Fantastic experience: Despite my parents unable to trust me with their car and having no daily practice, I manage to pass my road test (during a heavy rain) with these guys. Driving looks scary, yet once I got the hang of it, I felt very comfortable as time went on. Would recommend this guys if you have never driven before.

Fantastic experience: I have been wanting my license for over 6 years but had extreme driving anxiety, I wasn’t even confident enough to start the car let alone drive it. I decided to go with lessons, and I booked Peter as my instructor. He listened to my concerns, and gently pushed me out of my comfort zone with every lesson. He is very nice, and corrects drivers in a very polite way. By the end of the lessons I was confident in my ability to drive, and Peter took the time to reassure me and guide me through every intersection and playground zone. This driving school is incredibly worth it, and I have only them to thank for everything I have accomplished. If you have extreme driving anxiety, you can do it, because I did it too. Thanks for everything!

Negative experience: Unacceptable driving of an instructor. Thank God of no student. But zooming down the highway towards okotoks tail gating drivers who were going slower, absolutely disgusting. Feel free to reply back if needed but it will be filed and our dashcam footage will be sent to CPS.

Fantastic experience: Logen loved learning from Peter. He's very calm, relaxed and has a great sense of humour and he made Logen feel comfortable right away. Logen passed his Driver's Exam on the first try on winter roads and no doubt Peter had everything to do with that. Nelson too was amazing to work with. I had no idea how to time all the lessons with the Driver's Exam. Nelson worked it all through with me. I have since recommended South Trail Driving School countless times. Fantastic experience: I was preparing to take the road test for class 5. I chose the Bronze package for myself, which includes 5 lessons of 2 hours - driving, and 15 hours of theory (online). Practical classes were conducted by Nelson (you choose your own driving instructor). Nelson not only quickly showed what was included in the exam, but he taught and repeated it over and over again! Nelson shared a lot of knowledge that you won't find in a textbook! This school will prepare you not only for the exam, but also for your independent riding. I am very grateful to Nelson for his patience and for what he taught me! I passed the exam on the first try! But, besides this, I learned a lot about the safety of myself and other people and a bunch of other tricks! I recommend this school to everyone! The road requires not just drivers, but conscious and thinking ones, and this school will teach you that!

Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with Nelson. As someone with no driving experience, Nelson is very good at explaining everything in a way that is easy to understand. He is a great instructor and really helps build confidence behind the wheel. He was very accommodating with what I needed, and was always available. I would recommend this driving school to anyone looking for one.

Fantastic experience: I booked end of July and was able to secure slots the first week of September. This driving school honestly wasn’t my first choice. I only had to resort to this since my preferred school was already booked until October. After following the step by step instructions on their user friendly site, I randomly just picked an instructor. I ended up with Peter as my instructor in all of my 5 behind the wheel classes as he had the earliest slot open. Everything from thereon, was just a blessing in disguise. Peter always would arrive on time and the entire 2hr-class wouldn’t be wasted as he would consume every minute of it to set me up to succeed. More importantly, to make sure we and everyone around us are safe even while we’re still practicing. The classes weren’t stick to just solely all about passing the test. It’s making sure that you have the right attitude apart from knowing the standard way to drive, park, etc. as you hit the road on your own. Was so anxious to even start with my classes knowing that I’d be with a complete stranger inside the car. But, Peter made sure I feel comfortable with him so I can easily absorb what he was trying to teach me. It made our classes bearable (lol), fun and easier. Definitely took all my anxiety away. He never yelled at any of my mistakes and would politely correct those but still having traction. I was joggling work and classes so I’d usually be pre-occupied to even come up with questions, but he told me that if something comes up I can just message him or prepare a list the next class. At some point he even offered and made changes to his schedule just to squeeze in a class & work conflict that I had. His professionalism, expertise, patience and teaching strategies helped me become better in my everyday class. I was so hesitant to take my first road test but his words of encouragement, honest opinions and immediate feedback made me do it. So I am writing this unfeigned review for this random school I chose and esp. for Peter, for a well-deserved kudos. I don’t have previous driving experience but with the unparalleled support & coaching of Peter, I passed on the first take the Class 5- road test. Hope you get to help more students. Thank you!

