnt bombard us with too much information and let us know which specific topics we 'need' to remember for written tests. As long as you listen, be attentive and ask questions, youll have no problem with the theory portion of the program (regardless of how 'clever' you are). I passed 1st the knowledge test 1st time. Practical - the school teaches both manual and auto transmission. This part of the program, especially if youre using learning, will test your patience. I found it difficult to learn (even as someone who can drive manual trans on cars) and the instructors can be hard on you for repeating mistakes (but you do have to realize repeated mistakes can put extra wear and tear on the machine and it isnt cheap to fix!). I mean, they were patient for sure but it is definitely a different ball game to driving manual in a semi vs manual in a car. I ended up switching over to auto and enjoyed driving a lot more. CJ, Eddy and Ricky taught the practical portion. At times they can be hard on a student and put some pressure on you, but its a good pressure in the way that it makes yu try harder and just better your driving skills. Communication was good (even if English isnt CJ or Eddy 1st language), easy to understand but just make sure you follow exactly what they say and dont 2nd guess anything! I took my practical test after 7 weeks of classes and passed on my 1st go! Thanks to AGP and the instructors, I am Class 1 (auto restricted) driver and am back at work. Id recommend this place even if you were to pay for the course on your own dime.

Negative experience: Went to the school spoke with Eddie, he told me he was going to call the week after to start the training but no call… I contact him and he said that was going to call me in the end of that same day… Until today haven’t got any call… This was in September.

If you are willing to get Class 1or any other drivers license with proper guide and instructions you should only go at APG truck driving school.

Fantastic experience: As a woman who had never driven a manual transmission before, I was very nervous about learning to drive.
