Fantastic experience: Young Drivers is a fantastic program! They provide you with invaluable lessons in road safety that if used properly will help your driving for life. My in-car instructor, Eric, was a fantastic teacher. He always paced lessons to push you out of your comfort zone, while still ensuring you felt safe and confident in what you were doing.

Fantastic experience: Passed my G2 first try and the final road test with young drivers. I had Bob as my instructor for the final evaluation and it went great!

Negative experience: As a mature driving student I was unimpressed by this service; 1. The online course is decent in terms of the quality of information but the timers on each module force you to wait and then waste an extraordinary amount of time. Very frustrating. 2. The in car driving sessions were inconsistent in terms of quality of service. Some days the instructor was patient and helpful, other days he was impatient and unsupportive. 3. At the end of each in car session, I was never told exactly where I could be improving and should be focusing on and the details of what we would be doing in the next in car session were never clearly articulated (more over, what he would be testing me on). Making preparation for the next class and follow up on the current class difficult. Hot tip: ask ask ask, they don't offer the information. 4. At the end of the in car sessions I was told I had to do another two hour session (more $$$!!!) but was not told why, or told in the previous session that this would be the case. Consistent poor communication on the part of the instructor is the pattern. While I believe the company is interested in teaching students thoroughly, I do believe they capitalize on people to make more money off them by not communicating and setting better expectations so that people can prepare and focus on their weaker areas. When I called the head office to inquire about why specifically I was asked to do more time / hours in the car they could not adequately explain to me exactly where I required more time/effort. They can and may withhold course completion and force $400-$900 driving packages. Personally, I never finished this program because I believed they are strategically positioning failures in order to upsell additional services.

Fantastic experience: I was given very helpful feedback in a respectful manner and valuable driving experience on a variety of roads, which aided me in becoming a better all round driver.

Fantastic experience: Got my g2 on the first try thanks to Bob T and Eric! The whole way through I felt supported by staff at all levels from the in class lessons to flexibility if I ever had to reschedule classes or lessons. Bob gave me great tips on the day of my test and was a great in class instructor and Eric really helped me learn a lot of great foundational skills to gain confidence behind the wheel. Overall great service!

Positive experience: Completed my in car lessons with Bob who was so understanding and an excellent teacher. As an adult driver with no experience he was very patient and personable. Best instructor ever! He didn’t make me feel stupid for not getting everything on the first try.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Young Drivers of Canada. I took my driving training with Haseeb. He is one of the most patient and understanding instructors out there. Not only did he make sure that I was understanding everything, but he also didn’t make me feel stupid for not getting everything on the first try. Money was well spent!

Fantastic experience: I took 5 hours of extra in-car classes to prep for my G test with Bob Theriault and he was fantastic. Bob is a great instructor, he has a good knowledge of the road, and js incredibly courteous and accommodating. I passed my G test - thanks Bob!

Fantastic experience: I just completed the online driver's ed course and 10 hour in-car lessons with Bob T (before my driving test for my G2 license). I am an adult student (early 30s) with minimal driving experience. Bob was wonderful and everything I could have asked for in a driving instructor. He was always patient, laid back. He explained everything clearly and answered all my questions (the few times he didn't know the answer he even looked it up online while in the car with me!). He was very encouraging and never made me feel bad for making a mistake or not knowing something. He is also very pleasant to talk to, though not super chatty - which suited me just fine because I don't like to be very chatty either! Overall my experience with Young Drivers has been great. They have clearly put a lot of time and thought into their curriculum (both the driver's ed course and the in-car lessons). I feel well prepared for my driving test!

Fantastic experience: I had Bob T. as an instructor in June to help me prep for my G exam. I am a nervous driver and showed up the first session overwhelmed and stressed. Bob was extremely patient and re-assuring. He helped build my confidence before my test and made me feel so much more at ease behind the wheel. He is fantastic at providing correction in a calm, practical and constructive way and was able to answer all my questions no matter how silly I felt they were. He drove home every single thing I would need to look out for on the test. I felt so prepared and ready, a complete 180 from how I felt 1 month prior. I feel so lucky to have had him as my instructor, oh and I passed my road test! First try!