Negative experience: Im doing road construction in a 3 block envelope in an older neighborhood and these instructors keep directing their students through the small work area we have set up. My jobsite is not your playground, train your students literally anywhere else in this city for your safety and ours, have some respect- our job is dangerous enough!

Fantastic experience: This driving school was incredible I passed my test finally after 8 attempts prior to taking lessons at this school! I had the opportunity to drive with almost all the instructors including Peter, Nelson and Tom. All the instructors were very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: I’ve took lessons from a previous driving instructor, and they weren’t that good, hard to understand and didn’t inform on certain rules that would’ve helped on the road test. However with Southtrail I found it the complete opposite, Peter, my driving instructor was very clear and informed me on everything about driving for both road test and for the road afterwards. He is very patient and understands most strategies I used compared to the previous one. And the road test instructor was just as nice, to not make it as nerve wracking. I would highly recommend this place for anyone and even for those who may be nervous to take on driving for the first time!

Fantastic experience: I needed to find a good driving school for a few brush up lessons in order to prepare for my Class 5 Exam. This is when I found Mr.Nelson and South Train Driving School. If I’ll say that my experience was amazing - I won’t be saying enough. Mr. Nelson was extremely helpful, friendly while keeping a professional attitude, attentive, and from the first lesson it was obvious that his goal is to make sure that I become a careful, safe and respectful driver. Despite a minor language barrier (English is not my first language) his instructions were always very clear, and he explained everything in a simple, yet effective manner. When he noticed my mistake, Mr.Nelson not only corrected them, he explained in a great example what could this mistake lead to, and what is the best way to mentally overcome the habit and best way to act in such cases. I passed my class 5 exam in first try, and 90% of it is thanks to Mr. Nelson and his guidance (10% I’ll dedicate to myself being a good student :)))) ). Thank you Mr. Nelson and I hope to see you again!!!

Fantastic experience: I've had great success on my class 5 (non-GDL) driver's license whilst under South trail driving school. Learning from one of their awesome instructors, Peter Jones, he was able to teach me how to drive safely according to Canadian (Alberta) traffic laws. He was interactive and always provided useful pointers during our lessons. After 3 brush-up lessons, I was able to obtain my class 5 driver's license on the first try. Thank you, Peter!

Fantastic experience: I am an adult who had several different driving instructos in the past, both professional and familal. None of them really worked out and I was afraid I'd never have the ability to test for my license. When I decided to try one more time, I booked all my classes with Andy. He was patient, understanding, supportive, and gave me the courage to take my test (which I passed with flying colors!) I would absolutely recommend this school to anyone, but especially Andy, he was amazing and absolutely the reason I decided to finally take my test.

Fantastic experience: Before I took Southtrail Driving School, I was already a decent driver. But being more aware and knowledgeable on the road was something I wanted. Southtrail has taught me many useful tips and given excellent advice that has made me more comfortable behind the wheel. My instructor, Andy, has brought many situations that I could encounter when on the road. Making sure that I have no doubts or questions when anything unusual happens. I highly recommend taking at least a bronze course from Southtrail, so you have no hesitations on the road.

Fantastic experience: My son completed his driving lessons and obtained his driver’s license on his first attempt. His instructor was Andy…the feedback that I received from my son was that Andy is knowledgeable, thorough with the content throughout the lessons and very calm/patient with his in car instruction. We also needed our driver training certificate right away for insurance. Nelson did everything that he could to ensure we got it in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Andy as an instructor as well as Nelson at Southtrail Driving School.