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t have had a better experience with Young Drivers (Ottawa South) than I did. I signed up for both the G2 and G courses including both road tests and seriously have no regrets with my choice. It’s an expensive service, but truly worth every penny. The instructors are amazing - I had David for my G2 and Bob for my G and couldn’t have done it without both of their guidance. As a very anxious driver, David helped me through panic attacks I had in the car with him and Bob helped keep my confidence high going into my G with very little practise in between. The admin people were super helpful, scheduling everything to suit my schedule. Huge huge thanks to my instructors and YD, I passed both tests on my first try. Highly recommend :)

Fantastic experience: David and Bob were both amazing instructors! They were patient, resourceful, and knowledgeable. Never once was I afraid to ask questions or review manoeuvres when needed. After putting off my G2 for so long because of anxiety, I can proudly say they are the reason I was able to pass my test with confidence. Here are some highlights of what made my lessons a great experience: - Lots and lots of positive reinforcement and impressive amount of patience when teaching. - They adapt to your level of comfort while driving. Some instructors like to hold small talk while you drive to break the ice and to calm your nerves. In the beginning, this was stressful since i’ve never driven before and was trying to focus on the road and not the conversation. After bringing it up, I saw immediate change and adaptation to my level of comfort. Towards the end of my lessons, I was more comfortable with talking and driving. - They also 100% adapt to your style of learning. Eg; Im a visual learner and they carried laminated papers with road maps and car drawings and visually took time to draw me maneuvers on intersections and roads before I went out and did them.

Fantastic experience: As an new driver, I was very nervous for my in-car lessons as I have never driven before. Bob, my driving instructor was very knowledgeable and helped me better understand the rules of the road. He was very patient and calm, which eased my nerves. The lessons are more expensive compared to other driving schools, but it is well worth the money. Definitely recommend Bob and Young Drivers!

Fantastic experience: I decided to finally get my driver's license at 45 years old and took Young Drivers' online course and five in-car lessons. I expected the online course to be boring, but the course was really well designed (lots of videos and activities). Most importantly, it really prepares you to drive safely. My in-car lessons were excellent. I was quite nervous to start driving lessons at my age, but Bob (my instructor) explained everything clearly and was very patient and encouraging. Taking lessons with him really built my confidence, and I couldn't be happier with the experience and instruction.

Fantastic experience: Young Drivers is a great driving school and prioritizes defensive driving, which is so important. My instructor was Bob T, and he was absolutely amazing! He was very thorough with his explanations and had so much patience, which was ideal for me (someone anxious and inexperienced). He did a really good job of making me feel more at ease with driving and gave really good tips regarding driving techniques & rules of the road. I could not have gotten my G2 without him! 100% recommend :)

I had to start over from not getting my Gs in time but this time I took drivers education with Young Drivers. I learnt so much especially with defensive driving. As I feel I used to be an offense driver. Now I am equipped with many skills and will be a safer driver thanks too Young Drivers. Highly, highly recommend. I will be definitely recommending them to others and my son when he is old enough to drive! Totally, worth it!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely great school. I had an amazing experience here, both in ground school and in practice. The instructors here are very helpful and supportive all along your way. They make sure you end up being a good driver who knows what they're doing and does everything safely. Also special thanks to Eric Wiens, my instructor, who helped me understand the road better and be actually comfortable while driving. I used to struggle with some stuff but Eric really helped me to understand those things and form proper habits. I now have my G2 and I'm really thankful for all the important things this school has taught me. Worth every cent.

Fantastic experience: Solid driving lessons from Eric and very professional staff, atleast in Ottawa. I transferred from the Sudbury Young Drivers program and really did not appreciate the outsourcing of staff and the availability of coaches per capita there. Sudbury Young Driver's staff is outsourced (a 3rd party call center) and in my experience irresponsibly inefficient, because transferring from Sudbury took much longer than expected due to some strange communication practices they have. I had to call several times to ensure that they were transferring my file, and they still failed without notifying me of anything over a period of weeks. Finally, Young Driver's Ottawa was able to get my file transfered by supposedly escalating the issue up the chain of command.

He was so attentive and knowledgeable, David understood that I was stressed out and made me feel so much more comfortable and relaxed while driving. After a few lessons the anxiety I felt went away, I was excited to learn new things. David and I talked which made it more personal and enjoyable, he was so kind and fun!!