Fantastic experience: My son passed his drivers test on his first try! A massive thank you to both Nelson and Andy who worked with my son and gave our nervous driver the best support in his driving. We purchased the gold package and also bought a few extra lessons so that my son was able to feel confident in his driving. We are thankful for their knowledge and setting our son up for success. Fantastic experience: After I've finished my final lesson of the bronze package, I was very shocked with how much more confident and comfortable I am driving a vehicle compared to my first lesson, where I was nervous and hesitating a lot because the concepts of driving wasn't very clear to me at the time. Andy was able to teach me the concepts of driving and everything I needed to know to drive safely. He caught and pointed out all my mistakes and explained to me why it was a mistake, and that helped me learn the concepts a lot quicker. Andy is an amazing instructor and has a great approach to teaching, I felt like I learned so much after every lesson, I no longer hesitate when driving because I know how to drive safely to protect myself and others. All the team members are super cooperative, highly recommend Andy Bakshi and Peter Jones as driving instructors. Andy Bakshi was patient, very professional, punctual and his teaching methods are simple and informative. He understood what I was lacking in as a driver got me driving all by myself within a week! A special thanks to Nelson Chateauneuf, he made the entire process smooth. The Silver Package for new drivers and people who have not driven in a very long time is the best choice, which also includes the car for the driving test, so people without cars do not have to rent one at the registry. Overall, highly recommended driving school in Calgary. Kudos to Okotos and Southtrail team!!

Fantastic experience: I passed my drivers test the for the first time because This driving school has taught me everything I need know, TOM and ANDY have worked, guided and supported me, they are very patient and very willing to help. They are people I feel comfortable around. They can prep you for a your driving test and they make sure they let you have a chance to try things on your own with their guidance. I would and will recommend this driving school to anyone who is a first time driver and or needing some brushing up.

Fantastic experience: The school and my instructor Andy were excellent from start to end. The driving instructions, the tips, the provided vehicle (which I also used in the exam) and the feedback were amazing. If you’re new to Canada, you’re 100% better off learning from these guys, no matter how long you’ve been driving. Believe me, knowing how to drive, studying the driver guide and getting tips from your friends are not nearly enough. Ultimately, the exam experience was like night vs day, as compared to my last attempt. #WorthIt

Fantastic experience: We were very impressed with Southtrail Driving School. Our sone completed the Silver package and had no problems passing his drivers test on the first try. I also loved how you could book all lessons in advance online. Thank you to Nelson for a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Both Ian and Jerry were excellent teachers who helped me learn to drive at a pace that I was comfortable with yet challenged me nonetheless. I easily passed my road test first try after lessons with each of them. Also very thankful for Nelson's excellent service. All in all, this driving ed program is top notch and I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn.

Fantastic experience: My son did his on road driver’s training with Jerry. He really enjoyed Jerry as an instructor. It makes a big difference learning from a professional. Jerry is a very patient and kind man. My son’s goal was to get his license on his 16th birthday- and he did it with an almost perfect score! We highly recommend Southtrail Driving School.

Negative experience: I had never driven a car prior to paying for driving school. With that in mind, I figured the first couple of lessons would be a big learning curve. Nelson was terrible and had no patience. He came late to almost all sessions and said he would "make up" for it in the end which he never did. He was fully booked up where I only had sessions once every 2 months. I decided to ask my friend to teach me how to drive instead and that was more help than paying $1k to this driving school. I ended up passing my driver's license no thanks to you guys. He is unprofessional, talks negatively about other students and is rude. I will never recommend anyone to this driving school if that's how he treats people.

Fantastic experience: My son just passed his road test, first attempt! Nelson was a great instructor, my son found the lessons very valuable and felt very confident going into his road test. Nelson takes pride in his business and I would highly recommend him and his driving school. This was a very smooth experience and we couldn’t be happier. Thank you Nelson!

Fantastic experience: My son just finished his course with the Southtrail Driving School. Even after his first lesson his confidence really improved. His instructor Nelson was very professional. He was thorough with his explanations and really seems to know what he's talking about. I felt very confident in his ability to teach my son to drive. (He only had to take his road test once to pass!) I'm happy with the overall experience. When my other son is ready to learn we will be hiring this company again. When I was researching schools, this wasn't the cheapest but it was money well spent. I have no regrets.

Fantastic experience: Great driving instruction, I worked with Nelson and I always felt comfortable in the car. He was very helpful not only in how to drive, but also how to drive defensively. His road test advice was also extremely valuable. I did the silver program and I thought it was a great value. I would highly recommend this program to anyone nervous about driving or just looking for a quality instruction in the Calgary or Okotoks area.
